Mar 1:1 ἀρχὴ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ [υἱοῦ θεοῦ].

Mar 1:2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. (kjv)

Mar 1:2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet: "Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, Who will prepare Your way;

Mar 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. (kjv)

Mar 1:5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. (kjv)

Mar 1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. (kjv)

Mar 1:12 And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness. (kjv)

Mar 1:13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. (kjv)

Mar 1:22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. (kjv)

Mar 1:23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, (kjv)

Mar 1:23 καὶ εὐθὺς ἦν ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ αὐτῶν ἄνθρωπος ἐν πνεύματι ἀκαθάρτῳ, καὶ ἀνέκραξεν

Mar 1:24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. (kjv)

Mar 1:24 saying, "What business do we have with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!"

Mar 1:24 λέγων, τί ἡμῖν καὶ σοί, ἰησοῦ ναζαρηνέ; ἦλθες ἀπολέσαι ἡμᾶς; οἶδά σε τίς εἶ, ὁ ἅγιος τοῦ θεοῦ.

Mar 1:25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. (kjv)

Mar 1:25 καὶ ἐπετίμησεν αὐτῶ ὁ ἰησοῦς λέγων, φιμώθητι καὶ ἔξελθε ἐξ αὐτοῦ.

Mar 1:26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. (kjv)

Mar 1:26 Throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.
|
Mar 1:26 καὶ σπαράξαν αὐτὸν τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἀκάθαρτον καὶ φωνῆσαν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ ἐξῆλθεν ἐξ αὐτοῦ.
|
Mar 1:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. (kjv)

Mar 1:27 They were all amazed, so that they debated among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him."

Mar 1:28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. (kjv)

Mar 1:29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. (kjv)

Mar 1:30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. (kjv)

Mar 1:30 Now Simon's mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever; and immediately they spoke to Jesus about her.

Mar 1:31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. (kjv)

Mar 1:31 And He came to her and raised her up, taking her by the hand, and the fever left her, and she waited on them.
|
Mar 1:31 καὶ προσελθὼν ἤγειρεν αὐτὴν κρατήσας τῆς χειρός· καὶ ἀφῆκεν αὐτὴν ὁ πυρετός, καὶ διηκόνει αὐτοῖς.

Mar 1:32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. (kjv)

Mar 1:32 When evening came, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed.
|
Mar 1:32 ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης, ὅτε ἔδυ ὁ ἥλιος, ἔφερον πρὸς αὐτὸν πάντας τοὺς κακῶς ἔχοντας καὶ τοὺς δαιμονιζομένους·

Mar 1:33 And all the city was gathered together at the door. (kjv)

Mar 1:34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him. (kjv)

Mar 1:34 And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
|
Mar 1:34 καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν πολλοὺς κακῶς ἔχοντας ποικίλαις νόσοις, καὶ δαιμόνια πολλὰ ἐξέβαλεν, καὶ οὐκ ἤφιεν λαλεῖν τὰ δαιμόνια, ὅτι ᾔδεισαν αὐτόν.

Mar 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. (kjv)
|
Mar 1:35 In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.

Mar 1:35 καὶ πρωῒ ἔννυχα λίαν ἀναστὰς ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν εἰς ἔρημον τόπον κἀκεῖ προσηύχετο.

Mar 1:36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. (kjv)

Mar 1:36 Simon and his companions searched for Him;

Mar 1:37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. (kjv)

Mar 1:37 they found Him, and said to Him, "Everyone is looking for You."

Mar 1:37 καὶ εὖρον αὐτὸν καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῶ ὅτι πάντες ζητοῦσίν σε.

Mar 1:38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. (kjv)

Mar 1:38 He said to them, "Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for."

Mar 1:38 καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, ἄγωμεν ἀλλαχοῦ εἰς τὰς ἐχομένας κωμοπόλεις, ἵνα καὶ ἐκεῖ κηρύξω· εἰς τοῦτο γὰρ ἐξῆλθον.

Mar 1:40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. (kjv)
|
Mar 1:40 And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."

Mar 1:40 καὶ ἔρχεται πρὸς αὐτὸν λεπρὸς παρακαλῶν αὐτὸν [καὶ γονυπετῶν] καὶ λέγων αὐτῶ ὅτι ἐὰν θέλῃς δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι.

Mar 1:41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. (kjv)
|
Mar 1:41 Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed."

Mar 1:41 καὶ σπλαγχνισθεὶς ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἥψατο καὶ λέγει αὐτῶ, θέλω, καθαρίσθητι·

Mar 1:42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. (kjv)

Mar 1:42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
|
Mar 1:42 καὶ εὐθὺς ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἡ λέπρα, καὶ ἐκαθαρίσθη.

Mar 1:43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; (kjv)

Mar 1:43 And He sternly warned him and immediately sent him away,

Mar 1:43 καὶ ἐμβριμησάμενος αὐτῶ εὐθὺς ἐξέβαλεν αὐτόν,
|
Mar 1:44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. (kjv)
|
Mar 1:44 and He said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

Mar 1:44 καὶ λέγει αὐτῶ, ὅρα μηδενὶ μηδὲν εἴπῃς, ἀλλὰ ὕπαγε σεαυτὸν δεῖξον τῶ ἱερεῖ καὶ προσένεγκε περὶ τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ σου ἃ προσέταξεν μωϊσῆς, εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς.

Mar 1:45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.(kjv)
|
Mar 1:45 But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the news around, to such an extent that Jesus could no longer publicly enter a city, but stayed out in unpopulated areas; and they were coming to Him from everywhere.

Mar 1:45 ὁ δὲ ἐξελθὼν ἤρξατο κηρύσσειν πολλὰ καὶ διαφημίζειν τὸν λόγον, ὥστε μηκέτι αὐτὸν δύνασθαι φανερῶς εἰς πόλιν εἰσελθεῖν, ἀλλ᾽ ἔξω ἐπ᾽ ἐρήμοις τόποις ἦν· καὶ ἤρχοντο πρὸς αὐτὸν πάντοθεν.

Mar 2:1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. (kjv)
|
Mar 2:1 When He had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that He was at home.
|
Mar 2:1 καὶ εἰσελθὼν πάλιν εἰς καφαρναοὺμ δι᾽ ἡμερῶν ἠκούσθη ὅτι ἐν οἴκῳ ἐστίν.

Mar 2:2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. (kjv)
|
Mar 2:2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them.

Mar 2:2 καὶ συνήχθησαν πολλοὶ ὥστε μηκέτι χωρεῖν μηδὲ τὰ πρὸς τὴν θύραν, καὶ ἐλάλει αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον.
|
Mar 2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. (kjv)
|
Mar 2:3 And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men.
|
Mar 2:3 καὶ ἔρχονται φέροντες πρὸς αὐτὸν παραλυτικὸν αἰρόμενον ὑπὸ τεσσάρων.
|
Mar 2:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. (kjv)
|
Mar 2:4 Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.

Mar 2:4 καὶ μὴ δυνάμενοι προσενέγκαι αὐτῶ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον ἀπεστέγασαν τὴν στέγην ὅπου ἦν, καὶ ἐξορύξαντες χαλῶσι τὸν κράβαττον ὅπου ὁ παραλυτικὸς κατέκειτο.

Mar 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. (kjv)
|
Mar 2:5 And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
