Jer 22:1 Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word, Jer 22:1 Thus says the Lord, "Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and there speak this word Jer 22:1 τάδε λέγει κύριος πορεύου καὶ κατάβηθι εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως Ιουδα καὶ λαλήσεις ἐκεῖ τὸν λόγον τοῦτον
Jer 22:2 And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates: Jer 22:2 and say, 'Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, who sits on David's throne, you and your servants and your people who enter these gates. Jer 22:2 καὶ ἐρεῖς ἄκουε λόγον κυρίου βασιλεῦ Ιουδα ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ θρόνου Δαυιδ σὺ καὶ ὁ οἶκός σου καὶ ὁ λαός σου καὶ οἱ εἰσπορευόμενοι ταῖς πύλαις ταύταις
Jer 22:3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place. Jer 22:3 Thus says the Lord, "Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. Also do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place. Jer 22:3 τάδε λέγει κύριος ποιεῖτε κρίσιν καὶ δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἐξαιρεῖσθε διηρπασμένον ἐκ χειρὸς ἀδικοῦντος αὐτὸν καὶ προσήλυτον καὶ ὀρφανὸν καὶ χήραν μὴ καταδυναστεύετε καὶ μὴ ἀσεβεῖτε καὶ αἷμα ἀθῷον μὴ ἐκχέητε ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ
Jer 22:4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people. Jer 22:4 For if you men will indeed perform this thing, then kings will enter the gates of this house, sitting in David's place on his throne, riding in chariots and on horses, even the king himself and his servants and his people. Jer 22:4 διότι ἐὰν ποιοῦντες ποιήσητε τὸν λόγον τοῦτον καὶ εἰσελεύσονται ἐν ταῖς πύλαις τοῦ οἴκου τούτου βασιλεῖς καθήμενοι ἐπὶ θρόνου Δαυιδ καὶ ἐπιβεβηκότες ἐφ᾽ ἁρμάτων καὶ ἵππων αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ παῖδες αὐτῶν καὶ ὁ λαὸς αὐτῶν
Jer 22:5 But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation. Jer 22:5 But if you will not obey these words, I swear by Myself," declares the Lord, "that this house will become a desolation."'" Jer 22:5 ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ποιήσητε τοὺς λόγους τούτους κατ᾽ ἐμαυτοῦ ὤμοσα λέγει κύριος ὅτι εἰς ἐρήμωσιν ἔσται ὁ οἶκος οὗτος
Jer 22:6 For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited. Jer 22:6 For thus says the Lord concerning the house of the king of Judah: "You are like Gilead to Me, Like the summit of Lebanon; Yet most assuredly I will make you like a wilderness, Like cities which are not inhabited. Jer 22:6 ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος κατὰ τοῦ οἴκου βασιλέως Ιουδα Γαλααδ σύ μοι ἀρχὴ τοῦ Λιβάνου ἐὰν μὴ θῶ σε εἰς ἔρημον πόλεις μὴ κατοικηθησομένας
Jer 22:7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire. Jer 22:7 "For I will set apart destroyers against you, Each with his weapons; And they will cut down your choicest cedars And throw them on the fire. Jer 22:7 καὶ ἐπάξω ἐπὶ σὲ ἄνδρα ὀλεθρεύοντα καὶ τὸν πέλεκυν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκκόψουσιν τὰς ἐκλεκτὰς κέδρους σου καὶ ἐμβαλοῦσιν εἰς τὸ πῦρ
Jer 22:8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city? Jer 22:8 "Many nations will pass by this city; and they will say to one another, 'Why has the Lord done thus to this great city?' Jer 22:8 καὶ διελεύσονται ἔθνη διὰ τῆς πόλεως ταύτης καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ διὰ τί ἐποίησεν κύριος οὕτως τῇ πόλει τῇ μεγάλῃ ταύτῃ
Jer 22:9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them. Jer 22:9 Then they will answer, 'Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord their God and bowed down to other gods and served them.'" Jer 22:9 καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ἐγκατέλιπον τὴν διαθήκην κυρίου θεοῦ αὐτῶν καὶ προσεκύνησαν θεοῖς ἀλλοτρίοις καὶ ἐδούλευσαν αὐτοῖς
Jer 22 10 Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away for he shall return no more, nor see his native country. Jer 22:10 Do not weep for the dead or mourn for him, But weep continually for the one who goes away; For he will never return Or see his native land. Jer 22:10 μὴ κλαίετε τὸν τεθνηκότα μηδὲ θρηνεῖτε αὐτόν κλαύσατε κλαυθμῷ τὸν ἐκπορευόμενον ὅτι οὐκ ἐπιστρέψει ἔτι καὶ οὐ μὴ ἴδῃ τὴν γῆν πατρίδος αὐτοῦ
Jer 22:11 For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more: Jer 22:11 For thus says the Lord in regard to Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who became king in the place of Josiah his father, who went forth from this place, "He will never return there; Jer 22:11 διότι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ Σελλημ υἱὸν Ιωσια τὸν βασιλεύοντα ἀντὶ Ιωσια τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ὃς ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου τούτου οὐκ ἀναστρέψει ἐκεῖ οὐκέτι
Jer 22:12 But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more. Jer 22:12 but in the place where they led him captive, there he will die and not see this land again. Jer 22:12 ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ἐν τῷ τόπῳ οὗ μετῴκισα αὐτόν ἐκεῖ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ τὴν γῆν ταύτην οὐκ ὄψεται ἔτι
Jer 22:13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work; Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house without righteousness And his upper rooms without justice, Who uses his neighbor's services without pay And does not give him his wages, Jer 22:13 ὦ ὁ οἰκοδομῶν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ οὐ μετὰ δικαιοσύνης καὶ τὰ ὑπερῷα αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐν κρίματι παρὰ τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἐργᾶται δωρεὰν καὶ τὸν μισθὸν αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ἀποδώσει αὐτῷ
Jer 22:14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion. Jer 22:14 Who says, 'I will build myself a roomy house With spacious upper rooms, And cut out its windows, Paneling it with cedar and painting it bright red.' Jer 22:14 ᾠκοδόμησας σεαυτῷ οἶκον σύμμετρον ὑπερῷα ῥιπιστὰ διεσταλμένα θυρίσιν καὶ ἐξυλωμένα ἐν κέδρῳ καὶ κεχρισμένα ἐν μίλτῳ
Jer 22:15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him? Jer 22:15 "Do you become a king because you are competing in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink And do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him. Jer 22:15 μὴ βασιλεύσεις ὅτι σὺ παροξύνῃ ἐν Αχαζ τῷ πατρί σου οὐ φάγονται καὶ οὐ πίονται βέλτιον ἦν σε ποιεῖν κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην καλήν
Jer 22:16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD. Jer 22:16 "He pled the cause of the afflicted and needy; Then it was well. Is not that what it means to know Me?" Declares the Lord. Jer 22:16 οὐκ ἔγνωσαν οὐκ ἔκριναν κρίσιν ταπεινῷ οὐδὲ κρίσιν πένητος οὐ τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ μὴ γνῶναί σε ἐμέ λέγει κύριος
Jer 22:17 But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it. Jer 22:17 "But your eyes and your heart Are intent only upon your own dishonest gain, And on shedding innocent blood And on practicing oppression and extortion." Jer 22:17 ἰδοὺ οὔκ εἰσιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου οὐδὲ ἡ καρδία σου καλή ἀλλ᾽ εἰς τὴν πλεονεξίαν σου καὶ εἰς τὸ αἷμα τὸ ἀθῷον τοῦ ἐκχέειν αὐτὸ καὶ εἰς ἀδίκημα καὶ εἰς φόνον τοῦ ποιεῖν
Jer 22:18 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory! Jer 22 18 Therefore thus says the Lord in regard to Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, "They will not lament for him: 'Alas, my brother! 'or, 'Alas, sister! 'They will not lament for him 'Alas for the master! 'or, 'Alas for his splendor!' Jer 22:18 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ Ιωακιμ υἱὸν Ιωσια βασιλέα Ιουδα οὐαὶ ἐπὶ τὸν ἄνδρα τοῦτον οὐ μὴ κόψωνται αὐτόν ὦ ἀδελφέ οὐδὲ μὴ κλαύσονται αὐτόν οἴμμοι κύριε
Jer 22:19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem. Jer 22:19 "He will be buried with a donkey's burial, Dragged off and thrown out beyond the gates of Jerusalem. Jer 22:19 ταφὴν ὄνου ταφήσεται συμψησθεὶς ῥιφήσεται ἐπέκεινα τῆς πύλης Ιερουσαλημ
Jer 22:20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed. Jer 22:20 "Go up to Lebanon and cry out, And lift up your voice in Bashan; Cry out also from Abarim, For all your lovers have been crushed. Jer 22:20 ἀνάβηθι εἰς τὸν Λίβανον καὶ κέκραξον καὶ εἰς τὴν Βασαν δὸς τὴν φωνήν σου καὶ βόησον εἰς τὸ πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης ὅτι συνετρίβησαν πάντες οἱ ἐρασταί σου
Jer 22:21 I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice. Jer 22:21 "I spoke to you in your prosperity; But you said, 'I will not listen! 'This has been your practice from your youth, That you have not obeyed My voice. Jer 22:21 ἐλάλησα πρὸς σὲ ἐν τῇ παραπτώσει σου καὶ εἶπας οὐκ ἀκούσομαι αὕτη ἡ ὁδός σου ἐκ νεότητός σου οὐκ ἤκουσας τῆς φωνῆς μου
Jer 22:22 The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness. Jer 22:22 "The wind will sweep away all your shepherds, And your lovers will go into captivity; Then you will surely be ashamed and humiliated Because of all your wickedness. Jer 22:22 πάντας τοὺς ποιμένας σου ποιμανεῖ ἄνεμος καὶ οἱ ἐρασταί σου ἐν αἰχμαλωσίᾳ ἐξελεύσονται ὅτι τότε αἰσχυνθήσῃ καὶ ἀτιμωθήσῃ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν φιλούντων σε
Jer 22:23 O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail! Jer 22:23 "You who dwell in Lebanon, Nested in the cedars, How you will groan when pangs come upon you, Pain like a woman in childbirth! Jer 22:23 κατοικοῦσα ἐν τῷ Λιβάνῳ ἐννοσσεύουσα ἐν ταῖς κέδροις καταστενάξεις ἐν τῷ ἐλθεῖν σοι ὠδῖνας ὡς τικτούσης
Jer 22:24 As I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence; Jer 22:24 "As I live," declares the Lord, "even though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were a signet ring on My right hand, yet I would pull you off; Jer 22:24 ζῶ ἐγώ λέγει κύριος ἐὰν γενόμενος γένηται Ιεχονιας υἱὸς Ιωακιμ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα ἀποσφράγισμα ἐπὶ τῆς χειρὸς τῆς δεξιᾶς μου ἐκεῖθεν ἐκσπάσω σε
Jer 22:25 And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans. Jer 22:25 and I will give you over into the hand of those who are seeking your life, yes, into the hand of those whom you dread, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of the Chaldeans. Jer 22:25 καὶ παραδώσω σε εἰς χεῖρας τῶν ζητούντων τὴν ψυχήν σου ὧν σὺ εὐλαβῇ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν εἰς χεῖρας τῶν Χαλδαίων
Jer 22:26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die. Jer 22:26 I will hurl you and your mother who bore you into another country where you were not born, and there you will die. Jer 22:26 καὶ ἀπορρίψω σὲ καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου τὴν τεκοῦσάν σε εἰς γῆν οὗ οὐκ ἐτέχθης ἐκεῖ καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀποθανεῖσθε
Jer 22:27 But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return. Jer 22:27 But as for the land to which they desire to return, they will not return to it. Jer 22:27 εἰς δὲ τὴν γῆν ἣν αὐτοὶ εὔχονται ταῖς ψυχαῖς αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ ἀποστρέψωσιν
Jer 22:28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not? Jer 22:28 "Is this man Coniah a despised, shattered jar? Or is he an undesirable vessel? Why have he and his descendants been hurled out And cast into a land that they had not known? Jer 22:28 ἠτιμώθη Ιεχονιας ὡς σκεῦος οὗ οὐκ ἔστιν χρεία αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἐξερρίφη καὶ ἐξεβλήθη εἰς γῆν ἣν οὐκ ᾔδει
Jer 22:29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD. Jer 22:29 "O land, land, land, Hear the word of the Lord! Jer 22:29 γῆ γῆ ἄκουε λόγον κυρίου
Jer 22:30 Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah. Jer 22:30 "Thus says the Lord, 'Write this man down childless, A man who will not prosper in his days; For no man of his descendants will prosper Sitting on the throne of David Or ruling again in Judah.'" Jer 22:30 γράψον τὸν ἄνδρα τοῦτον ἐκκήρυκτον ἄνθρωπον ὅτι οὐ μὴ αὐξηθῇ ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτοῦ ἀνὴρ καθήμενος ἐπὶ θρόνου Δαυιδ ἄρχων ἔτι ἐν τῷ Ιουδα
Jer 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. Jer 23:1 "Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!" declares the Lord. Jer 23:1 ὦ οἱ ποιμένες οἱ διασκορπίζοντες καὶ ἀπολλύοντες τὰ πρόβατα τῆς νομῆς μου
Jer 23:2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD. Jer 23:2 Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people. "You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds," declares the Lord. Jer 23:2 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ τοὺς ποιμαίνοντας τὸν λαόν μου ὑμεῖς διεσκορπίσατε τὰ πρόβατά μου καὶ ἐξώσατε αὐτὰ καὶ οὐκ ἐπεσκέψασθε αὐτά ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐκδικῶ ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς κατὰ τὰ πονηρὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα ὑμῶν
Jer 23:3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. Jer 23:3 "Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply. Jer 23:3 καὶ ἐγὼ εἰσδέξομαι τοὺς καταλοίπους τοῦ λαοῦ μου ἀπὸ πάσης τῆς γῆς οὗ ἐξῶσα αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ καὶ καταστήσω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν νομὴν αὐτῶν καὶ αὐξηθήσονται καὶ πληθυνθήσονται
Jer 23:4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD. Jer 23:4 I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing," declares the Lord. Jer 23:4 καὶ ἀναστήσω αὐτοῖς ποιμένας οἳ ποιμανοῦσιν αὐτούς καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσονται ἔτι οὐδὲ πτοηθήσονται λέγει κύριος
Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. Jer 23:5 "Behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord, "When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land. Jer 23:5 ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται λέγει κύριος καὶ ἀναστήσω τῷ Δαυιδ ἀνατολὴν δικαίαν καὶ βασιλεύσει βασιλεὺς καὶ συνήσει καὶ ποιήσει κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Jer 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jer 23:6 "In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be called, 'The Lord our righteousness.' Jer 23:6 ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ σωθήσεται Ιουδας καὶ Ισραηλ κατασκηνώσει πεποιθώς καὶ τοῦτο τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ὃ καλέσει αὐτὸν κύριος Ιωσεδεκ
Jer 23:7 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; Jer 23:7 "Therefore behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord, "when they will no longer say, 'As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, ' Jer 23:7 διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται λέγει κύριος καὶ οὐκ ἐροῦσιν ἔτι ζῇ κύριος ὃς ἀνήγαγεν τὸν οἶκον Ισραηλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου
Jer 23:8 But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land. Jer 23:8 but, 'As the Lord lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.'Then they will live on their own soil." Jer 23:8 ἀλλά ζῇ κύριος ὃς συνήγαγεν ἅπαν τὸ σπέρμα Ισραηλ ἀπὸ γῆς βορρᾶ καὶ ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν χωρῶν οὗ ἐξῶσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ καὶ ἀπεκατέστησεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν
Jer 23:9 Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness. Jer 23:9 As for the prophets: My heart is broken within me, All my bones tremble; I have become like a drunken man, Even like a man overcome with wine, Because of the Lord And because of His holy words. Jer 23:9 ἐν τοῖς προφήταις συνετρίβη ἡ καρδία μου ἐν ἐμοὶ ἐσαλεύθη πάντα τὰ ὀστᾶ μου ἐγενήθην ὡς ἀνὴρ συντετριμμένος καὶ ὡς ἄνθρωπος συνεχόμενος ἀπὸ οἴνου ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου καὶ ἀπὸ προσώπου εὐπρεπείας δόξης αὐτοῦ
Jer 23:10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right. Jer 23:10 For the land is full of adulterers; For the land mourns because of the curse. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course also is evil And their might is not right. Jer 23:10 ὅτι ἀπὸ προσώπου τούτων ἐπένθησεν ἡ γῆ ἐξηράνθησαν αἱ νομαὶ τῆς ἐρήμου καὶ ἐγένετο ὁ δρόμος αὐτῶν πονηρὸς καὶ ἡ ἰσχὺς αὐτῶν οὐχ οὕτως
Jer 23:11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD. Jer 23 12 Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD. Jer 23:12 "Therefore their way will be like slippery paths to them, They will be driven away into the gloom and fall down in it; For I will bring calamity upon them, The year of their punishment," declares the Lord. Jer 23:12 διὰ τοῦτο γενέσθω ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτῶν αὐτοῖς εἰς ὀλίσθημα ἐν γνόφῳ καὶ ὑποσκελισθήσονται καὶ πεσοῦνται ἐν αὐτῇ διότι ἐπάξω ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς κακὰ ἐν ἐνιαυτῷ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν φησὶν κύριος
Jer 23:13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. Jer 23:13 "Moreover, among the prophets of Samaria I saw an offensive thing: They prophesied by Baal and led My people Israel astray. Jer 23 14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. Jer 23:14 "Also among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing: The committing of adultery and walking in falsehood; And they strengthen the hands of evildoers, So that no one has turned back from his wickedness. All of them have become to Me like Sodom, And her inhabitants like Gomorrah. Jer 23:14 καὶ ἐν τοῖς προφήταις Ιερουσαλημ ἑώρακα φρικτά μοιχωμένους καὶ πορευομένους ἐν ψεύδεσι καὶ ἀντιλαμβανομένους χειρῶν πονηρῶν τοῦ μὴ ἀποστραφῆναι ἕκαστον ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς ἐγενήθησάν μοι πάντες ὡς Σοδομα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες αὐτὴν ὥσπερ Γομορρα
Jer 23:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land. Jer 23 16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. Jer 23:16 Thus says the Lord of hosts, "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; They speak a vision of their own imagination, Not from the mouth of the Lord. Jer 23:17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. Jer 23:17 "They keep saying to those who despise Me, 'The Lord has said, "You will have peace"'; And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, They say, 'Calamity will not come upon you.' Jer 23:18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Jer 23:18 "But who has stood in the council of the Lord, That he should see and hear His word? Who has given heed to His word and listened? Jer 23:18 ὅτι τίς ἔστη ἐν ὑποστήματι κυρίου καὶ εἶδεν τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ τίς ἐνωτίσατο καὶ ἤκουσεν
Jer 23:19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. Jer 23:19 "Behold, the storm of the Lord has gone forth in wrath, Even a whirling tempest; It will swirl down on the head of the wicked. Jer 23:19 ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς παρὰ κυρίου καὶ ὀργὴ ἐκπορεύεται εἰς συσσεισμόν συστρεφομένη ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀσεβεῖς ἥξει
Jer 23:20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. Jer 23:20 "The anger of the Lord will not turn back Until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart; In the last days you will clearly understand it. Jer 23:20 καὶ οὐκέτι ἀποστρέψει ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ἕως ἂν ποιήσῃ αὐτὸ καὶ ἕως ἂν ἀναστήσῃ αὐτὸ ἀπὸ ἐγχειρήματος καρδίας αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτου τῶν ἡμερῶν νοήσουσιν αὐτά
Jer 23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. Jer 23:21 "I did not send these prophets, But they ran. I did not speak to them, But they prophesied. Jer 23:21 οὐκ ἀπέστελλον τοὺς προφήτας καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔτρεχον οὐκ ἐλάλησα πρὸς αὐτούς καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐπροφήτευον
Jer 23:22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. Jer 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. Jer 23:25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. Jer 23:25 "I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy falsely in My name, saying, 'I had a dream, I had a dream!' Jer 23:25 ἤκουσα ἃ λαλοῦσιν οἱ προφῆται ἃ προφητεύουσιν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου ψευδῆ λέγοντες ἠνυπνιασάμην ἐνύπνιον
Jer 23:26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Jer 23:26 How long? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even these prophets of the deception of their own heart, Jer 23:26 ἕως πότε ἔσται ἐν καρδίᾳ τῶν προφητῶν τῶν προφητευόντων ψευδῆ καὶ ἐν τῷ προφητεύειν αὐτοὺς τὰ θελήματα καρδίας αὐτῶν
Jer 23:27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. Jer 23:27 who intend to make My people forget My name by their dreams which they relate to one another, just as their fathers forgot My name because of Baal? Jer 23:27 τῶν λογιζομένων τοῦ ἐπιλαθέσθαι τοῦ νόμου μου ἐν τοῖς ἐνυπνίοις αὐτῶν ἃ διηγοῦντο ἕκαστος τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καθάπερ ἐπελάθοντο οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν τοῦ ὀνόματός μου ἐν τῇ Βααλ
Jer 23:28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. Jer 23:28 The prophet who has a dream may relate his dream, but let him who has My word speak My word in truth. What does straw have in common with grain?" declares the Lord. Jer 23:28 ὁ προφήτης ἐν ᾧ τὸ ἐνύπνιόν ἐστιν διηγησάσθω τὸ ἐνύπνιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ᾧ ὁ λόγος μου πρὸς αὐτόν διηγησάσθω τὸν λόγον μου ἐπ᾽ ἀληθείας τί τὸ ἄχυρον πρὸς τὸν σῖτον οὕτως οἱ λόγοι μου λέγει κύριος
Jer 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Jer 23:29 "Is not My word like fire?" declares the Lord, "and like a hammer which shatters a rock? Jer 23:29 οὐχὶ οἱ λόγοι μου ὥσπερ πῦρ φλέγον λέγει κύριος καὶ ὡς πέλυξ κόπτων πέτραν
Jer 23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. Jer 23:30 Therefore behold, I am against the prophets," declares the Lord, "who steal My words from each other. Jer 23:31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. Jer 23:32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD. Jer 23:32 Behold, I am against those who have prophesied false dreams," declares the Lord, "and related them and led My people astray by their falsehoods and reckless boasting; yet I did not send them or command them, nor do they furnish this people the slightest benefit," declares the Lord. Jer 23:32 ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ πρὸς τοὺς προφήτας τοὺς προφητεύοντας ἐνύπνια ψευδῆ καὶ διηγοῦντο αὐτὰ καὶ ἐπλάνησαν τὸν λαόν μου ἐν τοῖς ψεύδεσιν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς πλάνοις αὐτῶν καὶ ἐγὼ οὐκ ἀπέστειλα αὐτοὺς καὶ οὐκ ἐνετειλάμην αὐτοῖς καὶ ὠφέλειαν οὐκ ὠφελήσουσιν τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον
Jer 23:33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD. Jer 23:33 "Now when this people or the prophet or a priest asks you saying, 'What is the oracle of the Lord?' then you shall say to them, 'What oracle?' The Lord declares, 'I will abandon you.' Jer 23:33 καὶ ἐὰν ἐρωτήσωσί σε ὁ λαὸς οὗτος ἢ ἱερεὺς ἢ προφήτης λέγων τί τὸ λῆμμα κυρίου καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς ἐστε τὸ λῆμμα καὶ ῥάξω ὑμᾶς λέγει κύριος
Jer 23:34 And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house. Jer 23:34 Then as for the prophet or the priest or the people who say, 'The oracle of the Lord, 'I will bring punishment upon that man and his household. Jer 23:35 Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken? Jer 23:35 Thus will each of you say to his neighbor and to his brother, 'What has the Lord answered?' or, 'What has the Lord spoken?' Jer 23:35 ὅτι οὕτως ἐρεῖτε ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ τί ἀπεκρίθη κύριος καὶ τί ἐλάλησεν κύριος
Jer 23:36 And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God. Jer 23:36 For you will no longer remember the oracle of the Lord, because every man's own word will become the oracle, and you have perverted the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God. Jer 23:38 But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD; Jer 23:38 For if you say, 'The oracle of the Lord!' surely thus says the Lord, 'Because you said this word, "The oracle of the Lord." I have also sent to you, saying, "You shall not say, 'The oracle of the Lord!'"' Jer 23:39 Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence: Jer 23:39 Therefore behold, I will surely forget you and cast you away from My presence, along with the city which I gave you and your fathers. Jer 24:1 The LORD shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon. Jer 24:1 After Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the officials of Judah with the craftsmen and smiths from Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon, the Lord showed me: behold, two baskets of figs set before the temple of the Lord! Jer 24:1 ἔδειξέν μοι κύριος δύο καλάθους σύκων κειμένους κατὰ πρόσωπον ναοῦ κυρίου μετὰ τὸ ἀποικίσαι Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος τὸν Ιεχονιαν υἱὸν Ιωακιμ βασιλέα Ιουδα καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας καὶ τοὺς τεχνίτας καὶ τοὺς δεσμώτας καὶ τοὺς πλουσίους ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἤγαγεν αὐτοὺς εἰς Βαβυλῶνα
Jer 24:2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad. Jer 24:2 ὁ κάλαθος ὁ εἷς σύκων χρηστῶν σφόδρα ὡς τὰ σῦκα τὰ πρόιμα καὶ ὁ κάλαθος ὁ ἕτερος σύκων πονηρῶν σφόδρα ἃ οὐ βρωθήσεται ἀπὸ πονηρίας αὐτῶν
Jer 24:3 Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. Jer 24:3 Then the Lord said to me, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" And I said, "Figs, the good figs, very good; and the bad figs, very bad, which cannot be eaten due to rottenness." Jer 24:3 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με τί σὺ ὁρᾷς Ιερεμια καὶ εἶπα σῦκα τὰ χρηστὰ χρηστὰ λίαν καὶ τὰ πονηρὰ πονηρὰ λίαν ἃ οὐ βρωθήσεται ἀπὸ πονηρίας αὐτῶν
Jer 24:4 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jer 24:4 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Jer 24:4 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
Jer 24:5 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good. Jer 24:5 "Thus says the Lord God of Israel, 'Like these good figs, so I will regard as good the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans. Jer 24:5 τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ὡς τὰ σῦκα τὰ χρηστὰ ταῦτα οὕτως ἐπιγνώσομαι τοὺς ἀποικισθέντας Ιουδα οὓς ἐξαπέσταλκα ἐκ τοῦ τόπου τούτου εἰς γῆν Χαλδαίων εἰς ἀγαθά
Jer 24:6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. Jer 24 7 And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God for they shall return unto me with their whole heart. Jer 24:7 I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the Lord; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart. Jer 24:8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt: Jer 24:8 'But like the bad figs which cannot be eaten due to rottenness - indeed, thus says the Lord - so I will abandon Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials, and the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land and the ones who dwell in the land of Egypt. Jer 24:8 καὶ ὡς τὰ σῦκα τὰ πονηρά ἃ οὐ βρωθήσεται ἀπὸ πονηρίας αὐτῶν τάδε λέγει κύριος οὕτως παραδώσω τὸν Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα καὶ τοὺς μεγιστᾶνας αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ κατάλοιπον Ιερουσαλημ τοὺς ὑπολελειμμένους ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ καὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ
Jer 24:9 And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them. Jer 24:9 I will make them a terror and an evil for all the kingdoms of the earth, as a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse in all places where I will scatter them. Jer 24:10 And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
