Psalm 10
Psa 10:1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? Psa 10:1 Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble? Psa 10:1 ἵνα τί κύριε ἀφέστηκας μακρόθεν ὑπερορᾷς ἐν εὐκαιρίαις ἐν θλίψει
Psa 10:2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. Psa 10:2 In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. Psa 10:2 ἐν τῷ ὑπερηφανεύεσθαι τὸν ἀσεβῆ ἐμπυρίζεται ὁ πτωχός συλλαμβάνονται ἐν διαβουλίοις οἷς διαλογίζονται
Psa 10:3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. Psa 10:3 For the wicked boasts of his heart's desire, And the greedy man curses and spurns the Lord. Psa 10:3 ὅτι ἐπαινεῖται ὁ ἁμαρτωλὸς ἐν ταῖς ἐπιθυμίαις τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ ἀδικῶν ἐνευλογεῖται
Psa 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. Psa 10:4 The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, "There is no God." Psa 10:4 παρώξυνεν τὸν κύριον ὁ ἁμαρτωλός κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῆς ὀργῆς αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐκζητήσει οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ θεὸς ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ
Psa 10:5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them. Psa 10:5 His ways prosper at all times; Your judgments are on high, out of his sight; As for all his adversaries, he snorts at them. Psa 10:5 βεβηλοῦνται αἱ ὁδοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐν παντὶ καιρῷ ἀνταναιρεῖται τὰ κρίματά σου ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτοῦ κατακυριεύσει
Psa 10:6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. Psa 10:6 He says to himself, "I will not be moved; Throughout all generations I will not be in adversity." Psa 10:6 εἶπεν γὰρ ἐν καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ σαλευθῶ ἀπὸ γενεᾶς εἰς γενεὰν ἄνευ κακοῦ
Psa 10:7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. Psa 10:7 His mouth is full of curses and deceit and oppression; Under his tongue is mischief and wickedness. Psa 10:7 οὗ ἀρᾶς τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ γέμει καὶ πικρίας καὶ δόλου ὑπὸ τὴν γλῶσσαν αὐτοῦ κόπος καὶ πόνος
Psa 10 8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent his eyes are privily set against the poor. Psa 10:8 He sits in the lurking places of the villages; In the hiding places he kills the innocent; His eyes stealthily watch for the unfortunate. Psa 10:8 ἐγκάθηται ἐνέδρᾳ μετὰ πλουσίων ἐν ἀποκρύφοις ἀποκτεῖναι ἀθῷον οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν πένητα ἀποβλέπουσιν
Psa 10 9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net. Psa 10:9 He lurks in a hiding place as a lion in his lair; He lurks to catch the afflicted; He catches the afflicted when he draws him into his net. Psa 10:9 ἐνεδρεύει ἐν ἀποκρύφῳ ὡς λέων ἐν τῇ μάνδρᾳ αὐτοῦ ἐνεδρεύει τοῦ ἁρπάσαι πτωχόν ἁρπάσαι πτωχὸν ἐν τῷ ἑλκύσαι αὐτόν
Psa 10:10 He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones. Psa 10:10 He crouches, he bows down, And the unfortunate fall by his mighty ones. Psa 10:10 ἐν τῇ παγίδι αὐτοῦ ταπεινώσει αὐτόν κύψει καὶ πεσεῖται ἐν τῷ αὐτὸν κατακυριεῦσαι τῶν πενήτων
Psa 10:11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. Psa 10:11 He says to himself, "God has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it." Psa 10:11 εἶπεν γὰρ ἐν καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἐπιλέλησται ὁ θεός ἀπέστρεψεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ τοῦ μὴ βλέπειν εἰς τέλος
Psa 10:12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. Psa 10:12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up Your hand. Do not forget the afflicted. Psa 10:12 ἀνάστηθι κύριε ὁ θεός ὑψωθήτω ἡ χείρ σου μὴ ἐπιλάθῃ τῶν πενήτων
Psa 10:13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. Psa 10:13 Why has the wicked spurned God? He has said to himself, "You will not require it." Psa 10:13 ἕνεκεν τίνος παρώξυνεν ὁ ἀσεβὴς τὸν θεόν εἶπεν γὰρ ἐν καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐκζητήσει
Psa 10:14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. Psa 10:14 You have seen it, for You have beheld mischief and vexation to take it into Your hand. The unfortunate commits himself to You; You have been the helper of the orphan. Psa 10:14 βλέπεις ὅτι σὺ πόνον καὶ θυμὸν κατανοεῖς τοῦ παραδοῦναι αὐτοὺς εἰς χεῖράς σου σοὶ οὖν ἐγκαταλέλειπται ὁ πτωχός ὀρφανῷ σὺ ἦσθα βοηθῶν
Psa 10:15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none. Psa 10:15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evildoer, Seek out his wickedness until You find none. Psa 10:15 σύντριψον τὸν βραχίονα τοῦ ἁμαρτωλοῦ καὶ πονηροῦ ζητηθήσεται ἡ ἁμαρτία αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ εὑρεθῇ δι᾽ αὐτήν
Psa 10:16 The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land. Psa 10:16 The Lord is King forever and ever; Nations have perished from His land. Psa 10:16 βασιλεύσει κύριος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος ἀπολεῖσθε ἔθνη ἐκ τῆς γῆς αὐτοῦ
Psa 10 17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear Psa 10:17 O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear Psa 10:17 τὴν ἐπιθυμίαν τῶν πενήτων εἰσήκουσεν κύριος τὴν ἑτοιμασίαν τῆς καρδίας αὐτῶν προσέσχεν τὸ οὖς σου
Psa 10:18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress. Psa 10:18 To vindicate the orphan and the oppressed, So that man who is of the earth will no longer cause terror. Psa 10:18 κρῖναι ὀρφανῷ καὶ ταπεινῷ ἵνα μὴ προσθῇ ἔτι τοῦ μεγαλαυχεῖν ἄνθρωπος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
