And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her.(kjv) Est 8:1 On that day King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. So Esther arose and stood before the king,(nkjv) ======= Esther 8:5 ============ Est 8:5 Then she said, "If it pleases the king and if I have found favor before him and the matter seems proper to the king and I am pleasing in his sight, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the king's provinces.(nasb) Est 8:5 And said, If it please the king, and if I have favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces:(kjv) Est 8:5 and said, "If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews who are in all the king's provinces.(nkjv) ======= Esther 8:6 ============ Est 8:6 For how can I endure to see the calamity which will befall my people, and how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?"(nasb) Est 8:6 For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?(kjv) Est 8:6 For how can I endure to see the evil that will come to my people? Or how can I endure to see the destruction of my countrymen?"(nkjv) ======= Esther 8:7 ============ Est 8:7 So King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, "Behold, I have given the house of Haman to Esther, and him they have hanged on the gallows because he had stretched out his hands against the Jews. and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews, the satraps, the governors and the princes of the provinces which extended from India to Ethiopia, 127 provinces, to every province according to its script, and to every people according to their language as well as to the Jews according to their script and their language.(nasb) Est 8:9 Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.(kjv) Est 8:9 So the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which is the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day; and the decree was given out at the citadel in Susa.(nasb) Est 8:14 So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace.(kjv) Est 8:14 The couriers who rode on royal horses went out, hastened and pressed on by the king's command. Then many of the people of the land became Jews, because fear of the Jews fell upon them.(nkjv) ======= Esther 9:1 ============ Est 9:1 Now in the twelfth month (that is, the month Adar), on the thirteenth day when the king's command and edict were about to be executed, on the day when the enemies of the Jews hoped to gain the mastery over them, it was turned to the contrary so that the Jews themselves gained the mastery over those who hated them.(nasb) Est 9:1 Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)(kjv) Est 9:1 Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, the time came for the king's command and his decree to be executed.
