Job 41
Job 41:1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Job 41:1 "Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook? Or press down his tongue with a cord? Job 40:25 ἄξεις δὲ δράκοντα ἐν ἀγκίστρῳ περιθήσεις δὲ φορβεὰν περὶ ῥῖνα αὐτοῦ
Job 41:2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Job 41:2 "Can you put a rope in his nose Or pierce his jaw with a hook? Job 40:26 εἰ δήσεις κρίκον ἐν τῷ μυκτῆρι αὐτοῦ ψελίῳ δὲ τρυπήσεις τὸ χεῖλος αὐτοῦ
Job 41:3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? Job 41:3 "Will he make many supplications to you, Or will he speak to you soft words? Job 40:27 λαλήσει δέ σοι δεήσει ἱκετηρίᾳ μαλακῶς
Job 41:4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? Job 41:4 "Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him for a servant forever? Job 40:28 θήσεται δὲ διαθήκην μετὰ σοῦ λήμψῃ δὲ αὐτὸν δοῦλον αἰώνιον
Job 41:5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? Job 41:5 "Will you play with him as with a bird, Or will you bind him for your maidens? Job 40:29 παίξῃ δὲ ἐν αὐτῷ ὥσπερ ὀρνέῳ ἢ δήσεις αὐτὸν ὥσπερ στρουθίον παιδίῳ
Job 41:6 Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? Job 41:6 "Will the traders bargain over him? Will they divide him among the merchants? Job 40:30 ἐνσιτοῦνται δὲ ἐν αὐτῷ ἔθνη μεριτεύονται δὲ αὐτὸν φοινίκων γένη
Job 41:7 Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? Job 41:7 "Can you fill his skin with harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears? Job 40:31 πᾶν δὲ πλωτὸν συνελθὸν οὐ μὴ ἐνέγκωσιν βύρσαν μίαν οὐρᾶς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν πλοίοις ἁλιέων κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ
Job 41:8 Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. Job 41:8 "Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle; you will not do it again! Job 40:32 ἐπιθήσεις δὲ αὐτῷ χεῖρα μνησθεὶς πόλεμον τὸν γινόμενον ἐν σώματι αὐτοῦ καὶ μηκέτι γινέσθω
Job 41:9 Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? Job 41:9 "Behold, your expectation is false; Will you be laid low even at the sight of him? Job 41:1 οὐχ ἑόρακας αὐτὸν οὐδὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς λεγομένοις τεθαύμακας
Job 41:10 None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? Job 41:10 "No one is so fierce that he dares to arouse him; Who then is he that can stand before Me? Job 41:2 οὐ δέδοικας ὅτι ἡτοίμασταί μοι τίς γάρ ἐστιν ὁ ἐμοὶ ἀντιστάς
Job 41:11 Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. Job 41:11 "Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine. Job 41:3 ἢ τίς ἀντιστήσεταί μοι καὶ ὑπομενεῖ εἰ πᾶσα ἡ ὑπ᾽ οὐρανὸν ἐμή ἐστιν
Job 41:12 I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Job 41:12 "I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, Or his mighty strength, or his orderly frame. Job 41:4 οὐ σιωπήσομαι δι᾽ αὐτόν καὶ λόγον δυνάμεως ἐλεήσει τὸν ἴσον αὐτοῦ
Job 41:13 Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? Job 41:13 "Who can strip off his outer armor? Who can come within his double mail? Job 41:5 τίς ἀποκαλύψει πρόσωπον ἐνδύσεως αὐτοῦ εἰς δὲ πτύξιν θώρακος αὐτοῦ τίς ἂν εἰσέλθοι
Job 41:14 Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. Job 41:14 "Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth there is terror. Job 41:6 πύλας προσώπου αὐτοῦ τίς ἀνοίξει κύκλῳ ὀδόντων αὐτοῦ φόβος
Job 41:15 His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. Job 41:15 "His strong scales are his pride, Shut up as with a tight seal. Job 41:7 τὰ ἔγκατα αὐτοῦ ἀσπίδες χάλκειαι σύνδεσμος δὲ αὐτοῦ ὥσπερ σμιρίτης λίθος
Job 41:16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. Job 41:16 "One is so near to another That no air can come between them. Job 41:8 εἷς τοῦ ἑνὸς κολλῶνται πνεῦμα δὲ οὐ μὴ διέλθῃ αὐτόν
Job 41:17 They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. Job 41:17 "They are joined one to another; They clasp each other and cannot be separated. Job 41:9 ἀνὴρ τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ προσκολληθήσεται συνέχονται καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποσπασθῶσιν
Job 41:18 By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Job 41:18 "His sneezes flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Job 41:10 ἐν πταρμῷ αὐτοῦ ἐπιφαύσκεται φέγγος οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ εἶδος ἑωσφόρου
Job 41:19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Job 41:19 "Out of his mouth go burning torches; Sparks of fire leap forth. Job 41:11 ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύονται λαμπάδες καιόμεναι καὶ διαρριπτοῦνται ἐσχάραι πυρός
Job 41:20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. Job 41:20 "Out of his nostrils smoke goes forth As from a boiling pot and burning rushes. Job 41:12 ἐκ μυκτήρων αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύεται καπνὸς καμίνου καιομένης πυρὶ ἀνθράκων
Job 41:21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. Job 41:21 "His breath kindles coals, And a flame goes forth from his mouth. Job 41:13 ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ ἄνθρακες φλὸξ δὲ ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύεται
Job 41:22 In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. Job 41:22 "In his neck lodges strength, And dismay leaps before him. Job 41:14 ἐν δὲ τραχήλῳ αὐτοῦ αὐλίζεται δύναμις ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ τρέχει ἀπώλεια
Job 41:23 The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. Job 41:23 "The folds of his flesh are joined together, Firm on him and immovable. Job 41:15 σάρκες δὲ σώματος αὐτοῦ κεκόλληνται καταχέει ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν οὐ σαλευθήσεται
Job 41:24 His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. Job 41:24 "His heart is as hard as a stone, Even as hard as a lower millstone. Job 41:16 ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ πέπηγεν ὡς λίθος ἕστηκεν δὲ ὥσπερ ἄκμων ἀνήλατος
Job 41:25 When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. Job 41:25 "When he raises himself up, the mighty fear; Because of the crashing they are bewildered. Job 41:17 στραφέντος δὲ αὐτοῦ φόβος θηρίοις τετράποσιν ἐπὶ γῆς ἁλλομένοις
Job 41:26 The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. Job 41:26 "The sword that reaches him cannot avail, Nor the spear, the dart or the javelin. Job 41:18 ἐὰν συναντήσωσιν αὐτῷ λόγχαι οὐδὲν μὴ ποιήσωσιν δόρυ ἐπηρμένον καὶ θώρακα
Job 41:27 He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. Job 41:27 "He regards iron as straw, Bronze as rotten wood. Job 41:19 ἥγηται μὲν γὰρ σίδηρον ἄχυρα χαλκὸν δὲ ὥσπερ ξύλον σαθρόν
Job 41:28 The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. Job 41:28 "The arrow cannot make him flee; Slingstones are turned into stubble for him. Job 41:20 οὐ μὴ τρώσῃ αὐτὸν τόξον χάλκειον ἥγηται μὲν πετροβόλον χόρτον
Job 41:29 Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. Job 41:29 "Clubs are regarded as stubble; He laughs at the rattling of the javelin. Job 41:21 ὡς καλάμη ἐλογίσθησαν σφῦραι καταγελᾷ δὲ σεισμοῦ πυρφόρου
Job 41:30 Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. Job 41:30 "His underparts are like sharp potsherds; He spreads out like a threshing sledge on the mire. Job 41:22 ἡ στρωμνὴ αὐτοῦ ὀβελίσκοι ὀξεῖς πᾶς δὲ χρυσὸς θαλάσσης ὑπ᾽ αὐτὸν ὥσπερ πηλὸς ἀμύθητος
Job 41:31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. Job 41:31 "He makes the depths boil like a pot; He makes the sea like a jar of ointment. Job 41:23 ἀναζεῖ τὴν ἄβυσσον ὥσπερ χαλκεῖον ἥγηται δὲ τὴν θάλασσαν ὥσπερ ἐξάλειπτρον
Job 41:32 He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. Job 41:32 "Behind him he makes a wake to shine; One would think the deep to be gray-haired. Job 41:24 τὸν δὲ τάρταρον τῆς ἀβύσσου ὥσπερ αἰχμάλωτον ἐλογίσατο ἄβυσσον εἰς περίπατον
Job 41:33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. Job 41:33 "Nothing on earth is like him, One made without fear. Job 41:25 οὐκ ἔστιν οὐδὲν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὅμοιον αὐτῷ πεποιημένον ἐγκαταπαίζεσθαι ὑπὸ τῶν ἀγγέλων μου
Job 41:34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride. Job 41:34 "He looks on everything that is high; He is king over all the sons of pride." Job 41:26 πᾶν ὑψηλὸν ὁρᾷ αὐτὸς δὲ βασιλεὺς πάντων τῶν ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν
