Song of Solomon 4
SS 4:1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead. (kjv) Sos 4:1 "How beautiful you are, my darling, How beautiful you are! Your eyes are like doves behind your veil; Your hair is like a flock of goats That have descended from Mount Gilead. Sol 4:1 ἰδοὺ εἶ καλή ἡ πλησίον μου ἰδοὺ εἶ καλή ὀφθαλμοί σου περιστεραὶ ἐκτὸς τῆς σιωπήσεώς σου τρίχωμά σου ὡς ἀγέλαι τῶν αἰγῶν αἳ ἀπεκαλύφθησαν ἀπὸ τοῦ Γαλααδ
SS 4:2 Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them. (kjv) Sos 4:2 "Your teeth are like a flock of newly shorn ewes Which have come up from their washing, All of which bear twins, And not one among them has lost her young. Sol 4:2 ὀδόντες σου ὡς ἀγέλαι τῶν κεκαρμένων αἳ ἀνέβησαν ἀπὸ τοῦ λουτροῦ αἱ πᾶσαι διδυμεύουσαι καὶ ἀτεκνοῦσα οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν αὐταῖς
SS 4:3 Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks. (kjv) Sos 4:3 "Your lips are like a scarlet thread, And your mouth is lovely. Your temples are like a slice of a pomegranate Behind your veil. Sol 4:3 ὡς σπαρτίον τὸ κόκκινον χείλη σου καὶ ἡ λαλιά σου ὡραία ὡς λέπυρον τῆς ῥόας μῆλόν σου ἐκτὸς τῆς σιωπήσεώς σου
SS 4:4 Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men. (kjv) Sos 4:4 "Your neck is like the tower of David, Built with rows of stones On which are hung a thousand shields, All the round shields of the mighty men. Sol 4:4 ὡς πύργος Δαυιδ τράχηλός σου ὁ ᾠκοδομημένος εἰς θαλπιωθ χίλιοι θυρεοὶ κρέμανται ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν πᾶσαι βολίδες τῶν δυνατῶν
SS 4:5 Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies. (kjv) Sos 4:5 "Your two breasts are like two fawns, Twins of a gazelle Which feed among the lilies. Sol 4:5 δύο μαστοί σου ὡς δύο νεβροὶ δίδυμοι δορκάδος οἱ νεμόμενοι ἐν κρίνοις
SS 4:6 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. (kjv) Sos 4:6 "Until the cool of the day When the shadows flee away, I will go my way to the mountain of myrrh And to the hill of frankincense. Sol 4:6 ἕως οὗ διαπνεύσῃ ἡ ἡμέρα καὶ κινηθῶσιν αἱ σκιαί πορεύσομαι ἐμαυτῷ πρὸς τὸ ὄρος τῆς σμύρνης καὶ πρὸς τὸν βουνὸν τοῦ Λιβάνου
SS 4:7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee. (kjv) Sos 4:7 "You are altogether beautiful, my darling, And there is no blemish in you. Sol 4:7 ὅλη καλὴ εἶ ἡ πλησίον μου καὶ μῶμος οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν σοί
SS 4:8 Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards. (kjv) Sos 4:8 "Come with me from Lebanon, my bride, May you come with me from Lebanon. Journey down from the summit of Amana, From the summit of Senir and Hermon, From the dens of lions, From the mountains of leopards. Sol 4:8 δεῦρο ἀπὸ Λιβάνου νύμφη δεῦρο ἀπὸ Λιβάνου ἐλεύσῃ καὶ διελεύσῃ ἀπὸ ἀρχῆς πίστεως ἀπὸ κεφαλῆς Σανιρ καὶ Ερμων ἀπὸ μανδρῶν λεόντων ἀπὸ ὀρέων παρδάλεων
SS 4:9 Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck. (kjv) Sos 4:9 "You have made my heart beat faster, my sister, my bride; You have made my heart beat faster with a single glance of your eyes, With a single strand of your necklace. Sol 4:9 ἐκαρδίωσας ἡμᾶς ἀδελφή μου νύμφη ἐκαρδίωσας ἡμᾶς ἑνὶ ἀπὸ ὀφθαλμῶν σου ἐν μιᾷ ἐνθέματι τραχήλων σου
SS 4:10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices! (kjv) Sos 4:10 "How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much better is your love than wine, And the fragrance of your oils Than all kinds of spices! Sol 4:10 τί ἐκαλλιώθησαν μαστοί σου ἀδελφή μου νύμφη τί ἐκαλλιώθησαν μαστοί σου ἀπὸ οἴνου καὶ ὀσμὴ ἱματίων σου ὑπὲρ πάντα τὰ ἀρώματα
SS 4:11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon. (kjv) Sos 4:11 "Your lips, my bride, drip honey; Honey and milk are under your tongue, And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon. Sol 4:11 κηρίον ἀποστάζουσιν χείλη σου νύμφη μέλι καὶ γάλα ὑπὸ τὴν γλῶσσάν σου καὶ ὀσμὴ ἱματίων σου ὡς ὀσμὴ Λιβάνου
SS 4:12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. (kjv) Sos 4:12 "A garden locked is my sister, my bride, A rock garden locked, a spring sealed up. Sol 4:12 κῆπος κεκλεισμένος ἀδελφή μου νύμφη κῆπος κεκλεισμένος πηγὴ ἐσφραγισμένη
SS 4:13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, (kjv) Sos 4:13 "Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates With choice fruits, henna with nard plants, Sol 4:13 ἀποστολαί σου παράδεισος ῥοῶν μετὰ καρποῦ ἀκροδρύων κύπροι μετὰ νάρδων
SS 4:14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices: (kjv) Sos 4:14 Nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, With all the trees of frankincense, Myrrh and aloes, along with all the finest spices. Sol 4:14 νάρδος καὶ κρόκος κάλαμος καὶ κιννάμωμον μετὰ πάντων ξύλων τοῦ Λιβάνου σμύρνα αλωθ μετὰ πάντων πρώτων μύρων
SS 4:15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. (kjv) Sos 4:15 "You are a garden spring, A well of fresh water, And streams flowing from Lebanon." Sol 4:15 πηγὴ κήπων φρέαρ ὕδατος ζῶντος καὶ ῥοιζοῦντος ἀπὸ τοῦ Λιβάνου
SS 4:16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.(kjv) Sos 4:16 "Awake, O north wind, And come, wind of the south; Make my garden breathe out fragrance, Let its spices be wafted abroad. May my beloved come into his garden And eat its choice fruits!" Sol 4:16 ἐξεγέρθητι βορρᾶ καὶ ἔρχου νότε διάπνευσον κῆπόν μου καὶ ῥευσάτωσαν ἀρώματά μου καταβήτω ἀδελφιδός μου εἰς κῆπον αὐτοῦ καὶ φαγέτω καρπὸν ἀκροδρύων αὐτοῦ
