Song of Solomon 1
SS 1:1 The song of songs, which is Solomon's. (kjv) Sos 1:1 The Song of Songs, which is Solomon's. Sol 1:1 ᾆσμα ᾀσμάτων ὅ ἐστιν τῷ Σαλωμων
SS 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. (kjv) Sos 1:2 "May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine. Sol 1:2 φιλησάτω με ἀπὸ φιλημάτων στόματος αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἀγαθοὶ μαστοί σου ὑπὲρ οἶνον
SS 1:3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee. (kjv) Sos 1:3 "Your oils have a pleasing fragrance, Your name is like purified oil; Therefore the maidens love you. Sol 1:3 καὶ ὀσμὴ μύρων σου ὑπὲρ πάντα τὰ ἀρώματα μύρον ἐκκενωθὲν ὄνομά σου διὰ τοῦτο νεάνιδες ἠγάπησάν σε
SS 1:4 Draw me, we will run after thee the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine the upright love thee. (kjv) Sos 1:4 "Draw me after you and let us run together! The king has brought me into his chambers."" We will rejoice in you and be glad; We will extol your love more than wine. Rightly do they love you." Sol 1:4 εἵλκυσάν σε ὀπίσω σου εἰς ὀσμὴν μύρων σου δραμοῦμεν εἰσήνεγκέν με ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς τὸ ταμίειον αὐτοῦ ἀγαλλιασώμεθα καὶ εὐφρανθῶμεν ἐν σοί ἀγαπήσομεν μαστούς σου ὑπὲρ οἶνον εὐθύτης ἠγάπησέν σε
SS 1:5 I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. (kjv) Sos 1:5 "I am black but lovely, O daughters of Jerusalem, Like the tents of Kedar, Like the curtains of Solomon. Sol 1:5 μέλαινά εἰμι καὶ καλή θυγατέρες Ιερουσαλημ ὡς σκηνώματα Κηδαρ ὡς δέρρεις Σαλωμων
SS 1:6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept. (kjv) Sos 1:6 "Do not stare at me because I am swarthy, For the sun has burned me. My mother's sons were angry with me; They made me caretaker of the vineyards, But I have not taken care of my own vineyard. Sol 1:6 μὴ βλέψητέ με ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι μεμελανωμένη ὅτι παρέβλεψέν με ὁ ἥλιος υἱοὶ μητρός μου ἐμαχέσαντο ἐν ἐμοί ἔθεντό με φυλάκισσαν ἐν ἀμπελῶσιν ἀμπελῶνα ἐμὸν οὐκ ἐφύλαξα
SS 1:7 Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions? (kjv) Sos 1:7 "Tell me, O you whom my soul loves, Where do you pasture your flock, Where do you make it lie down at noon? For why should I be like one who veils herself Beside the flocks of your companions?" Solomon, the Lover, Speaks Sol 1:7 ἀπάγγειλόν μοι ὃν ἠγάπησεν ἡ ψυχή μου ποῦ ποιμαίνεις ποῦ κοιτάζεις ἐν μεσημβρίᾳ μήποτε γένωμαι ὡς περιβαλλομένη ἐπ᾽ ἀγέλαις ἑταίρων σου
SS 1:8 If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents. (kjv) Sos 1:8 "If you yourself do not know, Most beautiful among women, Go forth on the trail of the flock And pasture your young goats By the tents of the shepherds. Sol 1:8 ἐὰν μὴ γνῷς σεαυτήν ἡ καλὴ ἐν γυναιξίν ἔξελθε σὺ ἐν πτέρναις τῶν ποιμνίων καὶ ποίμαινε τὰς ἐρίφους σου ἐπὶ σκηνώμασιν τῶν ποιμένων
SS 1:9 I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots. (kjv) Sos 1:9 "To me, my darling, you are like My mare among the chariots of Pharaoh. Sol 1:9 τῇ ἵππῳ μου ἐν ἅρμασιν Φαραω ὡμοίωσά σε ἡ πλησίον μου
SS 1:10 Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold. (kjv) Sos 1:10 "Your cheeks are lovely with ornaments, Your neck with strings of beads." Sol 1:10 τί ὡραιώθησαν σιαγόνες σου ὡς τρυγόνες τράχηλός σου ὡς ὁρμίσκοι
SS 1:11 We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver. (kjv) Sos 1:11 "We will make for you ornaments of gold With beads of silver." Sol 1:11 ὁμοιώματα χρυσίου ποιήσομέν σοι μετὰ στιγμάτων τοῦ ἀργυρίου
SS 1:12 While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof. (kjv) Sos 1:12 "While the king was at his table, My perfume gave forth its fragrance. Sol 1:12 ἕως οὗ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν ἀνακλίσει αὐτοῦ νάρδος μου ἔδωκεν ὀσμὴν αὐτοῦ
SS 1:13 A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts. (kjv) Sos 1:13 "My beloved is to me a pouch of myrrh Which lies all night between my breasts. Sol 1:13 ἀπόδεσμος τῆς στακτῆς ἀδελφιδός μου ἐμοί ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν μαστῶν μου αὐλισθήσεται
SS 1:14 My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi. (kjv) Sos 1:14 "My beloved is to me a cluster of henna blossoms In the vineyards of Engedi." Sol 1:14 βότρυς τῆς κύπρου ἀδελφιδός μου ἐμοὶ ἐν ἀμπελῶσιν Εγγαδδι
SS 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes. (kjv) Sos 1:15 "How beautiful you are, my darling, How beautiful you are! Your eyes are like doves." Sol 1:15 ἰδοὺ εἶ καλή ἡ πλησίον μου ἰδοὺ εἶ καλή ὀφθαλμοί σου περιστεραί
SS 1:16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green. (kjv) Sos 1:16 "How handsome you are, my beloved, And so pleasant! Indeed, our couch is luxuriant! Sol 1:16 ἰδοὺ εἶ καλός ὁ ἀδελφιδός μου καί γε ὡραῖος πρὸς κλίνη ἡμῶν σύσκιος
SS 1:17 The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.(kjv) Sos 1:17 "The beams of our houses are cedars, Our rafters, cypresses. Sol 1:17 δοκοὶ οἴκων ἡμῶν κέδροι φατνώματα ἡμῶν κυπάρισσοι
