My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:(KJV) Isaiah 5:1 Nowe will I sing to my beloued a song of my beloued to his vineyarde, My beloued had a vineyarde in a very fruitefull hill,(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:1 Je chanterai à mon bien-aimé Le cantique de mon bien-aimé sur sa vigne. Mon bien-aimé avait une vigne, Sur un coteau fertile.(FR) 1 ׃5 אָשִׁ֤ירָה נָּא֙ לִֽידִידִ֔י שִׁירַ֥ת דּוֹדִ֖י לְכַרְמ֑וֹ כֶּ֛רֶם הָיָ֥ה לִֽידִידִ֖י בְּקֶ֥רֶן בֶּן־שָֽׁמֶן׃ Isaiah Isa 5:1 Let me sing now for my well-beloved A song of my beloved concerning His vineyard. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:2 ============ Isa 5:2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.(KJV) Isaiah 5:2 And hee hedged it, and gathered out the stones of it, and he planted it with the best plants, and hee builte a towre in the middes thereof, and made a wine presse therein: then hee looked that it should bring foorth grapes: but it brought foorth wilde grapes.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:2 Il en remua le sol, ôta les pierres, et y mit un plant délicieux; Il bâtit une tour au milieu d'elle, Et il y creusa aussi une cuve. Puis il espéra qu'elle produirait de bons raisins, Mais elle en a produit de mauvais.(FR) 2 ׃5 וַֽיְעַזְּקֵ֣הוּ וַֽיְסַקְּלֵ֗הוּ וַיִּטָּעֵ֙הוּ֙ שֹׂרֵ֔ק וַיִּ֤בֶן מִגְדָּל֙ בְּתוֹכ֔וֹ וְגַם־יֶ֖קֶב חָצֵ֣ב בּ֑וֹ וַיְקַ֛ו לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת עֲנָבִ֖ים וַיַּ֥עַשׂ בְּאֻשִֽׁים׃ Isaiah Isa 5:2 He dug it all around, removed its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. And He built a tower in the middle of it And also hewed out a wine vat in it; Then He expected it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:3 ============ Isa 5:3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.(KJV) Isaiah 5:3 Now therefore, O inhabitants of Ierusalem and men of Iudah, iudge, I pray you, betweene me, and my vineyarde.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:3 Maintenant donc, habitants de Jérusalem et hommes de Juda, Soyez juges entre moi et ma vigne!(FR) 3 ׃5 וְעַתָּ֛ה יוֹשֵׁ֥ב יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וְאִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֑ה שִׁפְטוּ־נָ֕א בֵּינִ֖י וּבֵ֥ין כַּרְמִֽי׃ Isaiah Isa 5:3 "And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge between Me and My vineyard. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:4 ============ Isa 5:4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?(KJV) Isaiah 5:4 What coulde I haue done any more to my vineyard that I haue not done vnto it? why haue I looked that it should bring foorth grapes, and it bringeth foorth wilde grapes?(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:4 Qu'y avait-il encore à faire à ma vigne, Que je n'aie pas fait pour elle? Pourquoi, quand j'ai espéré qu'elle produirait de bons raisins, En a-t-elle produit de mauvais?(FR) 4 ׃5 מַה־לַּעֲשׂ֥וֹת עוֹד֙ לְכַרְמִ֔י וְלֹ֥א עָשִׂ֖יתִי בּ֑וֹ מַדּ֧וּעַ קִוֵּ֛יתִי לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת עֲנָבִ֖ים וַיַּ֥עַשׂ בְּאֻשִֽׁים׃ Isaiah Isa 5:4 "What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones? (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:5 ============ Isa 5:5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:(KJV) Isaiah 5:5 And nowe I will tell you what I will do to my vineyarde: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten vp: I will breake the wall thereof, and it shall be troden downe:(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:5 Je vous dirai maintenant Ce que je vais faire à ma vigne. J'en arracherai la haie, pour qu'elle soit broutée; J'en abattrai la clôture, pour qu'elle soit foulée aux pieds.(FR) 5 ׃5 וְעַתָּה֙ אוֹדִֽיעָה־נָּ֣א אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִ֥י עֹשֶׂ֖ה לְכַרְמִ֑י הָסֵ֤ר מְשׂוּכָּתוֹ֙ וְהָיָ֣ה לְבָעֵ֔ר פָּרֹ֥ץ גְּדֵר֖וֹ וְהָיָ֥ה לְמִרְמָֽס׃ Isaiah Isa 5:5 "So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard: I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed; I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:6 ============ Isa 5:6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.(KJV) Isaiah 5:6 And I will laye it waste: it shall not be cut, nor digged, but briers, and thornes shall growe vp: I will also commande the cloudes that they raine no raine vpon it.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:6 Je la réduirai en ruine; elle ne sera plus taillée, ni cultivée; Les ronces et les épines y croîtront; Et je donnerai mes ordres aux nuées, Afin qu'elles ne laissent plus tomber la pluie sur elle.(FR) 6 ׃5 וַאֲשִׁיתֵ֣הוּ בָתָ֗ה לֹ֤א יִזָּמֵר֙ וְלֹ֣א יֵעָדֵ֔ר וְעָלָ֥ה שָׁמִ֖יר וָשָׁ֑יִת וְעַ֤ל הֶעָבִים֙ אֲצַוֶּ֔ה מֵהַמְטִ֥יר עָלָ֖יו מָטָֽר׃ Isaiah Isa 5:6 "I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned or hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also charge the clouds to rain no rain on it."(nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:7 ============ Isa 5:7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.(KJV) Isaiah 5:7 Surely the vineyard of the Lord of hostes is the house of Israel, and the men of Iudah are his pleasant plant, and hee looked for iudgement, but beholde oppression: for righteousnesse, but beholde a crying.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:7 La vigne de l'Eternel des armées, c'est la maison d'Israël, Et les hommes de Juda, c'est le plant qu'il chérissait. Il avait espéré de la droiture, et voici du sang versé! De la justice, et voici des cris de détresse!(FR) 7 ׃5 כִּ֣י כֶ֜רֶם יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה נְטַ֖ע שַׁעֲשׁוּעָ֑יו וַיְקַ֤ו לְמִשְׁפָּט֙ וְהִנֵּ֣ה מִשְׂפָּ֔ח לִצְדָקָ֖ה וְהִנֵּ֥ה צְעָקָֽה׃ ס Isaiah Isa 5:7 For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel And the men of Judah His delightful plant. Thus He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:8 ============ Isa 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!(KJV) Isaiah 5:8 Woe vnto them that ioyne house to house, and laye fielde to fielde, till there bee no place, that ye may be placed by your selues in the mids of the earth.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:8 Malheur à ceux qui ajoutent maison à maison, Et qui joignent champ à champ, Jusqu'à ce qu'il n'y ait plus d'espace, Et qu'ils habitent seuls au milieu du pays!(FR) 8 ׃5 ה֗וֹי מַגִּיעֵ֥י בַ֙יִת֙ בְּבַ֔יִת שָׂדֶ֥ה בְשָׂדֶ֖ה יַקְרִ֑יבוּ עַ֚ד אֶ֣פֶס מָק֔וֹם וְהֽוּשַׁבְתֶּ֥ם לְבַדְּכֶ֖ם בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Isaiah Isa 5:8 Woe to those who add house to house and join field to field, Until there is no more room, So that you have to live alone in the midst of the land! (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:9 ============ Isa 5:9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.(KJV) Isaiah 5:9 This is in mine cares, saith the Lorde of hostes. Surely many houses shall be desolate, euen great, and faire without inhabitant.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:9 Voici ce que m'a révélé l'Eternel des armées: Certainement, ces maisons nombreuses seront dévastées, Ces grandes et belles maisons n'auront plus d'habitants.(FR) 9 ׃5 בְּאָזְנָ֖י יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת אִם־לֹ֞א בָּתִּ֤ים רַבִּים֙ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה יִֽהְי֔וּ גְּדֹלִ֥ים וְטוֹבִ֖ים מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ Isaiah Isa 5:9 In my ears the Lord of hosts has sworn, "Surely, many houses shall become desolate, Even great and fine ones, without occupants. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:10 ============ Isa 5:10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.(KJV) Isaiah 5:10 For ten acres of vines shal yelde one bath, and the seede of an homer shal yelde an ephah.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:10 Même dix arpents de vigne ne produiront qu'un bath, Et un homer de semence ne produira qu'un épha.(FR) 10 ׃5 כִּ֗י עֲשֶׂ֙רֶת֙ צִמְדֵּי־כֶ֔רֶם יַעֲשׂ֖וּ בַּ֣ת אֶחָ֑ת וְזֶ֥רַע חֹ֖מֶר יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֵיפָֽה׃ פ Isaiah Isa 5:10 "For ten acres of vineyard will yield only one bath of wine, And a homer of seed will yield but an ephah of grain."(nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:11 ============ Isa 5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!(KJV) Isaiah 5:11 Wo vnto them, that rise vp early to followe drunkennes, and to them that continue vntill night, till the wine doe inflame them.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:11 Malheur à ceux qui de bon matin Courent après les boissons enivrantes, Et qui bien avant dans la nuit Sont échauffés par le vin!(FR) 11 ׃5 ה֛וֹי מַשְׁכִּימֵ֥י בַבֹּ֖קֶר שֵׁכָ֣ר יִרְדֹּ֑פוּ מְאַחֲרֵ֣י בַנֶּ֔שֶׁף יַ֖יִן יַדְלִיקֵֽם׃ Isaiah Isa 5:11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue strong drink, Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them! (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:12 ============ Isa 5:12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.(KJV) Isaiah 5:12 And the harpe and viole, timbrel, and pipe, and wine are in their feastes: but they regard not the worke of the Lorde, neither consider the worke of his handes.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:12 La harpe et le luth, le tambourin, la flûte et le vin, animent leurs festins; Mais ils ne prennent point garde à l'oeuvre de l'Eternel, Et ils ne voient point le travail de ses mains.(FR) 12 ׃5 וְהָיָ֨ה כִנּ֜וֹר וָנֶ֗בֶל תֹּ֧ף וְחָלִ֛יל וָיַ֖יִן מִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֑ם וְאֵ֨ת פֹּ֤עַל יְהוָה֙ לֹ֣א יַבִּ֔יטוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדָ֖יו לֹ֥א רָאֽוּ׃ Isaiah Isa 5:12 Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine; But they do not pay attention to the deeds of the Lord, Nor do they consider the work of His hands. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:13 ============ Isa 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.(KJV) Isaiah 5:13 Therefore my people is gone into captiuitie, because they had no knowledge, and the glorie thereof are men famished, and the multitude thereof is dried vp with thirst.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:13 C'est pourquoi mon peuple sera soudain emmené captif; Sa noblesse mourra de faim, Et sa multitude sera desséchée par la soif.(FR) 13 ׃5 לָכֵ֛ן גָּלָ֥ה עַמִּ֖י מִבְּלִי־דָ֑עַת וּכְבוֹדוֹ֙ מְתֵ֣י רָעָ֔ב וַהֲמוֹנ֖וֹ צִחֵ֥ה צָמָֽא׃ Isaiah Isa 5:13 Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge; And their honorable men are famished, And their multitude is parched with thirst. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:15 ============ Isa 5:15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:(KJV) Isaiah 5:15 And man shalbe brought downe, and man shalbe humbled, euen the eyes of the proude shalbe humbled.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:15 Les petits seront abattus, les grands seront humiliés, Et les regards des hautains seront abaissés.(FR) 15 ׃5 וַיִּשַּׁ֥ח אָדָ֖ם וַיִּשְׁפַּל־אִ֑ישׁ וְעֵינֵ֥י גְבֹהִ֖ים תִּשְׁפַּֽלְנָה׃ Isaiah Isa 5:15 So the common man will be humbled and the man of importance abased, The eyes of the proud also will be abased. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:16 ============ Isa 5:16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.(KJV) Isaiah 5:16 And the Lorde of hostes shalbe exalted in iudgement, and the holy God shalbe sanctified in iustice.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:16 L'Eternel des armées sera élevé par le jugement, Et le Dieu saint sera sanctifié par la justice.(FR) 16 ׃5 וַיִּגְבַּ֛ה יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט וְהָאֵל֙ הַקָּד֔וֹשׁ נִקְדָּ֖שׁ בִּצְדָקָֽה׃ Isaiah Isa 5:16 But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:17 ============ Isa 5:17 Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.(KJV) Isaiah 5:17 Then shall the lambes feede after their maner, and the strangers shall eate the desolate places of the fat.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:17 Des brebis paîtront comme sur leur pâturage, Et des étrangers dévoreront les possessions ruinées des riches.(FR) 17 ׃5 וְרָע֥וּ כְבָשִׂ֖ים כְּדָבְרָ֑ם וְחָרְב֥וֹת מֵחִ֖ים גָּרִ֥ים יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ Isaiah Isa 5:17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, And strangers will eat in the waste places of the wealthy. (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:18 ============ Isa 5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:(KJV) Isaiah 5:18 Woe vnto them, that draw iniquitie with cordes of vanitie, and sinne, as with cart ropes:(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:18 Malheur à ceux qui tirent l'iniquité avec les cordes du vice, Et le péché comme avec les traits d'un char,(FR) 18 ׃5 ה֛וֹי מֹשְׁכֵ֥י הֶֽעָוֺ֖ן בְּחַבְלֵ֣י הַשָּׁ֑וְא וְכַעֲב֥וֹת הָעֲגָלָ֖ה חַטָּאָֽה׃ Isaiah Isa 5:18 Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes; (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:19 ============ Isa 5:19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!(KJV) Isaiah 5:19 Which say, Let him make speede: let him hasten his worke, that wee may see it: and let the counsell of the holy one of Israel draw neere and come, that we may knowe it.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:19 Et qui disent: Qu'il hâte, qu'il accélère son oeuvre, Afin que nous la voyions! Que le décret du Saint d'Israël arrive et s'exécute, Afin que nous le connaissions!(FR) 19 ׃5 הָאֹמְרִ֗ים יְמַהֵ֧ר ׀ יָחִ֛ישָׁה מַעֲשֵׂ֖הוּ לְמַ֣עַן נִרְאֶ֑ה וְתִקְרַ֣ב וְתָב֗וֹאָה עֲצַ֛ת קְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְנֵדָֽעָה׃ ס Isaiah Isa 5:19 Who say, "Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; And let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near And come to pass, that we may know it!"(nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:20 ============ Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!(KJV) Isaiah 5:20 Woe vnto them that speake good of euill, and euill of good, which put darkenes for light, and light for darkenes, that put bitter for sweete, and sweete for sowre.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:20 Malheur à ceux qui appellent le mal bien, et le bien mal, Qui changent les ténèbres en lumière, et la lumière en ténèbres, Qui changent l'amertume en douceur, et la douceur en amertume!(FR) 20 ׃5 ה֣וֹי הָאֹמְרִ֥ים לָרַ֛ע ט֖וֹב וְלַטּ֣וֹב רָ֑ע שָׂמִ֨ים חֹ֤שֶׁךְ לְאוֹר֙ וְא֣וֹר לְחֹ֔שֶׁךְ שָׂמִ֥ים מַ֛ר לְמָת֖וֹק וּמָת֥וֹק לְמָֽר׃ ס Isaiah Isa 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:21 ============ Isa 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!(KJV) Isaiah 5:21 Woe vnto them that are wise in their owne eyes, and prudent in their owne sight.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:21 Malheur à ceux qui sont sages à leurs yeux, Et qui se croient intelligents!(FR) 21 ׃5 ה֖וֹי חֲכָמִ֣ים בְּעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם וְנֶ֥גֶד פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם נְבֹנִֽים׃ Isaiah Isa 5:21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight! (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:22 ============ Isa 5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:(KJV) Isaiah 5:22 Wo vnto them that are mightie to drinke wine, and to them that are strong to powre in strong drinke:(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:22 Malheur à ceux qui ont de la bravoure pour boire du vin, Et de la vaillance pour mêler des liqueurs fortes;(FR) 22 ׃5 ה֕וֹי גִּבּוֹרִ֖ים לִשְׁתּ֣וֹת יָ֑יִן וְאַנְשֵׁי־חַ֖יִל לִמְסֹ֥ךְ שֵׁכָֽר׃ Isaiah Isa 5:22 Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine And valiant men in mixing strong drink, (nasb) ======= Isaiah 5:23 ============ Isa 5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!(KJV) Isaiah 5:23 Which iustifie the wicked for a rewarde, and take away the righteousnesse of the righteous from him.(Geneva) Ésaïe 5:23 Qui justifient le coupable pour un présent, Et enlèvent aux innocents leurs droits!(FR) 23 ׃5 מַצְדִּיקֵ֥י רָשָׁ֖ע עֵ֣קֶב שֹׁ֑חַד וְצִדְקַ֥ת צַדִּיקִ֖ים יָסִ֥ירוּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ ס Isaiah Isa 5:23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right! If one looks to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress; Even the light is darkened by its clouds.
