Job 25:1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

|
Job 25:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Βαλδαδ ὁ Σαυχίτης λέγει
|
Job 25:2 Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.
|
Job 25:2 "Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishes peace in His heights.
|
Job 25:2 τί γὰρ προοίμιον ἢ φόβος παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ὁ ποιῶν τὴν σύμπασαν ἐν ὑψίστῳ
|
Job 25:3 Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?
|
Job 25:3 "Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise?
|
Job 25:3 μὴ γάρ τις ὑπολάβοι ὅτι ἔστιν παρέλκυσις πειραταῖς ἐπὶ τίνας δὲ οὐκ ἐπελεύσεται ἔνεδρα παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ
|
Job 25:4 How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
|
Job 25:4 "How then can a man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of woman?
|
Job 25:4 πῶς γὰρ ἔσται δίκαιος βροτὸς ἔναντι κυρίου ἢ τίς ἂν ἀποκαθαρίσαι ἑαυτὸν γεννητὸς γυναικός
|
Job 25:5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.
|
Job 25:5 "If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight,
|
Job 25:5 εἰ σελήνῃ συντάσσει καὶ οὐκ ἐπιφαύσκει ἄστρα δὲ οὐ καθαρὰ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ
|
Job 25:6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
|
Job 25:6 How much less man, that maggot, And the son of man, that worm!"
|
Job 25:6 ἔα δέ ἄνθρωπος σαπρία καὶ υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου σκώληξ
|
Job 26:1 But Job answered and said,

Job 26:1 Then Job responded,
|
Job 26:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ιωβ λέγει
|
Job 26:2 How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
|
Job 26:2 "What a help you are to the weak! How you have saved the arm without strength!
|
Job 26:2 τίνι πρόσκεισαι ἢ τίνι μέλλεις βοηθεῖν πότερον οὐχ ᾧ πολλὴ ἰσχὺς καὶ ᾧ βραχίων κραταιός ἐστιν
|
Job 26:3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
|
Job 26:3 "What counsel you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!
|
Job 26:3 τίνι συμβεβούλευσαι οὐχ ᾧ πᾶσα σοφία ἢ τίνι ἐπακολουθήσεις οὐχ ᾧ μεγίστη δύναμις
|
Job 26:4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
|
Job 26:4 "To whom have you uttered words? And whose spirit was expressed through you?
|
Job 26:4 τίνι ἀνήγγειλας ῥήματα πνοὴ δὲ τίνος ἐστὶν ἡ ἐξελθοῦσα ἐκ σοῦ
|
Job 26:5 Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.
|
Job 26:5 "The departed spirits tremble Under the waters and their inhabitants.
|
Job 26:5 μὴ γίγαντες μαιωθήσονται ὑποκάτωθεν ὕδατος καὶ τῶν γειτόνων αὐτοῦ
|
Job 26:6 Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
|
Job 26:6 "Naked is Sheol before Him, And Abaddon has no covering.
|
Job 26:6 γυμνὸς ὁ ᾅδης ἐπώπιον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν περιβόλαιον τῇ ἀπωλείᾳ
|
Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
|
Job 26:7 "He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.
|
Job 26:7 ἐκτείνων βορέαν ἐπ᾽ οὐδέν κρεμάζων γῆν ἐπὶ οὐδενός
|
Job 26:8 He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
|
Job 26:8 "He wraps up the waters in His clouds, And the cloud does not burst under them.
|
Job 26:8 δεσμεύων ὕδωρ ἐν νεφέλαις αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐρράγη νέφος ὑποκάτω αὐτοῦ
|
Job 26:9 He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
|
Job 26:9 "He obscures the face of the full moon And spreads His cloud over it.
|
Job 26:9 ὁ κρατῶν πρόσωπον θρόνου ἐκπετάζων ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν νέφος αὐτοῦ
|
Job 26:10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
|
Job 26:10 "He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters At the boundary of light and darkness.
|
Job 26:10 πρόσταγμα ἐγύρωσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ὕδατος μέχρι συντελείας φωτὸς μετὰ σκότους
|
Job 26:11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
|
Job 26:11 "The pillars of heaven tremble And are amazed at His rebuke.
|
Job 26:11 στῦλοι οὐρανοῦ ἐπετάσθησαν καὶ ἐξέστησαν ἀπὸ τῆς ἐπιτιμήσεως αὐτοῦ
|
Job 26:12 He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
|
Job 26:12 "He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.
|
Job 26:12 ἰσχύι κατέπαυσεν τὴν θάλασσαν ἐπιστήμῃ δὲ ἔτρωσε τὸ κῆτος
|
Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
|
Job 26:13 "By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.
|
Job 26:13 κλεῖθρα δὲ οὐρανοῦ δεδοίκασιν αὐτόν προστάγματι δὲ ἐθανάτωσεν δράκοντα ἀποστάτην
|
Job 26:14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
|
Job 26:14 "Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?"
|
Job 26:14 ἰδοὺ ταῦτα μέρη ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ ἰκμάδα λόγου ἀκουσόμεθα ἐν αὐτῷ σθένος δὲ βροντῆς αὐτοῦ τίς οἶδεν ὁπότε ποιήσει

Job 27:1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

Job 27:1 Then Job continued his discourse and said,

Job 27:1 ἔτι δὲ προσθεὶς Ιωβ εἶπεν τῷ προοιμίῳ
|
Job 27:2 As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
|
Job 27:2 "As God lives, who has taken away my right, And the Almighty, who has embittered my soul,
|
Job 27:2 ζῇ κύριος ὃς οὕτω με κέκρικεν καὶ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁ πικράνας μου τὴν ψυχήν
|
Job 27:3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
|
Job 27:3 For as long as life is in me, And the breath of God is in my nostrils,
|
Job 27:3 ἦ μὴν ἔτι τῆς πνοῆς μου ἐνούσης πνεῦμα δὲ θεῖον τὸ περιόν μοι ἐν ῥισίν
|
Job 27:4 My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
|
Job 27:4 My lips certainly will not speak unjustly, Nor will my tongue mutter deceit.
|
Job 27:4 μὴ λαλήσειν τὰ χείλη μου ἄνομα οὐδὲ ἡ ψυχή μου μελετήσει ἄδικα
|
Job 27:5 God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
|
Job 27:5 "Far be it from me that I should declare you right; Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.
|
Job 27:5 μή μοι εἴη δικαίους ὑμᾶς ἀποφῆναι ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνω οὐ γὰρ ἀπαλλάξω μου τὴν ἀκακίαν
|
Job 27:6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
|
Job 27:6 "I hold fast my righteousness and will not let it go. My heart does not reproach any of my days.
|
Job 27:6 δικαιοσύνῃ δὲ προσέχων οὐ μὴ προῶμαι οὐ γὰρ σύνοιδα ἐμαυτῷ ἄτοπα πράξας
|
Job 27:7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
|
Job 27:7 "May my enemy be as the wicked And my opponent as the unjust.
|
Job 27:7 οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ εἴησαν οἱ ἐχθροί μου ὥσπερ ἡ καταστροφὴ τῶν ἀσεβῶν καὶ οἱ ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ ἐπανιστανόμενοι ὥσπερ ἡ ἀπώλεια τῶν παρανόμων
|
Job 27:8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
|
Job 27:8 "For what is the hope of the godless when he is cut off, When God requires his life?
|
Job 27:8 καὶ τίς γάρ ἐστιν ἐλπὶς ἀσεβεῖ ὅτι ἐπέχει πεποιθὼς ἐπὶ κύριον ἆρα σωθήσεται
|
Job 27:9 Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
|
Job 27:9 "Will God hear his cry When distress comes upon him?
|
Job 27:9 ἦ τὴν δέησιν αὐτοῦ εἰσακούσεται κύριος ἢ ἐπελθούσης αὐτῷ ἀνάγκης
|
Job 27:10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
|
Job 27:10 "Will he take delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?
|
Job 27:10 μὴ ἔχει τινὰ παρρησίαν ἔναντι αὐτοῦ ἢ ὡς ἐπικαλεσαμένου αὐτοῦ εἰσακούσεται αὐτοῦ
|
Job 27:11 I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
|
Job 27:11 "I will instruct you in the power of God; What is with the Almighty I will not conceal.
|
Job 27:11 ἀλλὰ δὴ ἀναγγελῶ ὑμῖν τί ἐστιν ἐν χειρὶ κυρίου ἅ ἐστιν παρὰ παντοκράτορι οὐ ψεύσομαι
|
Job 27:12 Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
|
Job 27:12 "Behold, all of you have seen it; Why then do you act foolishly?
|
Job 27:12 ἰδοὺ δὴ πάντες οἴδατε ὅτι κενὰ κενοῖς ἐπιβάλλετε
|
Job 27:13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
|
Job 27:13 "This is the portion of a wicked man from God, And the inheritance which tyrants receive from the Almighty.
|
Job 27:13 αὕτη ἡ μερὶς ἀνθρώπου ἀσεβοῦς παρὰ κυρίου κτῆμα δὲ δυναστῶν ἐλεύσεται παρὰ παντοκράτορος ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς
|
Job 27:14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
|
Job 27:14 "Though his sons are many, they are destined for the sword; And his descendants will not be satisfied with bread.
|
Job 27:14 ἐὰν δὲ πολλοὶ γένωνται οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς σφαγὴν ἔσονται ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἀνδρωθῶσιν προσαιτήσουσιν
|
Job 27:15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
|
Job 27:15 "His survivors will be buried because of the plague, And their widows will not be able to weep.
|
Job 27:15 οἱ δὲ περιόντες αὐτοῦ ἐν θανάτῳ τελευτήσουσιν χήρας δὲ αὐτῶν οὐθεὶς ἐλεήσει
|
Job 27:16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;
|
Job 27:16 "Though he piles up silver like dust And prepares garments as plentiful as the clay,
|
Job 27:16 ἐὰν συναγάγῃ ὥσπερ γῆν ἀργύριον ἴσα δὲ πηλῷ ἑτοιμάσῃ χρυσίον
|
Job 27:17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
|

|
Job 27:17 ταῦτα πάντα δίκαιοι περιποιήσονται τὰ δὲ χρήματα αὐτοῦ ἀληθινοὶ καθέξουσιν
|
Job 27:18 He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.
|
Job 27:18 "He has built his house like the spider's web, Or as a hut which the watchman has made.
|
Job 27:18 ἀπέβη δὲ ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ ὥσπερ σῆτες καὶ ὥσπερ ἀράχνη
|
Job 27:19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
|
Job 27:19 "He lies down rich, but never again; He opens his eyes, and it is no longer.
|
Job 27:19 πλούσιος κοιμηθεὶς καὶ οὐ προσθήσει ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ διήνοιξεν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν
|
Job 27:20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
|
Job 27:20 "Terrors overtake him like a flood; A tempest steals him away in the night.
|
Job 27:20 συνήντησαν αὐτῷ ὥσπερ ὕδωρ αἱ ὀδύναι νυκτὶ δὲ ὑφείλατο αὐτὸν γνόφος
|
Job 27:21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
|
Job 27:21 "The east wind carries him away, and he is gone, For it whirls him away from his place.
|
Job 27:21 ἀναλήμψεται αὐτὸν καύσων καὶ ἀπελεύσεται καὶ λικμήσει αὐτὸν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ
|
Job 27:22 For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
|
Job 27:22 "For it will hurl at him without sparing; He will surely try to flee from its power.
|
Job 27:22 καὶ ἐπιρρίψει ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν καὶ οὐ φείσεται ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ φυγῇ φεύξεται
|
Job 27:23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
|
Job 27:23 "Men will clap their hands at him And will hiss him from his place.
|
Job 27:23 κροτήσει ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ χεῖρας αὐτοῦ καὶ συριεῖ αὐτὸν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ
|
Job 28:1 Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.
|
Job 28:1 "Surely there is a mine for silver And a place where they refine gold.
|
Job 28:1 ἔστιν γὰρ ἀργυρίῳ τόπος ὅθεν γίνεται τόπος δὲ χρυσίῳ ὅθεν διηθεῖται
|
Job 28:2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
|
Job 28:2 "Iron is taken from the dust, And copper is smelted from rock.
|
Job 28:2 σίδηρος μὲν γὰρ ἐκ γῆς γίνεται χαλκὸς δὲ ἴσα λίθῳ λατομεῖται
|
Job 28:3 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
|
Job 28:3 "Man puts an end to darkness, And to the farthest limit he searches out The rock in gloom and deep shadow.
|
Job 28:3 τάξιν ἔθετο σκότει καὶ πᾶν πέρας αὐτὸς ἐξακριβάζεται λίθος σκοτία καὶ σκιὰ θανάτου
|
Job 28:4 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.
|
Job 28:4 "He sinks a shaft far from habitation, Forgotten by the foot; They hang and swing to and fro far from men.
|
Job 28:4 διακοπὴ χειμάρρου ἀπὸ κονίας οἱ δὲ ἐπιλανθανόμενοι ὁδὸν δικαίαν ἠσθένησαν ἐκ βροτῶν
|
Job 28:5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
|
Job 28:5 "The earth, from it comes food, And underneath it is turned up as fire.
|
Job 28:5 γῆ ἐξ αὐτῆς ἐξελεύσεται ἄρτος ὑποκάτω αὐτῆς ἐστράφη ὡσεὶ πῦρ
|
Job 28:6 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.
|
Job 28:6 "Its rocks are the source of sapphires, And its dust contains gold.
|
Job 28:6 τόπος σαπφείρου οἱ λίθοι αὐτῆς καὶ χῶμα χρυσίον αὐτῷ
|
Job 28:7 There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:
|
Job 28:7 "The path no bird of prey knows, Nor has the falcon's eye caught sight of it.
|
Job 28:7 τρίβος οὐκ ἔγνω αὐτὴν πετεινόν καὶ οὐ παρέβλεψεν αὐτὴν ὀφθαλμὸς γυπός
|
Job 28:8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
|
Job 28:8 "The proud beasts have not trodden it, Nor has the fierce lion passed over it.
|
Job 28:8 οὐκ ἐπάτησαν αὐτὴν υἱοὶ ἀλαζόνων οὐ παρῆλθεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς λέων
|
Job 28:9 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.
|
Job 28:9 "He puts his hand on the flint; He overturns the mountains at the base.
|
Job 28:9 ἐν ἀκροτόμῳ ἐξέτεινεν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ κατέστρεψεν δὲ ἐκ ῥιζῶν ὄρη
|
Job 28:10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.
|
Job 28:10 "He hews out channels through the rocks, And his eye sees anything precious.
|
Job 28:10 δίνας δὲ ποταμῶν ἔρρηξεν πᾶν δὲ ἔντιμον εἶδέν μου ὁ ὀφθαλμός
|
Job 28:11 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.
|
Job 28:11 "He dams up the streams from flowing, And what is hidden he brings out to the light.
|
Job 28:11 βάθη δὲ ποταμῶν ἀνεκάλυψεν ἔδειξεν δὲ ἑαυτοῦ δύναμιν εἰς φῶς
|
Job 28:12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
|
Job 28:12 "But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?
|
Job 28:12 ἡ δὲ σοφία πόθεν εὑρέθη ποῖος δὲ τόπος ἐστὶν τῆς ἐπιστήμης
|
Job 28:13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
|
Job 28:13 "Man does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land of the living.
|
Job 28:13 οὐκ οἶδεν βροτὸς ὁδὸν αὐτῆς οὐδὲ μὴ εὑρεθῇ ἐν ἀνθρώποις
|
Job 28:14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.
|
Job 28:14 "The deep says, 'It is not in me'; And the sea says, 'It is not with me.'
|
Job 28:14 ἄβυσσος εἶπεν οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν ἐμοί καὶ θάλασσα εἶπεν οὐκ ἔστιν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ
|
Job 28:15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
|
Job 28:15 "Pure gold cannot be given in exchange for it, Nor can silver be weighed as its price.
|
Job 28:15 οὐ δώσει συγκλεισμὸν ἀντ᾽ αὐτῆς καὶ οὐ σταθήσεται ἀργύριον ἀντάλλαγμα αὐτῆς
|
Job 28:16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
|
Job 28:16 "It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, In precious onyx, or sapphire.
|
Job 28:16 καὶ οὐ συμβασταχθήσεται χρυσίῳ Ωφιρ ἐν ὄνυχι τιμίῳ καὶ σαπφείρῳ
|
Job 28:17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
|
Job 28:17 "Gold or glass cannot equal it, Nor can it be exchanged for articles of fine gold.
|
Job 28:17 οὐκ ἰσωθήσεται αὐτῇ χρυσίον καὶ ὕαλος καὶ τὸ ἄλλαγμα αὐτῆς σκεύη χρυσᾶ
|
Job 28:18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
|
Job 28:18 "Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned; And the acquisition of wisdom is above that of pearls.
|
Job 28:18 μετέωρα καὶ γαβις οὐ μνησθήσεται καὶ ἕλκυσον σοφίαν ὑπὲρ τὰ ἐσώτατα
|
Job 28:19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
|
Job 28:19 "The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, Nor can it be valued in pure gold.
|
Job 28:19 οὐκ ἰσωθήσεται αὐτῇ τοπάζιον Αἰθιοπίας χρυσίῳ καθαρῷ οὐ συμβασταχθήσεται

Job 28:20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
|
Job 28:20 "Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding?
|
Job 28:20 ἡ δὲ σοφία πόθεν εὑρέθη ποῖος δὲ τόπος ἐστὶν τῆς συνέσεως
|
Job 28:21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
|
Job 28:21 "Thus it is hidden from the eyes of all living And concealed from the birds of the sky.
|
Job 28:21 λέληθεν πάντα ἄνθρωπον καὶ ἀπὸ πετεινῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐκρύβη
|
Job 28:22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
|
Job 28:22 "Abaddon and Death say, 'With our ears we have heard a report of it.'
|
Job 28:22 ἡ ἀπώλεια καὶ ὁ θάνατος εἶπαν ἀκηκόαμεν δὲ αὐτῆς τὸ κλέος
|
Job 28:23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
|
Job 28:23 "God understands its way, And He knows its place.
|
Job 28:23 ὁ θεὸς εὖ συνέστησεν αὐτῆς τὴν ὁδόν αὐτὸς δὲ οἶδεν τὸν τόπον αὐτῆς
|
Job 28:24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
|
Job 28:24 "For He looks to the ends of the earth And sees everything under the heavens.
|
Job 28:24 αὐτὸς γὰρ τὴν ὑπ᾽ οὐρανὸν πᾶσαν ἐφορᾷ εἰδὼς τὰ ἐν τῇ γῇ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν
|
Job 28:25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

Job 28:27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Job 28:28 εἶπεν δὲ ἀνθρώπῳ ἰδοὺ ἡ θεοσέβειά ἐστιν σοφία τὸ δὲ ἀπέχεσθαι ἀπὸ κακῶν ἐστιν ἐπιστήμη
|
Job 29:1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

Job 29:2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;

Job 29:2 τίς ἄν με θείη κατὰ μῆνα ἔμπροσθεν ἡμερῶν ὧν με ὁ θεὸς ἐφύλαξεν
|
Job 29:3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;

Job 29:3 When His lamp shone over my head, And by His light I walked through darkness;

Job 29:3 ὡς ὅτε ηὔγει ὁ λύχνος αὐτοῦ ὑπὲρ κεφαλῆς μου ὅτε τῷ φωτὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπορευόμην ἐν σκότει
|
Job 29:4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;

Job 29:4 As I was in the prime of my days, When the friendship of God was over my tent;
|
Job 29:4 ὅτε ἤμην ἐπιβρίθων ὁδοῖς ὅτε ὁ θεὸς ἐπισκοπὴν ἐποιεῖτο τοῦ οἴκου μου

Job 29:5 When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me;

|
Job 29:5 ὅτε ἤμην ὑλώδης λίαν κύκλῳ δέ μου οἱ παῖδες

Job 29:6 When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil;

Job 29:10 The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

Job 29:11 When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:

Job 29:12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.

Job 29:13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

Job 29:16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

Job 29:16 ἐγὼ ἤμην πατὴρ ἀδυνάτων δίκην δέ ἣν οὐκ ᾔδειν ἐξιχνίασα

Job 29:17 And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

Job 29:18 Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

Job 29:23 And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

Job 29:25 I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.

Job 30:1 But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.

Job 30:1 νυνὶ δὲ κατεγέλασάν μου ἐλάχιστοι νῦν νουθετοῦσίν με ἐν μέρει ὧν ἐξουδένουν πατέρας αὐτῶν οὓς οὐχ ἡγησάμην εἶναι ἀξίους κυνῶν τῶν ἐμῶν νομάδων
|
Job 30:2 Yea, whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old age was perished?

Job 30:2 "Indeed, what good was the strength of their hands to me? Vigor had perished from them.

Job 30:2 καί γε ἰσχὺς χειρῶν αὐτῶν ἵνα τί μοι ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς ἀπώλετο συντέλεια

Job 30:3 For want and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.

Job 30:3 "From want and famine they are gaunt Who gnaw the dry ground by night in waste and desolation,

Job 30:3 ἐν ἐνδείᾳ καὶ λιμῷ ἄγονος οἱ φεύγοντες ἄνυδρον ἐχθὲς συνοχὴν καὶ ταλαιπωρίαν
|
Job 30:4 Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their meat.
|
Job 30:4 Who pluck mallow by the bushes, And whose food is the root of the broom shrub.
|
Job 30:4 οἱ περικλῶντες ἅλιμα ἐπὶ ἠχοῦντι οἵτινες ἅλιμα ἦν αὐτῶν τὰ σῖτα ἄτιμοι δὲ καὶ πεφαυλισμένοι ἐνδεεῖς παντὸς ἀγαθοῦ οἳ καὶ ῥίζας ξύλων ἐμασῶντο ὑπὸ λιμοῦ μεγάλου
|
Job 30:5 They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief;)
|
Job 30:5 "They are driven from the community; They shout against them as against a thief,
|
Job 30:5 ἐπανέστησάν μοι κλέπται
|
Job 30:6 To dwell in the cliffs of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.

Job 30:6 ὧν οἱ οἶκοι αὐτῶν ἦσαν τρῶγλαι πετρῶν

Job 30:7 Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.

Job 30:7 ἀνὰ μέσον εὐήχων βοήσονται οἳ ὑπὸ φρύγανα ἄγρια διῃτῶντο

Job 30:8 They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.

Job 30:8 "Fools, even those without a name, They were scourged from the land.
|
Job 30:8 ἀφρόνων υἱοὶ καὶ ἀτίμων ὄνομα καὶ κλέος ἐσβεσμένον ἀπὸ γῆς
|
Job 30:9 And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword.
|
Job 30:9 "And now I have become their taunt, I have even become a byword to them.
|
Job 30:9 νυνὶ δὲ κιθάρα ἐγώ εἰμι αὐτῶν καὶ ἐμὲ θρύλημα ἔχουσιν
|
Job 30:10 They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.
|
Job 30:10 "They abhor me and stand aloof from me, And they do not refrain from spitting at my face.
|
Job 30:10 ἐβδελύξαντο δέ με ἀποστάντες μακράν ἀπὸ δὲ προσώπου μου οὐκ ἐφείσαντο πτύελον

Job 30:11 Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.
|

|
Job 30:11 ἀνοίξας γὰρ φαρέτραν αὐτοῦ ἐκάκωσέν με καὶ χαλινὸν τοῦ προσώπου μου ἐξαπέστειλαν

Job 30:12 Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.
|
Job 30:12 "On the right hand their brood arises; They thrust aside my feet and build up against me their ways of destruction.
|
Job 30:12 ἐπὶ δεξιῶν βλαστοῦ ἐπανέστησαν πόδα αὐτῶν ἐξέτειναν καὶ ὡδοποίησαν ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ τρίβους ἀπωλείας αὐτῶν
|
Job 30:13 They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper.
|
Job 30:13 "They break up my path, They profit from my destruction; No one restrains them.
|
Job 30:13 ἐξετρίβησαν τρίβοι μου ἐξέδυσεν γάρ μου τὴν στολήν
|
Job 30:14 They came upon me as a wide breaking in of waters: in the desolation they rolled themselves upon me.
|
Job 30:14 "As through a wide breach they come, Amid the tempest they roll on.

Job 30:14 βέλεσιν αὐτοῦ κατηκόντισέν με κέχρηταί μοι ὡς βούλεται ἐν ὀδύναις πέφυρμαι
|
Job 30 15 Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.
|
Job 30:15 "Terrors are turned against me; They pursue my honor as the wind, And my prosperity has passed away like a cloud.

Job 30:15 ἐπιστρέφονται δέ μου αἱ ὀδύναι ᾤχετό μου ἡ ἐλπὶς ὥσπερ πνεῦμα καὶ ὥσπερ νέφος ἡ σωτηρία μου
|
Job 30:16 And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me.
|

Job 30:16 καὶ νῦν ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ ἐκχυθήσεται ἡ ψυχή μου ἔχουσιν δέ με ἡμέραι ὀδυνῶν

Job 30:17 My bones are pierced in me in the night season: and my sinews take no rest.

Job 30:19 He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.

Job 30:20 I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.

Job 30:20 "I cry out to You for help, but You do not answer me; I stand up, and You turn Your attention against me.

Job 30:20 κέκραγα δὲ πρὸς σὲ καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούεις μου ἔστησαν καὶ κατενόησάν με

Job 30:21 Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.
|
Job 30:21 "You have become cruel to me; With the might of Your hand You persecute me.

Job 30:21 ἐπέβης δέ μοι ἀνελεημόνως χειρὶ κραταιᾷ με ἐμαστίγωσας
|
Job 30:22 Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.
|
Job 30:22 "You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride; And You dissolve me in a storm.

Job 30:22 ἔταξας δέ με ἐν ὀδύναις καὶ ἀπέρριψάς με ἀπὸ σωτηρίας
|
Job 30:23 For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

Job 30:23 "For I know that You will bring me to death And to the house of meeting for all living.
|
Job 30:23 οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι θάνατός με ἐκτρίψει οἰκία γὰρ παντὶ θνητῷ γῆ
|
Job 30:24 Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.
|
Job 30:24 "Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretch out his hand, Or in his disaster therefore cry out for help?
|
Job 30:24 εἰ γὰρ ὄφελον δυναίμην ἐμαυτὸν χειρώσασθαι ἢ δεηθείς γε ἑτέρου καὶ ποιήσει μοι τοῦτο
|
Job 30:25 Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor?
|
Job 30:25 "Have I not wept for the one whose life is hard? Was not my soul grieved for the needy?
|
Job 30:25 ἐγὼ δὲ ἐπὶ παντὶ ἀδυνάτῳ ἔκλαυσα ἐστέναξα δὲ ἰδὼν ἄνδρα ἐν ἀνάγκαις
|
Job 30:26 When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

Job 30:26 ἐγὼ δὲ ἐπέχων ἀγαθοῖς ἰδοὺ συνήντησάν μοι μᾶλλον ἡμέραι κακῶν

Job 30:27 My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.
|
Job 30:27 "I am seething within and cannot relax; Days of affliction confront me.
|
Job 30:27 ἡ κοιλία μου ἐξέζεσεν καὶ οὐ σιωπήσεται προέφθασάν με ἡμέραι πτωχείας

Job 30:28 I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation.
|
Job 30:28 "I go about mourning without comfort; I stand up in the assembly and cry out for help.
|
Job 30:28 στένων πεπόρευμαι ἄνευ φιμοῦ ἕστηκα δὲ ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ κεκραγώς
|
Job 30:29 I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.
|
Job 30:29 "I have become a brother to jackals And a companion of ostriches.

Job 30:29 ἀδελφὸς γέγονα σειρήνων ἑταῖρος δὲ στρουθῶν

Job 30:30 My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.

Job 30:30 "My skin turns black on me, And my bones burn with fever.

Job 30:30 τὸ δὲ δέρμα μου ἐσκότωται μεγάλως τὰ δὲ ὀστᾶ μου ἀπὸ καύματος
|
Job 30:31 My harp also is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep.
|
Job 30:31 "Therefore my harp is turned to mourning, And my flute to the sound of those who weep.
|
Job 30:31 ἀπέβη δὲ εἰς πάθος μου ἡ κιθάρα ὁ δὲ ψαλμός μου εἰς κλαυθμὸν ἐμοί
