(Hebrew) אָז יִקַּח פִּילָטוֹס אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ וַיְיַסֵּר אֹתוֹ בַּשּׁוֹטִים׃ א John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:1 Pilate then took Jesus and scourged Him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:2---- (Hebrew) וְאַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא שָׂרְגוּ כֶתֶר קוֹצִים וַיָּשִׂימוּ עַל־רֹאשׁוֹ וַיַּלְבִּישֻׁהוּ מְעִיל אַרְגָּמָן׃ ב John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:2 And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and put a purple robe on Him;(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:3---- (Hebrew) וַיִּגְשׁוּ אֵלָיו וַיִּקְרְאוּ יְחִי מֶלֶךְ הַיְּהוּדִים וַיַּכֻּהוּ עַל־הַלֶּחִי׃ ג John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:3 and they began to come up to Him and say, "Hail, King of the Jews!" and to give Him slaps in the face.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:4---- (Hebrew) וַיָּשָׁב פִּילָטוֹס וַיֵּצֵא הַחוּצָה וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם הִנֵּה אוֹצִיאֶנּוּ לִפְנֵיכֶם לְבַעֲבוּר תֵּדְעוּ כִּי לֹא־מָצָאתִי בוֹ עָוֹן׃ ד John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:4 Pilate came out again and said to them, "Behold, I am bringing Him out to you so that you may know that I find no guilt in Him."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:5---- (Hebrew) וַיֵּצֵא יֵשׁוּעַ הַחוּצָה נֹשֵׂא כֶתֶר הַקּוֹצִים וּמְעִיל הָאַרְגָּמָן עָלָיו וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם פִּילָטוֹס הִנֵּה הַגָּבֶר׃ ה John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:5 Jesus then came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, "Behold, the Man!"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:6---- (Hebrew) וְרָאשֵׁי הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַמְשַׁרְתִים כִּרְאוֹתָם אֹתוֹ צָעֲקוּ לֵאמֹר הַצְלֵב הַצְלֵב אֹתוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם פִּילָטוֹס קְחוּ אֹתוֹ אַתֶּם וְהַצְלִיבֻהוּ כִּי אֲנִי לֹא־מָצָאתִי בוֹ עָוֹן׃ ו John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:6 So when the chief priests and the officers saw Him, they cried out saying, "Crucify, crucify!" Pilate said to them, "Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no guilt in Him."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:7---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעֲנוּ אֹתוֹ הַיְּהוּדִים הִנֵּה יֶשׁ־לָנוּ תּוֹרָה וּלְפִי תוֹרָתֵנוּ מִשְׁפָּט־מָוֶת לוֹ כִּי־מִתְאַמֵּר לֵאמֹר בֶּן־הָאֱלֹהִים הוּא׃ ז John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:7 The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and by that law He ought to die because He made Himself out to be the Son of God."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:8---- (Hebrew) כִּשְׁמֹעַ פִּילָטוֹס אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וַיִּירָא יֶתֶר מְאֹד׃ ח John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:8 Therefore when Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid;(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:9---- (Hebrew) וַיָּשָׁב וַיָּבֹא אֶל־בֵּית הַמִּשְׁפָּט וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־יֵשׁוּעַ אֵי מִזֶּה אָתָּה וְיֵשׁוּעַ לֹא־עָנָה אֹתוֹ מְאוּמָה׃ ט John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:9 and he entered into the Praetorium again and said to Jesus," Where are You from?" But Jesus gave him no answer.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:10---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו פִּילָטוֹס הַאֵלַי לֹא תְדַבֵּר הֲלֹא תֵדַע כִּי יָדִי רַב־לִי לְשַׁלֵּחֲךָ וְרַב־לִי לִצְלָבֶךָ׃ י John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:10 So Pilate said to Him, "You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:11---- (Hebrew) וַיַעַן אֹתוֹ יֵשׁוּעַ אֵין־לְךָ כֹחַ עָלַי לוּלֵא נִתַּן־לְךָ מֵעָל עַל־כֵּן עֲוֹן מַסְגִּירַי בְּיָדֶיךָ גָּדוֹל מֵעֲוֹנֶךָ׃ יא John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:11 Jesus answered, "You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:12---- (Hebrew) וְעַל־זֹאת בִּקֵשׁ פִּילָטוֹס לְשַׁלְּחוֹ וְהַיְּהוּדִים צָעֲקוּ וְאָמְרוּ אִם־תְּשַׁלַּח אֶת־הָאִישׁ הַזֶּה אֵינְךָ אֹהֵב אֶת־הַקֵּיסָר כִּי הַמִּתְקוֹמֵם לִהְיוֹת לְמֶלֶךְ הוּא מִתְקוֹמֵם עַל־הַקֵּיסָר׃ יב John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:12 As a result of this Pilate made efforts to release Him, but the Jews cried out saying, "If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself out to be a king opposes Caesar."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:13---- (Hebrew) כִּשְׁמֹעַ פִּילְטוֹס אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה הוֹצִיא אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ הַחוּצָה וַיֵּשֶׁב עַל־כִּסֵּא הַמִּשְׁפָּט בַּמָּקוֹם הַנִּקְרָא מַרְצֶפֶת אֲבָנִים וּבְעִבְרִית גַּבְּתָא׃ יג John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:13 Therefore when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:14---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמַר ֵֶאל־הַיְּהוּדִים בָּעֶרֶב הַפֶּסַח הַהוּא כַּשָּׁעָה הַשִּׁשִּׁית הִנֵּה מַלְכְּכֶם׃ יד John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:14 Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover; it was about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, "Behold, your King!"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:15---- (Hebrew) וַיִּצְעֲקוּ הַיְצֵא הַיְצֵא אֹתוֹ צְלֹב אֹתוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם פִּילָטוֹס הֲצָלֹב אֶצְלֹב אֶת־מַלְכְּכֶם וַיַּעֲנוּ רָאשֵׁי הַכֹּהֲנִים אֵין־לָנוּ מֶלֶךְ כִּי אִם־הַקֵּיסָר׃ טו John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:15 So they cried out, "Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him!" Pilate said to them, "Shall I crucify your King?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:16---- (Hebrew) אָז נְתָנוֹ בְיָדָם לִצְלֹב אֹתוֹ וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ וַיּוֹלִיכֻהוּ׃ טז John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:16 So he then handed Him over to them to be crucified.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:17---- (Hebrew) וַיַּשִּׂיאוּ אֹתוֹ אֶת־עֵץ צְלָבוֹ וַיְבִיאֻהוּ אֶל־הַמָּקוֹם הַנִּקְרָא מְקוֹם הַגֻּלְגֹּלֶת וּבְעִבְרִית גָּלְגָּלְתָּא׃ יז John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:17 They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:18---- (Hebrew) וַיִּצְלְבוּ אֹתוֹ שָׁם וּשְׁנֵי אֲנָשִׁים אֲחֵרִים עִמּוֹ מֵעֵבֶר מִזֶּה וּמִזֶּה וְיֵשׁוּעַ בֵּין שְׁנֵיהֶם׃ יח John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:18 There they crucified Him, and with Him two other men, one on either side, and Jesus in between.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:19---- (Hebrew) וַיִּכְתֹּב פִּילָטוֹס כְּתֹבֶת עַל־לוּחַ וַיִשִׂימֵהוּ עַל־הַצְּלָב יֵשׁוּעַ הַנָּצְרִי מֶלֶךְ הַיְּהוּדִים׃ יט John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:19 Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It was written, "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:20---- (Hebrew) וִיהוּדִים רַבִּים קָרְאוּ אֶת־הַכְּתֹבֶת כִּי הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר נִצְלַב־שָׁם יֵשׁוּעַ קָרוֹב לָעִיר וְהַכְּתֹבֶת כְּתוּבָה עִבְרִית רוֹמִית וִיוָנִית׃ כ John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:20 Therefore many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin and in Greek.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:21---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמְרוּ רָאשֵׁי כֹהֲנֵי הַיְּהוּדִים אֶל־פִּילָטוֹס אַל־תִּכְתֹּב מֶלֶךְ הַיְּהוּדִים רַק כִּי אָמַר אֲנִי מֶלֶךְ הַיְּהוּדִים׃ כא John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:21 So the chief priests of the Jews were saying to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews'; but that He said, 'I am King of the Jews.'"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:22---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן פִּילָטוֹס אֶת־אֲשֶׁר כָּתַבְתִּי כָּתַבְתִּי׃ כב John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:22 Pilate answered, "What I have written I have written."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:23---- (Hebrew) וַיְהִי כַּאֲשֶׁר צָלְבוּ אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־בְּגָדָיו וַיְחַלְּקוּם אַרְבָּעָה רֹבַע לְאִישׁ אִישׁ וְגַם אֶת־כֻּתַּנְתּוֹ וְהַכְּתֹנֶת לֹא הָיְתָה תְּפוּרָה כִּי אִם־מַעֲשֶׂה אֹרֵג מִשָּׂפָה עַד־הַשָּׂפָה׃ כג John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His outer garments and made four parts, a part to every soldier and also the tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:24---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמְרוּ אִישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵהוּ לֹא נִקְרְעָה אֹתָהּ אַךְ נַפִּילָה עָלֶיהָ גּוֹרָל לְמִי תִהְיֶה לְהָקִים דְּבַר הַכָּתוּב יְחַלְּקוּ בְגָדַי לָהֶם וְעַל־לְבוּשִׁי יַפִּילוּ גוֹרָל וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־כֵן אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא׃ כד John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:24 So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be"; this was to fulfill the Scripture: "THEY DIVIDED MY OUTER GARMENTS AMONG THEM, AND FOR MY CLOTHING THEY CAST LOTS."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:25---- (Hebrew) וְעַל־יַד צְלַב יֵשׁוּעַ עָמְדוּ אִמּוֹ וַאֲחוֹת אִמּוֹ וּמִרְיָם אֵשֶׁת קְלוֹפָס וּמִרְיָם הַמַּגְדָּלִית׃ כה John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:25 Therefore the soldiers did these things. But standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:26---- (Hebrew) וַיַּרְא יֵשׁוּעַ אֶת־אִמּוֹ וְאֶת־תַּלְמִידוֹ אֲשֶׁר אָהַב עֹמְדִים אֶצְלוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־אִמּוֹ אִשָּׁה רְאִי זֶה בְּנֵךְ׃ כו John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:26 When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold, your son!"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:27---- (Hebrew) וְאַחַר אָמַר אֶל־תַּלְמִידוֹ רְאֵה זֹאת אִמֶּךָ וַיַּאַסְפָהּ הַתַּלְמִיד אֶל־בֵּיתוֹ מֵהַיּוֹם הַהוּא וָמָעְלָה׃ כז John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:27 Then He said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother!" From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:28---- (Hebrew) וְיֵשׁוּעַ בְּדַעְתּוֹ אַחֲרֵי־כֵן כִּי נִשְׁלַם כָּל־דָּבָר אַךְ לְמַלֹּאת אֶת־הַכָּתוּב אָמַר צָמֵאתִי׃ כח John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, said, "I am thirsty."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:29---- (Hebrew) וְשָׁם עָמַד כְּלִי מָלֵא חֹמֶץ וַיִּטְבְּלוּ סְפוֹג בַּחֹמֶץ וַיָּשִׂימוּ עַל־רֹאשׁ אֵזוֹב וַיַּגִיעוּהוּ אֶל־פִּיו׃ כט John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:29 A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:30---- (Hebrew) וַיִּטְעַם יֵשׁוּעַ מִן־הַחֹמֶץ וַיֹּאמֶר נִשְׁלָם וַיֵּט אֶת־רֹאשׁוֹ וַיַּפְקֵד אֶת־רוּחוֹ׃ ל John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:31---- (Hebrew) וְהַיְּהוּדִים חָשׁוּ לְבִלְתִּי הַשְׁאֵר אֶת־הַפְּגָרִים עַל־הָעֵץ בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת כִּי־עֶרֶב שַׁבָּת הָיָה וְהַשַּׁבָּת הַהוּא גָּדוֹל הוּא עַל־כֵּן שָׁאֲלוּ מִפִּלָטוֹס לְשַׁבֵּר אֶת־שׁוֹקֵיהֶם כִּי יָמוּתוּ וּלְהוֹרִידָם מִן־הָעֵץ׃ לא John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:31 Then the Jews, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:32---- (Hebrew) וַיָּבֹאוּ אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא וַיְשַׁבְּרוּ אֶת־שׁוֹקֵי הָאֶחָד וְאֶת־שׁוֹקֵי הַשֵּׁנִי אֲשֶׁר נִצְלְבוּ עִמּוֹ׃ לב John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:32 So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him;(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:33---- (Hebrew) וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־יֵשׁוּעַ וַיִּרְאוּ כִּי־כְבָר מֵת וְלֹא שִׁבְּרוּ אֶת־שׁוֹקָיו׃ לג John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:33 but coming to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:34---- (Hebrew) אַךְ אֶחָד מֵאַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא דְּקָרוֹ בַחֲנִית בְּצִדּוֹ וַיֵּצֵא דָם וָמָיִם׃ לד John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:35---- (Hebrew) וְהַמֵּעִיד עַל־זֶה רָאָה אֶת־הַדָּבָר וְעֵדוּתוֹ נֶאֱמָנָה וְהוּא יֹדֵעַ כִּי אֱמֶת יֶהְגֶּה חִכּוֹ לְבַעֲבוּר תַּאֲמִינוּ גַּם־אַתֶּם׃ לה John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:36---- (Hebrew) וְכָל־זֶה הָיָה לְקַיֵּם אֶת־הַכָּתוּב וְעֶצֶם לֹא־תִשְׁבְּרוּ בוֹ׃ לו John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:36 For these things came to pass to fulfill the Scripture, "NOT A BONE OF HIM SHALL BE BROKEN."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:37---- (Hebrew) וְעוֹד כָּתוּב לֵאמֹר וְהִבִּטוּ אֵלָיו אֵת אֲשֶׁר־דָּקָרוּ׃ לז John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:37 And again another Scripture says, "THEY SHALL LOOK ON HIM WHOM THEY PIERCED."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:38---- (Hebrew) וַיְהִי אַחַר הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה יוֹסֵף מִן־הָרָמָתַיִם הוּא אֲשֶׁר הָיָה תַּלְמִיד יֵשׁוּעַ בַּסֵּתֶר מִיִּרְאָתוֹ אֶת־הַיְּהוּדִים וַיִּשְׁאַל מֵאֵת פִּילָטוֹס לָתֶת־לוֹ לָשֵׂאת אֶת־גּוּפַת יֵשׁוּעַ׃ לח John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:38 After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:39---- (Hebrew) וַיִתֶּן־לוֹ פִּילָטוֹס רִשְׁיוֹן וַיָּבֹא וַיִּשָׂא אֶת־גּוּפַת יֵשׁוּעַ וְנַקְדִּימוֹן אֲשֶׁר לְפָנִים בָּא אֶל־יֵשׁוּעַ בַּלַּיְלָה בָּא גַּם־הוּא וְהֵבִיא סַמִּים בְּלוּלִים מֹר־וַאֲהָלוֹת כְּמֵאָה לִיטָרִין׃ לט John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:39 Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds weight.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:40---- (Hebrew) וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־גּוּפַת יֵשׁוּעַ וַיַּעֲטוּהָ בְתַכְרִיכִים אֲשֶׁר מִלְאוּ בְשָׂמִים כְּדֶרֶךְ קְבוּרַת הַיְּהוּדִים׃ מ John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:40 So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen wrappings with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:41---- (Hebrew) וּבַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר נִצְלַב־שָׁם הָיָה גָן וּבוֹ קֶבֶר חָדָשׁ אֲשֶׁר עוֹד לֹא־נִקְבַּר בּוֹ אִישׁ׃ מא John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 19:42---- (Hebrew) וּבִהְיוֹת הַיּוֹם עֶרֶב שַׁבָּת לַיְּהוּדִים וְהַקֶּבֶר קָרוֹב קָבְרוּ בוֹ אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַ׃ מב John -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jn 19:42 Therefore because of the Jewish day of preparation, since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- John 20:1 ---- written c. 85-90 A.D.---- |
