(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:5 ============ Jer 37:5 Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of Egypt: and when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:5 Then Pharaohs hoste was come out of Egypt: and when the Caldeans that besieged Ierusalem, heard tidings of them, they departed from Ierusalem)(Geneva) Jérémie 37:5 L'armée de Pharaon était sortie d'Egypte; et les Chaldéens, qui assiégeaient Jérusalem, ayant appris cette nouvelle, s'étaient retirés de Jérusalem.(FR) 5 ׃37 וְחֵ֥יל פַּרְעֹ֖ה יָצָ֣א מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם וַיִּשְׁמְע֨וּ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֜ים הַצָּרִ֤ים עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ אֶת־שִׁמְעָ֔ם וַיֵּ֣עָל֔וּ מֵעַ֖ל יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ פ Jeremiah Jer 37:5 Meanwhile, Pharaoh's army had set out from Egypt; and when the Chaldeans who had been besieging Jerusalem heard the report about them, they lifted the siege from Jerusalem. "Behold, Pharaoh's army which has come out for your assistance is going to return to its own land of Egypt. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:8 ============ Jer 37:8 And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:8 And the Caldeans shall come againe, and fight against this citie, and take it and burne it with fire.(Geneva) Jérémie 37:8 et les Chaldéens reviendront, ils attaqueront cette ville, ils la prendront, et la brûleront par le feu.(FR) 8 ׃37 וְשָׁ֙בוּ֙ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים וְנִלְחֲמ֖וּ עַל־הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וּלְכָדֻ֖הָ וּשְׂרָפֻ֥הָ בָאֵֽשׁ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 37:8 The Chaldeans will also return and fight against this city, and they will capture it and burn it with fire."'(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:9 ============ Jer 37:9 Thus saith the LORD; Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:9 Thus sayth the Lorde, Deceiue not your selues, saying, The Caldeans shall surely depart from vs: for they shal not depart.(Geneva) Jérémie 37:9 Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Ne vous faites pas d'illusion, en disant: Les Chaldéens s'en iront loin de nous! Car ils ne s'en iront pas.(FR) 9 ׃37 כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אַל־תַּשִּׁ֤אוּ נַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הָלֹ֛ךְ יֵלְכ֥וּ מֵעָלֵ֖ינוּ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֑ים כִּי־לֹ֖א יֵלֵֽכוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 37:9 Thus says the Lord, 'Do not deceive yourselves, saying, "The Chaldeans will surely go away from us," for they will not go. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:10 ============ Jer 37:10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:10 For though ye had smitten the whole hoste of the Caldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should euery man rise vp in his tent, and burne this citie with fire.(Geneva) Jérémie 37:10 Et même quand vous battriez toute l'armée des Chaldéens qui vous font la guerre, quand il ne resterait d'eux que des hommes blessés, ils se relèveraient chacun dans sa tente, et brûleraient cette ville par le feu.(FR) 10 ׃37 כִּ֣י אִם־הִכִּיתֶ֞ם כָּל־חֵ֤יל כַּשְׂדִּים֙ הַנִּלְחָמִ֣ים אִתְּכֶ֔ם וְנִ֨שְׁאֲרוּ[t] בָ֔ם אֲנָשִׁ֖ים מְדֻקָּרִ֑ים אִ֤ישׁ בְּאָהֳלוֹ֙ יָק֔וּמוּ וְשָֽׂרְפ֛וּ אֶת־הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּ֖את בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ Jeremiah Jer 37:10 For even if you had defeated the entire army of Chaldeans who were fighting against you, and there were only wounded men left among them, each man in his tent, they would rise up and burn this city with fire.'" (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:11 ============ Jer 37:11 And it came to pass, that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,(KJV) Jeremiah 37:11 When the hoste of the Caldeans was broken vp from Ierusalem, because of Pharaohs armie,(Geneva) Jérémie 37:11 Pendant que l'armée des Chaldéens s'était éloignée de Jérusalem, à cause de l'armée de Pharaon,(FR) 11 ׃37 וְהָיָ֗ה בְּהֵֽעָלוֹת֙ חֵ֣יל הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים מֵעַ֖ל יְרֽוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם מִפְּנֵ֖י חֵ֥יל פַּרְעֹֽה׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 37:11 Now it happened when the army of the Chaldeans had lifted the siege from Jerusalem because of Pharaoh's army, (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:12 ============ Jer 37:12 Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:12 Then Ieremiah went out of Ierusalem to goe into the land of Beniamin, separating himselfe thence from among the people.(Geneva) Jérémie 37:12 Jérémie voulut sortir de Jérusalem, pour aller dans le pays de Benjamin et s'échapper du milieu du peuple.(FR) 12 ׃37 וַיֵּצֵ֤א יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם לָלֶ֖כֶת אֶ֣רֶץ בִּנְיָמִ֑ן לַחֲלִ֥ק מִשָּׁ֖ם בְּת֥וֹךְ הָעָֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 37:12 that Jeremiah went out from Jerusalem to go to the land of Benjamin in order to take possession of some property there among the people. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:13 ============ Jer 37:13 And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:13 And when hee was in the gate of Beniamin, there was a chiefe officer, whose name was Iriiah, the sonne of Shelemiah, the sonne of Hananiah, and he tooke Ieremiah the Prophet, saying, Thou fleest to the Caldeans.(Geneva) Jérémie 37:13 Lorsqu'il fut à la porte de Benjamin, le commandant de la garde, nommé Jireija, fils de Schélémia, fils de Hanania, se trouvait là, et il saisit Jérémie, le prophète, en disant: Tu passes aux Chaldéens!(FR) 13 ׃37 וַיְהִי־ה֞וּא בְּשַׁ֣עַר בִּנְיָמִ֗ן וְשָׁם֙ בַּ֣עַל פְּקִדֻ֔ת וּשְׁמוֹ֙ יִרְאִיָּ֔יה בֶּן־שֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֖ה בֶּן־חֲנַנְיָ֑ה וַיִּתְפֹּ֞שׂ אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָ֤הוּ הַנָּבִיא֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אֶל־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֖ים אַתָּ֥ה נֹפֵֽל׃ Jeremiah Jer 37:13 While he was at the Gate of Benjamin, a captain of the guard whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah the son of Hananiah was there; and he arrested Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "You are going over to the Chaldeans!"(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:14 ============ Jer 37:14 Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:14 Then sayde Ieremiah, That is false, I flee not to the Caldeans: but he would not heare him: so Iriiah tooke Ieremiah, and brought him to the princes.(Geneva) Jérémie 37:14 Jérémie répondit: C'est faux! je ne passe pas aux Chaldéens. I am not going over to the Chaldeans"; yet he would not listen to him. So Irijah arrested Jeremiah and brought him to the officials. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:16 ============ Jer 37:16 When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;(KJV) Jeremiah 37:16 When Ieremiah was entred into the dungeon, and into the prisons, & had remained there a long time,(Geneva) Jérémie 37:16 Ce fut ainsi que Jérémie entra dans la prison et dans les cachots, où il resta longtemps.(FR) 16 ׃37 כִּ֣י בָ֧א יִרְמְיָ֛הוּ אֶל־בֵּ֥ית הַבּ֖וֹר וְאֶל־הַֽחֲנֻ֑יוֹת וַיֵּֽשֶׁב־שָׁ֥ם יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ פ Jeremiah Jer 37:16 For Jeremiah had come into the dungeon, that is, the vaulted cell; and Jeremiah stayed there many days. (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:17 ============ Jer 37:17 Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:17 Then Zedekiah the King sent, and tooke him out, and the King asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any worde from the Lord? Et il ajouta: Tu seras livré entre les mains du roi de Babylone.(FR) 17 ׃37 וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֜הוּ וַיִּקָּחֵ֗הוּ וַיִּשְׁאָלֵ֨הוּ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ בְּבֵיתוֹ֙ בַּסֵּ֔תֶר וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הֲיֵ֥שׁ דָּבָ֖ר מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ יֵ֔שׁ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר בְּיַ֥ד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל תִּנָּתֵֽן׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 37:17 Now King Zedekiah sent and took him out; and in his palace the king secretly asked him and said, "Is there a word from the Lord?" And Jeremiah said, "There is!" (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:19 ============ Jer 37:19 Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?(KJV) Jeremiah 37:19 Where are nowe your prophets, which prophecied vnto you, saying, The King of Babel shall not come against you, nor against this land?(Geneva) Jérémie 37:19 Et où sont vos prophètes qui vous prophétisaient, en disant: Le roi de Babylone ne viendra pas contre vous, ni contre ce pays?(FR) 19 ׃37 *ואיו **וְאַיֵּה֙ נְבִ֣יאֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־נִבְּא֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם לּ[t]ֵאמֹ֑ר לֹֽא־יָבֹ֤א מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל֙ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם וְעַ֖ל הָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּֽאת׃ Jeremiah Jer 37:19 Where then are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, 'The king of Babylon will not come against you or against this land'? (nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:20 ============ Jer 37:20 Therefore hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.(KJV) Jeremiah 37:20 Therefore heare nowe, I pray thee, O my lorde the King: let my prayer be accepted before thee, that thou cause mee not to returne to the house of Iehonathan the scribe, least I die there.(Geneva) Jérémie 37:20 Maintenant, écoute, je te prie, ô roi, mon seigneur, et que mes supplications soient favorablement reçues devant toi! Ne me renvoie pas dans la maison de Jonathan, le secrétaire, de peur que je n'y meure!(FR) 20 ׃37 וְעַתָּ֕ה שְֽׁמַֽע־נָ֖א אֲדֹנִ֣י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ תִּפָּל־נָ֤א תְחִנָּתִי֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ וְאַל־תְּשִׁבֵ֗נִי בֵּ֚ית יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן הַסֹּפֵ֔ר וְלֹ֥א אָמ֖וּת שָֽׁם׃ Jeremiah Jer 37:20 But now, please listen, O my lord the king; please let my petition come before you and do not make me return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, that I may not die there."(nasb) ======= Jeremiah 37:21 ============ Jer 37:21 Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. So Jeremiah remained in the court of the guardhouse.
