Today's Date: ======= Judges 19:1 ============ Jdg 19:1 Now it came about in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite staying in the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, who took a concubine for himself from Bethlehem in Judah.(nasb) Jdg 19:1 Fuit quidam vir Levites habitans in latere montis Ephraim, qui accepit uxorem de Bethlehem Juda:(vulgate) Jueces 19:1 Y aconteció en aquellos días, cuando no [había] rey en Israel, que hubo un levita que moraba como peregrino en los lados del monte de Efraín, el cual había tomado para sí a una concubina de Belén de Judá.(E) Juges 19:1 Dans ce temps où il n'y avait point de roi en Israël, un Lévite, qui séjournait à l'extrémité de la montagne d'Ephraïm, prit pour sa concubine une femme de Bethléhem de Juda.(F) Jdg 19:1 Zu der Zeit war kein König in Israel. Und ein levitischer Mann war Fremdling an der Seite des Gebirges Ephraim und hatte sich ein Kebsweib genommen von Bethlehem-Juda.(D) Jdg 19:1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ οὐκ ἦν βασιλεὺς ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγένετο ἀνὴρ Λευίτης παροικῶν ἐν μηροῖς ὄρους Εφραιμ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτῷ γυναῖκα παλλακὴν ἀπὸ Βηθλεεμ Ιουδα(lxx) Jdg 19:1 And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite staying in the remote mountains of Ephraim. He took for himself a concubine from Bethlehem in Judah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:2 ============ Jdg 19:2 But his concubine played the harlot against him, and she went away from him to her father's house in Bethlehem in Judah, and was there for a period of four months.(nasb) Jdg 19:2 quæ reliquit eum, et reversa est in domum patris sui in Bethlehem, mansitque apud eum quatuor mensibus.(vulgate) Jueces 19:2 Y su concubina cometió adulterio contra él, y se fue de él a casa de su padre, a Belén de Judá, y estuvo allá por tiempo de cuatro meses.(E) Juges 19:2 Sa concubine lui fit infidélité, et elle le quitta pour aller dans la maison de son père à Bethléhem de Juda, où elle resta l'espace de quatre mois.(F) Jdg 19:2 Und da sie hatte neben ihm gehurt, lief sie von ihm zu ihres Vaters Haus gen Bethlehem-Juda und war daselbst vier Monate lang.(D) Jdg 19:2 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπῆλθεν παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς οἶκον πατρὸς αὐτῆς εἰς Βηθλεεμ Ιουδα καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ ἡμέρας τεσσάρων μηνῶν(lxx) Jdg 19:2 But his concubine played the harlot against him, and went away from him to her father's house at Bethlehem in Judah, and was there four whole months.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:3 ============ Jdg 19:3 Then her husband arose and went after her to speak tenderly to her in order to bring her back, taking with him his servant and a pair of donkeys. So she brought him into her father's house, and when the girl's father saw him, he was glad to meet him.(nasb) Jdg 19:3 Secutusque est eam vir suus, volens reconciliari ei, atque blandiri, et secum reducere, habens in comitatu puerum et duos asinos: quæ suscepit eum, et introduxit in domum patris sui. Quod cum audisset socer ejus, eumque vidisset, occurrit ei lætus,(vulgate) Jueces 19:3 Y se levantó su marido, y la siguió, para hablarle amorosamente y hacerla volver, llevando consigo un criado suyo y un par de asnos; y ella le metió en la casa de su padre. Y viéndole el padre de la joven, le salió a recibir gozoso;(E) Juges 19:3 Son mari se leva et alla vers elle, pour parler à son coeur et la ramener. Il avait avec lui son serviteur et deux ânes. Elle le fit entrer dans la maison de son père; et quand le père de la jeune femme le vit, il le reçut avec joie.(F) Jdg 19:3 Und ihr Mann machte sich auf und zog ihr nach, daß er freundlich mit ihr redete und sie wieder zu sich holte; und hatte einen Knecht und ein Paar Esel mit sich. Und sie führte ihn in ihres Vaters Haus. Da ihn aber der Vater der Dirne sah, ward er froh und empfing ihn.(D) Jdg 19:3 καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω αὐτῆς τοῦ λαλῆσαι ἐπὶ καρδίαν αὐτῆς τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι αὐτὴν αὐτῷ καὶ νεανίας αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ζεῦγος ὄνων καὶ ἥδε εἰσήνεγκεν αὐτὸν εἰς οἶκον πατρὸς αὐτῆς καὶ εἶδεν αὐτὸν ὁ πατὴρ τῆς νεάνιδος καὶ ηὐφράνθη εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοῦ(lxx) Jdg 19:3 Then her husband arose and went after her, to speak kindly to her and bring her back, having his servant and a couple of donkeys with him. So she brought him into her father's house; and when the father of the young woman saw him, he was glad to meet him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:4 ============ Jdg 19:4 His father-in-law, the girl's father, detained him; and he remained with him three days. So they ate and drank and lodged there.(nasb) Jdg 19:4 et amplexatus est hominem. Mansitque gener in domo soceri tribus diebus, comedens cum eo et bibens familiariter.(vulgate) Jueces 19:4 y le detuvo su suegro, padre de la joven, y quedó en su casa tres días, comiendo y bebiendo, y reposando allí.(E) Juges 19:4 Son beau-père, le père de la jeune femme, le retint trois jours chez lui. Ils mangèrent et burent, et ils y passèrent la nuit.(F) Jdg 19:4 Und sein Schwiegervater, der Dirne Vater, hielt ihn, daß er drei Tage bei ihm blieb; sie aßen und tranken und blieben des Nachts da.(D) Jdg 19:4 καὶ κατέσχεν αὐτὸν ὁ γαμβρὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ πατὴρ τῆς νεάνιδος καὶ ἐκάθισεν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον καὶ ηὐλίσθησαν ἐκεῖ(lxx) Jdg 19:4 Now his father-in-law, the young woman's father, detained him; and he stayed with him three days. So they ate and drank and lodged there.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:5 ============ Jdg 19:5 Now on the fourth day they got up early in the morning, and he prepared to go; and the girl's father said to his son-in-law, "Sustain yourself with a piece of bread, and afterward you may go."(nasb) Jdg 19:5 Die autem quarto de nocte consurgens, proficisci voluit: quem tenuit socer, et ait ad eum: Gusta prius pauxillum panis, et conforta stomachum, et sic proficisceris.(vulgate) Jueces 19:5 Y aconteció al cuarto día, cuando se levantaron de mañana, que se levantó también [el levita] para irse, y el padre de la joven dijo a su yerno: Conforta tu corazón con un bocado de pan, y después os iréis.(E) Juges 19:5 Le quatrième jour, ils se levèrent de bon matin, et le Lévite se disposait à partir. Mais le père de la jeune femme dit à son gendre: Prends un morceau de pain pour fortifier ton coeur; vous partirez ensuite.(F) Jdg 19:5 Des vierten Tages erhoben sie sich des Morgens früh, und er machte sich auf und wollte ziehen. Da sprach der Dirne Vater zu seinem Eidam: Labe dein Herz zuvor mit einem Bissen Brot, darnach sollt ihr ziehen.(D) Jdg 19:5 καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τετάρτῃ καὶ ὤρθρισαν τὸ πρωί καὶ ἀνέστη τοῦ πορευθῆναι καὶ εἶπεν ὁ πατὴρ τῆς νεάνιδος πρὸς τὸν νυμφίον αὐτοῦ στήρισόν σου τὴν καρδίαν ψωμῷ ἄρτου καὶ μετὰ τοῦτο πορεύσεσθε(lxx) Jdg 19:5 Then it came to pass on the fourth day that they arose early in the morning, and he stood to depart; but the young woman's father said to his son-in-law, "Refresh your heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way."(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:6 ============ Jdg 19:6 So both of them sat down and ate and drank together; and the girl's father said to the man, "Please be willing to spend the night, and let your heart be merry."(nasb) Jdg 19:6 Sederuntque simul, ac comederunt et biberunt. Dixitque pater puellæ ad generum suum: Quæso te ut hodie hic maneas, pariterque lætemur.(vulgate) Jueces 19:6 Y se sentaron ellos dos juntos, y comieron y bebieron. Y el padre de la joven dijo al varón: Yo te ruego que te quieras quedar aquí esta noche, y se alegrará tu corazón.(E) Juges 19:6 Et ils s'assirent, et ils mangèrent et burent eux deux ensemble. Puis le père de la jeune femme dit au mari: Décide-toi donc à passer la nuit, et que ton coeur se réjouisse.(F) Jdg 19:6 Und sie setzten sich und aßen beide miteinander und tranken. Da sprach der Dirne Vater zu dem Mann: Bleib doch über Nacht und laß dein Herz guter Dinge sein.(D) Jdg 19:6 καὶ ἐκάθισεν καὶ ἔφαγον οἱ δύο ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ καὶ ἔπιον καὶ εἶπεν ὁ πατὴρ τῆς νεάνιδος πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα ἄγε δὴ αὐλίσθητι καὶ ἀγαθυνθήσεται ἡ καρδία σου(lxx) Jdg 19:6 So they sat down, and the two of them ate and drank together. Then the young woman's father said to the man, "Please be content to stay all night, and let your heart be merry."(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:7 ============ Jdg 19:7 Then the man arose to go, but his father-in-law urged him so that he spent the night there again.(nasb) Jdg 19:7 At ille consurgens, cœpit velle proficisci. Et nihilominus obnixe eum socer tenuit, et apud se fecit manere.(vulgate) Jueces 19:7 Y levantándose el varón para irse, el suegro le constriñó a que tornase y pasase allí la noche.(E) Juges 19:7 Le mari se levait pour s'en aller; mais, sur les instances de son beau-père, il passa encore la nuit.(F) Jdg 19:7 Da aber der Mann aufstand und wollte ziehen, nötigte ihn sein Schwiegervater, daß er über Nacht dablieb.(D) Jdg 19:7 καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ τοῦ πορεύεσθαι καὶ ἐβιάσατο αὐτὸν ὁ γαμβρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκάθισεν καὶ ηὐλίσθη ἐκεῖ(lxx) Jdg 19:7 And when the man stood to depart, his father-in-law urged him; so he lodged there again.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:8 ============ Jdg 19:8 On the fifth day he arose to go early in the morning, and the girl's father said, "Please sustain yourself, and wait until afternoon"; so both of them ate.(nasb) Jdg 19:8 Mane autem facto, parabat Levites iter. Cui socer rursum: Oro te, inquit, ut paululum cibi capias, et assumptis viribus donec increscat dies, postea proficiscaris. Comederunt ergo simul.(vulgate) Jueces 19:8 Y al quinto día levantándose de mañana para irse, le dijo el padre de la joven: Te ruego que confortes ahora tu corazón. Y se detuvieron hasta que ya declinaba el día, y comieron ambos juntos.(E) Juges 19:8 Le cinquième jour, il se leva de bon matin pour partir. Alors le père de la jeune femme dit: Fortifie ton coeur, je te prie; et restez jusqu'au déclin du jour. Et ils mangèrent eux deux.(F) Jdg 19:8 Des Morgens am fünften Tage machte er sich früh auf und wollte ziehen. Da sprach der Dirne Vater: Labe doch dein Herz und laß uns verziehen, bis sich der Tag neigt. Und aßen also die beiden miteinander.(D) Jdg 19:8 καὶ ὤρθρισεν τὸ πρωὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ πέμπτῃ τοῦ πορευθῆναι καὶ εἶπεν ὁ πατὴρ τῆς νεάνιδος στήρισον δὴ τὴν καρδίαν σου καὶ στράτευσον ἕως κλῖναι τὴν ἡμέραν καὶ ἔφαγον οἱ δύο(lxx) Jdg 19:8 Then he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart, but the young woman's father said, "Please refresh your heart." So they delayed until afternoon; and both of them ate.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:9 ============ Jdg 19:9 When the man arose to go along with his concubine and servant, his father-in-law, the girl's father, said to him, "Behold now, the day has drawn to a close; please spend the night. Lo, the day is coming to an end; spend the night here that your heart may be merry. Then tomorrow you may arise early for your journey so that you may go home."(nasb) Jdg 19:9 Surrexitque adolescens, ut pergeret cum uxore sua et puero. Cui rursum locutus est socer: Considera quod dies ad occasum declivior sit, et propinquat ad vesperum: mane apud me etiam hodie, et duc lætum diem, et cras proficisceris ut vadas in domum tuam.(vulgate) Jueces 19:9 Se levantó luego el varón para irse, él, y su concubina, y su criado. Entonces su suegro, el padre de la joven, le dijo: He aquí el día declina para ponerse el sol, te ruego que pases aquí la noche; he aquí que el día se acaba, duerme aquí, para que se alegre tu corazón; y mañana os levantaréis temprano a vuestro camino, y te irás a tu casa.(E) Juges 19:9 Le mari se levait pour s'en aller, avec sa concubine et son serviteur; mais son beau-père, le père de la jeune femme, lui dit: Voici, le jour baisse, il se fait tard, passez donc la nuit; voici, le jour est sur son déclin, passe ici la nuit, et que ton coeur se réjouisse; demain vous vous lèverez de bon matin pour vous mettre en route, et tu t'en iras à ta tente.(F) Jdg 19:9 Und der Mann machte sich auf und wollte ziehen mit seinem Kebsweib und mit seinem Knechte. Aber sein Schwiegervater, der Dirne Vater, sprach zu ihm: Siehe, der Tag hat sich geneigt, und es will Abend werden; bleib über Nacht. Siehe, hier ist Herberge noch diesen Tag; bleibe hier über Nacht und laß dein Herz guter Dinge sein. Morgen steht ihr früh auf und zieht eures Weges zu deiner Hütte.(D) Jdg 19:9 καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ τοῦ πορευθῆναι αὐτὸς καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ νεανίας αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ γαμβρὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ πατὴρ τῆς νεάνιδος ἰδοὺ δὴ ἠσθένησεν ἡ ἡμέρα εἰς τὴν ἑσπέραν αὐλίσθητι ὧδε καὶ ἀγαθυνθήσεται ἡ καρδία σου καὶ ὀρθριεῖτε αὔριον εἰς ὁδὸν ὑμῶν καὶ πορεύσῃ εἰς τὸ σκήνωμά σου(lxx) Jdg 19:9 And when the man stood to depart--he and his concubine and his servant--his father-in-law, the young woman's father, said to him, "Look, the day is now drawing toward evening; please spend the night. See, the day is coming to an end; lodge here, that your heart may be merry. Tomorrow go your way early, so that you may get home."(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:10 ============ Jdg 19:10 But the man was not willing to spend the night, so he arose and departed and came to a place opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). And there were with him a pair of saddled donkeys; his concubine also was with him.(nasb) Jdg 19:10 Noluit gener acquiescere sermonibus ejus: sed statim perrexit, et venit contra Jebus, quæ altero nomine vocatur Jerusalem, ducens secum duos asinos onustos, et concubinam.~(vulgate) Jueces 19:10 Mas el hombre no quiso pasar allí la noche, sino que se levantó y partió, y llegó hasta enfrente de Jebús, que [es] Jerusalén, con su par de asnos ensillados, y con su concubina.(E) Juges 19:10 Le mari ne voulut point passer la nuit, il se leva et partit. Il arriva jusque devant Jebus, qui est Jérusalem, avec les deux ânes bâtés et avec sa concubine.(F) Jdg 19:10 Aber der Mann wollte nicht über Nacht bleiben, sondern machte sich auf und zog hin und kam bis vor Jebus, das ist Jerusalem, und sein Paar Esel beladen und sein Kebsweib mit ihm.(D) Jdg 19:10 καὶ οὐκ εὐδόκησεν ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐλισθῆναι καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως ἀπέναντι Ιεβους αὕτη ἐστὶν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ζεῦγος ὄνων ἐπισεσαγμένων καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ(lxx) Jdg 19:10 However, the man was not willing to spend that night; so he rose and departed, and came to opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). With him were the two saddled donkeys; his concubine was also with him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:11 ============ Jdg 19:11 When they were near Jebus, the day was almost gone; and the servant said to his master, "Please come, and let us turn aside into this city of the Jebusites and spend the night in it."(nasb) Jdg 19:11 Jamque erant juxta Jebus, et dies mutabatur in noctem: dixitque puer ad dominum suum: Veni, obsecro: declinemus ad urbem Jebusæorum, et maneamus in ea.(vulgate) Jueces 19:11 [Y estando] ya junto a Jebús, el día había declinado mucho; y dijo el criado a su señor: Ven ahora, y vámonos a esta ciudad de los jebuseos, para que pasemos en ella la noche.(E) Juges 19:11 Lorsqu'ils furent près de Jebus, le jour avait beaucoup baissé. Le serviteur dit alors à son maître: Allons, dirigeons-nous vers cette ville des Jébusiens, et nous y passerons la nuit.(F) Jdg 19:11 Da sie nun nahe bei Jebus kamen, sank der Tag sehr dahin. Und der Knecht sprach zu seinem Herrn: Komm doch und laß uns in diese Stadt der Jebusiter einkehren und über Nacht darin bleiben.(D) Jdg 19:11 καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἕως Ιεβους καὶ ἡ ἡμέρα προβεβήκει σφόδρα καὶ εἶπεν ὁ νεανίας πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ δεῦρο δὴ καὶ ἐκκλίνωμεν εἰς πόλιν τοῦ Ιεβουσι ταύτην καὶ αὐλισθῶμεν ἐν αὐτῇ(lxx) Jdg 19:11 They were near Jebus, and the day was far spent; and the servant said to his master, "Come, please, and let us turn aside into this city of the Jebusites and lodge in it."(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:12 ============ Jdg 19:12 However, his master said to him, "We will not turn aside into the city of foreigners who are not of the sons of Israel; but we will go on as far as Gibeah."(nasb) Jdg 19:12 Cui respondit dominus: Non ingrediar oppidum gentis alienæ, quæ non est de filiis Israël: sed transibo usque Gabaa,(vulgate) Jueces 19:12 Y su señor le respondió: No iremos a ninguna ciudad de extranjeros, que no [sea] de los hijos de Israel; antes pasaremos hasta Gabaa. Y dijo a su criado:(E) Juges 19:12 Son maître lui répondit: Nous n'entrerons pas dans une ville d'étrangers, où il n'y a point d'enfants d'Israël, nous irons jusqu'à Guibea.(F) Jdg 19:12 Aber sein Herr sprach zu ihm: Wir wollen nicht in der Fremden Stadt einkehren, die nicht sind von den Kindern Israel, sondern wollen hinüber gen Gibea.(D) Jdg 19:12 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐκκλινοῦμεν εἰς πόλιν ἀλλοτρίαν ἐν ᾗ οὐκ ἔστιν ἀπὸ υἱῶν Ισραηλ ὧδε καὶ παρελευσόμεθα ἕως Γαβαα(lxx) Jdg 19:12 But his master said to him, "We will not turn aside here into a city of foreigners, who are not of the children of Israel; we will go on to Gibeah."(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:13 ============ Jdg 19:13 He said to his servant, "Come and let us approach one of these places; and we will spend the night in Gibeah or Ramah."(nasb) Jdg 19:13 et cum illuc pervenero, manebimus in ea, aut certe in urbe Rama.(vulgate) Jueces 19:13 Ven, lleguemos a uno de esos lugares, para pasar la noche en Gabaa, o en Ramá.(E) Juges 19:13 Il dit encore à son serviteur: Allons, approchons-nous de l'un de ces lieux, Guibea ou Rama, et nous y passerons la nuit.(F) Jdg 19:13 Und sprach zu seinem Knecht: Gehe weiter, daß wir hinzukommen an einen Ort und über Nacht zu Gibea oder zu Rama bleiben.(D) Jdg 19:13 καὶ εἶπεν τῷ νεανίᾳ αὐτοῦ δεῦρο καὶ ἐγγίσωμεν ἑνὶ τῶν τόπων καὶ αὐλισθησόμεθα ἐν Γαβαα ἢ ἐν Ραμα(lxx) Jdg 19:13 So he said to his servant, "Come, let us draw near to one of these places, and spend the night in Gibeah or in Ramah."(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:14 ============ Jdg 19:14 So they passed along and went their way, and the sun set on them near Gibeah which belongs to Benjamin.(nasb) Jdg 19:14 Transierunt ergo Jebus, et cœptum carpebant iter, occubuitque eis sol juxta Gabaa, quæ est in tribu Benjamin:(vulgate) Jueces 19:14 Pasando pues, caminaron, y se les puso el sol junto a Gabaa, que [pertenece] a Benjamín.(E) Juges 19:14 Ils continuèrent à marcher, et le soleil se coucha quand ils furent près de Guibea, qui appartient à Benjamin.(F) Jdg 19:14 Und sie zogen weiter und wandelten, und die Sonne ging ihnen unter, hart bei Gibea, das liegt in Benjamin.(D) Jdg 19:14 καὶ παρῆλθον καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἔδυ ὁ ἥλιος αὐτοῖς ἐχόμενα τῆς Γαβαα ἥ ἐστιν τῷ Βενιαμιν(lxx) Jdg 19:14 And they passed by and went their way; and the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:15 ============ Jdg 19:15 They turned aside there in order to enter and lodge in Gibeah. When they entered, they sat down in the open square of the city, for no one took them into his house to spend the night.(nasb) Jdg 19:15 diverteruntque ad eam, ut manerent ibi. Quo cum intrassent, sedebant in platea civitatis, et nullus eos recipere voluit hospitio.(vulgate) Jueces 19:15 Y se apartaron del camino para entrar a pasar allí la noche en Gabaa; y entrando, se sentaron en la plaza de la ciudad, porque no [hubo] quien los recibiese en casa para pasar la noche.(E) Juges 19:15 Ils se dirigèrent de ce côté pour aller passer la nuit à Guibea. Le Lévite entra, et il s'arrêta sur la place de la ville. Il n'y eut personne qui les reçût dans sa maison pour qu'ils y passassent la nuit.(F) Jdg 19:15 Und sie kehrten daselbst ein, daß sie hineinkämen und über Nacht zu Gibea blieben. And when he went in, he sat down in the open square of the city, for no one would take them into his house to spend the night.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:16 ============ Jdg 19:16 Then behold, an old man was coming out of the field from his work at evening. Et le vieillard lui dit: Où vas-tu, et d'où viens-tu?(F) Jdg 19:17 Und da er seine Augen aufhob und sah den Gast auf der Gasse, sprach er zu ihm: Wo willst du hin? und wo kommst du her?(D) Jdg 19:17 καὶ ἦρεν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶδεν τὸν ὁδοιπόρον ἄνδρα ἐν τῇ πλατείᾳ τῆς πόλεως καὶ εἶπεν ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ πρεσβύτης ποῦ πορεύῃ καὶ πόθεν ἔρχῃ(lxx) Jdg 19:17 And when he raised his eyes, he saw the traveler in the open square of the city; and the old man said, "Where are you going, and where do you come from?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:18 ============ Jdg 19:18 He said to him, "We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, for I am from there, and I went to Bethlehem in Judah. But I am now going to my house, and no man will take me into his house.(nasb) Jdg 19:18 Qui respondit ei: Profecti sumus de Bethlehem Juda, et pergimus ad locum nostrum, qui est in latere montis Ephraim, unde ieramus in Bethlehem: et nunc vadimus ad domum Dei, nullusque sub tectum suum nos vult recipere,(vulgate) Jueces 19:18 Y él respondió: Pasamos de Belén de Judá a los lados del monte de Efraín, de donde yo soy; y partí hasta Belén de Judá; mas [ahora] voy a la casa de Jehová, y no hay quien me reciba en casa,(E) Juges 19:18 Il lui répondit: Nous allons de Bethléhem de Juda jusqu'à l'extrémité de la montagne d'Ephraïm, d'où je suis. And they washed their feet, and ate and drank.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:22 ============ Jdg 19:22 While they were celebrating, behold, the men of the city, certain worthless fellows, surrounded the house, pounding the door; and they spoke to the owner of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came into your house that we may have relations with him."(nasb) Jdg 19:22 Illis epulantibus, et post laborem itineris cibo et potu reficientibus corpora, venerunt viri civitatis illius, filii Belial (id est, absque jugo), et circumdantes domum senis, fores pulsare cœperunt, clamantes ad dominum domus atque dicentes: Educ virum, qui ingressus est domum tuam, ut abutamur eo.(vulgate) Jueces 19:22 Y cuando estaban gozosos, he aquí, que los hombres de aquella ciudad, hombres hijos de Belial, rodearon la casa, golpeando las puertas, y diciendo al hombre viejo dueño de la casa: Saca al hombre que ha entrado en tu casa, para que lo conozcamos.(E) Juges 19:22 Pendant qu'ils étaient à se réjouir, voici, les hommes de la ville, gens pervers, entourèrent la maison, frappèrent à la porte, et dirent au vieillard, maître de la maison: Fais sortir l'homme qui est entré chez toi, pour que nous le connaissions.(F) Jdg 19:22 Und da ihr Herz nun guter Dinge war, siehe, da kamen die Leute der Stadt, böse Buben, und umgaben das Haus und pochten an die Tür und sprachen zu dem alten Mann, dem Hauswirt: Bringe den Mann heraus, der in dein Haus gekommen ist, daß wir ihn erkennen.(D) Jdg 19:22 αὐτοὶ δ᾽ ἀγαθύνοντες καρδίαν αὐτῶν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες τῆς πόλεως υἱοὶ παρανόμων ἐκύκλωσαν τὴν οἰκίαν κρούοντες ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν καὶ εἶπον πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν κύριον τοῦ οἴκου τὸν πρεσβύτην λέγοντες ἐξένεγκε τὸν ἄνδρα ὃς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν σου ἵνα γνῶμεν αὐτόν(lxx) Jdg 19:22 As they were enjoying themselves, suddenly certain men of the city, perverted men, surrounded the house and beat on the door. They spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came to your house, that we may know him carnally!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:23 ============ Jdg 19:23 Then the man, the owner of the house, went out to them and said to them, "No, my fellows, please do not act so wickedly; since this man has come into my house, do not commit this act of folly.(nasb) Jdg 19:23 Egressusque est ad eos senex, et ait: Nolite, fratres, nolite facere malum hoc, quia ingressus est homo hospitium meum: et cessate ab hac stultitia.(vulgate) Jueces 19:23 Y saliendo a ellos aquel varón, amo de la casa, les dijo: No, hermanos míos, os ruego que no cometáis este mal, pues que este hombre ha entrado en mi casa, no hagáis esta maldad.(E) Juges 19:23 Le maître de la maison, se présentant à eux, leur dit: Non, mes frères, ne faites pas le mal, je vous prie; puisque cet homme est entré dans ma maison, ne commettez pas cette infamie.(F) Jdg 19:23 Aber der Mann, der Hauswirt, ging zu ihnen heraus und sprach zu ihnen: Nicht, meine Brüder, tut nicht so übel; nachdem dieser Mann in mein Haus gekommen ist, tut nicht eine solche Torheit!(D) Jdg 19:23 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ κύριος τοῦ οἴκου καὶ εἶπεν μή ἀδελφοί μὴ κακοποιήσητε δή μετὰ τὸ εἰσελθεῖν τὸν ἄνδρα τοῦτον εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν μου μὴ ποιήσητε τὴν ἀφροσύνην ταύτην(lxx) Jdg 19:23 But the man, the master of the house, went out to them and said to them, "No, my brethren! I beg you, do not act so wickedly! Seeing this man has come into my house, do not commit this outrage.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:24 ============ Jdg 19:24 Here is my virgin daughter and his concubine. Please let me bring them out that you may ravish them and do to them whatever you wish. But do not commit such an act of folly against this man."(nasb) Jdg 19:24 Habeo filiam virginem, et hic homo habet concubinam: educam eas ad vos, ut humilietis eas, et vestram libidinem compleatis: tantum, obsecro, ne scelus hoc contra naturam operemini in virum.(vulgate) Jueces 19:24 He aquí mi hija virgen, y la concubina de él; yo os las sacaré ahora; humilladlas, y haced con ellas como os pareciere, y no hagáis a este hombre cosa tan infame.(E) Juges 19:24 Voici, j'ai une fille vierge, et cet homme a une concubine; je vous les amènerai dehors; vous les déshonorerez, et vous leur ferez ce qu'il vous plaira. Die mögt ihr zu Schanden machen, und tut mit ihr, was euch gefällt; aber an diesen Mann tut nicht solche Torheit.(D) Jdg 19:24 ἰδὲ ἡ θυγάτηρ μου ἡ παρθένος καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτοῦ ἐξάξω αὐτάς καὶ ταπεινώσατε αὐτὰς καὶ ποιήσατε αὐταῖς τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ὑμῶν καὶ τῷ ἀνδρὶ τούτῳ οὐ ποιήσετε τὸ ῥῆμα τῆς ἀφροσύνης ταύτης(lxx) Jdg 19:24 Look, here is my virgin daughter and the man's concubine; let me bring them out now. Humble them, and do with them as you please; but to this man do not do such a vile thing!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:25 ============ Jdg 19:25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man seized his concubine and brought her out to them; and they raped her and abused her all night until morning, then let her go at the approach of dawn.(nasb) Jdg 19:25 Nolebant acquiescere sermonibus illius: quod cernens homo, eduxit ad eos concubinam suam, et eis tradidit illudendam: qua cum tota nocte abusi essent, dimiserunt eam mane.(vulgate) Jueces 19:25 Mas aquellos hombres no le quisieron oír; por lo que aquel hombre tomó a su concubina y la trajo a ellos; y ellos la conocieron, y abusaron de ella toda la noche hasta la mañana, y la dejaron cuando apuntaba el alba.(E) Juges 19:25 Ces gens ne voulurent point l'écouter. Die erkannten sie und trieben ihren Mutwillen an ihr die ganze Nacht bis an den Morgen; und da die Morgenröte anbrach, ließen sie sie gehen.(D) Jdg 19:25 καὶ οὐκ εὐδόκησαν οἱ ἄνδρες τοῦ εἰσακοῦσαι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπελάβετο ὁ ἀνὴρ τῆς παλλακῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξήγαγεν αὐτὴν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἔξω καὶ ἔγνωσαν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐνέπαιζον ἐν αὐτῇ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ἕως πρωί καὶ ἐξαπέστειλαν αὐτήν ὡς ἀνέβη τὸ πρωί(lxx) Jdg 19:25 But the men would not heed him. So the man took his concubine and brought her out to them. And they knew her and abused her all night until morning; and when the day began to break, they let her go.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:26 ============ Jdg 19:26 As the day began to dawn, the woman came and fell down at the doorway of the man's house where her master was, until full daylight.(nasb) Jdg 19:26 At mulier, recedentibus tenebris, venit ad ostium domus, ubi manebat dominus suus, et ibi corruit.(vulgate) Jueces 19:26 Y cuando ya amanecía, vino la mujer y cayó delante de la puerta de la casa de aquel hombre donde su señor estaba, hasta [que se hizo] de día.(E) Juges 19:26 Vers le matin, cette femme alla tomber à l'entrée de la maison de l'homme chez qui était son mari, et elle resta là jusqu'au jour.(F) Jdg 19:26 Da kam das Weib hart vor morgens und fiel nieder vor der Tür am Hause des Mannes, darin ihr Herr war, und lag da, bis es licht ward.(D) Jdg 19:26 καὶ ἦλθεν ἡ γυνὴ πρὸς τὸν ὄρθρον καὶ ἔπεσεν παρὰ τὴν θύραν τοῦ οἴκου οὗ ἦν αὐτῆς ἐκεῖ ὁ ἀνήρ ἕως τοῦ διαφῶσαι(lxx) Jdg 19:26 Then the woman came as the day was dawning, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her master was, till it was light.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:27 ============ Jdg 19:27 When her master arose in the morning and opened the doors of the house and went out to go on his way, then behold, his concubine was lying at the doorway of the house with her hands on the threshold.(nasb) Jdg 19:27 Mane facto, surrexit homo, et aperuit ostium, ut cœptam expleret viam: et ecce concubina ejus jacebat ante ostium sparsis in limine manibus.(vulgate) Jueces 19:27 Y levantándose de mañana su señor, abrió las puertas de la casa y salió para seguir su camino, y he aquí, la mujer su concubina estaba tendida delante de la puerta de la casa, con las manos sobre el umbral.(E) Juges 19:27 Et le matin, son mari se leva, ouvrit la porte de la maison, et sortit pour continuer son chemin. Mais voici, la femme, sa concubine, était étendue à l'entrée de la maison, les mains sur le seuil.(F) Jdg 19:27 Da nun ihr Herr des Morgens aufstand und die Tür auftat am Hause und herausging, daß er seines Weges zöge, siehe, da lag sein Kebsweib vor der Tür des Hauses und ihre Hände auf der Schwelle.(D) Jdg 19:27 καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς τὸ πρωὶ καὶ ἤνοιξεν τὰς θύρας τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ἐξῆλθεν τοῦ πορευθῆναι τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ γυνὴ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτοῦ πεπτωκυῖα παρὰ τὰς θύρας τοῦ οἴκου καὶ αἱ χεῖρες αὐτῆς ἐπὶ τὸ πρόθυρον(lxx) Jdg 19:27 When her master arose in the morning, and opened the doors of the house and went out to go his way, there was his concubine, fallen at the door of the house with her hands on the threshold.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:28 ============ Jdg 19:28 He said to her, "Get up and let us go," but there was no answer. Then he placed her on the donkey; and the man arose and went to his home.(nasb) Jdg 19:28 Cui ille, putans eam quiescere, loquebatur: Surge, et ambulemus. Qua nihil respondente, intelligens quod erat mortua, tulit eam, et imposuit asino, reversusque est in domum suam.(vulgate) Jueces 19:28 Y él le dijo: Levántate, y vámonos. Pero ella no respondió. But there was no answer. So the man lifted her onto the donkey; and the man got up and went to his place.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:29 ============ Jdg 19:29 When he entered his house, he took a knife and laid hold of his concubine and cut her in twelve pieces, limb by limb, and sent her throughout the territory of Israel.(nasb) Jdg 19:29 Quam cum esset ingressus, arripuit gladium, et cadaver uxoris cum ossibus suis in duodecim partes ac frustra concidens, misit in omnes terminos Israël.(vulgate) Jueces 19:29 Y llegando a su casa, tomó un cuchillo, y echó mano de su concubina, y la partió por sus huesos en doce pedazos, y los envió por todos los términos de Israel.(E) Juges 19:29 Arrivé chez lui, il prit un couteau, saisit sa concubine, et la coupa membre par membre en douze morceaux, qu'il envoya dans tout le territoire d'Israël.(F) Jdg 19:29 Als er nun heimkam, nahm er ein Messer und faßte sein Kebsweib und zerstückte sie mit Gebein und mit allem in zwölf Stücke und sandte sie in alle Grenzen Israels.(D) Jdg 19:29 καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν ῥομφαίαν καὶ ἐκράτησεν τὴν παλλακὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐμέλισεν αὐτὴν εἰς δώδεκα μέλη καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὰ ἐν παντὶ ὁρίῳ Ισραηλ(lxx) Jdg 19:29 When he entered his house he took a knife, laid hold of his concubine, and divided her into twelve pieces, limb by limb, and sent her throughout all the territory of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 19:30 ============ Jdg 19:30 All who saw it said, "Nothing like this has ever happened or been seen from the day when the sons of Israel came up from the land of Egypt to this day.
