Luk 7:2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. Luk 7:2 And a centurion's slave, who was highly regarded by him, was sick and about to die.
Luk 7:3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant. Luk 7:3 When he heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders asking Him to come and save the life of his slave.
Luk 7:4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: Luk 7:4 When they came to Jesus, they earnestly implored Him, saying," He is worthy for You to grant this to him; Luk 7:4 οἱ δὲ παραγενόμενοι πρὸς τὸν ἰησοῦν παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν σπουδαίως, λέγοντες ὅτι ἄξιός ἐστιν ᾧ παρέξῃ τοῦτο,
Luk 7:5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. Luk 7:5 for he loves our nation and it was he who built us our synagogue."
Luk 7 6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof Luk 7:6 Now Jesus started on His way with them; and when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him," Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to come under my roof; Luk 7:6 ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἐπορεύετο σὺν αὐτοῖς.
Luk 7:7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. Luk 7:7 for this reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
Luk 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. Luk 7:8 For I also am a man placed under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, 'Go! 'and he goes, and to another, 'Come! 'and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this! 'and he does it."
Luk 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Luk 7:9 Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and turned and said to the crowd that was following Him," I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith."
Luk 7:10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick. Luk 7:10 When those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.

Luk 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Luk 8:11 "Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.
Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luk 8:12 Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.
Luk 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. Luk 8:13 Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. Luk 8:14 The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. Luk 8:15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.
Luk 8:16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. Luk 8:16 "Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light.
Luk 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. Luk 8:17 For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.
Luk 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. Luk 8:18 So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him."
Luk 8:19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. Luk 8:19 And His mother and brothers came to Him, and they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd.
Luk 8:20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. Luk 8:20 And it was reported to Him," Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wishing to see You."
Luk 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. Luk 8:21 But He answered and said to them," My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it."
Luk 8:22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. Luk 8:22 Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them," Let us go over to the other side of the lake." So they launched out.
Luk 8:23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. Luk 8:23 But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger.
Luk 8:24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. Luk 8:24 They came to Jesus and woke Him up, saying," Master, Master, we are perishing!" And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm.
Luk 8:25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. Luk 8:25 And He said to them," Where is your faith?" They were fearful and amazed, saying to one another," Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?" Luk 8:25 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς, ποῦ ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν; φοβηθέντες δὲ ἐθαύμασαν, λέγοντες πρὸς ἀλλήλους, τίς ἄρα οὖτός ἐστιν ὅτι καὶ τοῖς ἀνέμοις ἐπιτάσσει καὶ τῶ ὕδατι, καὶ ὑπακούουσιν αὐτῶ;
Luk 8:26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. Luk 8:26 Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee.
Luk 8:27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. Luk 8:27 And when He came out onto the land, He was met by a man from the city who was possessed with demons; and who had not put on any clothing for a long time, and was not living in a house, but in the tombs.
Luk 8:28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. Luk 8:28 Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice," What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me."
Luk 8:29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) Luk 8:29 For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and yet he would break his bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.
Luk 8:30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. Luk 8:30 And Jesus asked him," What is your name?" And he said," Legion"; for many demons had entered him.
Luk 8:31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. Luk 8:31 They were imploring Him not to command them to go away into the abyss.
Luk 8:32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. Luk 8:32 Now there was a herd of many swine feeding there on the mountain; and the demons implored Him to permit them to enter the swine. And He gave them permission.
Luk 8:33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. Luk 8:33 And the demons came out of the man and entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
Luk 8:34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. Luk 8:34 When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran away and reported it in the city and out in the country.
Luk 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. Luk 8:35 The people went out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting down at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they became frightened.
Luk 8:36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. Luk 8:36 Those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon-possessed had been made well.
Luk 8:37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again. Luk 8:37 And all the people of the country of the Gerasenes and the surrounding district asked Him to leave them, for they were gripped with great fear; and He got into a boat and returned.
Luk 8:38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, Luk 8:38 But the man from whom the demons had gone out was begging Him that he might accompany Him; but He sent him away, saying, Luk 8:38 ἐδεῖτο δὲ αὐτοῦ ὁ ἀνὴρ ἀφ᾽ οὖ ἐξεληλύθει τὰ δαιμόνια εἶναι σὺν αὐτῶ· ἀπέλυσεν δὲ αὐτὸν λέγων,
Luk 8:39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. Luk 8:39 "Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you." So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
Luk 8:40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. Luk 8:40 And as Jesus returned, the people welcomed Him, for they had all been waiting for Him.
Luk 8 41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house Luk 8:41 And there came a man named Jairus, and he was an official of the synagogue; and he fell at Jesus' feet, and began to implore Him to come to his house; Luk 8:41 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἦλθεν ἀνὴρ ᾧ ὄνομα ἰάϊρος, καὶ οὖτος ἄρχων τῆς συναγωγῆς ὑπῆρχεν, καὶ πεσὼν παρὰ τοὺς πόδας [τοῦ] ἰησοῦ παρεκάλει αὐτὸν εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ,
Luk 8:42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him. Luk 8:42 for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. But as He went, the crowds were pressing against Him.
Luk 8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Luk 8:43 And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, Luk 8:43 καὶ γυνὴ οὗσα ἐν ῥύσει αἵματος ἀπὸ ἐτῶν δώδεκα, ἥτις [ἰατροῖς προσαναλώσασα ὅλον τὸν βίον] οὐκ ἴσχυσεν ἀπ᾽ οὐδενὸς θεραπευθῆναι,
Luk 8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. Luk 8:44 came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped.
Luk 8:45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? Luk 8:45 And Jesus said," Who is the one who touched Me?" And while they were all denying it, Peter said," Master, the people are crowding and pressing in on You."
Luk 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. Luk 8:46 But Jesus said," Someone did touch Me, for I was aware that power had gone out of Me."
Luk 8:47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. Luk 8:47 When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before Him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed.
Luk 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. Luk 8:48 And He said to her," Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace."
Luk 8:49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. Luk 8:49 While He was still speaking, someone *came from the house of the synagogue official, saying," Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore."
Luk 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. Luk 8:50 But when Jesus heard this, He answered him," Do not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she will be made well."
Luk 8:51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. Luk 8:51 When He came to the house, He did not allow anyone to enter with Him, except Peter and John and James, and the girl's father and mother.
Luk 8:52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. Luk 8:52 Now they were all weeping and lamenting for her; but He said," Stop weeping, for she has not died, but is asleep."
Luk 8:53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. Luk 8:53 And they began laughing at Him, knowing that she had died.
Luk 8:54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. Luk 8:54 He, however, took her by the hand and called, saying," Child, arise!"
Luk 8:55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. Luk 8:55 And her spirit returned, and she got up immediately; and He gave orders for something to be given her to eat.
Luk 8:56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done. Luk 8:56 Her parents were amazed; but He instructed them to tell no one what had happened.
