Proverbs 12
Pro 12:1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. Pro 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid. Pro 12:1 ὁ ἀγαπῶν παιδείαν ἀγαπᾷ αἴσθησιν ὁ δὲ μισῶν ἐλέγχους ἄφρων
Pro 12:2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. Pro 12:2 A good man will obtain favor from the Lord, But He will condemn a man who devises evil. Pro 12:2 κρείσσων ὁ εὑρὼν χάριν παρὰ κυρίῳ ἀνὴρ δὲ παράνομος παρασιωπηθήσεται
Pro 12:3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved. Pro 12:3 A man will not be established by wickedness, But the root of the righteous will not be moved. Pro 12:3 οὐ κατορθώσει ἄνθρωπος ἐξ ἀνόμου αἱ δὲ ῥίζαι τῶν δικαίων οὐκ ἐξαρθήσονται
Pro 12:4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. Pro 12:4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones. Pro 12:4 γυνὴ ἀνδρεία στέφανος τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς ὥσπερ δὲ ἐν ξύλῳ σκώληξ οὕτως ἄνδρα ἀπόλλυσιν γυνὴ κακοποιός
Pro 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. Pro 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are just, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. Pro 12:5 λογισμοὶ δικαίων κρίματα κυβερνῶσιν δὲ ἀσεβεῖς δόλους
Pro 12:6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. Pro 12:6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, But the mouth of the upright will deliver them. Pro 12:6 λόγοι ἀσεβῶν δόλιοι στόμα δὲ ὀρθῶν ῥύσεται αὐτούς
Pro 12:7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand. Pro 12:7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more, But the house of the righteous will stand. Pro 12:7 οὗ ἐὰν στραφῇ ἀσεβὴς ἀφανίζεται οἶκοι δὲ δικαίων παραμένουσιν
Pro 12:8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised. Pro 12:8 A man will be praised according to his insight, But one of perverse mind will be despised. Pro 12:8 στόμα συνετοῦ ἐγκωμιάζεται ὑπὸ ἀνδρός νωθροκάρδιος δὲ μυκτηρίζεται
Pro 12:9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread. Pro 12:9 Better is he who is lightly esteemed and has a servant Than he who honors himself and lacks bread. Pro 12:9 κρείσσων ἀνὴρ ἐν ἀτιμίᾳ δουλεύων ἑαυτῷ ἢ τιμὴν ἑαυτῷ περιτιθεὶς καὶ προσδεόμενος ἄρτου
Pro 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. Pro 12:10 A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal, But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel. Pro 12:10 δίκαιος οἰκτίρει ψυχὰς κτηνῶν αὐτοῦ τὰ δὲ σπλάγχνα τῶν ἀσεβῶν ἀνελεήμονα
Pro 12:11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding. Pro 12:11 He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who pursues worthless things lacks sense. Pro 12:11 ὁ ἐργαζόμενος τὴν ἑαυτοῦ γῆν ἐμπλησθήσεται ἄρτων οἱ δὲ διώκοντες μάταια ἐνδεεῖς φρενῶν ~ ὅς ἐστιν ἡδὺς ἐν οἴνων διατριβαῖς ἐν τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ ὀχυρώμασιν καταλείψει ἀτιμίαν
Pro 12:12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit. Pro 12:12 The wicked man desires the booty of evil men, But the root of the righteous yields fruit. Pro 12:12 ἐπιθυμίαι ἀσεβῶν κακαί αἱ δὲ ῥίζαι τῶν εὐσεβῶν ἐν ὀχυρώμασιν
Pro 12:13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. Pro 12:13 An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, But the righteous will escape from trouble. Pro 12:13 δι᾽ ἁμαρτίαν χειλέων ἐμπίπτει εἰς παγίδας ἁμαρτωλός ἐκφεύγει δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν δίκαιος ~ ὁ βλέπων λεῖα ἐλεηθήσεται ὁ δὲ συναντῶν ἐν πύλαις ἐκθλίψει ψυχάς
Pro 12:14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him. Pro 12:14 A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, And the deeds of a man's hands will return to him. Pro 12:14 ἀπὸ καρπῶν στόματος ψυχὴ ἀνδρὸς πλησθήσεται ἀγαθῶν ἀνταπόδομα δὲ χειλέων αὐτοῦ δοθήσεται αὐτῷ
Pro 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. Pro 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel. Pro 12:15 ὁδοὶ ἀφρόνων ὀρθαὶ ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν εἰσακούει δὲ συμβουλίας σοφός
Pro 12:16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. Pro 12:16 A fool's anger is known at once, But a prudent man conceals dishonor. Pro 12:16 ἄφρων αὐθημερὸν ἐξαγγέλλει ὀργὴν αὐτοῦ κρύπτει δὲ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἀτιμίαν πανοῦργος
Pro 12:17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. Pro 12:17 He who speaks truth tells what is right, But a false witness, deceit. Pro 12:17 ἐπιδεικνυμένην πίστιν ἀπαγγέλλει δίκαιος ὁ δὲ μάρτυς τῶν ἀδίκων δόλιος
Pro 12:18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. Pro 12:18 There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing. Pro 12:18 εἰσὶν οἳ λέγοντες τιτρώσκουσιν μαχαίρᾳ γλῶσσαι δὲ σοφῶν ἰῶνται
Pro 12:19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Pro 12:19 Truthful lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment. Pro 12:19 χείλη ἀληθινὰ κατορθοῖ μαρτυρίαν μάρτυς δὲ ταχὺς γλῶσσαν ἔχει ἄδικον
Pro 12:20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. Pro 12:20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy. Pro 12:20 δόλος ἐν καρδίᾳ τεκταινομένου κακά οἱ δὲ βουλόμενοι εἰρήνην εὐφρανθήσονται
Pro 12:21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief. Pro 12:21 No harm befalls the righteous, But the wicked are filled with trouble. Pro 12:21 οὐκ ἀρέσει τῷ δικαίῳ οὐδὲν ἄδικον οἱ δὲ ἀσεβεῖς πλησθήσονται κακῶν
Pro 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. Pro 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal faithfully are His delight. Pro 12:22 βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ χείλη ψευδῆ ὁ δὲ ποιῶν πίστεις δεκτὸς παρ᾽ αὐτῷ
Pro 12:23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness. Pro 12:23 A prudent man conceals knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims folly. Pro 12:23 ἀνὴρ συνετὸς θρόνος αἰσθήσεως καρδία δὲ ἀφρόνων συναντήσεται ἀραῖς
Pro 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. Pro 12:24 The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor. Pro 12:24 χεὶρ ἐκλεκτῶν κρατήσει εὐχερῶς δόλιοι δὲ ἔσονται εἰς προνομήν
Pro 12:25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad. Pro 12:25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad. Pro 12:25 φοβερὸς λόγος καρδίαν ταράσσει ἀνδρὸς δικαίου ἀγγελία δὲ ἀγαθὴ εὐφραίνει αὐτόν
Pro 12:26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. Pro 12:26 The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, But the way of the wicked leads them astray. Pro 12:26 ἐπιγνώμων δίκαιος ἑαυτοῦ φίλος ἔσται αἱ δὲ γνῶμαι τῶν ἀσεβῶν ἀνεπιεικεῖς ἁμαρτάνοντας καταδιώξεται κακά ἡ δὲ ὁδὸς τῶν ἀσεβῶν πλανήσει αὐτούς
Pro 12:27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. Pro 12:27 A lazy man does not roast his prey, But the precious possession of a man is diligence. Pro 12:27 οὐκ ἐπιτεύξεται δόλιος θήρας κτῆμα δὲ τίμιον ἀνὴρ καθαρός
Pro 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death. Pro 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death. Pro 12:28 ἐν ὁδοῖς δικαιοσύνης ζωή ὁδοὶ δὲ μνησικάκων εἰς θάνατον
