================================================================================ ---- Exodus 5:1 ---- written 1450-1410 B.C.---- Exo 5:1 καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσῆλθεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ααρων πρὸς Φαραω καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐξαπόστειλον τὸν λαόν μου ἵνα μοι ἑορτάσωσιν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exo 5:1 And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, "Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, 'Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.'"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Exodus 5:2---- Exo 5:2 καὶ εἶπεν Φαραω τίς ἐστιν οὗ εἰσακούσομαι τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ὥστε ἐξαποστεῖλαι τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ οὐκ οἶδα τὸν κύριον καὶ τὸν Ισραηλ οὐκ ἐξαποστέλλω (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exo 5:2 But Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? Please, let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Exodus 5:4---- Exo 5:4 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου ἵνα τί Μωυσῆ καὶ Ααρων διαστρέφετε τὸν λαόν μου ἀπὸ τῶν ἔργων ἀπέλθατε ἕκαστος ὑμῶν πρὸς τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exo 5:4 But the king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why do you draw the people away from their work? Get back to your labors!"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Exodus 5:5---- Exo 5:5 καὶ εἶπεν Φαραω ἰδοὺ νῦν πολυπληθεῖ ὁ λαός μὴ οὖν καταπαύσωμεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν ἔργων (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exo 5:5 Again Pharaoh said, "Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Exodus 5:6---- Exo 5:6 συνέταξεν δὲ Φαραω τοῖς ἐργοδιώκταις τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ τοῖς γραμματεῦσιν λέγων (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exo 5:6 So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters over the people and their foremen, saying,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Exodus 5:7---- Exo 5:7 οὐκέτι προστεθήσεται διδόναι ἄχυρον τῷ λαῷ εἰς τὴν πλινθουργίαν καθάπερ ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτην ἡμέραν αὐτοὶ πορευέσθωσαν καὶ συναγαγέτωσαν ἑαυτοῖς ἄχυρα (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exo 5:7 "You are no longer to give the people straw to make brick as previously; let them go and gather straw for themselves.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Exodus 5:8---- Exo 5:8 καὶ τὴν σύνταξιν τῆς πλινθείας ἧς αὐτοὶ ποιοῦσιν καθ᾽ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν ἐπιβαλεῖς αὐτοῖς οὐκ ἀφελεῖς οὐδέν σχολάζουσιν γάρ διὰ τοῦτο κεκράγασιν λέγοντες πορευθῶμεν καὶ θύσωμεν τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν (LXX 282-105BC) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exo 5:8 But the quota of bricks which they were making previously, you shall impose on them; you are not to reduce any of it.
