2Ch 17:1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel. 2 Chr 17:1 Jehoshaphat his son then became king in his place, and made his position over Israel firm. Ch2 17:1 καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ κατίσχυσεν Ιωσαφατ ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ
2Ch 17:2 And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken. 2 Chr 17:2 He placed troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim which Asa his father had captured. Ch2 17:2 καὶ ἔδωκεν δύναμιν ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα ταῖς ὀχυραῖς καὶ κατέστησεν ἡγουμένους ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ ἐν πόλεσιν Εφραιμ ἃς προκατελάβετο Ασα ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ
2Ch 17:3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; 2 Chr 17:3 The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father David's earlier days and did not seek the Baals, Ch2 17:3 καὶ ἐγένετο κύριος μετὰ Ιωσαφατ ὅτι ἐπορεύθη ἐν ὁδοῖς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ταῖς πρώταις καὶ οὐκ ἐξεζήτησεν τὰ εἴδωλα
2Ch 17:4 But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. 2 Chr 17:4 but sought the God of his father, followed His commandments, and did not act as Israel did. Ch2 17:4 ἀλλὰ κύριον τὸν θεὸν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐξεζήτησεν καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἐντολαῖς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐπορεύθη καὶ οὐχ ὡς τοῦ Ισραηλ τὰ ἔργα
2Ch 17:5 Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance. 2 Chr 17:5 So the Lord established the kingdom in his control, and all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had great riches and honor. Ch2 17:5 καὶ κατηύθυνεν κύριος τὴν βασιλείαν ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔδωκεν πᾶς Ιουδα δῶρα τῷ Ιωσαφατ καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῷ πλοῦτος καὶ δόξα πολλή
2Ch 17:6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah. 2 Chr 17:6 He took great pride in the ways of the Lord and again removed the high places and the Asherim from Judah. Ch2 17:6 καὶ ὑψώθη καρδία αὐτοῦ ἐν ὁδῷ κυρίου καὶ ἔτι ἐξῆρεν τὰ ὑψηλὰ καὶ τὰ ἄλση ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς Ιουδα
2Ch 17:7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah. 2 Chr 17:7 Then in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah; Ch2 17:7 καὶ ἐν τῷ τρίτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἀπέστειλεν τοὺς ἡγουμένους αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν δυνατῶν τὸν Αβδιαν καὶ Ζαχαριαν καὶ Ναθαναηλ καὶ Μιχαιαν διδάσκειν ἐν πόλεσιν Ιουδα
2Ch 17:8 And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests. 2 Chr 17:8 and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests. 2Ch 17:9 And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people. 2 Chr 17:9 They taught in Judah, having the book of the law of the Lord with them; and they went throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people. Ch2 17:9 καὶ ἐδίδασκον ἐν Ιουδα καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτῶν βύβλος νόμου κυρίου καὶ διῆλθον ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ ἐδίδασκον τὸν λαόν
2Ch 17:10 And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat. 2 Chr 17:10 Now the dread of the Lord was on all the kingdoms of the lands which were around Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat. Ch2 17:10 καὶ ἐγένετο ἔκστασις κυρίου ἐπὶ πάσαις ταῖς βασιλείαις τῆς γῆς ταῖς κύκλῳ Ιουδα καὶ οὐκ ἐπολέμουν πρὸς Ιωσαφατ
2Ch 17:11 Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats. 2 Chr 17:11 Some of the Philistines brought gifts and silver as tribute to Jehoshaphat; the Arabians also brought him flocks, 7,700 rams and 7,700 male goats. Ch2 17:11 καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων ἔφερον τῷ Ιωσαφατ δῶρα καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ δόματα καὶ οἱ Ἄραβες ἔφερον αὐτῷ κριοὺς προβάτων ἑπτακισχιλίους ἑπτακοσίους
2Ch 17:12 And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store. 2 Chr 17:12 So Jehoshaphat grew greater and greater, and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah. Ch2 17:12 καὶ ἦν Ιωσαφατ πορευόμενος μείζων ἕως εἰς ὕψος καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν οἰκήσεις ἐν τῇ Ιουδαίᾳ καὶ πόλεις ὀχυράς
2Ch 17:13 And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem. 2 Chr 17:13 He had large supplies in the cities of Judah, and warriors, valiant men, in Jerusalem. Ch2 17:13 καὶ ἔργα πολλὰ ἐγένετο αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ Ιουδαίᾳ καὶ ἄνδρες πολεμισταὶ δυνατοὶ ἰσχύοντες ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
2Ch 17:14 And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand. 2 Chr 17:14 This was their muster according to their fathers' households: of Judah, commanders of thousands, Adnah was the commander, and with him 300,000 valiant warriors; Ch2 17:14 καὶ οὗτος ἀριθμὸς αὐτῶν κατ᾽ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν τῷ Ιουδα χιλίαρχοι Εδνας ὁ ἄρχων καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ υἱοὶ δυνατοὶ δυνάμεως τριακόσιαι χιλιάδες
2Ch 17:15 And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand. 2 Chr 17:15 and next to him was Johanan the commander, and with him 280,000; Ch2 17:15 καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτὸν Ιωαναν ὁ ἡγούμενος καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ διακόσιαι ὀγδοήκοντα χιλιάδες
2Ch 17:16 And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour. 2 Chr 17:16 and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who volunteered for the Lord, and with him 200,000 valiant warriors; Ch2 17:16 καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτὸν Αμασιας ὁ τοῦ Ζαχρι ὁ προθυμούμενος τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ διακόσιαι χιλιάδες δυνατοὶ δυνάμεως
2Ch 17:17 And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand. 2 Chr 17:17 and of Benjamin, Eliada a valiant warrior, and with him 200,000 armed with bow and shield; Ch2 17:17 καὶ ἐκ τοῦ Βενιαμιν δυνατὸς δυνάμεως Ελιαδα καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ τοξόται καὶ πελτασταὶ διακόσιαι χιλιάδες
2Ch 17:18 And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war. 2 Chr 17:18 and next to him Jehozabad, and with him 180,000 equipped for war. Ch2 17:18 καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτὸν Ιωζαβαδ καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἑκατὸν ὀγδοήκοντα χιλιάδες δυνατοὶ πολέμου
2Ch 17:19 These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah. 2 Chr 17:19 These are they who served the king, apart from those whom the king put in the fortified cities through all Judah. Ch2 17:19 οὗτοι οἱ λειτουργοῦντες τῷ βασιλεῖ ἐκτὸς ὧν ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν ταῖς ὀχυραῖς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ Ιουδαίᾳ
2Ch 18:1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab. 2 Chr 18:1 Now Jehoshaphat had great riches and honor; and he allied himself by marriage with Ahab. Ch2 18:1 καὶ ἐγενήθη τῷ Ιωσαφατ ἔτι πλοῦτος καὶ δόξα πολλή καὶ ἐπεγαμβρεύσατο ἐν οἴκῳ Αχααβ
2Ch 18:2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead. 2 Chr 18:2 Some years later he went down to visit Ahab at Samaria. And Ahab slaughtered many sheep and oxen for him and the people who were with him, and induced him to go up against Ramoth-gilead. Ch2 18:2 καὶ κατέβη διὰ τέλους ἐτῶν πρὸς Αχααβ εἰς Σαμάρειαν καὶ ἔθυσεν αὐτῷ Αχααβ πρόβατα καὶ μόσχους πολλοὺς καὶ τῷ λαῷ τῷ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἠπάτα αὐτὸν τοῦ συναναβῆναι μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς Ραμωθ τῆς Γαλααδίτιδος
2Ch 18:3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war. 2 Chr 18:3 Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, "Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?" And he said to him, "I am as you are, and my people as your people, and we will be with you in the battle." Ch2 18:3 καὶ εἶπεν Αχααβ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ βασιλέα Ιουδα πορεύσῃ μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ εἰς Ραμωθ τῆς Γαλααδίτιδος καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὡς ἐγώ οὕτως καὶ σύ ὡς ὁ λαός σου καὶ ὁ λαός μου μετὰ σοῦ εἰς πόλεμον
2Ch 18:4 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day. 2 Chr 18:4 Moreover, Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, "Please inquire first for the word of the Lord." Ch2 18:4 καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσαφατ πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ ζήτησον δὴ σήμερον τὸν κύριον
2Ch 18:5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand. 2 Chr 18:5 Then the king of Israel assembled the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, "Shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" And they said, "Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king." Ch2 18:5 καὶ συνήγαγεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τοὺς προφήτας τετρακοσίους ἄνδρας καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς εἰ πορευθῶ εἰς Ραμωθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον ἢ ἐπίσχω καὶ εἶπαν ἀνάβαινε καὶ δώσει ὁ θεὸς εἰς τὰς χεῖρας τοῦ βασιλέως
2Ch 18:6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him? 2 Chr 18:6 But Jehoshaphat said, "Is there not yet a prophet of the Lord here that we may inquire of him?" Ch2 18:6 καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσαφατ οὐκ ἔστιν ὧδε προφήτης τοῦ κυρίου ἔτι καὶ ἐπιζητήσομεν παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ
2Ch 18 7 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so. 2 Chr 18:7 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me but always evil. He is Micaiah, son of Imla." But Jehoshaphat said, "Let not the king say so." Ch2 18:7 καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ ἔτι ἀνὴρ εἷς τοῦ ζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον δι᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγὼ ἐμίσησα αὐτόν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν προφητεύων περὶ ἐμοῦ εἰς ἀγαθά ὅτι πᾶσαι αἱ ἡμέραι αὐτοῦ εἰς κακά οὗτος Μιχαιας υἱὸς Ιεμλα καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσαφατ μὴ λαλείτω ὁ βασιλεὺς οὕτως
2Ch 18:8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla. 2 Chr 18:8 Then the king of Israel called an officer and said, "Bring quickly Micaiah, Imla's son." Ch2 18:8 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ εὐνοῦχον ἕνα καὶ εἶπεν τάχος Μιχαιαν υἱὸν Ιεμλα
2Ch 18:9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them. 2 Chr 18:9 Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting at the threshing floor at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them. Ch2 18:9 καὶ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα καθήμενοι ἕκαστος ἐπὶ θρόνου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐνδεδυμένοι στολὰς καθήμενοι ἐν τῷ εὐρυχώρῳ θύρας πύλης Σαμαρείας καὶ πάντες οἱ προφῆται ἐπροφήτευον ἐναντίον αὐτῶν
2Ch 18:10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed. 2 Chr 18:10 Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made horns of iron for himself and said, "Thus says the Lord, 'With these you shall gore the Arameans until they are consumed.'" Ch2 18:10 καὶ ἐποίησεν ἑαυτῷ Σεδεκιας υἱὸς Χανανα κέρατα σιδηρᾶ καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐν τούτοις κερατιεῖς τὴν Συρίαν ἕως ἂν συντελεσθῇ
2Ch 18:11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 2 Chr 18:11 All the prophets were prophesying thus, saying, "Go up to Ramoth-gilead and succeed, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king." Ch2 18:11 καὶ πάντες οἱ προφῆται ἐπροφήτευον οὕτως λέγοντες ἀνάβαινε εἰς Ραμωθ Γαλααδ καὶ εὐοδωθήσῃ καὶ δώσει κύριος εἰς χεῖρας τοῦ βασιλέως
2Ch 18:12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of their's, and speak thou good. 2 Chr 18:12 Then the messenger who went to summon Micaiah spoke to him saying, "Behold, the words of the prophets are uniformly favorable to the king. So please let your word be like one of them and speak favorably." Ch2 18:12 καὶ ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ πορευθεὶς τοῦ καλέσαι τὸν Μιχαιαν ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ λέγων ἰδοὺ ἐλάλησαν οἱ προφῆται ἐν στόματι ἑνὶ ἀγαθὰ περὶ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἔστωσαν δὴ οἱ λόγοι σου ὡς ἑνὸς αὐτῶν καὶ λαλήσεις ἀγαθά
2Ch 18:13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak. 2 Chr 18:13 But Micaiah said, "As the Lord lives, what my God says, that I will speak." Ch2 18:13 καὶ εἶπεν Μιχαιας ζῇ κύριος ὅτι ὃ ἐὰν εἴπῃ ὁ θεὸς πρός με αὐτὸ λαλήσω
2Ch 18:14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand. 2 Chr 18:14 When he came to the king, the king said to him, "Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?" He said, "Go up and succeed, for they will be given into your hand." Ch2 18:14 καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ βασιλεύς Μιχαια εἰ πορευθῶ εἰς Ραμωθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον ἢ ἐπίσχω καὶ εἶπεν ἀνάβαινε καὶ εὐοδώσεις καὶ δοθήσονται εἰς χεῖρας ὑμῶν
2Ch 18:15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD? 2 Chr 18:15 Then the king said to him, "How many times must I adjure you to speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?" Ch2 18:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ βασιλεύς ποσάκις ὁρκίζω σε ἵνα μὴ λαλήσῃς πρός με πλὴν ἀλήθειαν ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου
2Ch 18:16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace. 2 Chr 18:16 So he said, "I saw all Israel Scattered on the mountains, Like sheep which have no shepherd; And the Lord said,' These have no master. Let each of them return to his house in peace.'" Ch2 18:16 καὶ εἶπεν εἶδον τὸν Ισραηλ διεσπαρμένους ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν ὡς πρόβατα οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν ποιμήν καὶ εἶπεν κύριος οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἡγούμενον ἀναστρεφέτωσαν ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ἐν εἰρήνῃ
2Ch 18:17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil? 2 Chr 18:17 Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?" Ch2 18:17 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ οὐκ εἶπά σοι ὅτι οὐ προφητεύει περὶ ἐμοῦ ἀγαθά ἀλλ᾽ ἢ κακά
2Ch 18:18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left. 2 Chr 18:18 Micaiah said, "Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing on His right and on His left. Ch2 18:18 καὶ εἶπεν οὐχ οὕτως ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου εἶδον τὸν κύριον καθήμενον ἐπὶ θρόνου αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσα δύναμις τοῦ οὐρανοῦ εἱστήκει ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν αὐτοῦ
2Ch 18:19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner. 2 Chr 18:19 The Lord said, 'Who will entice Ahab king of Israel to go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?' And one said this while another said that. Ch2 18:19 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος τίς ἀπατήσει τὸν Αχααβ βασιλέα Ισραηλ καὶ ἀναβήσεται καὶ πεσεῖται ἐν Ραμωθ Γαλααδ καὶ εἶπεν οὗτος οὕτως καὶ οὗτος εἶπεν οὕτως
2Ch 18:20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? 2 Chr 18:20 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord and said, 'I will entice him.' And the Lord said to him, 'How?' 2Ch 18:24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself. 2 Chr 18:24 Micaiah said, "Behold, you will see on that day when you enter an inner room to hide yourself." 2Ch 18:27 And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people. 2 Chr 18:27 Micaiah said, "If you indeed return safely, the Lord has not spoken by me." And he said, "Listen, all you people." So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle. 2 Chr 18:29 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "I will disguise myself and go into battle, but you put on your robes." So the king of Israel disguised himself, and they went into battle. 2Ch 18:31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him. 2 Chr 18:31 So when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, "It is the king of Israel," and they turned aside to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him, and God diverted them from him. So he said to the driver of the chariot, "Turn around and take me out of the fight, for I am severely wounded." 2Ch 18 34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even and about the time of the sun going down he died. 2 Chr 18:34 The battle raged that day, and the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot in front of the Arameans until the evening; and at sunset he died. 2Ch 19:3 Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God. 2 Chr 19:3 But there is some good in you, for you have removed the Asheroth from the land and you have set your heart to seek God." 2Ch 19:4 And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers. 2 Chr 19:4 So Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem and went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim and brought them back to the Lord, the God of their fathers. Ch2 19:4 καὶ κατῴκησεν Ιωσαφατ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ πάλιν ἐξῆλθεν εἰς τὸν λαὸν ἀπὸ Βηρσαβεε ἕως ὄρους Εφραιμ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ κύριον θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν
2Ch 19:5 And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city, 2 Chr 19:5 He appointed judges in the land in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city. Ch2 19:5 καὶ κατέστησεν κριτὰς ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα ταῖς ὀχυραῖς ἐν πόλει καὶ πόλει
2Ch 19:6 And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. 2 Chr 19:6 He said to the judges, "Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment. Ch2 19:6 καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς κριταῖς ἴδετε τί ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε ὅτι οὐκ ἀνθρώπῳ ὑμεῖς κρίνετε ἀλλ᾽ ἢ τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν λόγοι τῆς κρίσεως
2Ch 19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. 2 Chr 19:7 Now then let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be very careful what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in unrighteousness or partiality or the taking of a bribe." 2Ch 19:8 Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem. 2 Chr 19:8 In Jerusalem also Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the heads of the fathers' households of Israel, for the judgment of the Lord and to judge disputes among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Ch2 19:8 καὶ γὰρ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ κατέστησεν Ιωσαφατ τῶν ἱερέων καὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν καὶ τῶν πατριαρχῶν Ισραηλ εἰς κρίσιν κυρίου καὶ κρίνειν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
2Ch 19:9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. 2 Chr 19:9 Then he charged them saying, "Thus you shall do in the fear of the Lord, faithfully and wholeheartedly. Ch2 19:9 καὶ ἐνετείλατο πρὸς αὐτοὺς λέγων οὕτως ποιήσετε ἐν φόβῳ κυρίου ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ ἐν πλήρει καρδίᾳ
2Ch 19:10 And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass. 2 Chr 19:10 Whenever any dispute comes to you from your brethren who live in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you shall warn them so that they may not be guilty before the Lord, and wrath may not come on you and your brethren. Thus you shall do and you will not be guilty. Ch2 19:10 πᾶς ἀνὴρ κρίσιν τὴν ἐλθοῦσαν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν τῶν κατοικούντων ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν ἀνὰ μέσον αἵματος αἷμα καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον προστάγματος καὶ ἐντολῆς καὶ δικαιώματα καὶ κρίματα καὶ διαστελεῖσθε αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσονται τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς ὀργὴ καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν οὕτως ποιήσετε καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσεσθε
2Ch 19:11 And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good. 2 Chr 19:11 Behold, Amariah the chief priest will be over you in all that pertains to the Lord, and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all that pertains to the king. Also the Levites shall be officers before you. Act resolutely, and the Lord be with the upright." 2Ch 20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. 2 Chr 20:1 Now it came about after this that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, together with some of the Meunites, came to make war against Jehoshaphat. Ch2 20:1 καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἦλθον οἱ υἱοὶ Μωαβ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐκ τῶν Μιναίων πρὸς Ιωσαφατ εἰς πόλεμον
2Ch 20:2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi. 2 Chr 20:2 Then some came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, out of Aram and behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (that is Engedi)." Ch2 20:2 καὶ ἦλθον καὶ ὑπέδειξαν τῷ Ιωσαφατ λέγοντες ἥκει ἐπὶ σὲ πλῆθος πολὺ ἐκ πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης ἀπὸ Συρίας καὶ ἰδού εἰσιν ἐν Ασασανθαμαρ αὕτη ἐστὶν Ενγαδδι
2Ch 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 2 Chr 20:3 Jehoshaphat was afraid and turned his attention to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 2Ch 20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. 2 Chr 20:4 So Judah gathered together to seek help from the Lord; they even came from all the cities of Judah to seek the Lord. Ch2 20:4 καὶ συνήχθη Ιουδας ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον καὶ ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν πόλεων Ιουδα ἦλθον ζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον
2Ch 20:5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, 2 Chr 20:5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord before the new court, Ch2 20:5 καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωσαφατ ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ Ιουδα ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου κατὰ πρόσωπον τῆς αὐλῆς τῆς καινῆς
2Ch 20:6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? 2 Chr 20:6 and he said, "O Lord, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You. Ch2 20:6 καὶ εἶπεν κύριε ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν οὐχὶ σὺ εἶ θεὸς ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ σὺ κυριεύεις πασῶν τῶν βασιλειῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν καὶ ἐν τῇ χειρί σου ἰσχὺς δυναστείας καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν πρὸς σὲ ἀντιστῆναι
2Ch 20:7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? 2 Chr 20:7 Did You not, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel and give it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? Ch2 20:7 οὐχὶ σὺ εἶ ὁ κύριος ὁ ἐξολεθρεύσας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν ταύτην ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ λαοῦ σου Ισραηλ καὶ ἔδωκας αὐτὴν σπέρματι Αβρααμ τῷ ἠγαπημένῳ σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
2Ch 20:8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, 2 Chr 20:8 They have lived in it, and have built You a sanctuary there for Your name, saying, Ch2 20:8 καὶ κατῴκησαν ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν ἐν αὐτῇ ἁγίασμα τῷ ὀνόματί σου λέγοντες
2Ch 20:9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. 2 Chr 20:9 'Should evil come upon us, the sword, or judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for Your name is in this house) and cry to You in our distress, and You will hear and deliver us.' Ch2 20:9 ἐὰν ἐπέλθῃ ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς κακά ῥομφαία κρίσις θάνατος λιμός στησόμεθα ἐναντίον τοῦ οἴκου τούτου καὶ ἐναντίον σου ὅτι τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπὶ τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ καὶ βοησόμεθα πρὸς σὲ ἀπὸ τῆς θλίψεως καὶ ἀκούσῃ καὶ σώσεις
2Ch 20:10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; 2 Chr 20:10 Now behold, the sons of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom You did not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt (they turned aside from them and did not destroy them), Ch2 20:10 καὶ νῦν ἰδοὺ υἱοὶ Αμμων καὶ Μωαβ καὶ ὄρος Σηιρ εἰς οὓς οὐκ ἔδωκας τῷ Ισραηλ διελθεῖν δι᾽ αὐτῶν ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ὅτι ἐξέκλιναν ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐξωλέθρευσαν αὐτούς
2Ch 20:11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. 2 Chr 20:11 see how they are rewarding us by coming to drive us out from Your possession which You have given us as an inheritance. 2Ch 20:24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. 2 Chr 20:24 When Judah came to the lookout of the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude, and behold, they were corpses lying on the ground, and no one had escaped. 2Ch 20:26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day. 2 Chr 20:26 Then on the fourth day they assembled in the valley of Beracah, for there they blessed the Lord. Therefore they have named that place "The Valley of Beracah" until today. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish. 2 Chr 20:37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat saying, "Because you have allied yourself with Ahaziah, the Lord has destroyed your works." So the ships were broken and could not go to Tarshish.
