Jdg 4:2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles. Jdg 4:3 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel. Jdg 4:5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. Jdg 4:5 She used to sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment. Jdg 4:6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? Jdg 4:6 Now she sent and summoned Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh-naphtali, and said to him, "Behold, the Lord, the God of Israel, has commanded, 'Go and march to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men from the sons of Naphtali and from the sons of Zebulun. Jdg 4:7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand. Jdg 4:7 I will draw out to you Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his many troops to the river Kishon, and I will give him into your hand.'" Jdg 4:8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. Jdg 4:8 Then Barak said to her, "If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go." JdB|4|8|καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὴν Βαρακ ἐὰν πορευθῇς μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ πορεύσομαι καὶ ἐὰν μὴ πορευθῇς οὐ πορεύσομαι ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα τὴν ἡμέραν ἐν ᾗ εὐοδοῖ τὸν ἄγγελον κύριος μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ
Jdg 4:9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. Jdg 4:9 She said, "I will surely go with you; nevertheless, the honor shall not be yours on the journey that you are about to take, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hands of a woman." Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh. JdB|4|9|καὶ εἶπεν πορευομένη πορεύσομαι μετὰ σοῦ πλὴν γίνωσκε ὅτι οὐκ ἔσται τὸ προτέρημά σου ἐπὶ τὴν ὁδόν ἣν σὺ πορεύῃ ὅτι ἐν χειρὶ γυναικὸς ἀποδώσεται κύριος τὸν Σισαρα καὶ ἀνέστη Δεββωρα καὶ ἐπορεύθη μετὰ Βαρακ ἐκ Καδης
Jdg 4:10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him. Jdg 4:10 Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh, and ten thousand men went up with him; Deborah also went up with him. Jdg 4:11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh. Jdg 4:11 Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, from the sons of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far away as the oak in Zaanannim, which is near Kedesh. JdB|4|11|καὶ Χαβερ ὁ Κιναῖος ἐχωρίσθη ἀπὸ Καινα ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ιωβαβ γαμβροῦ Μωυσῆ καὶ ἔπηξεν τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτοῦ ἕως δρυὸς πλεονεκτούντων ἥ ἐστιν ἐχόμενα Κεδες
Jdg 4:12 And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor. Jdg 4:12 Then they told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor. JdB|4|12|καὶ ἀνηγγέλη Σισαρα ὅτι ἀνέβη Βαρακ υἱὸς Αβινεεμ εἰς ὄρος Θαβωρ
Jdg 4:13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon. Jdg 4:13 Sisera called together all his chariots, nine hundred iron chariots, and all the people who were with him, from Harosheth-hagoyim to the river Kishon. Jdg 4:14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him. Jdg 4:14 Deborah said to Barak, "Arise! For this is the day in which the Lord has given Sisera into your hands; behold, the Lord has gone out before you." So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him. Jdg 4:15 And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet. Jdg 4:15 The Lord routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot and fled away on foot. Jdg 4:16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left. Jdg 4:16 But Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Harosheth-hagoyim, and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not even one was left. Jdg 4:17 Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite. Jdg 4:17 Now Sisera fled away on foot to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite, for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite. Jdg 4:18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle. Jdg 4:18 Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, "Turn aside, my master, turn aside to me! Do not be afraid." And he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug. JdB|4|18|καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Ιαηλ εἰς συνάντησιν Σισαρα καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἔκκλινον κύριέ μου ἔκκλινον πρός με μὴ φοβοῦ καὶ ἐξέκλινεν πρὸς αὐτὴν εἰς τὴν σκηνήν καὶ περιέβαλεν αὐτὸν ἐπιβολαίῳ
Jdg 4:19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him. Jdg 4:19 He said to her, "Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty." So she opened a bottle of milk and gave him a drink; then she covered him. JdB|4|19|καὶ εἶπεν Σισαρα πρὸς αὐτήν πότισόν με δὴ μικρὸν ὕδωρ ὅτι ἐδίψησα καὶ ἤνοιξεν τὸν ἀσκὸν τοῦ γάλακτος καὶ ἐπότισεν αὐτὸν καὶ περιέβαλεν αὐτόν
Jdg 4:20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No. Jdg 4:20 He said to her, "Stand in the doorway of the tent, and it shall be if anyone comes and inquires of you, and says, 'Is there anyone here?' that you shall say, 'No.'" JdB|4|20|καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὴν Σισαρα στῆθι δὴ ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ἀνὴρ ἔλθῃ πρὸς σὲ καὶ ἐρωτήσῃ σε καὶ εἴπῃ εἰ ἔστιν ὧδε ἀνήρ καὶ ἐρεῖς οὐκ ἔστιν
Jdg 4:21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died. Jdg 4:21 But Jael, Heber's wife, took a tent peg and seized a hammer in her hand, and went secretly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went through into the ground; for he was sound asleep and exhausted. So he died. JdB|4|21|καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιαηλ γυνὴ Χαβερ τὸν πάσσαλον τῆς σκηνῆς καὶ ἔθηκεν τὴν σφῦραν ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτῆς καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐν κρυφῇ καὶ ἔπηξεν τὸν πάσσαλον ἐν τῷ κροτάφῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ διεξῆλθεν ἐν τῇ γῇ καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξεστὼς ἐσκοτώθη καὶ ἀπέθανεν
Jdg 4:22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples. Jdg 4:22 And behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him and said to him, "Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking." And he entered with her, and behold Sisera was lying dead with the tent peg in his temple. Jdg 4:24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan. Jdg 4:24 The hand of the sons of Israel pressed heavier and heavier upon Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin the king of Canaan. Jdg 5:3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel. Jdg 5:3 "Hear, O kings; give ear, O rulers! Jdg 5:4 LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water. Jdg 5:5 The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel. Jdg 5:5 "The mountains quaked at the presence of the Lord, This Sinai, at the presence of the Lord, the God of Israel. Jdg 5:6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways. Jdg 5:7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel. Jdg 5:8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? Jdg 5:8 "New gods were chosen; Then war was in the gates. Jdg 5:9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD. Jdg 5:9 "My heart goes out to the commanders of Israel, The volunteers among the people; Bless the Lord! JdB|5|9|ἡ καρδία μου εἰς τὰ διατεταγμένα τῷ Ισραηλ οἱ ἑκουσιαζόμενοι ἐν λαῷ εὐλογεῖτε κύριον
Jdg 5:10 Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way. Jdg 5:10 "You who ride on white donkeys, You who sit on rich carpets, And you who travel on the road"sing! JdB|5|10|ἐπιβεβηκότες ἐπὶ ὄνου θηλείας μεσημβρίας καθήμενοι ἐπὶ κριτηρίου καὶ πορευόμενοι ἐπὶ ὁδοὺς συνέδρων ἐφ᾽ ὁδῷ
Jdg 5:11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates. Jdg 5:11 "At the sound of those who divide flocks among the watering places, There they shall recount the righteous deeds of the Lord, The righteous deeds for His peasantry in Israel. Then the people of the Lord went down to the gates. Jdg 5:12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam. Jdg 5:12 "Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, sing a song! Jdg 5:13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty. Jdg 5:14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer. Jdg 5:14 "From Ephraim those whose root is in Amalek came down, Following you, Benjamin, with your peoples; From Machir commanders came down, And from Zebulun those who wield the staff of office.
