1 Chronicles 18
1Ch 18:1 Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines. 1 Chr 18:1 Now after this it came about that David defeated the Philistines and subdued them and took Gath and its towns from the hand of the Philistines. Ch1 18:1 καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ ἐτροπώσατο αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν Γεθ καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς ἐκ χειρὸς ἀλλοφύλων
1Ch 18:2 And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts. 1 Chr 18:2 He defeated Moab, and the Moabites became servants to David, bringing tribute. Ch1 18:2 καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν Μωαβ καὶ ἦσαν Μωαβ παῖδες τῷ Δαυιδ φέροντες δῶρα
1Ch 18:3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates. 1 Chr 18:3 David also defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah as far as Hamath, as he went to establish his rule to the Euphrates River. Ch1 18:3 καὶ ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ τὸν Αδρααζαρ βασιλέα Σουβα Ημαθ πορευομένου αὐτοῦ ἐπιστῆσαι χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ ποταμὸν Εὐφράτην
1Ch 18:4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots. 1 Chr 18:4 David took from him 1,000 chariots and 7,000 horsemen and 20,000 foot soldiers, and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for 100 chariots. Ch1 18:4 καὶ προκατελάβετο Δαυιδ αὐτῶν χίλια ἅρματα καὶ ἑπτὰ χιλιάδας ἵππων καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν πεζῶν καὶ παρέλυσεν Δαυιδ πάντα τὰ ἅρματα καὶ ὑπελίπετο ἐξ αὐτῶν ἑκατὸν ἅρματα
1Ch 18:5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men. 1 Chr 18:5 When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed 22,000 men of the Arameans. Ch1 18:5 καὶ ἦλθεν Σύρος ἐκ Δαμασκοῦ βοηθῆσαι Αδρααζαρ βασιλεῖ Σουβα καὶ ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ ἐν τῷ Σύρῳ εἴκοσι καὶ δύο χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν
1Ch 18:6 Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went. 1 Chr 18:6 Then David put garrisons among the Arameans of Damascus; and the Arameans became servants to David, bringing tribute. And the Lord helped David wherever he went. Ch1 18:6 καὶ ἔθετο Δαυιδ φρουρὰν ἐν Συρίᾳ τῇ κατὰ Δαμασκόν καὶ ἦσαν τῷ Δαυιδ εἰς παῖδας φέροντας δῶρα καὶ ἔσῳζεν κύριος τὸν Δαυιδ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπορεύετο
1Ch 18:7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. 1 Chr 18:7 David took the shields of gold which were carried by the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. Ch1 18:7 καὶ ἔλαβεν Δαυιδ τοὺς κλοιοὺς τοὺς χρυσοῦς οἳ ἦσαν ἐπὶ τοὺς παῖδας Αδρααζαρ καὶ ἤνεγκεν αὐτοὺς εἰς Ιερουσαλημ
1Ch 18:8 Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass. 1 Chr 18:8 Also from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took a very large amount of bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea and the pillars and the bronze utensils. Ch1 18:8 καὶ ἐκ τῆς μεταβηχας καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν πόλεων τῶν Αδρααζαρ ἔλαβεν Δαυιδ χαλκὸν πολὺν σφόδρα ἐξ αὐτοῦ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν χαλκῆν καὶ τοὺς στύλους καὶ τὰ σκεύη τὰ χαλκᾶ
1Ch 18:9 Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah; 1 Chr 18:9 Now when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah, Ch1 18:9 καὶ ἤκουσεν Θωα βασιλεὺς Ημαθ ὅτι ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ τὴν πᾶσαν δύναμιν Αδρααζαρ βασιλέως Σουβα
1Ch 18:10 He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass. 1 Chr 18:10 he sent Hadoram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and had defeated him; for Hadadezer had been at war with Tou. And Hadoram brought all kinds of articles of gold and silver and bronze. Ch1 18:10 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τὸν Ιδουραμ υἱὸν αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Δαυιδ τοῦ ἐρωτῆσαι αὐτὸν τὰ εἰς εἰρήνην καὶ τοῦ εὐλογῆσαι αὐτὸν ὑπὲρ οὗ ἐπολέμησεν τὸν Αδρααζαρ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτόν ὅτι ἀνὴρ πολέμιος Θωα ἦν τῷ Αδρααζαρ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη ἀργυρᾶ καὶ χρυσᾶ
1Ch 18:11 Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. 1 Chr 18:11 King David also dedicated these to the Lord with the silver and the gold which he had carried away from all the nations: from Edom, Moab, the sons of Ammon, the Philistines, and from Amalek. Ch1 18:11 καὶ ταῦτα ἡγίασεν Δαυιδ τῷ κυρίῳ μετὰ τοῦ ἀργυρίου καὶ τοῦ χρυσίου οὗ ἔλαβεν ἐκ πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐξ Ιδουμαίας καὶ Μωαβ καὶ ἐξ υἱῶν Αμμων καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐξ Αμαληκ
1Ch 18:12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand. 1 Chr 18:12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah defeated 18,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt. Ch1 18:12 καὶ Αβεσσα υἱὸς Σαρουια ἐπάταξεν τὴν Ιδουμαίαν ἐν κοιλάδι τῶν ἁλῶν ὀκτὼ καὶ δέκα χιλιάδας
1Ch 18:13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went. 1 Chr 18:13 Then he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the Lord helped David wherever he went. Ch1 18:13 καὶ ἔθετο ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι φρουράς καὶ ἦσαν πάντες οἱ Ιδουμαῖοι παῖδες Δαυιδ καὶ ἔσῳζεν κύριος τὸν Δαυιδ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπορεύετο
1Ch 18:14 So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people. 1 Chr 18:14 So David reigned over all Israel; and he administered justice and righteousness for all his people. Ch1 18:14 καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Δαυιδ ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ ἦν ποιῶν κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην τῷ παντὶ λαῷ αὐτοῦ
1Ch 18:15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder. 1 Chr 18:15 Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; Ch1 18:15 καὶ Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουια ἐπὶ τῆς στρατιᾶς καὶ Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς Αχιλουδ ὑπομνηματογράφος
1Ch 18:16 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe; 1 Chr 18:16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub and Abimelech the son of Abiathar were priests, and Shavsha was secretary; Ch1 18:16 καὶ Σαδωκ υἱὸς Αχιτωβ καὶ Αχιμελεχ υἱὸς Αβιαθαρ ἱερεῖς καὶ Σουσα γραμματεὺς
1Ch 18:17 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king. 1 Chr 18:17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and the sons of David were chiefs at the king's side. Ch1 18:17 καὶ Βαναιας υἱὸς Ιωδαε ἐπὶ τοῦ χερεθθι καὶ τοῦ φελεθθι καὶ υἱοὶ Δαυιδ οἱ πρῶτοι διάδοχοι τοῦ βασιλέως
