Jer 50:1 The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet. Jer 50:1 The word which the Lord spoke concerning Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, through Jeremiah the prophet: Jer 50:1 καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς ἐπαύσατο Ιερεμιας λέγων πρὸς τὸν λαὸν πάντας τοὺς λόγους κυρίου οὓς ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὸν κύριος πρὸς αὐτούς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους
Jer 50:2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces. Jer 50:2 "Declare and proclaim among the nations. Proclaim it and lift up a standard. Do not conceal it but say, 'Babylon has been captured, Bel has been put to shame, Marduk has been shattered; Her images have been put to shame, her idols have been shattered. Jer 50:3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast. Jer 50:3 For a nation has come up against her out of the north; it will make her land an object of horror, and there will be no inhabitant in it. Both man and beast have wandered off, they have gone away! Jer 50:3 ἀλλ᾽ ἢ Βαρουχ υἱὸς Νηριου συμβάλλει σε πρὸς ἡμᾶς ἵνα δῷς ἡμᾶς εἰς χεῖρας τῶν Χαλδαίων τοῦ θανατῶσαι ἡμᾶς καὶ ἀποικισθῆναι ἡμᾶς εἰς Βαβυλῶνα
Jer 50:4 In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. Jer 50:4 "In those days and at that time," declares the Lord,"the sons of Israel will come, both they and the sons of Judah as well; they will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the Lord their God they will seek. Jer 50:5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten. Jer 50:5 They will ask for the way to Zion, turning their faces in its direction; they will come that they may join themselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten. Jer 50 6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. Jer 50:6 "My people have become lost sheep; Their shepherds have led them astray. They have made them turn aside on the mountains; They have gone along from mountain to hill And have forgotten their resting place. Jer 50:6 τοὺς δυνατοὺς ἄνδρας καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὰ νήπια καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τὰς ψυχάς ἃς κατέλιπεν Ναβουζαρδαν μετὰ Γοδολιου υἱοῦ Αχικαμ καὶ Ιερεμιαν τὸν προφήτην καὶ Βαρουχ υἱὸν Νηριου
Jer 50:7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers. Jer 50:7 "All who came upon them have devoured them; And their adversaries have said, 'We are not guilty, Inasmuch as they have sinned against the Lord who is the habitation of righteousness, Even the Lord, the hope of their fathers. Jer 50:8 Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks. Jer 50:8 "Wander away from the midst of Babylon And go forth from the land of the Chaldeans; Be also like male goats at the head of the flock. Jer 50:8 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ἐν Ταφνας λέγων
Jer 50 9 For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain. Jer 50:9 "For behold, I am going to arouse and bring up against Babylon A horde of great nations from the land of the north, And they will draw up their battle lines against her; From there she will be taken captive. Their arrows will be like an expert warrior Who does not return empty-handed. Jer 50:9 λαβὲ σεαυτῷ λίθους μεγάλους καὶ κατάκρυψον αὐτοὺς ἐν προθύροις ἐν πύλῃ τῆς οἰκίας Φαραω ἐν Ταφνας κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς ἀνδρῶν Ιουδα
Jer 50:10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the LORD. Jer 50:10 "Chaldea will become plunder; All who plunder her will have enough," declares the Lord. Jer 50:10 καὶ ἐρεῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω καὶ ἄξω Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος καὶ θήσει αὐτοῦ τὸν θρόνον ἐπάνω τῶν λίθων τούτων ὧν κατέκρυψας καὶ ἀρεῖ τὰ ὅπλα αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς
Jer 50:11 Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls; Jer 50:11 "Because you are glad, because you are jubilant, O you who pillage My heritage, Because you skip about like a threshing heifer And neigh like stallions, Jer 50:11 καὶ εἰσελεύσεται καὶ πατάξει γῆν Αἰγύπτου οὓς εἰς θάνατον εἰς θάνατον καὶ οὓς εἰς ἀποικισμόν εἰς ἀποικισμόν καὶ οὕς εἰς ῥομφαίαν εἰς ῥομφαίαν
Jer 50:12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. Jer 50:12 Your mother will be greatly ashamed, She who gave you birth will be humiliated. Behold, she will be the least of the nations, A wilderness, a parched land and a desert. Jer 50:13 Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues. Jer 50:13 "Because of the indignation of the Lord she will not be inhabited, But she will be completely desolate; Everyone who passes by Babylon will be horrified And will hiss because of all her wounds. Jer 50 14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows for she hath sinned against the LORD. Jer 50:14 "Draw up your battle lines against Babylon on every side, All you who bend the bow; Shoot at her, do not be sparing with your arrows, For she has sinned against the Lord. Jer 50:15 Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her. Jer 50:15 "Raise your battle cry against her on every side! She has given herself up, her pillars have fallen, Her walls have been torn down. Jer 50:16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land. Jer 50:17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones. Jer 50:24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD. Jer 50:24 "I set a snare for you and you were also caught, O Babylon, While you yourself were not aware; You have been found and also seized Because you have engaged in conflict with the Lord." Jer 50 45 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.
