Links to all Books and Chapters Today's Date: 4/3/2025 ======= Numbers 35:1 ============ Num 35:1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho, saying,(nasb) Num 35:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,(kjv) Num 35:1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, saying:(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:2 ============ Num 35:2 "Command the sons of Israel that they give to the Levites from the inheritance of their possession cities to live in; and you shall give to the Levites pasture lands around the cities.(nasb) Num 35:2 Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.(kjv) Num 35:2 "Command the children of Israel that they give the Levites cities to dwell in from the inheritance of their possession, and you shall also give the Levites common-land around the cities.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:3 ============ Num 35:3 The cities shall be theirs to live in; and their pasture lands shall be for their cattle and for their herds and for all their beasts.(nasb) Num 35:3 And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.(kjv) Num 35:3 They shall have the cities to dwell in; and their common-land shall be for their cattle, for their herds, and for all their animals.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:4 ============ Num 35:4 "The pasture lands of the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall extend from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits around.(nasb) Num 35:4 And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.(kjv) Num 35:4 The common-land of the cities which you shall give the Levites shall extend from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits all around.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:5 ============ Num 35:5 You shall also measure outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits, with the city in the center. This shall become theirs as pasture lands for the cities. (nasb) Num 35:5 And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.(kjv) Num 35:5 And you shall measure outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, on the south side two thousand cubits, on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits. The city shall be in the middle. This shall belong to them as common-land for the cities.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:6 ============ Num 35:6 The cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the manslayer to flee to; and in addition to them you shall give forty-two cities.(nasb) Num 35:6 And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.(kjv) Num 35:6 Now among the cities which you will give to the Levites you shall appoint six cities of refuge, to which a manslayer may flee. And to these you shall add forty-two cities.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:7 ============ Num 35:7 All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities, together with their pasture lands.(nasb) Num 35:7 So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs.(kjv) Num 35:7 So all the cities you will give to the Levites shall be forty-eight; these you shall give with their common-land.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:8 ============ Num 35:8 As for the cities which you shall give from the possession of the sons of Israel, you shall take more from the larger and you shall take less from the smaller; each shall give some of his cities to the Levites in proportion to his possession which he inherits."(nasb) Num 35:8 And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.(kjv) Num 35:8 And the cities which you will give shall be from the possession of the children of Israel; from the larger tribe you shall give many, from the smaller you shall give few. that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.(kjv) Num 35:11 then you shall appoint cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:12 ============ Num 35:12 The cities shall be to you as a refuge from the avenger, so that the manslayer will not die until he stands before the congregation for trial.(nasb) Num 35:12 And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:17 ============ Num 35:17 If he struck him down with a stone in the hand, by which he will die, and as a result he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nasb) Num 35:18 Or if he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.(kjv) Num 35:18 Or if he strikes him with a wooden hand weapon, by which one could die, and he does die, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:19 ============ Num 35:19 The blood avenger himself shall put the murderer to death; he shall put him to death when he meets him.(nasb) Num 35:19 The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.(kjv) Num 35:19 The avenger of blood himself shall put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:20 ============ Num 35:20 If he pushed him of hatred, or threw something at him lying in wait and as a result he died,(nasb) Num 35:20 But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;(kjv) Num 35:20 If he pushes him out of hatred or, while lying in wait, hurls something at him so that he dies,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:21 ============ Num 35:21 or if he struck him down with his hand in enmity, and as a result he died, the one who struck him shall surely be put to death, he is a murderer; the blood avenger shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.(nasb) Num 35:21 Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.(kjv) Num 35:21 or in enmity he strikes him with his hand so that he dies, the one who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:22 ============ Num 35:22 'But if he pushed him suddenly without enmity, or threw something at him without lying in wait,(nasb) Num 35:22 But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,(kjv) Num 35:22 'However, if he pushes him suddenly without enmity, or throws anything at him without lying in wait,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:23 ============ Num 35:23 or with any deadly object of stone, and without seeing it dropped on him so that he died, while he was not his enemy nor seeking his injury,(nasb) Num 35:23 Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm:(kjv) Num 35:23 or uses a stone, by which a man could die, throwing it at him without seeing him, so that he dies, while he was not his enemy or seeking his harm,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:24 ============ Num 35:24 then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the blood avenger according to these ordinances.(nasb) Num 35:24 Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:(kjv) Num 35:24 then the congregation shall judge between the manslayer and the avenger of blood according to these judgments.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:25 ============ Num 35:25 The congregation shall deliver the manslayer from the hand of the blood avenger, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he fled; and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.(nasb) Num 35:25 And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.(kjv) Num 35:25 So the congregation shall deliver the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall return him to the city of refuge where he had fled, and he shall remain there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:26 ============ Num 35:26 But if the manslayer at any time goes beyond the border of his city of refuge to which he may flee,(nasb) Num 35:26 But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled;(kjv) Num 35:26 But if the manslayer at any time goes outside the limits of the city of refuge where he fled,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:27 ============ Num 35:27 and the blood avenger finds him outside the border of his city of refuge, and the blood avenger kills the manslayer, he will not be guilty of blood(nasb) Num 35:27 And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:(kjv) Num 35:27 and the avenger of blood finds him outside the limits of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,(nkjv) ======= Numbers 35:28 ============ Num 35:28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return to the land of his possession.(nasb) Num 35:28 Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.(kjv) Num 35:28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest.
