So the physicians embalmed Israel.(nasb) Gen 50:2 καὶ προσέταξεν Ιωσηφ τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ τοῖς ἐνταφιασταῖς ἐνταφιάσαι τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐνεταφίασαν οἱ ἐνταφιασταὶ τὸν Ισραηλ (lxx) Gen 50:2 Præcepitque servis suis medicis ut aromatibus condirent patrem.(vulgate) Gen 50:2 Und Joseph befahl seinen Knechten, den Ärzten, das sie seinen Vater salbten. Und die Ärzte salbten Israel,(dhs) Gen 50:2 And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father. And the Egyptians wept for him seventy days.(nasb) Gen 50:3 καὶ ἐπλήρωσαν αὐτοῦ τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας οὕτως γὰρ καταριθμοῦνται αἱ ἡμέραι τῆς ταφῆς καὶ ἐπένθησεν αὐτὸν Αἴγυπτος ἑβδομήκοντα ἡμέρας (lxx) Gen 50:3 Quibus jussa explentibus, transierunt quadraginta dies: iste quippe mos erat cadaverum conditorum: flevitque eum Ægyptus septuaginta diebus.(vulgate) Gen 50:3 bis daß vierzig Tage um waren; denn so lange währen die Salbetage. Und die Ägypter beweinten ihn siebzig Tage.(dhs) Gen 50:3 Forty days were required for him, for such are the days required for those who are embalmed; and the Egyptians mourned for him seventy days.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:4 ============ Gen 50:4 When the days of mourning for him were past, Joseph spoke to the household of Pharaoh, saying, "If now I have found favor in your sight, please speak to Pharaoh, saying,(nasb) Gen 50:4 ἐπειδὴ δὲ παρῆλθον αἱ ἡμέραι τοῦ πένθους ἐλάλησεν Ιωσηφ πρὸς τοὺς δυνάστας Φαραω λέγων εἰ εὗρον χάριν ἐναντίον ὑμῶν λαλήσατε περὶ ἐμοῦ εἰς τὰ ὦτα Φαραω λέγοντες (lxx) Gen 50:4 Et expleto planctus tempore, locutus est Joseph ad familiam Pharaonis: Si inveni gratiam in conspectu vestro, loquimini in auribus Pharaonis:(vulgate) Gen 50:4 Da nun die Leidtage aus waren, redete Joseph mit Pharaos Gesinde und sprach: Habe ich Gnade vor euch gefunden, so redet mit Pharao und sprecht:(dhs) Gen 50:4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spoke to the household of Pharaoh, saying, "If now I have found favor in your eyes, please speak in the hearing of Pharaoh, saying,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:5 ============ Gen 50:5 'My father made me swear, saying, "Behold, I am about to die; in my grave which I dug for myself in the land of Canaan, there you shall bury me." Now therefore, please let me go up and bury my father; then I will return.'"(nasb) Gen 50:5 ὁ πατήρ μου ὥρκισέν με λέγων ἐν τῷ μνημείῳ ᾧ ὤρυξα ἐμαυτῷ ἐν γῇ Χανααν ἐκεῖ με θάψεις νῦν οὖν ἀναβὰς θάψω τὸν πατέρα μου καὶ ἐπανελεύσομαι (lxx) Gen 50:5 eo quod pater meus adjuraverit me dicens: En morior: in sepulchro meo, quod fodi mihi in terra Chanaan, sepelies me. Ascendam igitur, et sepeliam patrem meum, ac revertar.(vulgate) Gen 50:5 Mein Vater hat einen Eid von mir genommen und gesagt: Siehe, ich sterbe; begrabe mich in meinem Grabe, das ich mir im Lande Kanaan gegraben habe. So will ich nun hinaufziehen und meinen Vater begraben und wiederkommen.(dhs) Gen 50:5 'My father made me swear, saying, "Behold, I am dying; in my grave which I dug for myself in the land of Canaan, there you shall bury me." Now therefore, please let me go up and bury my father, and I will come back.' "(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:6 ============ Gen 50:6 Pharaoh said, "Go up and bury your father, as he made you swear."(nasb) Gen 50:6 καὶ εἶπεν Φαραω ἀνάβηθι θάψον τὸν πατέρα σου καθάπερ ὥρκισέν σε (lxx) Gen 50:6 Dixitque ei Pharao: Ascende, et sepeli patrem tuum sicut adjuratus es.(vulgate) Gen 50:6 Pharao sprach: Zieh hinauf und begrabe deinen Vater, wie du ihm geschworen hast.(dhs) Gen 50:6 And Pharaoh said, "Go up and bury your father, as he made you swear."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:7 ============ Gen 50:7 So Joseph went up to bury his father, and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his household and all the elders of the land of Egypt,(nasb) Gen 50:7 καὶ ἀνέβη Ιωσηφ θάψαι τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ καὶ συνανέβησαν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ πάντες οἱ παῖδες Φαραω καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντες οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τῆς γῆς Αἰγύπτου (lxx) Gen 50:7 Quo ascendente, ierunt cum eo omnes senes domus Pharaonis, cunctique majores natu terræ Ægypti:(vulgate) Gen 50:7 Also zog Joseph hinauf, seinen Vater zu begraben. Und es zogen mit ihm alle Knechte Pharaos, die Ältesten seines Hauses und alle Ältesten des Landes Ägypten,(dhs) Gen 50:7 So Joseph went up to bury his father; and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:8 ============ Gen 50:8 and all the household of Joseph and his brothers and his father's household; they left only their little ones and their flocks and their herds in the land of Goshen.(nasb) Gen 50:8 καὶ πᾶσα ἡ πανοικία Ιωσηφ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ οἰκία ἡ πατρικὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν συγγένειαν καὶ τὰ πρόβατα καὶ τοὺς βόας ὑπελίποντο ἐν γῇ Γεσεμ (lxx) Gen 50:8 domus Joseph cum fratribus suis, absque parvulis, et gregibus atque armentis, quæ dereliquerant in terra Gessen.(vulgate) Gen 50:8 dazu das ganze Gesinde Josephs und seine Brüder und das Gesinde seines Vaters. Allein ihre Kinder, Schafe und Ochsen ließen sie im Lande Gosen.(dhs) Gen 50:8 as well as all the house of Joseph, his brothers, and his father's house. Only their little ones, their flocks, and their herds they left in the land of Goshen.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:9 ============ Gen 50:9 There also went up with him both chariots and horsemen; and it was a very great company.(nasb) Gen 50:9 καὶ συνανέβησαν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἅρματα καὶ ἱππεῖς καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ παρεμβολὴ μεγάλη σφόδρα (lxx) Gen 50:9 Habuit quoque in comitatu currus et equites: et facta est turba non modica.(vulgate) Gen 50:9 Und es zogen mit ihm hinauf Wagen und Reisige, und war ein sehr großes Heer.(dhs) Gen 50:9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen, and it was a very great gathering.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:10 ============ Gen 50:10 When they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, they lamented there with a very great and sorrowful lamentation; and he observed seven days mourning for his father.(nasb) Gen 50:10 καὶ παρεγένοντο ἐφ᾽ ἅλωνα Αταδ ὅ ἐστιν πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἐκόψαντο αὐτὸν κοπετὸν μέγαν καὶ ἰσχυρὸν σφόδρα καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πένθος τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας (lxx) Gen 50:10 Veneruntque ad Aream Atad, quæ sita est trans Jordanem: ubi celebrantes exequias planctu magno atque vehementi impleverunt septem dies.(vulgate) Gen 50:10 Da sie nun an die Tenne Atad kamen, die jenseit des Jordans liegt, da hielten sie eine gar große und bittere Klage; und er trug über seinen Vater Leid sieben Tage.(dhs) Gen 50:10 Then they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, and they mourned there with a great and very solemn lamentation. He observed seven days of mourning for his father.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:11 ============ Gen 50:11 Now when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad, they said, "This is a grievous mourning for the Egyptians." Therefore it was named Abel-mizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.(nasb) Gen 50:11 καὶ εἶδον οἱ κάτοικοι τῆς γῆς Χανααν τὸ πένθος ἐν ἅλωνι Αταδ καὶ εἶπαν πένθος μέγα τοῦτό ἐστιν τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις διὰ τοῦτο ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Πένθος Αἰγύπτου ὅ ἐστιν πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου (lxx) Gen 50:11 Quod cum vidissent habitatores terræ Chanaan, dixerunt: Planctus magnus est iste Ægyptiis. Et idcirco vocatum est nomen loci illius, Planctus Ægypti.(vulgate) Gen 50:11 Und da die Leute im Lande, die Kanaaniter, die Klage bei der Tenne Atad sahen, sprachen sie: Die Ägypter halten da große Klage. Therefore its name was called Abel Mizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:12 ============ Gen 50:12 Thus his sons did for him as he had charged them;(nasb) Gen 50:12 καὶ ἐποίησαν αὐτῷ οὕτως οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ (lxx) Gen 50:12 Fecerunt ergo filii Jacob sicut præceperat eis:(vulgate) Gen 50:12 Und seine Kinder taten, wie er ihnen befohlen hatte,(dhs) Gen 50:12 So his sons did for him just as he had commanded them.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:13 ============ Gen 50:13 for his sons carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre, which Abraham had bought along with the field for a burial site from Ephron the Hittite.(nasb) Gen 50:13 καὶ ἀνέλαβον αὐτὸν οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς γῆν Χανααν καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ σπήλαιον τὸ διπλοῦν ὃ ἐκτήσατο Αβρααμ τὸ σπήλαιον ἐν κτήσει μνημείου παρὰ Εφρων τοῦ Χετταίου κατέναντι Μαμβρη (lxx) Gen 50:13 et portantes eum in terram Chanaan, sepelierunt eum in spelunca duplici, quam emerat Abraham cum agro in possessionem sepulchri ab Ephron Hethæo, contra faciem Mambre.(vulgate) Gen 50:13 und führten ihn ins Land Kanaan und begruben ihn in der zwiefachen Höhle des Ackers, die Abraham erkauft hatte mit dem Acker zum Erbbegräbnis von Ephron, dem Hethiter, gegenüber Mamre.(dhs) Gen 50:13 For his sons carried him to the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite as property for a burial place.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:14 ============ Gen 50:14 After he had buried his father, Joseph returned to Egypt, he and his brothers, and all who had gone up with him to bury his father.(nasb) Gen 50:14 καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Ιωσηφ εἰς Αἴγυπτον αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ συναναβάντες θάψαι τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Gen 50:14 Reversusque est Joseph in Ægyptum cum fratribus suis, et omni comitatu, sepulto patre.~(vulgate) Gen 50:14 Als sie ihn nun begraben hatten, zog Joseph wieder nach Ägypten mit seinen Brüdern und mit allen, die mit ihm hinaufgezogen waren, seinen Vater zu begraben.(dhs) Gen 50:14 And after he had buried his father, Joseph returned to Egypt, he and his brothers and all who went up with him to bury his father.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:15 ============ Gen 50:15 When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "What if Joseph bears a grudge against us and pays us back in full for all the wrong which we did to him!"(nasb) Gen 50:15 ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ Ιωσηφ ὅτι τέθνηκεν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτῶν εἶπαν μήποτε μνησικακήσῃ ἡμῖν Ιωσηφ καὶ ἀνταπόδομα ἀνταποδῷ ἡμῖν πάντα τὰ κακά ἃ ἐνεδειξάμεθα αὐτῷ (lxx) Gen 50:15 Quo mortuo, timentes fratres ejus, et mutuo colloquentes: Ne forte memor sit injuriæ quam passus est, et reddat nobis omne malum quod fecimus,(vulgate) Gen 50:15 Die Brüder aber Josephs fürchteten sich, da ihr Vater gestorben war, und sprachen: Joseph möchte uns Gram sein und vergelten alle Bosheit, die wir an ihm getan haben.(dhs) Gen 50:15 When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:16 ============ Gen 50:16 So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, "Your father charged before he died, saying,(nasb) Gen 50:16 καὶ παρεγένοντο πρὸς Ιωσηφ λέγοντες ὁ πατήρ σου ὥρκισεν πρὸ τοῦ τελευτῆσαι αὐτὸν λέγων (lxx) Gen 50:16 mandaverunt ei dicentes: Pater tuus præcepit nobis antequam moreretur,(vulgate) Gen 50:16 Darum ließen sie ihm sagen: Dein Vater befahl vor seinem Tod und sprach:(dhs) Gen 50:16 So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, "Before your father died he commanded, saying,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:17 ============ Gen 50:17 'Thus you shall say to Joseph, "Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong."' And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.(nasb) Gen 50:17 οὕτως εἴπατε Ιωσηφ ἄφες αὐτοῖς τὴν ἀδικίαν καὶ τὴν ἁμαρτίαν αὐτῶν ὅτι πονηρά σοι ἐνεδείξαντο καὶ νῦν δέξαι τὴν ἀδικίαν τῶν θεραπόντων τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ πατρός σου καὶ ἔκλαυσεν Ιωσηφ λαλούντων αὐτῶν πρὸς αὐτόν (lxx) Gen 50:17 ut hæc tibi verbis illius diceremus: Obsecro ut obliviscaris sceleris fratrum tuorum, et peccati atque malitiæ quam exercuerunt in te: nos quoque oramus ut servis Dei patris tui dimittas iniquitatem hanc. Quibus auditis flevit Joseph.(vulgate) Gen 50:17 Also sollt ihr Joseph sagen: Vergib doch deinen Brüdern die Missetat und ihre Sünde, daß sie so übel an dir getan haben. So vergib doch nun diese Missetat uns, den Dienern des Gottes deines Vaters. Aber Joseph weinte, da sie solches mit ihm redeten.(dhs) Gen 50:17 'Thus you shall say to Joseph: "I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you." ' Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father." And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:18 ============ Gen 50:18 Then his brothers also came and fell down before him and said, "Behold, we are your servants."(nasb) Gen 50:18 καὶ ἐλθόντες πρὸς αὐτὸν εἶπαν οἵδε ἡμεῖς σοι οἰκέται (lxx) Gen 50:18 Veneruntque ad eum fratres sui: et proni adorantes in terram, dixerunt: Servi tui sumus.(vulgate) Gen 50:18 Und seine Brüder gingen hin und fielen vor ihm nieder und sprachen: Siehe, wir sind deine Knechte.(dhs) Gen 50:18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, "Behold, we are your servants."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:19 ============ Gen 50:19 But Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in God's place?(nasb) Gen 50:19 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ιωσηφ μὴ φοβεῖσθε τοῦ γὰρ θεοῦ εἰμι ἐγώ (lxx) Gen 50:19 Quibus ille respondit: Nolite timere: num Dei possumus resistere voluntati?(vulgate) Gen 50:19 Joseph sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht, denn ich bin unter Gott.(dhs) Gen 50:19 Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:20 ============ Gen 50:20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.(nasb) Gen 50:20 ὑμεῖς ἐβουλεύσασθε κατ᾽ ἐμοῦ εἰς πονηρά ὁ δὲ θεὸς ἐβουλεύσατο περὶ ἐμοῦ εἰς ἀγαθά ὅπως ἂν γενηθῇ ὡς σήμερον ἵνα διατραφῇ λαὸς πολύς (lxx) Gen 50:20 Vos cogitastis de me malum: sed Deus vertit illud in bonum, ut exaltaret me, sicut in præsentiarum cernitis, et salvos faceret multos populos.(vulgate) Gen 50:20 Ihr gedachtet's böse mit mir zu machen; aber Gott gedachte es gut zu machen, daß er täte, wie es jetzt am Tage ist, zu erhalten viel Volks.(dhs) Gen 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:21 ============ Gen 50:21 So therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones." So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.(nasb) Gen 50:21 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς μὴ φοβεῖσθε ἐγὼ διαθρέψω ὑμᾶς καὶ τὰς οἰκίας ὑμῶν καὶ παρεκάλεσεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐλάλησεν αὐτῶν εἰς τὴν καρδίαν (lxx) Gen 50:21 Nolite timere: ego pascam vos et parvulos vestros: consolatusque est eos, et blande ac leniter est locutus.(vulgate) Gen 50:21 So fürchtet euch nun nicht; ich will euch versorgen und eure Kinder. Und er tröstete sie und redete freundlich mit ihnen.(dhs) Gen 50:21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones." And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:22 ============ Gen 50:22 Now Joseph stayed in Egypt, he and his father's household, and Joseph lived one hundred and ten years.(nasb) Gen 50:22 καὶ κατῴκησεν Ιωσηφ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ πανοικία τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔζησεν Ιωσηφ ἔτη ἑκατὸν δέκα (lxx) Gen 50:22 Et habitavit in Ægypto cum omni domo patris sui: vixitque centum decem annis. Et vidit Ephraim filios usque ad tertiam generationem. Filii quoque Machir filii Manasse nati sunt in genibus Joseph.(vulgate) Gen 50:22 Also wohnte Joseph in Ägypten mit seines Vaters Hause und lebte hundertundzehn Jahre(dhs) Gen 50:22 So Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his father's household. And Joseph lived one hundred and ten years.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 50:23 ============ Gen 50:23 Joseph saw the third generation of Ephraim's sons; also the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were born on Joseph's knees.(nasb) Gen 50:23 καὶ εἶδεν Ιωσηφ Εφραιμ παιδία ἕως τρίτης γενεᾶς καὶ υἱοὶ Μαχιρ τοῦ υἱοῦ Μανασση ἐτέχθησαν ἐπὶ μηρῶν Ιωσηφ (lxx) Gen 50:23 Quibus transactis, locutus est fratribus suis: Post mortem meam Deus visitabit vos, et ascendere vos faciet de terra ista ad terram quam juravit Abraham, Isaac et Jacob.(vulgate) Gen 50:23 und sah Ephraims Kinder bis ins dritte Glied. Auch wurden dem Machir, Manasses Sohn, Kinder geboren auf den Schoß Josephs.(dhs) Gen 50:23 Joseph saw Ephraim's children to the third generation. Et conditus aromatibus, repositus est in loculo in Ægypto.(vulgate) Gen 50:26 Also starb Joseph, da er war hundertundzehn Jahre alt.
