Pre-Exilic---- Isa 16:1 ἀποστελῶ ὡς ἑρπετὰ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν μὴ πέτρα ἔρημός ἐστιν τὸ ὄρος Σιων (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:1 Send the tribute lamb to the ruler of the land, From Sela by way of the wilderness to the mountain of the daughter of Zion.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:2---- Isa 16:2 ἔσῃ γὰρ ὡς πετεινοῦ ἀνιπταμένου νεοσσὸς ἀφῃρημένος θύγατερ Μωαβ ἔπειτα δέ Αρνων (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:2 Then, like fleeing birds or scattered nestlings, The daughters of Moab will be at the fords of the Arnon.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:3---- Isa 16:3 πλείονα βουλεύου ποιεῖτε σκέπην πένθους αὐτῇ διὰ παντός ἐν μεσημβρινῇ σκοτίᾳ φεύγουσιν ἐξέστησαν μὴ ἀπαχθῇς (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:3 "Give us advice, make a decision; Cast your shadow like night at high noon; Hide the outcasts, do not betray the fugitive.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:4---- Isa 16:4 παροικήσουσίν σοι οἱ φυγάδες Μωαβ ἔσονται σκέπη ὑμῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου διώκοντος ὅτι ἤρθη ἡ συμμαχία σου καὶ ὁ ἄρχων ἀπώλετο ὁ καταπατῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:4 "Let the outcasts of Moab stay with you; Be a hiding place to them from the destroyer." For the extortioner has come to an end, destruction has ceased, Oppressors have completely disappeared from the land.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:5---- Isa 16:5 καὶ διορθωθήσεται μετ᾽ ἐλέους θρόνος καὶ καθίεται ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ μετὰ ἀληθείας ἐν σκηνῇ Δαυιδ κρίνων καὶ ἐκζητῶν κρίμα καὶ σπεύδων δικαιοσύνην (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:5 A throne will even be established in lovingkindness, And a judge will sit on it in faithfulness in the tent of David; Moreover, he will seek justice And be prompt in righteousness.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:6---- Isa 16:6 ἠκούσαμεν τὴν ὕβριν Μωαβ ὑβριστὴς σφόδρα τὴν ὑπερηφανίαν ἐξῆρας οὐχ οὕτως ἡ μαντεία σου (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:6 We have heard of the pride of Moab, an excessive pride; Even of his arrogance, pride, and fury; His idle boasts are false.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:7---- Isa 16:7 οὐχ οὕτως ὀλολύξει Μωαβ ἐν γὰρ τῇ Μωαβίτιδι πάντες ὀλολύξουσιν τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν Δεσεθ μελετήσεις καὶ οὐκ ἐντραπήσῃ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:7 Therefore Moab will wail; everyone of Moab will wail. You will moan for the raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth As those who are utterly stricken.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:8---- Isa 16:8 τὰ πεδία Εσεβων πενθήσει ἄμπελος Σεβαμα καταπίνοντες τὰ ἔθνη καταπατήσατε τὰς ἀμπέλους αὐτῆς ἕως Ιαζηρ οὐ μὴ συνάψητε πλανήθητε τὴν ἔρημον οἱ ἀπεσταλμένοι ἐγκατελείφθησαν διέβησαν γὰρ τὴν ἔρημον (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:8 For the fields of Heshbon have withered, the vines of Sibmah as well; The lords of the nations have trampled down its choice clusters Which reached as far as Jazer and wandered to the deserts; Its tendrils spread themselves out and passed over the sea.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:9---- Isa 16:9 διὰ τοῦτο κλαύσομαι ὡς τὸν κλαυθμὸν Ιαζηρ ἄμπελον Σεβαμα τὰ δένδρα σου κατέβαλεν Εσεβων καὶ Ελεαλη ὅτι ἐπὶ τῷ θερισμῷ καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ τρυγήτῳ σου καταπατήσω καὶ πάντα πεσοῦνται (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:9 Therefore I will weep bitterly for Jazer, for the vine of Sibmah; I will drench you with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh; For the shouting over your summer fruits and your harvest has fallen away.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:10---- Isa 16:10 καὶ ἀρθήσεται εὐφροσύνη καὶ ἀγαλλίαμα ἐκ τῶν ἀμπελώνων σου καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἀμπελῶσίν σου οὐ μὴ εὐφρανθήσονται καὶ οὐ μὴ πατήσουσιν οἶνον εἰς τὰ ὑπολήνια πέπαυται γάρ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:10 Gladness and joy are taken away from the fruitful field; In the vineyards also there will be no cries of joy or jubilant shouting, No treader treads out wine in the presses, For I have made the shouting to cease.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:11---- Isa 16:11 διὰ τοῦτο ἡ κοιλία μου ἐπὶ Μωαβ ὡς κιθάρα ἠχήσει καὶ τὰ ἐντός μου ὡσεὶ τεῖχος ὃ ἐνεκαίνισας (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:11 Therefore my heart intones like a harp for Moab And my inward feelings for Kir-hareseth.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:12---- Isa 16:12 καὶ ἔσται εἰς τὸ ἐντραπῆναί σε ὅτι ἐκοπίασεν Μωαβ ἐπὶ τοῖς βωμοῖς καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὰ χειροποίητα αὐτῆς ὥστε προσεύξασθαι καὶ οὐ μὴ δύνηται ἐξελέσθαι αὐτόν (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:12 So it will come about when Moab presents himself, When he wearies himself upon his high place And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:13---- Isa 16:13 τοῦτο τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐπὶ Μωαβ ὁπότε καὶ ἐλάλησεν (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:13 This is the word which the Lord spoke earlier concerning Moab.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 16:14---- Isa 16:14 καὶ νῦν λέγω ἐν τρισὶν ἔτεσιν ἐτῶν μισθωτοῦ ἀτιμασθήσεται ἡ δόξα Μωαβ ἐν παντὶ τῷ πλούτῳ τῷ πολλῷ καὶ καταλειφθήσεται ὀλιγοστὸς καὶ οὐκ ἔντιμος (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 16:14 But now the Lord speaks, saying, "Within three years, as a hired man would count them, the glory of Moab will be degraded along with all his great population, and his remnant will be very small and impotent."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 17:1 ---- written 740-680 B.C.
