Pre-Exilic---- Jer 41:1 ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος πρὸς Ιερεμιαν παρὰ κυρίου καὶ Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ πᾶν τὸ στρατόπεδον αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ἀρχῆς αὐτοῦ ἐπολέμουν ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα λέγων (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:1 In the seventh month Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal family and one of the chief officers of the king, along with ten men, came to Mizpah to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. While they were eating bread together there in Mizpah,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:2---- Jer 41:2 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος βάδισον πρὸς Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτῷ οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος παραδόσει παραδοθήσεται ἡ πόλις αὕτη εἰς χεῖρας βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος καὶ συλλήμψεται αὐτὴν καὶ καύσει αὐτὴν ἐν πυρί (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:2 Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and the ten men who were with him arose and struck down Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword and put to death the one whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the land.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:3---- Jer 41:3 καὶ σὺ οὐ μὴ σωθῇς ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ συλλήμψει συλλημφθήσῃ καὶ εἰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ δοθήσῃ καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ὄψονται καὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ μετὰ τοῦ στόματός σου λαλήσει καὶ εἰς Βαβυλῶνα εἰσελεύσῃ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:3 Ishmael also struck down all the Jews who were with him, that is with Gedaliah at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there, the men of war.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:4---- Jer 41:4 ἀλλὰ ἄκουσον τὸν λόγον κυρίου Σεδεκια βασιλεῦ Ιουδα οὕτως λέγει κύριος (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:4 Now it happened on the next day after the killing of Gedaliah, when no one knew about it,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:5---- Jer 41:5 ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἀποθανῇ καὶ ὡς ἔκλαυσαν τοὺς πατέρας σου τοὺς βασιλεύσαντας πρότερόν σου κλαύσονται καὶ σὲ καὶ ὦ αδων κόψονταί σε ὅτι λόγον ἐγὼ ἐλάλησα εἶπεν κύριος (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:5 that eighty men came from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria with their beards shaved off and their clothes torn and their bodies gashed, having grain offerings and incense in their hands to bring to the house of the Lord.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:6---- Jer 41:6 καὶ ἐλάλησεν Ιερεμιας πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Σεδεκιαν πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:6 Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went; and as he met them, he said to them, "Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam!"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:7---- Jer 41:7 καὶ ἡ δύναμις βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος ἐπολέμει ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα ἐπὶ Λαχις καὶ ἐπὶ Αζηκα ὅτι αὗται κατελείφθησαν ἐν πόλεσιν Ιουδα πόλεις ὀχυραί (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:7 Yet it turned out that as soon as they came inside the city, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and the men that were with him slaughtered them and cast them into the cistern.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:8---- Jer 41:8 ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος πρὸς Ιερεμιαν παρὰ κυρίου μετὰ τὸ συντελέσαι τὸν βασιλέα Σεδεκιαν διαθήκην πρὸς τὸν λαὸν τοῦ καλέσαι ἄφεσιν (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:8 But ten men who were found among them said to Ishmael, "Do not put us to death; for we have stores of wheat, barley, oil and honey hidden in the field." So he refrained and did not put them to death along with their companions.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:9---- Jer 41:9 τοῦ ἐξαποστεῖλαι ἕκαστον τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστον τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ τὸν Εβραῖον καὶ τὴν Εβραίαν ἐλευθέρους πρὸς τὸ μὴ δουλεύειν ἄνδρα ἐξ Ιουδα (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:9 Now as for the cistern where Ishmael had cast all the corpses of the men whom he had struck down because of Gedaliah, it was the one that King Asa had made on account of Baasha, king of Israel; Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with the slain.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:10---- Jer 41:10 καὶ ἐπεστράφησαν πάντες οἱ μεγιστᾶνες καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς οἱ εἰσελθόντες ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ τοῦ ἀποστεῖλαι ἕκαστον τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστον τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:10 Then Ishmael took captive all the remnant of the people who were in Mizpah, the king's daughters and all the people who were left in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard had put under the charge of Gedaliah the son of Ahikam; thus Ishmael the son of Nethaniah took them captive and proceeded to cross over to the sons of Ammon.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:11---- Jer 41:11 καὶ ἔωσαν αὐτοὺς εἰς παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:11 But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces that were with him heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:12---- Jer 41:12 καὶ ἐγενήθη λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν λέγων (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:12 So they took all the men and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and they found him by the great pool that is in Gibeon.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:13---- Jer 41:13 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐγὼ ἐθέμην διαθήκην πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἐξειλάμην αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας λέγων (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:13 Now as soon as all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah and the commanders of the forces that were with him, they were glad.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:14---- Jer 41:14 ὅταν πληρωθῇ ἓξ ἔτη ἀποστελεῖς τὸν ἀδελφόν σου τὸν Εβραῖον ὃς πραθήσεταί σοι καὶ ἐργᾶταί σοι ἓξ ἔτη καὶ ἐξαποστελεῖς αὐτὸν ἐλεύθερον καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσάν μου καὶ οὐκ ἔκλιναν τὸ οὖς αὐτῶν (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:14 So all the people whom Ishmael had taken captive from Mizpah turned around and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:15---- Jer 41:15 καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν σήμερον ποιῆσαι τὸ εὐθὲς πρὸ ὀφθαλμῶν μου τοῦ καλέσαι ἄφεσιν ἕκαστον τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ συνετέλεσαν διαθήκην κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ οὗ ἐπεκλήθη τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:15 But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men and went to the sons of Ammon.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:16---- Jer 41:16 καὶ ἐπεστρέψατε καὶ ἐβεβηλώσατε τὸ ὄνομά μου τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι ἕκαστον τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστον τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ οὓς ἐξαπεστείλατε ἐλευθέρους τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτῶν ὑμῖν εἰς παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:16 Then Johanan the son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces that were with him took from Mizpah all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, after he had struck down Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, that is, the men who were soldiers, the women, the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:17---- Jer 41:17 διὰ τοῦτο οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὑμεῖς οὐκ ἠκούσατέ μου τοῦ καλέσαι ἄφεσιν ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καλῶ ἄφεσιν ὑμῖν εἰς μάχαιραν καὶ εἰς τὸν θάνατον καὶ εἰς τὸν λιμὸν καὶ δώσω ὑμᾶς εἰς διασπορὰν πάσαις ταῖς βασιλείαις τῆς γῆς (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:17 And they went and stayed in Geruth Chimham, which is beside Bethlehem, in order to proceed into Egypt(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Jeremiah 41:18---- Jer 41:18 καὶ δώσω τοὺς ἄνδρας τοὺς παρεληλυθότας τὴν διαθήκην μου τοὺς μὴ στήσαντας τὴν διαθήκην μου ἣν ἐποίησαν κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου τὸν μόσχον ὃν ἐποίησαν ἐργάζεσθαι αὐτῷ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jer 41:18 because of the Chaldeans;
