For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:5---- 2Pe 3:5 λανθάνει γὰρ αὐτοὺς τοῦτο θέλοντας, ὅτι οὐρανοὶ ἦσαν ἔκπαλαι καὶ γῆ ἐξ ὕδατος καὶ δι᾽ ὕδατος συνεστῶσα τῶ τοῦ θεοῦ λόγῳ, (Nestle-Aland 125-200AD) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2Pe 3:5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:6---- 2Pe 3:6 δι᾽ ὧν ὁ τότε κόσμος ὕδατι κατακλυσθεὶς ἀπώλετο· (Nestle-Aland 125-200AD) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2Pe 3:6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:7---- 2Pe 3:7 οἱ δὲ νῦν οὐρανοὶ καὶ ἡ γῆ τῶ αὐτῶ λόγῳ τεθησαυρισμένοι εἰσὶν πυρί, τηρούμενοι εἰς ἡμέραν κρίσεως καὶ ἀπωλείας τῶν ἀσεβῶν ἀνθρώπων. (Nestle-Aland 125-200AD) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2Pe 3:7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:8---- 2Pe 3:8 ἓν δὲ τοῦτο μὴ λανθανέτω ὑμᾶς, ἀγαπητοί, ὅτι μία ἡμέρα παρὰ κυρίῳ ὡς χίλια ἔτη καὶ χίλια ἔτη ὡς ἡμέρα μία. (Nestle-Aland 125-200AD) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2Pe 3:8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:9---- 2Pe 3:9 οὐ βραδύνει κύριος τῆς ἐπαγγελίας, ὥς τινες βραδύτητα ἡγοῦνται, ἀλλὰ μακροθυμεῖ εἰς ὑμᾶς, μὴ βουλόμενός τινας ἀπολέσθαι ἀλλὰ πάντας εἰς μετάνοιαν χωρῆσαι. (Nestle-Aland 125-200AD) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:10---- 2Pe 3:10 ἥξει δὲ ἡμέρα κυρίου ὡς κλέπτης, ἐν ᾗ οἱ οὐρανοὶ ῥοιζηδὸν παρελεύσονται, στοιχεῖα δὲ καυσούμενα λυθήσεται, καὶ γῆ καὶ τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ ἔργα εὑρεθήσεται. (Nestle-Aland 125-200AD) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:11---- 2Pe 3:11 τούτων οὕτως πάντων λυομένων ποταποὺς δεῖ ὑπάρχειν [ὑμᾶς] ἐν ἁγίαις ἀναστροφαῖς καὶ εὐσεβείαις, (Nestle-Aland 125-200AD) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2Pe 3:11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- 2 Peter 3:12---- 2Pe 3:12 προσδοκῶντας καὶ σπεύδοντας τὴν παρουσίαν τῆς τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμέρας, δι᾽ ἣν οὐρανοὶ πυρούμενοι λυθήσονται καὶ στοιχεῖα καυσούμενα τήκεται.
