Day - 216 - Jeremiah 4-5
Jer 4:1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove. Jer 4:1 "If you will return, O Israel," declares the Lord, "Then you should return to Me. And if you will put away your detested things from My presence, And will not waver, Jer 4:1 ἐὰν ἐπιστραφῇ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος πρός με ἐπιστραφήσεται ἐὰν περιέλῃ τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτοῦ ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου μου εὐλαβηθῇ
Jer 4:2 And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory. Jer 4:2 And you will swear, 'As the Lord lives, 'In truth, in justice and in righteousness; Then the nations will bless themselves in Him, And in Him they will glory." Jer 4:3 For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. Jer 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. Jer 4:4 "Circumcise yourselves to the Lord And remove the foreskins of your heart, Men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Or else My wrath will go forth like fire And burn with none to quench it, Because of the evil of your deeds." Jer 4:4 περιτμήθητε τῷ θεῷ ὑμῶν καὶ περιτέμεσθε τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν ὑμῶν ἄνδρες Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ μὴ ἐξέλθῃ ὡς πῦρ ὁ θυμός μου καὶ ἐκκαυθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ σβέσων ἀπὸ προσώπου πονηρίας ἐπιτηδευμάτων ὑμῶν
Jer 4:5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities. Jer 4:5 Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say, "Blow the trumpet in the land; Cry aloud and say, 'Assemble yourselves, and let us go Into the fortified cities.' Jer 4:5 ἀναγγείλατε ἐν τῷ Ιουδα καὶ ἀκουσθήτω ἐν Ιερουσαλημ εἴπατε σημάνατε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς σάλπιγγι καὶ κεκράξατε μέγα εἴπατε συνάχθητε καὶ εἰσέλθωμεν εἰς τὰς πόλεις τὰς τειχήρεις
Jer 4 6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction. Jer 4:6 "Lift up a standard toward Zion! Seek refuge, do not stand still, For I am bringing evil from the north, And great destruction. Jer 4:6 ἀναλαβόντες φεύγετε εἰς Σιων σπεύσατε μὴ στῆτε ὅτι κακὰ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ συντριβὴν μεγάλην
Jer 4:7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant. Jer 4:7 "A lion has gone up from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has set out; He has gone out from his place To make your land a waste. Your cities will be ruins Without inhabitant. Jer 4:7 ἀνέβη λέων ἐκ τῆς μάνδρας αὐτοῦ ἐξολεθρεύων ἔθνη ἐξῆρεν καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ τοῦ θεῖναι τὴν γῆν εἰς ἐρήμωσιν καὶ πόλεις καθαιρεθήσονται παρὰ τὸ μὴ κατοικεῖσθαι αὐτάς
Jer 4:8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us. Jer 4:8 "For this, put on sackcloth, Lament and wail; For the fierce anger of the Lord Has not turned back from us." Jer 4:8 ἐπὶ τούτοις περιζώσασθε σάκκους καὶ κόπτεσθε καὶ ἀλαλάξατε διότι οὐκ ἀπεστράφη ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν
Jer 4:9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder. Jer 4:9 "It shall come about in that day," declares the Lord, "that the heart of the king and the heart of the princes will fail; and the priests will be appalled and the prophets will be astounded." Jer 4:9 καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ λέγει κύριος ἀπολεῖται ἡ καρδία τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἡ καρδία τῶν ἀρχόντων καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς ἐκστήσονται καὶ οἱ προφῆται θαυμάσονται
Jer 4:10 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul. Jer 4:10 Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! Surely You have utterly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, 'You will have peace'; whereas a sword touches the throat." Jer 4:10 καὶ εἶπα ὦ δέσποτα κύριε ἄρα γε ἀπατῶν ἠπάτησας τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ λέγων εἰρήνη ἔσται ὑμῖν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἥψατο ἡ μάχαιρα ἕως τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτῶν
Jer 4:11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse, Jer 4:11 In that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem," A scorching wind from the bare heights in the wilderness in the direction of the daughter of My people - not to winnow and not to cleanse, Jer 4:11 ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἐροῦσιν τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ καὶ τῇ Ιερουσαλημ πνεῦμα πλανήσεως ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ὁδὸς τῆς θυγατρὸς τοῦ λαοῦ μου οὐκ εἰς καθαρὸν οὐδ᾽ εἰς ἅγιον
Jer 4:12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them. Jer 4:12 a wind too strong for this - will come at My command; now I will also pronounce judgments against them. Jer 4:12 πνεῦμα πληρώσεως ἥξει μοι νῦν δὲ ἐγὼ λαλῶ κρίματα πρὸς αὐτούς
Jer 4:13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled. Jer 4:13 "Behold, he goes up like clouds, And his chariots like the whirlwind; His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are ruined!" Jer 4:13 ἰδοὺ ὡς νεφέλη ἀναβήσεται καὶ ὡς καταιγὶς τὰ ἅρματα αὐτοῦ κουφότεροι ἀετῶν οἱ ἵπποι αὐτοῦ οὐαὶ ἡμῖν ὅτι ταλαιπωροῦμεν
Jer 4:14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? Jer 4:14 Wash your heart from evil, O Jerusalem, That you may be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts Lodge within you? Jer 4:14 ἀπόπλυνε ἀπὸ κακίας τὴν καρδίαν σου Ιερουσαλημ ἵνα σωθῇς ἕως πότε ὑπάρξουσιν ἐν σοὶ διαλογισμοὶ πόνων σου
Jer 4:15 For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim. Jer 4:15 For a voice declares from Dan, And proclaims wickedness from Mount Ephraim. Jer 4:15 διότι φωνὴ ἀναγγέλλοντος ἐκ Δαν ἥξει καὶ ἀκουσθήσεται πόνος ἐξ ὄρους Εφραιμ
Jer 4:16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah. Jer 4:16 "Report it to the nations, now! Proclaim over Jerusalem, 'Besiegers come from a far country, And lift their voices against the cities of Judah. Jer 4:16 ἀναμνήσατε ἔθνη ἰδοὺ ἥκασιν ἀναγγείλατε ἐν Ιερουσαλημ συστροφαὶ ἔρχονται ἐκ γῆς μακρόθεν καὶ ἔδωκαν ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα φωνὴν αὐτῶν
Jer 4:17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD. Jer 4:17 'Like watchmen of a field they are against her round about, Because she has rebelled against Me,' declares the Lord. Jer 4:17 ὡς φυλάσσοντες ἀγρὸν ἐγένοντο ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν κύκλῳ ὅτι ἐμοῦ ἠμέλησας λέγει κύριος
Jer 4:18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart. Jer 4:18 "Your ways and your deeds Have brought these things to you. This is your evil. How bitter! How it has touched your heart!" Lament over Judah's Devastation Jer 4:18 αἱ ὁδοί σου καὶ τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματά σου ἐποίησαν ταῦτά σοι αὕτη ἡ κακία σου ὅτι πικρά ὅτι ἥψατο ἕως τῆς καρδίας σου
Jer 4:19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. Jer 4:19 My soul, my soul! I am in anguish! Oh, my heart! My heart is pounding in me; I cannot be silent, Because you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war. Jer 4:19 τὴν κοιλίαν μου τὴν κοιλίαν μου ἀλγῶ καὶ τὰ αἰσθητήρια τῆς καρδίας μου μαιμάσσει ἡ ψυχή μου σπαράσσεται ἡ καρδία μου οὐ σιωπήσομαι ὅτι φωνὴν σάλπιγγος ἤκουσεν ἡ ψυχή μου κραυγὴν πολέμου
Jer 4:20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment. Jer 4:20 Disaster on disaster is proclaimed, For the whole land is devastated; Suddenly my tents are devastated, My curtains in an instant. Jer 4:20 καὶ ταλαιπωρίαν συντριμμὸν ἐπικαλεῖται ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκεν πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ἄφνω τεταλαιπώρηκεν ἡ σκηνή διεσπάσθησαν αἱ δέρρεις μου
Jer 4:21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet? Jer 4:21 How long must I see the standard And hear the sound of the trumpet? Jer 4:21 ἕως πότε ὄψομαι φεύγοντας ἀκούων φωνὴν σαλπίγγων
Jer 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. Jer 4:22 "For My people are foolish, They know Me not; They are stupid children And have no understanding. They are shrewd to do evil, But to do good they do not know." Jer 4:22 διότι οἱ ἡγούμενοι τοῦ λαοῦ μου ἐμὲ οὐκ ᾔδεισαν υἱοὶ ἄφρονές εἰσιν καὶ οὐ συνετοί σοφοί εἰσιν τοῦ κακοποιῆσαι τὸ δὲ καλῶς ποιῆσαι οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν
Jer 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. Jer 4:23 I looked on the earth, and behold, it was formless and void; And to the heavens, and they had no light. Jer 4:23 ἐπέβλεψα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐθέν καὶ εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν καὶ οὐκ ἦν τὰ φῶτα αὐτοῦ
Jer 4:24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. Jer 4:24 I looked on the mountains, and behold, they were quaking, And all the hills moved to and fro. Jer 4:24 εἶδον τὰ ὄρη καὶ ἦν τρέμοντα καὶ πάντας τοὺς βουνοὺς ταρασσομένους
Jer 4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. Jer 4:25 I looked, and behold, there was no man, And all the birds of the heavens had fled. Jer 4:25 ἐπέβλεψα καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἦν ἄνθρωπος καὶ πάντα τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐπτοεῖτο
Jer 4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. Jer 4:26 I looked, and behold, the fruitful land was a wilderness, And all its cities were pulled down Before the Lord, before His fierce anger. Jer 4:26 εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ Κάρμηλος ἔρημος καὶ πᾶσαι αἱ πόλεις ἐμπεπυρισμέναι πυρὶ ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου καὶ ἀπὸ προσώπου ὀργῆς θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ ἠφανίσθησαν
Jer 4:27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. Jer 4:27 For thus says the Lord, "The whole land shall be a desolation, Yet I will not execute a complete destruction. Jer 4:27 τάδε λέγει κύριος ἔρημος ἔσται πᾶσα ἡ γῆ συντέλειαν δὲ οὐ μὴ ποιήσω
Jer 4:28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it. Jer 4:28 "For this the earth shall mourn And the heavens above be dark, Because I have spoken, I have purposed, And I will not change My mind, nor will I turn from it." Jer 4:28 ἐπὶ τούτοις πενθείτω ἡ γῆ καὶ συσκοτασάτω ὁ οὐρανὸς ἄνωθεν διότι ἐλάλησα καὶ οὐ μετανοήσω ὥρμησα καὶ οὐκ ἀποστρέψω ἀπ᾽ αὐτῆς
Jer 4:29 The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein. Jer 4:29 At the sound of the horseman and bowman every city flees; They go into the thickets and climb among the rocks; Every city is forsaken, And no man dwells in them. Jer 4:29 ἀπὸ φωνῆς ἱππέως καὶ ἐντεταμένου τόξου ἀνεχώρησεν πᾶσα χώρα εἰσέδυσαν εἰς τὰ σπήλαια καὶ εἰς τὰ ἄλση ἐκρύβησαν καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς πέτρας ἀνέβησαν πᾶσα πόλις ἐγκατελείφθη οὐ κατοικεῖ ἐν αὐταῖς ἄνθρωπος
Jer 4:30 And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. Jer 4:30 And you, O desolate one, what will you do? Although you dress in scarlet, Although you decorate yourself with ornaments of gold, Although you enlarge your eyes with paint, In vain you make yourself beautiful. Your lovers despise you; They seek your life. Jer 4:30 καὶ σὺ τί ποιήσεις ἐὰν περιβάλῃ κόκκινον καὶ κοσμήσῃ κόσμῳ χρυσῷ καὶ ἐὰν ἐγχρίσῃ στίβι τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου εἰς μάτην ὁ ὡραϊσμός σου ἀπώσαντό σε οἱ ἐρασταί σου τὴν ψυχήν σου ζητοῦσιν
Jer 4:31 For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers. Jer 4:31 For I heard a cry as of a woman in labor, The anguish as of one giving birth to her first child, The cry of the daughter of Zion gasping for breath, Stretching out her hands, saying, "Ah, woe is me, for I faint before murderers." Jer 4:31 ὅτι φωνὴν ὡς ὠδινούσης ἤκουσα τοῦ στεναγμοῦ σου ὡς πρωτοτοκούσης φωνὴ θυγατρὸς Σιων ἐκλυθήσεται καὶ παρήσει τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῆς οἴμμοι ἐγώ ὅτι ἐκλείπει ἡ ψυχή μου ἐπὶ τοῖς ἀνῃρημένοις
Jer 5:1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it. Jer 5:1 "Roam to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, And look now and take note. And seek in her open squares, If you can find a man, If there is one who does justice, who seeks truth, Then I will pardon her. Jer 5:1 περιδράμετε ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἴδετε καὶ γνῶτε καὶ ζητήσατε ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις αὐτῆς ἐὰν εὕρητε ἄνδρα εἰ ἔστιν ποιῶν κρίμα καὶ ζητῶν πίστιν καὶ ἵλεως ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς λέγει κύριος
Jer 5:2 And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely. Jer 5:2 "And although they say, 'As the Lord lives, 'Surely they swear falsely." Jer 5:2 ζῇ κύριος λέγουσιν διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἐπὶ ψεύδεσιν ὀμνύουσιν
Jer 5:3 O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. Jer 5:3 O Lord, do not Your eyes look for truth? You have smitten them, But they did not weaken; You have consumed them, But they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to repent. Jer 5:3 κύριε οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου εἰς πίστιν ἐμαστίγωσας αὐτούς καὶ οὐκ ἐπόνεσαν συνετέλεσας αὐτούς καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησαν δέξασθαι παιδείαν ἐστερέωσαν τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ὑπὲρ πέτραν καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησαν ἐπιστραφῆναι
Jer 5:4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God. Jer 5:4 Then I said, "They are only the poor, They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the Lord Or the ordinance of their God. Jer 5:4 καὶ ἐγὼ εἶπα ἴσως πτωχοί εἰσιν διότι οὐκ ἐδυνάσθησαν ὅτι οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ὁδὸν κυρίου καὶ κρίσιν θεοῦ
Jer 5:5 I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds. Jer 5:5 "I will go to the great And will speak to them, For they know the way of the Lord And the ordinance of their God." But they too, with one accord, have broken the yoke And burst the bonds. Jer 5:5 πορεύσομαι πρὸς τοὺς ἁδροὺς καὶ λαλήσω αὐτοῖς ὅτι αὐτοὶ ἐπέγνωσαν ὁδὸν κυρίου καὶ κρίσιν θεοῦ καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁμοθυμαδὸν συνέτριψαν ζυγόν διέρρηξαν δεσμούς
Jer 5 6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased. Jer 5:6 Therefore a lion from the forest will slay them, A wolf of the deserts will destroy them, A leopard is watching their cities. Everyone who goes out of them will be torn in pieces, Because their transgressions are many, Their apostasies are numerous. Jer 5:6 διὰ τοῦτο ἔπαισεν αὐτοὺς λέων ἐκ τοῦ δρυμοῦ καὶ λύκος ἕως τῶν οἰκιῶν ὠλέθρευσεν αὐτούς καὶ πάρδαλις ἐγρηγόρησεν ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν πάντες οἱ ἐκπορευόμενοι ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν θηρευθήσονται ὅτι ἐπλήθυναν ἀσεβείας αὐτῶν ἴσχυσαν ἐν ταῖς ἀποστροφαῖς αὐτῶν
Jer 5:7 How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. Jer 5:7 "Why should I pardon you? Your sons have forsaken Me And sworn by those who are not gods. When I had fed them to the full, They committed adultery And trooped to the harlot's house. Jer 5:7 ποίᾳ τούτων ἵλεως γένωμαί σοι οἱ υἱοί σου ἐγκατέλιπόν με καὶ ὤμνυον ἐν τοῖς οὐκ οὖσιν θεοῖς καὶ ἐχόρτασα αὐτούς καὶ ἐμοιχῶντο καὶ ἐν οἴκοις πορνῶν κατέλυον
Jer 5:8 They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife. Jer 5:8 "They were well-fed lusty horses, Each one neighing after his neighbor's wife. Jer 5:8 ἵπποι θηλυμανεῖς ἐγενήθησαν ἕκαστος ἐπὶ τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐχρεμέτιζον
Jer 5:9 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? Jer 5:9 "Shall I not punish these people," declares the Lord, "And on a nation such as this Shall I not avenge Myself? Jer 5:10 Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's. Jer 5:11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD. Jer 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. Jer 5:15 Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say. Jer 5:17 And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword. Jer 5:19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not your's. Jer 5:19 It shall come about when they say, 'Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?'then you shall say to them, 'As you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.'
