(Hebrew) 1 ׃13 מַשָּׂ֖א בָּבֶ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָזָ֔ה יְשַׁעְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן־אָמֽוֹץ׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:1 The oracle concerning Babylon which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:2---- (Hebrew) 2 ׃13 עַ֤ל הַר־נִשְׁפֶּה֙ שְֽׂאוּ־נֵ֔ס הָרִ֥ימוּ ק֖וֹל לָהֶ֑ם הָנִ֣יפוּ יָ֔ד וְיָבֹ֖אוּ פִּתְחֵ֥י נְדִיבִֽים׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:2 Lift up a standard on the bare hill, Raise your voice to them, Wave the hand that they may enter the doors of the nobles.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:3---- (Hebrew) 3 ׃13 אֲנִ֥י צִוֵּ֖יתִי לִמְקֻדָּשָׁ֑י גַּ֣ם קָרָ֤אתִי גִבּוֹרַי֙ לְאַפִּ֔י עַלִּיזֵ֖י גַּאֲוָתִֽי׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:3 I have commanded My consecrated ones, I have even called My mighty warriors, My proudly exulting ones, To execute My anger.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:4---- (Hebrew) 4 ׃13 ק֥וֹל הָמ֛וֹן בֶּֽהָרִ֖ים דְּמ֣וּת עַם־רָ֑ב ק֠וֹל שְׁא֞וֹן מַמְלְכ֤וֹת גּוֹיִם֙ נֶֽאֱסָפִ֔ים יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת מְפַקֵּ֖ד צְבָ֥א מִלְחָמָֽה׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:4 A sound of tumult on the mountains, Like that of many people! A sound of the uproar of kingdoms, Of nations gathered together! The Lord of hosts is mustering the army for battle.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:5---- (Hebrew) 5 ׃13 בָּאִ֛ים מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מֶרְחָ֖ק מִקְצֵ֣ה הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם יְהוָה֙ וּכְלֵ֣י זַעְמ֔וֹ לְחַבֵּ֖ל כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:5 They are coming from a far country, From the farthest horizons, The Lord and His instruments of indignation, To destroy the whole land.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:6---- (Hebrew) 6 ׃13 הֵילִ֕ילוּ כִּ֥י קָר֖וֹב י֣וֹם יְהוָ֑ה כְּשֹׁ֖ד מִשַׁדַּ֥י יָבֽוֹא׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:6 Wail, for the day of the Lord is near! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:7---- (Hebrew) 7 ׃13 עַל־כֵּ֖ן כָּל־יָדַ֣יִם תִּרְפֶּ֑ינָה וְכָל־לְבַ֥ב אֱנ֖וֹשׁ יִמָּס׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:7 Therefore all hands will fall limp, And every man's heart will melt.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:8---- (Hebrew) 8 ׃13 וְֽנִבְהָ֓לוּ ׀ צִירִ֤ים וַֽחֲבָלִים֙ יֹֽאחֵז֔וּן כַּיּוֹלֵדָ֖ה יְחִיל֑וּן אִ֤ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ יִתְמָ֔הוּ פְּנֵ֥י לְהָבִ֖ים פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:8 They will be terrified, Pains and anguish will take hold of them; They will writhe like a woman in labor, They will look at one another in astonishment, Their faces aflame.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:9---- (Hebrew) 9 ׃13 הִנֵּ֤ה יוֹם־יְהוָה֙ בָּ֔א אַכְזָרִ֥י וְעֶבְרָ֖ה וַחֲר֣וֹן אָ֑ף לָשׂ֤וּם הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה וְחַטָּאֶ֖יהָ יַשְׁמִ֥יד מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:9 Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:10---- (Hebrew) 10 ׃13 כִּֽי־כוֹכְבֵ֤י הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וּכְסִ֣ילֵיהֶ֔ם לֹ֥א יָהֵ֖לּוּ אוֹרָ֑ם חָשַׁ֤ךְ הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ בְּצֵאת֔וֹ וְיָרֵ֖חַ לֹֽא־יַגִּ֥יהַ אוֹרֽוֹ׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:10 For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:11---- (Hebrew) 11 ׃13 וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י עַל־תֵּבֵל֙ רָעָ֔ה וְעַל־רְשָׁעִ֖ים עֲוֺנָ֑ם וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ גְּא֣וֹן זֵדִ֔ים וְגַאֲוַ֥ת עָרִיצִ֖ים אַשְׁפִּֽיל׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:11 Thus I will punish the world for its evil And the wicked for their iniquity; I will also put an end to the arrogance of the proud And abase the haughtiness of the ruthless.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:12---- (Hebrew) 12 ׃13 אוֹקִ֥יר אֱנ֖וֹשׁ מִפָּ֑ז וְאָדָ֖ם מִכֶּ֥תֶם אוֹפִֽיר׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:12 I will make mortal man scarcer than pure gold And mankind than the gold of Ophir.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:13---- (Hebrew) 13 ׃13 עַל־כֵּן֙ שָׁמַ֣יִם אַרְגִּ֔יז וְתִרְעַ֥שׁ הָאָ֖רֶץ מִמְּקוֹמָ֑הּ בְּעֶבְרַת֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת וּבְי֖וֹם חֲר֥וֹן אַפּֽוֹ׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, And the earth will be shaken from its place At the fury of the Lord of hosts In the day of His burning anger.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:14---- (Hebrew) 14 ׃13 וְהָיָה֙ כִּצְבִ֣י מֻדָּ֔ח וּכְצֹ֖אן וְאֵ֣ין מְקַבֵּ֑ץ אִ֤ישׁ אֶל־עַמּוֹ֙ יִפְנ֔וּ וְאִ֥ישׁ אֶל־אַרְצ֖וֹ יָנֽוּסוּ׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:14 And it will be that like a hunted gazelle, Or like sheep with none to gather them, They will each turn to his own people, And each one flee to his own land.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:15---- (Hebrew) 15 ׃13 כָּל־הַנִּמְצָ֖א יִדָּקֵ֑ר וְכָל־הַנִּסְפֶּ֖ה יִפּ֥וֹל בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:15 Anyone who is found will be thrust through, And anyone who is captured will fall by the sword.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:16---- (Hebrew) 16 ׃13 וְעֹלְלֵיהֶ֥ם יְרֻטְּשׁ֖וּ לְעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם יִשַּׁ֙סּוּ֙ בָּֽתֵּיהֶ֔ם וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם *תשגלנה **תִּשָּׁכַֽבְנָה׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:16 Their little ones also will be dashed to pieces Before their eyes; Their houses will be plundered And their wives ravished.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:17---- (Hebrew) 17 ׃13 הִנְנִ֛י מֵעִ֥יר עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם אֶת־מָדָ֑י אֲשֶׁר־כֶּ֙סֶף֙ לֹ֣א יַחְשֹׁ֔בוּ וְזָהָ֖ב לֹ֥א יַחְפְּצוּ־בֽוֹ׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:17 Behold, I am going to stir up the Medes against them, Who will not value silver or take pleasure in gold.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:18---- (Hebrew) 18 ׃13 וּקְשָׁת֖וֹת נְעָרִ֣ים תְּרַטַּ֑שְׁנָה וּפְרִי־בֶ֙טֶן֙ לֹ֣א יְרַחֵ֔מוּ עַל־בָּנִ֖ים לֹֽא־תָח֥וּס עֵינָֽם׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:18 And their bows will mow down the young men, They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb, Nor will their eye pity children.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:19---- (Hebrew) 19 ׃13 וְהָיְתָ֤ה בָבֶל֙ צְבִ֣י מַמְלָכ֔וֹת תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת גְּא֣וֹן כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים כְּמַהְפֵּכַ֣ת אֱלֹהִ֔ים אֶת־סְדֹ֖ם וְאֶת־עֲמֹרָֽה׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:19 And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans' pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:20---- (Hebrew) 20 ׃13 לֹֽא־תֵשֵׁ֣ב לָנֶ֔צַח וְלֹ֥א תִשְׁכֹּ֖ן עַד־דּ֣וֹר וָד֑וֹר וְלֹֽא־יַהֵ֥ל שָׁם֙ עֲרָבִ֔י וְרֹעִ֖ים לֹא־יַרְבִּ֥צוּ שָֽׁם׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:20 It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there, Nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:21---- (Hebrew) 21 ׃13 וְרָבְצוּ־שָׁ֣ם צִיִּ֔ים וּמָלְא֥וּ בָתֵּיהֶ֖ם אֹחִ֑ים וְשָׁ֤כְנוּ שָׁם֙ בְּנ֣וֹת יַֽעֲנָ֔ה וּשְׂעִירִ֖ים יְרַקְּדוּ־שָֽׁם׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:21 But desert creatures will lie down there, And their houses will be full of owls; Ostriches also will live there, and shaggy goats will frolic there.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Isaiah 13:22---- (Hebrew) 22 ׃13 וְעָנָ֤ה אִיִּים֙ בְּאַלְמנוֹתָ֔יו וְתַנִּ֖ים בְּהֵ֣יכְלֵי עֹ֑נֶג וְקָר֤וֹב לָבוֹא֙ עִתָּ֔הּ וְיָמֶ֖יהָ לֹ֥א יִמָּשֵֽׁכוּ׃ Isaiah -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isa 13:22 Hyenas will howl in their fortified towers And jackals in their luxurious palaces.
