Titus 2
Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: (kjv) Tit 2:1 But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. Tit 2:1 σὺ δὲ λάλει ἃ πρέπει τῇ ὑγιαινούσῃ διδασκαλίᾳ.
Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. (kjv) Tit 2:2 Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance. Tit 2:2 πρεσβύτας νηφαλίους εἶναι, σεμνούς, σώφρονας, ὑγιαίνοντας τῇ πίστει, τῇ ἀγάπῃ, τῇ ὑπομονῇ.
Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; (kjv) Tit 2:3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, Tit 2:3 πρεσβύτιδας ὡσαύτως ἐν καταστήματι ἱεροπρεπεῖς, μὴ διαβόλους μηδὲ οἴνῳ πολλῶ δεδουλωμένας, καλοδιδασκάλους,
Tit 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, (kjv) Tit 2:4 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, Tit 2:4 ἵνα σωφρονίζωσιν τὰς νέας φιλάνδρους εἶναι, φιλοτέκνους,
Tit 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. (kjv) Tit 2:5 to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Tit 2:5 σώφρονας, ἁγνάς, οἰκουργούς ἀγαθάς, ὑποτασσομένας τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν, ἵνα μὴ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ βλασφημῆται.
Tit 2:6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. (kjv) Tit 2:6 Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; Tit 2:6 τοὺς νεωτέρους ὡσαύτως παρακάλει σωφρονεῖν·
Tit 2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, (kjv) Tit 2:7 in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, Tit 2:7 περὶ πάντα σεαυτὸν παρεχόμενος τύπον καλῶν ἔργων, ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ ἀφθορίαν, σεμνότητα,
Tit 2:8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. (kjv) Tit 2:8 sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. Tit 2:8 λόγον ὑγιῆ ἀκατάγνωστον, ἵνα ὁ ἐξ ἐναντίας ἐντραπῇ μηδὲν ἔχων λέγειν περὶ ἡμῶν φαῦλον.
Tit 2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; (kjv) Tit 2:9 Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, Tit 2:9 δούλους ἰδίοις δεσπόταις ὑποτάσσεσθαι ἐν πᾶσιν, εὐαρέστους εἶναι, μὴ ἀντιλέγοντας,
Tit 2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. (kjv) Tit 2:10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect. Tit 2:10 μὴ νοσφιζομένους, ἀλλὰ πᾶσαν πίστιν ἐνδεικνυμένους ἀγαθήν, ἵνα τὴν διδασκαλίαν τὴν τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ κοσμῶσιν ἐν πᾶσιν.
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, (kjv) Tit 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, Tit 2:11 ἐπεφάνη γὰρ ἡ χάρις τοῦ θεοῦ σωτήριος πᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; (kjv) Tit 2:12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, Tit 2:12 παιδεύουσα ἡμᾶς ἵνα ἀρνησάμενοι τὴν ἀσέβειαν καὶ τὰς κοσμικὰς ἐπιθυμίας σωφρόνως καὶ δικαίως καὶ εὐσεβῶς ζήσωμεν ἐν τῶ νῦν αἰῶνι,
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; (kjv) Tit 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, Tit 2:13 προσδεχόμενοι τὴν μακαρίαν ἐλπίδα καὶ ἐπιφάνειαν τῆς δόξης τοῦ μεγάλου θεοῦ καὶ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ,
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (kjv) Tit 2:14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. Tit 2:14 ὃς ἔδωκεν ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν ἵνα λυτρώσηται ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ πάσης ἀνομίας καὶ καθαρίσῃ ἑαυτῶ λαὸν περιούσιον, ζηλωτὴν καλῶν ἔργων.
Tit 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.(kjv) Tit 2:15 These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you. Tit 2:15 ταῦτα λάλει καὶ παρακάλει καὶ ἔλεγχε μετὰ πάσης ἐπιταγῆς· μηδείς σου περιφρονείτω.
