Day - 022 - Exodus 21-23
Exo 21:1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them. Exo 21:1 "Now these are the ordinances which you are to set before them: Exo 21:1 καὶ ταῦτα τὰ δικαιώματα ἃ παραθήσεις ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν
Exo 21:2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. Exo 21:2 "If you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years; but on the seventh he shall go out as a free man without payment. Exo 21:2 ἐὰν κτήσῃ παῖδα Εβραῖον ἓξ ἔτη δουλεύσει σοι τῷ δὲ ἑβδόμῳ ἔτει ἀπελεύσεται ἐλεύθερος δωρεάν
Exo 21:3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. Exo 21:3 If he comes alone, he shall go out alone; if he is the husband of a wife, then his wife shall go out with him. Exo 21:3 ἐὰν αὐτὸς μόνος εἰσέλθῃ καὶ μόνος ἐξελεύσεται ἐὰν δὲ γυνὴ συνεισέλθῃ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται καὶ ἡ γυνὴ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ
Exo 21:4 If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. Exo 21:4 If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall belong to her master, and he shall go out alone. Exo 21:4 ἐὰν δὲ ὁ κύριος δῷ αὐτῷ γυναῖκα καὶ τέκῃ αὐτῷ υἱοὺς ἢ θυγατέρας ἡ γυνὴ καὶ τὰ παιδία ἔσται τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς δὲ μόνος ἐξελεύσεται
Exo 21:5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: Exo 21:5 But if the slave plainly says, 'I love my master, my wife and my children; I will not go out as a free man,' Exo 21:5 ἐὰν δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἴπῃ ὁ παῖς ἠγάπηκα τὸν κύριόν μου καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ τὰ παιδία οὐκ ἀποτρέχω ἐλεύθερος
Exo 21:6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever. Exo 21:6 then his master shall bring him to God, then he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him permanently. Exo 21:6 προσάξει αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸ κριτήριον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τότε προσάξει αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν ἐπὶ τὸν σταθμόν καὶ τρυπήσει αὐτοῦ ὁ κύριος τὸ οὖς τῷ ὀπητίῳ καὶ δουλεύσει αὐτῷ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
Exo 21:7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. Exo 21:7 "If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do. Exo 21:7 ἐὰν δέ τις ἀποδῶται τὴν ἑαυτοῦ θυγατέρα οἰκέτιν οὐκ ἀπελεύσεται ὥσπερ ἀποτρέχουσιν αἱ δοῦλαι
Exo 21:8 If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. Exo 21:8 If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He does not have authority to sell her to a foreign people because of his unfairness to her. Exo 21:8 ἐὰν μὴ εὐαρεστήσῃ τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῆς ἣν αὑτῷ καθωμολογήσατο ἀπολυτρώσει αὐτήν ἔθνει δὲ ἀλλοτρίῳ οὐ κύριός ἐστιν πωλεῖν αὐτήν ὅτι ἠθέτησεν ἐν αὐτῇ
Exo 21:9 And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. Exo 21:9 If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her according to the custom of daughters. Exo 21:9 ἐὰν δὲ τῷ υἱῷ καθομολογήσηται αὐτήν κατὰ τὸ δικαίωμα τῶν θυγατέρων ποιήσει αὐτῇ
Exo 21:10 If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. Exo 21:10 If he takes to himself another woman, he may not reduce her food, her clothing, or her conjugal rights. Exo 21:10 ἐὰν δὲ ἄλλην λάβῃ ἑαυτῷ τὰ δέοντα καὶ τὸν ἱματισμὸν καὶ τὴν ὁμιλίαν αὐτῆς οὐκ ἀποστερήσει
Exo 21:11 And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money. Exo 21:11 If he will not do these three things for her, then she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money. Exo 21:11 ἐὰν δὲ τὰ τρία ταῦτα μὴ ποιήσῃ αὐτῇ ἐξελεύσεται δωρεὰν ἄνευ ἀργυρίου
Exo 21:12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. Exo 21:12 "He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death. Exo 21:12 ἐὰν δὲ πατάξῃ τίς τινα καὶ ἀποθάνῃ θανάτῳ θανατούσθω
Exo 21:13 And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee. Exo 21:13 But if he did not lie in wait for him, but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint you a place to which he may flee. Exo 21:13 ὁ δὲ οὐχ ἑκών ἀλλὰ ὁ θεὸς παρέδωκεν εἰς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ δώσω σοι τόπον οὗ φεύξεται ἐκεῖ ὁ φονεύσας
Exo 21:14 But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die. Exo 21:14 If, however, a man acts presumptuously toward his neighbor, so as to kill him craftily, you are to take him even from My altar, that he may die. Exo 21:14 ἐὰν δέ τις ἐπιθῆται τῷ πλησίον ἀποκτεῖναι αὐτὸν δόλῳ καὶ καταφύγῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου μου λήμψῃ αὐτὸν θανατῶσαι
Exo 21:15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. Exo 21:15 "He who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. Exo 21:15 ὃς τύπτει πατέρα αὐτοῦ ἢ μητέρα αὐτοῦ θανάτῳ θανατούσθω
Exo 21:16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. Exo 21:16 "He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death. Exo 21:16 ὁ κακολογῶν πατέρα αὐτοῦ ἢ μητέρα αὐτοῦ τελευτήσει θανάτῳ
Exo 21:17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. Exo 21:17 "He who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. Exo 21:17 ὃς ἐὰν κλέψῃ τίς τινα τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ καταδυναστεύσας αὐτὸν ἀποδῶται καὶ εὑρεθῇ ἐν αὐτῷ θανάτῳ τελευτάτω
Exo 21:18 And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed: Exo 21:18 "If men have a quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or with his fist, and he does not die but remains in bed, Exo 21:18 ἐὰν δὲ λοιδορῶνται δύο ἄνδρες καὶ πατάξῃ τις τὸν πλησίον λίθῳ ἢ πυγμῇ καὶ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ κατακλιθῇ δὲ ἐπὶ τὴν κοίτην
Exo 21:19 If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. Exo 21:19 if he gets up and walks around outside on his staff, then he who struck him shall go unpunished; he shall only pay for his loss of time, and shall take care of him until he is completely healed. Exo 21:19 ἐὰν ἐξαναστὰς ὁ ἄνθρωπος περιπατήσῃ ἔξω ἐπὶ ῥάβδου ἀθῷος ἔσται ὁ πατάξας πλὴν τῆς ἀργίας αὐτοῦ ἀποτείσει καὶ τὰ ἰατρεῖα
Exo 21:20 And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Exo 21:20 "If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished. Exo 21:20 ἐὰν δέ τις πατάξῃ τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ ἢ τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ ἐν ῥάβδῳ καὶ ἀποθάνῃ ὑπὸ τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ δίκῃ ἐκδικηθήτω
Exo 21:21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money. Exo 21:21 If, however, he survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken; for he is his property. Exo 21:21 ἐὰν δὲ διαβιώσῃ ἡμέραν μίαν ἢ δύο οὐκ ἐκδικηθήσεται τὸ γὰρ ἀργύριον αὐτοῦ ἐστιν
Exo 21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. Exo 21:22 "If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. Exo 21:22 ἐὰν δὲ μάχωνται δύο ἄνδρες καὶ πατάξωσιν γυναῖκα ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσαν καὶ ἐξέλθῃ τὸ παιδίον αὐτῆς μὴ ἐξεικονισμένον ἐπιζήμιον ζημιωθήσεται καθότι ἂν ἐπιβάλῃ ὁ ἀνὴρ τῆς γυναικός δώσει μετὰ ἀξιώματος
Exo 21:23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Exo 21:23 But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, Exo 21:23 ἐὰν δὲ ἐξεικονισμένον ἦν δώσει ψυχὴν ἀντὶ ψυχῆς
Exo 21:24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Exo 21:24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Exo 21:24 ὀφθαλμὸν ἀντὶ ὀφθαλμοῦ ὀδόντα ἀντὶ ὀδόντος χεῖρα ἀντὶ χειρός πόδα ἀντὶ ποδός
Exo 21:25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. Exo 21:25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. Exo 21:25 κατάκαυμα ἀντὶ κατακαύματος τραῦμα ἀντὶ τραύματος μώλωπα ἀντὶ μώλωπος
Exo 21:26 And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. Exo 21:26 "If a man strikes the eye of his male or female slave, and destroys it, he shall let him go free on account of his eye. Exo 21:26 ἐὰν δέ τις πατάξῃ τὸν ὀφθαλμὸν τοῦ οἰκέτου αὐτοῦ ἢ τὸν ὀφθαλμὸν τῆς θεραπαίνης αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκτυφλώσῃ ἐλευθέρους ἐξαποστελεῖ αὐτοὺς ἀντὶ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ αὐτῶν
Exo 21:27 And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake. Exo 21:27 And if he knocks out a tooth of his male or female slave, he shall let him go free on account of his tooth. Exo 21:27 ἐὰν δὲ τὸν ὀδόντα τοῦ οἰκέτου ἢ τὸν ὀδόντα τῆς θεραπαίνης αὐτοῦ ἐκκόψῃ ἐλευθέρους ἐξαποστελεῖ αὐτοὺς ἀντὶ τοῦ ὀδόντος αὐτῶν
Exo 21:28 If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit. Exo 21:28 "If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, the ox shall surely be stoned and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall go unpunished. Exo 21:28 ἐὰν δὲ κερατίσῃ ταῦρος ἄνδρα ἢ γυναῖκα καὶ ἀποθάνῃ λίθοις λιθοβοληθήσεται ὁ ταῦρος καὶ οὐ βρωθήσεται τὰ κρέα αὐτοῦ ὁ δὲ κύριος τοῦ ταύρου ἀθῷος ἔσται
Exo 21:29 But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. Exo 21:29 If, however, an ox was previously in the habit of goring and its owner has been warned, yet he does not confine it and it kills a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned and its owner also shall be put to death. Exo 21:29 ἐὰν δὲ ὁ ταῦρος κερατιστὴς ᾖ πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς καὶ πρὸ τῆς τρίτης καὶ διαμαρτύρωνται τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ ἀφανίσῃ αὐτόν ἀνέλῃ δὲ ἄνδρα ἢ γυναῖκα ὁ ταῦρος λιθοβοληθήσεται καὶ ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ προσαποθανεῖται
Exo 21:30 If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him. Exo 21:30 If a ransom is demanded of him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is demanded of him. Exo 21:30 ἐὰν δὲ λύτρα ἐπιβληθῇ αὐτῷ δώσει λύτρα τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐὰν ἐπιβάλωσιν αὐτῷ
Exo 21:31 Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him. Exo 21:31 Whether it gores a son or a daughter, it shall be done to him according to the same rule. Exo 21:31 ἐὰν δὲ υἱὸν ἢ θυγατέρα κερατίσῃ κατὰ τὸ δικαίωμα τοῦτο ποιήσουσιν αὐτῷ
Exo 21:32 If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. Exo 21:32 If the ox gores a male or female slave, the owner shall give his or her master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. Exo 21:32 ἐὰν δὲ παῖδα κερατίσῃ ὁ ταῦρος ἢ παιδίσκην ἀργυρίου τριάκοντα δίδραχμα δώσει τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῶν καὶ ὁ ταῦρος λιθοβοληθήσεται
Exo 21:33 And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein; Exo 21:33 "If a man opens a pit, or digs a pit and does not cover it over, and an ox or a donkey falls into it, Exo 21:33 ἐὰν δέ τις ἀνοίξῃ λάκκον ἢ λατομήσῃ λάκκον καὶ μὴ καλύψῃ αὐτόν καὶ ἐμπέσῃ ἐκεῖ μόσχος ἢ ὄνος
Exo 21:34 The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his. Exo 21:34 the owner of the pit shall make restitution; he shall give money to its owner, and the dead animal shall become his. Exo 21:34 ὁ κύριος τοῦ λάκκου ἀποτείσει ἀργύριον δώσει τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῶν τὸ δὲ τετελευτηκὸς αὐτῷ ἔσται
Exo 21:35 And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide. Exo 21:35 "If one man's ox hurts another's so that it dies, then they shall sell the live ox and divide its price equally; and also they shall divide the dead ox. Exo 21:35 ἐὰν δὲ κερατίσῃ τινὸς ταῦρος τὸν ταῦρον τοῦ πλησίον καὶ τελευτήσῃ ἀποδώσονται τὸν ταῦρον τὸν ζῶντα καὶ διελοῦνται τὸ ἀργύριον αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν ταῦρον τὸν τεθνηκότα διελοῦνται
Exo 21:36 Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own. Exo 21:36 Or if it is known that the ox was previously in the habit of goring, yet its owner has not confined it, he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead animal shall become his. Exo 21:36 ἐὰν δὲ γνωρίζηται ὁ ταῦρος ὅτι κερατιστής ἐστιν πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς καὶ πρὸ τῆς τρίτης ἡμέρας καὶ διαμεμαρτυρημένοι ὦσιν τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ ἀφανίσῃ αὐτόν ἀποτείσει ταῦρον ἀντὶ ταύρου ὁ δὲ τετελευτηκὼς αὐτῷ ἔσται
Exo 22:1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. Exo 22:1 "If a man steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for the ox and four sheep for the sheep. Exo 21:37 ἐὰν δέ τις κλέψῃ μόσχον ἢ πρόβατον καὶ σφάξῃ αὐτὸ ἢ ἀποδῶται πέντε μόσχους ἀποτείσει ἀντὶ τοῦ μόσχου καὶ τέσσαρα πρόβατα ἀντὶ τοῦ προβάτου
Exo 22:2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. Exo 22:2 "If the thief is caught while breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there will be no bloodguiltiness on his account. Exo 22:1 ἐὰν δὲ ἐν τῷ διορύγματι εὑρεθῇ ὁ κλέπτης καὶ πληγεὶς ἀποθάνῃ οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτῷ φόνος
Exo 22:3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. Exo 22:3 But if the sun has risen on him, there will be bloodguiltiness on his account. He shall surely make restitution; if he owns nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. Exo 22:2 ἐὰν δὲ ἀνατείλῃ ὁ ἥλιος ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ ἔνοχός ἐστιν ἀνταποθανεῖται ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ὑπάρχῃ αὐτῷ πραθήτω ἀντὶ τοῦ κλέμματος
Exo 22:4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double. Exo 22:4 If what he stole is actually found alive in his possession, whether an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he shall pay double. Exo 22:3 ἐὰν δὲ καταλημφθῇ καὶ εὑρεθῇ ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ τὸ κλέμμα ἀπό τε ὄνου ἕως προβάτου ζῶντα διπλᾶ αὐτὰ ἀποτείσει
Exo 22:5 If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution. Exo 22:5 "If a man lets a field or vineyard be grazed bare and lets his animal loose so that it grazes in another man's field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field and the best of his own vineyard. Exo 22:4 ἐὰν δὲ καταβοσκήσῃ τις ἀγρὸν ἢ ἀμπελῶνα καὶ ἀφῇ τὸ κτῆνος αὐτοῦ καταβοσκῆσαι ἀγρὸν ἕτερον ἀποτείσει ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ αὐτοῦ κατὰ τὸ γένημα αὐτοῦ ἐὰν δὲ πάντα τὸν ἀγρὸν καταβοσκήσῃ τὰ βέλτιστα τοῦ ἀγροῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ βέλτιστα τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος αὐτοῦ ἀποτείσει
Exo 22:6 If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution. Exo 22:6 "If a fire breaks out and spreads to thorn bushes, so that stacked grain or the standing grain or the field itself is consumed, he who started the fire shall surely make restitution. Exo 22:5 ἐὰν δὲ ἐξελθὸν πῦρ εὕρῃ ἀκάνθας καὶ προσεμπρήσῃ ἅλωνα ἢ στάχυς ἢ πεδίον ἀποτείσει ὁ τὸ πῦρ ἐκκαύσας
Exo 22:7 If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double. Exo 22:7 "If a man gives his neighbor money or goods to keep for him and it is stolen from the man's house, if the thief is caught, he shall pay double. Exo 22:6 ἐὰν δέ τις δῷ τῷ πλησίον ἀργύριον ἢ σκεύη φυλάξαι καὶ κλαπῇ ἐκ τῆς οἰκίας τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐὰν εὑρεθῇ ὁ κλέψας ἀποτείσει διπλοῦν
Exo 22:8 If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods. Exo 22:8 If the thief is not caught, then the owner of the house shall appear before the judges, to determine whether he laid his hands on his neighbor's property. Exo 22:7 ἐὰν δὲ μὴ εὑρεθῇ ὁ κλέψας προσελεύσεται ὁ κύριος τῆς οἰκίας ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ὀμεῖται ἦ μὴν μὴ αὐτὸς πεπονηρεῦσθαι ἐφ᾽ ὅλης τῆς παρακαταθήκης τοῦ πλησίον
Exo 22:9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour. Exo 22:9 For every breach of trust, whether it is for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any lost thing about which one says, 'This is it,' the case of both parties shall come before the judges; he whom the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor. Exo 22:8 κατὰ πᾶν ῥητὸν ἀδίκημα περί τε μόσχου καὶ ὑποζυγίου καὶ προβάτου καὶ ἱματίου καὶ πάσης ἀπωλείας τῆς ἐγκαλουμένης ὅ τι οὖν ἂν ᾖ ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐλεύσεται ἡ κρίσις ἀμφοτέρων καὶ ὁ ἁλοὺς διὰ τοῦ θεοῦ ἀποτείσει διπλοῦν τῷ πλησίον

Exo 22:11 Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good. Exo 22:11 an oath before the Lord shall be made by the two of them that he has not laid hands on his neighbor's property; and its owner shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution. Exo 22:14 And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good. Exo 22:17 If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins. Exo 22:24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless. Exo 22:25 If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury. Exo 22:26 If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down: Exo 22:26 If you ever take your neighbor's cloak as a pledge, you are to return it to him before the sun sets, Exo 22:25 ἐὰν δὲ ἐνεχύρασμα ἐνεχυράσῃς τὸ ἱμάτιον τοῦ πλησίον πρὸ δυσμῶν ἡλίου ἀποδώσεις αὐτῷ
Exo 22:27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious. Exo 22:27 for that is his only covering; it is his cloak for his body. What else shall he sleep in? And it shall come about that when he cries out to Me, I will hear him, for I am gracious. Exo 22:30 Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me. Exo 22:31 And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs. Exo 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. Exo 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment: Exo 23:2 You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice; Exo 23:2 οὐκ ἔσῃ μετὰ πλειόνων ἐπὶ κακίᾳ οὐ προστεθήσῃ μετὰ πλήθους ἐκκλῖναι μετὰ πλειόνων ὥστε ἐκκλῖναι κρίσιν
Exo 23:3 Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause. Exo 23:3 nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his dispute. Exo 23:3 καὶ πένητα οὐκ ἐλεήσεις ἐν κρίσει
Exo 23:4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again. Exo 23:4 "If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him. Exo 23:4 ἐὰν δὲ συναντήσῃς τῷ βοὶ τοῦ ἐχθροῦ σου ἢ τῷ ὑποζυγίῳ αὐτοῦ πλανωμένοις ἀποστρέψας ἀποδώσεις αὐτῷ
Exo 23:5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him. Exo 23:5 If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall refrain from leaving it to him, you shall surely release it with him. Exo 23:5 ἐὰν δὲ ἴδῃς τὸ ὑποζύγιον τοῦ ἐχθροῦ σου πεπτωκὸς ὑπὸ τὸν γόμον αὐτοῦ οὐ παρελεύσῃ αὐτό ἀλλὰ συνεγερεῖς αὐτὸ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ
Exo 23:6 Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause. Exo 23:6 "You shall not pervert the justice due to your needy brother in his dispute. Exo 23:6 οὐ διαστρέψεις κρίμα πένητος ἐν κρίσει αὐτοῦ
Exo 23:7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked. Exo 23:7 Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty. Exo 23:7 ἀπὸ παντὸς ῥήματος ἀδίκου ἀποστήσῃ ἀθῷον καὶ δίκαιον οὐκ ἀποκτενεῖς καὶ οὐ δικαιώσεις τὸν ἀσεβῆ ἕνεκεν δώρων
Exo 23:8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous. Exo 23:8 "You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of the just. Exo 23:8 καὶ δῶρα οὐ λήμψῃ τὰ γὰρ δῶρα ἐκτυφλοῖ ὀφθαλμοὺς βλεπόντων καὶ λυμαίνεται ῥήματα δίκαια
Exo 23:9 Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. Exo 23:9 "You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the feelings of a stranger, for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt. Exo 23:10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: Exo 23:10 "You shall sow your land for six years and gather in its yield, Exo 23:10 ἓξ ἔτη σπερεῖς τὴν γῆν σου καὶ συνάξεις τὰ γενήματα αὐτῆς
Exo 23:11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard. Exo 23:11 but on the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, so that the needy of your people may eat; and whatever they leave the beast of the field may eat. You are to do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove. Exo 23:12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed. Exo 23:12 "Six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you shall cease from labor so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as your stranger, may refresh themselves. Exo 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth. Exo 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty ) Exo 23:15 You shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. And none shall appear before Me empty-handed. Exo 23:15 τὴν ἑορτὴν τῶν ἀζύμων φυλάξασθε ποιεῖν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἔδεσθε ἄζυμα καθάπερ ἐνετειλάμην σοι κατὰ τὸν καιρὸν τοῦ μηνὸς τῶν νέων ἐν γὰρ αὐτῷ ἐξῆλθες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου οὐκ ὀφθήσῃ ἐνώπιόν μου κενός
Exo 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field. Exo 23:16 Also you shall observe the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field. Exo 23:16 καὶ ἑορτὴν θερισμοῦ πρωτογενημάτων ποιήσεις τῶν ἔργων σου ὧν ἐὰν σπείρῃς ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ σου καὶ ἑορτὴν συντελείας ἐπ᾽ ἐξόδου τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ τῶν ἔργων σου τῶν ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ σου
Exo 23:17 Three items in the year all thy males shall appear before the LORD God. Exo 23:17 Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord God. Exo 23:17 τρεῖς καιροὺς τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ ὀφθήσεται πᾶν ἀρσενικόν σου ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου
Exo 23:18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning. Exo 23:18 ὅταν γὰρ ἐκβάλω ἔθνη ἀπὸ προσώπου σου καὶ ἐμπλατύνω τὰ ὅριά σου οὐ θύσεις ἐπὶ ζύμῃ αἷμα θυσιάσματός μου οὐδὲ μὴ κοιμηθῇ στέαρ τῆς ἑορτῆς μου ἕως πρωί
Exo 23:19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. Exo 23:19 "You shall bring the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God." You are not to boil a young goat in the milk of its mother. Exo 23:19 τὰς ἀπαρχὰς τῶν πρωτογενημάτων τῆς γῆς σου εἰσοίσεις εἰς τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου οὐχ ἑψήσεις ἄρνα ἐν γάλακτι μητρὸς αὐτοῦ
Exo 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Exo 23:20 "Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Exo 23:20 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου ἵνα φυλάξῃ σε ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ ὅπως εἰσαγάγῃ σε εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ἡτοίμασά σοι
Exo 23:21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. Exo 23:21 Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him. Exo 23:21 πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ καὶ εἰσάκουε αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ ἀπείθει αὐτῷ οὐ γὰρ μὴ ὑποστείληταί σε τὸ γὰρ ὄνομά μού ἐστιν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ
Exo 23:22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. Exo 23:22 But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. Exo 23:22 ἐὰν ἀκοῇ ἀκούσητε τῆς ἐμῆς φωνῆς καὶ ποιήσῃς πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωμαί σοι καὶ φυλάξητε τὴν διαθήκην μου ἔσεσθέ μοι λαὸς περιούσιος ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐμὴ γάρ ἐστιν πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ὑμεῖς δὲ ἔσεσθέ μοι βασίλειον ἱεράτευμα καὶ ἔθνος ἅγιον ταῦτα τὰ ῥήματα ἐρεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἐὰν ἀκοῇ ἀκούσητε τῆς φωνῆς μου καὶ ποιήσῃς πάντα ὅσα ἂν εἴπω σοι ἐχθρεύσω τοῖς ἐχθροῖς σου καὶ ἀντικείσομαι τοῖς ἀντικειμένοις σοι
Exo 23:23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. Exo 23:23 For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them. Exo 23:23 πορεύσεται γὰρ ὁ ἄγγελός μου ἡγούμενός σου καὶ εἰσάξει σε πρὸς τὸν Αμορραῖον καὶ Χετταῖον καὶ Φερεζαῖον καὶ Χαναναῖον καὶ Γεργεσαῖον καὶ Ευαῖον καὶ Ιεβουσαῖον καὶ ἐκτρίψω αὐτούς
Exo 23:24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. Exo 23:24 You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces. Exo 23:24 οὐ προσκυνήσεις τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν οὐδὲ μὴ λατρεύσῃς αὐτοῖς οὐ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν ἀλλὰ καθαιρέσει καθελεῖς καὶ συντρίβων συντρίψεις τὰς στήλας αὐτῶν
Exo 23:25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
