Why then has Malcam taken possession of Gad And his people settled in its cities? (nasb) Jer 49:1 Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?(kjv) Jer 49:1 Against the Ammonites. Thus says the Lord: "Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Milcom inherit Gad, And his people dwell in its cities?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:2 ============ Jer 49:2 "Therefore behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord, "That I will cause a trumpet blast of war to be heard Against Rabbah of the sons of Ammon; And it will become a desolate heap, And her towns will be set on fire. Then Israel will take possession of his possessors," Says the Lord. Who trusted in her treasures, saying, 'Who will come against me?'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:5 ============ Jer 49:5 "Behold, I am going to bring terror upon you," Declares the Lord God of hosts, "From all directions around you; And each of you will be driven out headlong, With no one to gather the fugitives together. (nasb) Jer 49:5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.(kjv) Jer 49:5 Behold, I will bring fear upon you," Says the Lord God of hosts, "From all those who are around you; You shall be driven out, everyone headlong, And no one will gather those who wander off.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:6 ============ Jer 49:6 "But afterward I will restore The fortunes of the sons of Ammon," Declares the Lord. Has their wisdom vanished?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:8 ============ Jer 49:8 "Flee away, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan, For I will bring the disaster of Esau upon him At the time I punish him. (nasb) Jer 49:8 Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.(kjv) Jer 49:8 Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan! If thieves came by night, They would destroy only until they had enough. There is an outcry! The noise of it has been heard at the Red Sea. (nasb) Jer 49:21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.(kjv) Jer 49:21 The earth shakes at the noise of their fall; At the cry its noise is heard at the Red Sea.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:22 ============ Jer 49:22 Behold, He will mount up and swoop like an eagle and spread out His wings against Bozrah; and the hearts of the mighty men of Edom in that day will be like the heart of a woman in labor.
