Day - 341 - Galatians 4-6
Gal 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; Gal 4:1 Now I say, as long as the heir is a child, he does not differ at all from a slave although he is owner of everything, Gal 4:1 λέγω δέ, ἐφ᾽ ὅσον χρόνον ὁ κληρονόμος νήπιός ἐστιν, οὐδὲν διαφέρει δούλου κύριος πάντων ὤν,
Gal 4:2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Gal 4:2 but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by the father.
Gal 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: Gal 4:3 So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world.
Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Gal 4:4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, Gal 4:4 ὅτε δὲ ἦλθεν τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ χρόνου, ἐξαπέστειλεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ, γενόμενον ἐκ γυναικός, γενόμενον ὑπὸ νόμον,
Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Gal 4:5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Gal 4:6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"
Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Gal 4:7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
Gal 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. Gal 4:8 However at that time, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those which by nature are no gods.
Gal 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Gal 4:9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again? Gal 4:9 νῦν δὲ γνόντες θεόν, μᾶλλον δὲ γνωσθέντες ὑπὸ θεοῦ, πῶς ἐπιστρέφετε πάλιν ἐπὶ τὰ ἀσθενῆ καὶ πτωχὰ στοιχεῖα, οἷς πάλιν ἄνωθεν δουλεύειν θέλετε;
Gal 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. Gal 4:10 You observe days and months and seasons and years.
Gal 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Gal 4:11 I fear for you, that perhaps I have labored over you in vain.
Gal 4:12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all. Gal 4:12 I beg of you, brethren, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You have done me no wrong; Gal 4:12 γίνεσθε ὡς ἐγώ, ὅτι κἀγὼ ὡς ὑμεῖς, ἀδελφοί, δέομαι ὑμῶν.
Gal 4:13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. Gal 4:13 but you know that it was because of a bodily illness that I preached the gospel to you the first time; Gal 4:13 οἴδατε δὲ ὅτι δι᾽ ἀσθένειαν τῆς σαρκὸς εὐηγγελισάμην ὑμῖν τὸ πρότερον,
Gal 4:14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. Gal 4:14 and that which was a trial to you in my bodily condition you did not despise or loathe, but you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus Himself.
Gal 4:15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. Gal 4:15 Where then is that sense of blessing you had? For I bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
Gal 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? Gal 4:16 So have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? Gal 4:16 ὥστε ἐχθρὸς ὑμῶν γέγονα ἀληθεύων ὑμῖν;
Gal 4:17 They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. Gal 4:17 They eagerly seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out so that you will seek them.
Gal 4:18 But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you. Gal 4:18 But it is good always to be eagerly sought in a commendable manner, and not only when I am present with you.
Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, Gal 4:19 My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you-- Gal 4:19 τέκνα μου, οὓς πάλιν ὠδίνω μέχρις οὖ μορφωθῇ χριστὸς ἐν ὑμῖν·
Gal 4:20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you. Gal 4:20 but I could wish to be present with you now and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.
Gal 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? Gal 4:21 Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not listen to the law? Gal 4:21 λέγετέ μοι, οἱ ὑπὸ νόμον θέλοντες εἶναι, τὸν νόμον οὐκ ἀκούετε;
Gal 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. Gal 4:22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the bondwoman and one by the free woman.
Gal 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Gal 4:23 But the son by the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.
Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. Gal 4:24 This is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants: one proceeding from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar.
Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. Gal 4:25 Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Gal 4:26 But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother.
Gal 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Gal 4:27 For it is written, "REJOICE, BARREN WOMAN WHO DOES NOT BEAR; BREAK FORTH AND SHOUT, YOU WHO ARE NOT IN LABOR; FOR MORE NUMEROUS ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE DESOLATE THAN OF THE ONE WHO HAS A HUSBAND."
Gal 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Gal 4:28 And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Gal 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Gal 4:29 But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
Gal 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. Gal 4:30 But what does the Scripture say? "CAST OUT THE BONDWOMAN AND HER SON, FOR THE SON OF THE BONDWOMAN SHALL NOT BE AN HEIR WITH THE SON OF THE FREE WOMAN."
Gal 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. Gal 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of a bondwoman, but of the free woman.
Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Gal 5:1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Gal 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. Gal 5:2 Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you.
Gal 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Gal 5:3 And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law.
Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Gal 5:4 You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.
Gal 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? Gal 5:7 You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? Gal 5:7 ἐτρέχετε καλῶς· τίς ὑμᾶς ἐνέκοψεν [τῇ] ἀληθείᾳ μὴ πείθεσθαι;
Gal 5:8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. Gal 5:8 This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you.
Gal 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. Gal 5:9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.
Gal 5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. Gal 5:10 I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.
Gal 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. Gal 5:11 But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished.
Gal 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you. Gal 5:12 I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves.
Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Gal 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Gal 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Gal 5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
Gal 5 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal 5:17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:19 φανερὰ δέ ἐστιν τὰ ἔργα τῆς σαρκός, ἅτινά ἐστιν πορνεία, ἀκαθαρσία, ἀσέλγεια,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:20 εἰδωλολατρία, φαρμακεία, ἔχθραι, ἔρις, ζῆλος, θυμοί, ἐριθείαι, διχοστασίαι, αἱρέσεις,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:22 ὁ δὲ καρπὸς τοῦ πνεύματός ἐστιν ἀγάπη, χαρά, εἰρήνη, μακροθυμία, χρηστότης, ἀγαθωσύνη, πίστις,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Gal 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Gal 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Gal 5:26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Gal 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.
Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.
Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. Gal 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
Gal 6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. Gal 6:4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another.
Gal 6:5 For every man shall bear his own burden. Gal 6:5 For each one will bear his own load.
Gal 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Gal 6:6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.
Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Gal 6:8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Gal 6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
Gal 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Gal 6:10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
Gal 6:11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. Gal 6:11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.
Gal 6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. Gal 6:12 Those who desire to make a good showing in the flesh try to compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
Gal 6:13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. Gal 6:13 For those who are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.
Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Gal 6:14 But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. Gal 6:15 For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Gal 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. Gal 6:16 And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
