(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:4 ============ Neh 13:4 And before this, Eliashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto Tobiah:(KJV) Nehemiah 13:4 And before this had the Priest Eliashib the ouersight of the chamber of the house of our God, being kinsman to Tobiah:(Geneva) Néhémie 13:4 Avant cela, le sacrificateur Eliaschib, établi dans les chambres de la maison de notre Dieu, et parent de Tobija,(FR) 4 ׃13 וְלִפְנֵ֣י מִזֶּ֔ה אֶלְיָשִׁיב֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן נָת֖וּן בְּלִשְׁכַּ֣ת בֵּית־אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ קָר֖וֹב לְטוֹבִיָּֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:4 Now prior to this, Eliashib the priest, who was appointed over the chambers of the house of our God, being related to Tobiah,(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:5 ============ Neh 13:5 And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:5 And he had made him a great chamber and there had they aforetime layde the offringes, the incense, and the vessels, and the tithes of corne, of wine, and of oyle (appointed for the Leuites, and the singers, and the porters) and the offringes of the Priests.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:5 avait disposé pour lui une grande chambre où l'on mettait auparavant les offrandes, l'encens, les ustensiles, la dîme du blé, du moût et de l'huile, ce qui était ordonné pour les Lévites, les chantres et les portiers, et ce qui était prélevé pour les sacrificateurs.(FR) 5 ׃13 וַיַּ֨עַשׂ ל֜וֹ לִשְׁכָּ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֗ה וְשָׁ֣ם הָי֪וּ לְפָנִ֟ים נֹ֠תְנִים אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֨ה הַלְּבוֹנָ֜ה וְהַכֵּלִ֗ים וּמַעְשַׂ֤ר הַדָּגָן֙ הַתִּיר֣וֹשׁ וְהַיִּצְהָ֔ר מִצְוַת֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֖ים וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִ֑ים וּתְרוּמַ֖ת הַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:5 had prepared a large room for him, where formerly they put the grain offerings, the frankincense, the utensils and the tithes of grain, wine and oil prescribed for the Levites, the singers and the gatekeepers, and the contributions for the priests.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:6 ============ Neh 13:6 But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king:(KJV) Nehemiah 13:6 But in all this time was not I in Ierusalem: for in the two and thirtieth yere of Artahshashte King of Babel, came I vnto the King, and after certaine dayes I obteined of the King.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:6 Je n'étais point à Jérusalem quand tout cela eut lieu, car j'étais retourné auprès du roi la trente-deuxième année d'Artaxerxès, roi de Babylone. After some time, however, I asked leave from the king,(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:7 ============ Neh 13:7 And I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:7 And when I was come to Ierusalem, I vnderstood the euil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in that hee had made him a chamber in the court of the house of God,(Geneva) Néhémie 13:7 de revenir à Jérusalem, et je m'aperçus du mal qu'avait fait Eliaschib, en disposant une chambre pour Tobija dans les parvis de la maison de Dieu.(FR) 7 ׃13 וָאָב֖וֹא לִֽירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וָאָבִ֣ינָה בָרָעָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֤ה אֶלְיָשִׁיב֙ לְט֣וֹבִיָּ֔ה לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לוֹ֙ נִשְׁכָּ֔ה בְּחַצְרֵ֖י בֵּ֥ית הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:7 and I came to Jerusalem and learned about the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, by preparing a room for him in the courts of the house of God.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:8 ============ Neh 13:8 And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff to Tobiah out of the chamber.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:8 And it grieued me sore: therefore I cast forth all the vessels of the house of Tobiah out of the chamber.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:8 J'en éprouvai un vif déplaisir, et je jetai hors de la chambre tous les objets qui appartenaient à Tobija;(FR) 8 ׃13 וַיֵּ֥רַֽע לִ֖י מְאֹ֑ד וֽ͏ָאַשְׁלִ֜יכָה אֶֽת־כָּל־כְּלֵ֧י בֵית־טוֹבִיָּ֛ה הַח֖וּץ מִן־הַלִּשְׁכָּֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:8 It was very displeasing to me, so I threw all of Tobiah's household goods out of the room.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:9 ============ Neh 13:9 Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:9 And I commanded them to clense ye chambers: and thither brought I againe the vessels of the house of God with the meate offring and the incense.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:9 j'ordonnai qu'on purifiât les chambres, et j'y replaçai les ustensiles de la maison de Dieu, les offrandes et l'encens.(FR) 9 ׃13 וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה וַֽיְטַהֲר֖וּ הַלְּשָׁכ֑וֹת וָאָשִׁ֣יבָה שָּׁ֗ם כְּלֵי֙ בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֖ה וְהַלְּבוֹנָֽה׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 13:9 Then I gave an order and they cleansed the rooms; and I returned there the utensils of the house of God with the grain offerings and the frankincense. (nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:10 ============ Neh 13:10 And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:10 And I perceiued that the portions of the Leuites had not bene giuen, and that euery one was fled to his lande, euen the Leuites and singers that executed the worke.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:10 J'appris aussi que les portions des Lévites n'avaient point été livrées, et que les Lévites et les chantres chargés du service s'étaient enfuis chacun dans son territoire.(FR) 10 ׃13 וָאֵ֣דְעָ֔ה כִּֽי־מְנָי֥וֹת הַלְוִיִּ֖ם לֹ֣א נִתָּ֑נָה וַיִּבְרְח֧וּ אִישׁ־לְשָׂדֵ֛הוּ הַלְוִיִּ֥ם וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֖ים עֹשֵׂ֥י הַמְּלָאכָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:10 I also discovered that the portions of the Levites had not been given them, so that the Levites and the singers who performed the service had gone away, each to his own field.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:11 ============ Neh 13:11 Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:11 Then reproued I the rulers and sayd, Why is the house of God forsaken? Et je rassemblai les Lévites et les chantres, et je les remis à leur poste.(FR) 11 ׃13 וָאָרִ֙יבָה֙ אֶת־הַסְּגָנִ֔ים וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה מַדּ֖וּעַ נֶעֱזַ֣ב בֵּית־הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וָֽאֶ֨קְבְּצֵ֔ם וָֽאַעֲמִדֵ֖ם עַל־עָמְדָֽם׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:11 So I reprimanded the officials and said, "Why is the house of God forsaken?" (nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:15 ============ Neh 13:15 In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:15 In those dayes saw I in Iudah them, that trode wine presses on ye Sabbath, & that brought in sheaues, and which laded asses also with wine, grapes, and figges, and all burdens, and brought them into Ierusalem vpon the Sabbath day: and I protested to them in the day that they sold vitailes.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:15 A cette époque, je vis en Juda des hommes fouler au pressoir pendant le sabbat, rentrer des gerbes, charger sur des ânes même du vin, des raisins et des figues, et toutes sortes de choses, et les amener à Jérusalem le jour du sabbat; et je leur donnai des avertissements le jour où ils vendaient leurs denrées.(FR) 15 ׃13 בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֡מָּה רָאִ֣יתִי בִֽיהוּדָ֣ה ׀ דֹּֽרְכִֽים־גִּתּ֣וֹת ׀ בַּשַּׁבָּ֡ת וּמְבִיאִ֣ים הָעֲרֵמ֣וֹת וְֽעֹמְסִ֪ים עַל־הַחֲמֹרִ֟ים וְאַף־יַ֜יִן עֲנָבִ֤ים וּתְאֵנִים֙ וְכָל־מַשָּׂ֔א וּמְבִיאִ֥ים יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בְּי֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת וָאָעִ֕יד בְּי֖וֹם מִכְרָ֥ם צָֽיִד׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:15 In those days I saw in Judah some who were treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sacks of grain and loading them on donkeys, as well as wine, grapes, figs and all kinds of loads, and they brought them into Jerusalem on the sabbath day. So I admonished them on the day they sold food.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:16 ============ Neh 13:16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:16 There dwelt men of Tyrus also therein, which brought fish and all wares, and solde on the Sabbath vnto the children of Iudah euen in Ierusalem.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:16 Il y avait aussi des Tyriens, établis à Jérusalem, qui apportaient du poisson et toutes sortes de marchandises, et qui les vendaient aux fils de Juda le jour du sabbat et dans Jérusalem.(FR) 16 ׃13 וְהַצֹּרִים֙ יָ֣שְׁבוּ בָ֔הּ מְבִיאִ֥ים דָּ֖אג וְכָל־מֶ֑כֶר וּמֹכְרִ֧ים בַּשַּׁבָּ֛ת לִבְנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה וּבִירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:16 Also men of Tyre were living there who imported fish and all kinds of merchandise, and sold them to the sons of Judah on the sabbath, even in Jerusalem.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:17 ============ Neh 13:17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?(KJV) Nehemiah 13:17 Then reprooued I the rulers of Iudah, and sayd vnto them, What euil thing is this that yee doe, and breake the Sabbath day?(Geneva) Néhémie 13:17 Je fis des réprimandes aux grands de Juda, et je leur dis: Que signifie cette mauvaise action que vous faites, en profanant le jour du sabbat?(FR) 17 ׃13 וָאָרִ֕יבָה אֵ֖ת חֹרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה וָאֹמְרָ֣ה לָהֶ֗ם מָֽה־הַדָּבָ֨ר הָרָ֤ע הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתֶּ֣ם עֹשִׂ֔ים וּֽמְחַלְּלִ֖ים אֶת־י֥וֹם הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:17 Then I reprimanded the nobles of Judah and said to them, "What is this evil thing you are doing, by profaning the sabbath day?(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:18 ============ Neh 13:18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:18 Did not your fathers thus, and our God brought all this plague vpon vs, and vpon this citie? yet yee increase the wrath vpon Israel, in breaking the Sabbath.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:18 N'est-ce pas ainsi qu'ont agi vos pères, et n'est-ce pas à cause de cela que notre Dieu a fait venir tous ces malheurs sur nous et sur cette ville? Et vous, vous attirez de nouveau sa colère contre Israël, en profanant le sabbat!(FR) 18 ׃13 הֲל֨וֹא כֹ֤ה עָשׂוּ֙ אֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם וַיָּבֵ֨א אֱלֹהֵ֜ינוּ עָלֵ֗ינוּ אֵ֚ת כָּל־הָרָעָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את וְעַ֖ל הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וְאַתֶּ֞ם מוֹסִיפִ֤ים חָרוֹן֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְחַלֵּ֖ל אֶת־הַשַּׁבָּֽת׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 13:18 Did not your fathers do the same, so that our God brought on us and on this city all this trouble? Yet you are adding to the wrath on Israel by profaning the sabbath."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 13:19 ============ Neh 13:19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.(KJV) Nehemiah 13:19 And when the gates of Ierusalem beganne to be darke before the Sabbath, I commaded to shut the gates, and charged, that they should not be opened til after the Sabbath, and some of my seruants set I at the gates, that there shoulde no burden be brought in on the Sabbath day.(Geneva) Néhémie 13:19 Puis j'ordonnai qu'on fermât les portes de Jérusalem avant le sabbat, dès qu'elles seraient dans l'ombre, et qu'on ne les ouvrît qu'après le sabbat. Et je plaçai quelques-uns de mes serviteurs aux portes, pour empêcher l'entrée des fardeaux le jour du sabbat.(FR) 19 ׃13 וַיְהִ֡י כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צָֽלֲלוּ֩ שַׁעֲרֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם לִפְנֵ֣י הַשַׁבָּ֗ת וָאֹֽמְרָה֙ וַיִּסָּגְר֣וּ הַדְּלָת֔וֹת וָאֹ֣מְרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א יִפְתָּח֔וּם עַ֖ד אַחַ֣ר הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת וּמִנְּעָרַ֗י הֽ͏ֶעֱמַ֙דְתִּי֙ עַל־הַשְּׁעָרִ֔ים לֹא־יָב֥וֹא מַשָּׂ֖א בְּי֥וֹם הַשַבָּֽת׃ Nehemiah Neh 13:19 It came about that just as it grew dark at the gates of Jerusalem before the sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut and that they should not open them until after the sabbath. If you do so again, I will use force against you." For this also remember me, O my God, and have compassion on me according to the greatness of Your lovingkindness.
