marble columns, and couches of gold and silver on a mosaic pavement of porphyry, marble, mother-of-pearl and precious stones.(NASB-1995) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:7 Drinks were served in golden vessels of various kinds, and the royal wine was plentiful according to the king's その飲むことは法にかない、だれもしいられることはなかった。これは王が人々におのおの自分の好むようにさせよと宮廷のすべての役人に命じておいたからである。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:8 The drinking was done according to the law, there was no compulsion, for so the king had given orders to each official of his household that he should do according to the desires of each person.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:9---- エステル 記 1:9 王妃ワシテもまたアハシュエロス王に属する王宮の内で女たちのために酒宴を設けた。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:9 Queen Vashti also gave a banquet for the women in the palace which belonged to King Ahasuerus.(NASB-1995) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:10 On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar and Carkas, the seven eunuchs who served in the presence of King Ahasuerus,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:11---- エステル 記 1:11 王妃ワシテに王妃の冠をかぶらせて王の前にこさせよと言った。これは彼女が美しかったので、その美しさを民らと大臣たちに見せるためであった。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:11 to bring Queen Vashti before the king with her royal crown in order to display her beauty to the people and the princes, for she was beautiful.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:12---- エステル 記 1:12 ところが、王妃ワシテは侍従が伝えた王の命令に従って来ることを拒んだので、王は大いに憤り、その怒りが彼の内に燃えた。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:12 But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king's command delivered by the eunuchs. Then the king became very angry and his wrath burned within him.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:13---- エステル 記 1:13 そこで王は時を知っている知者に言った、――王はすべて法律と審判に通じている者に相談するのを常とした。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:13 Then the king said to the wise men who understood the times--for it was the custom of the king so to speak before all who knew law and justice(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther Est 1:14 and were close to him: Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media who had access to the king's presence and sat in the first place in the kingdom--(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:15---- エステル 記 1:15 「王妃ワシテは、アハシュエロス王が侍従をもって伝えた命令を行わないゆえ、法律に従って彼女にどうしたらよかろうか」。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:15 "According to law, what is to be done with Queen Vashti, because she did not obey the command of King Ahasuerus delivered by the eunuchs?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:16---- エステル 記 1:16 メムカンは王と大臣たちの前で言った、「王妃ワシテはただ王にむかって悪い事をしたばかりでなく、すべての大臣およびアハシュエロス王の各州のすべての民にむかってもしたのです。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:16 In the presence of the king and the princes, Memucan said, "Queen Vashti has wronged not only the king but also all the princes and all the peoples who are in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:17---- エステル 記 1:17 王妃のこの行いはあまねくすべての女たちに聞えて、彼らはついにその目に夫を卑しめ、『アハシュエロス王は王妃ワシテに、彼の前に来るように命じたがこなかった』と言うでしょう。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:17 For the queen's conduct will become known to all the women causing them to look with contempt on their husbands by saying, 'King Ahasuerus commanded Queen Vashti to be brought in to his presence, but she did not come.'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:18---- エステル 記 1:18 王妃のこの行いを聞いたペルシャとメデアの大臣の夫人たちもまた、今日、王のすべての大臣たちにこのように言うでしょう。そうすれば必ず卑しめと怒りが多く起ります。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:18 This day the ladies of Persia and Media who have heard of the queen's conduct will speak in the same way to all the king's princes, and there will be plenty of contempt and anger.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:19---- エステル 記 1:19 もし王がよしとされるならば、ワシテはこの後、再びアハシュエロス王の前にきてはならないという王の命令を下し、これをペルシャとメデアの法律の中に書きいれて変ることのないようにし、そして王妃の位を彼女にまさる他の者に与えなさい。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:19 If it pleases the king, let a royal edict be issued by him and let it be written in the laws of Persia and Media so that it cannot be repealed, that Vashti may no longer come into the presence of King Ahasuerus, and let the king give her royal position to another who is more worthy than she.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Esther 1:20---- エステル 記 1:20 王の下される詔がこの大きな国にあまねく告げ示されるとき、妻たる者はことごとく、その夫を高下の別なく共に敬うようになるでしょう」。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:20 When the king's edict which he will make is heard throughout all his kingdom, great as it is, then all women will give honor to their husbands, great and small."(NASB-1995) 王は王の諸州にあまねく書を送り、各州にはその文字にしたがい、各民族にはその言語にしたがって書き送り、すべて男子たる者はその家の主となるべきこと、また自分の民の言語を用いて語るべきことをさとした。 (JP) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Est 1:22 So he sent letters to all the king's provinces, to each province according to its script and to every people according to their language, that every man should be the master in his own house and the one who
