Today's Date: ======= Joshua 1:1 ============ Jos 1:1 Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying,(nasb) Jos 1:1 καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὴν τελευτὴν Μωυσῆ εἶπεν κύριος τῷ Ἰησοῖ υἱῷ Ναυη τῷ ὑπουργῷ Μωυσῆ λέγων (lxx) Jos 1:1 Et factum est post mortem Moysi servi Domini, ut loqueretur Dominus ad Josue filium Nun, ministrum Moysi, et diceret ei:(vulgate) Jos 1:1 Nach dem Tode Mose's, des Knechts des HERRN, sprach der HERR zu Josua, dem Sohn Nuns, Mose's Diener:(dhs) Jos 1:1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying:(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:2 ============ Jos 1:2 "Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.(nasb) Jos 1:2 Μωυσῆς ὁ θεράπων μου τετελεύτηκεν νῦν οὖν ἀναστὰς διάβηθι τὸν Ιορδάνην σὺ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς οὗτος εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ἐγὼ δίδωμι αὐτοῖς (lxx) Jos 1:2 Moyses servus meus mortuus est: surge, et transi Jordanem istum tu, et omnis populus tecum, in terram quam ego dabo filiis Israël.(vulgate) Jos 1:2 Mein Knecht Mose ist gestorben; so mache dich nun auf und zieh über den Jordan, du und dies ganze Volk, in das Land, das ich ihnen, den Kindern Israel, gegeben habe.(dhs) Jos 1:2 "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them--the children of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:3 ============ Jos 1:3 Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.(nasb) Jos 1:3 πᾶς ὁ τόπος ἐφ᾽ ὃν ἂν ἐπιβῆτε τῷ ἴχνει τῶν ποδῶν ὑμῶν ὑμῖν δώσω αὐτόν ὃν τρόπον εἴρηκα τῷ Μωυσῇ (lxx) Jos 1:3 Omnem locum, quem calcaverit vestigium pedis vestri, vobis tradam, sicut locutus sum Moysi.(vulgate) Jos 1:3 Alle Stätten, darauf eure Fußsohlen treten werden, habe ich euch gegeben, wie ich Mose geredet habe.(dhs) Jos 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:4 ============ Jos 1:4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory.(nasb) Jos 1:4 τὴν ἔρημον καὶ τὸν Ἀντιλίβανον ἕως τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου ποταμοῦ Εὐφράτου καὶ ἕως τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς ἐσχάτης ἀφ᾽ ἡλίου δυσμῶν ἔσται τὰ ὅρια ὑμῶν (lxx) Jos 1:4 A deserto et Libano usque ad fluvium magnum Euphraten, omnis terra Hethæorum usque ad mare magnum contra solis occasum erit terminus vester.(vulgate) Jos 1:4 Von der Wüste an und diesem Libanon bis an das große Wasser Euphrat, das ganze Land der Hethiter, bis an das große Meer gegen Abend sollen eure Grenzen sein.(dhs) Jos 1:4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:5 ============ Jos 1:5 No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.(nasb) Jos 1:5 οὐκ ἀντιστήσεται ἄνθρωπος κατενώπιον ὑμῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου καὶ ὥσπερ ἤμην μετὰ Μωυσῆ οὕτως ἔσομαι καὶ μετὰ σοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψω σε οὐδὲ ὑπερόψομαί σε (lxx) Jos 1:5 Nullus poterit vobis resistere cunctis diebus vitæ tuæ: sicut fui cum Moyse, ita ero tecum: non dimittam, nec derelinquam te.(vulgate) Jos 1:5 Es soll dir niemand widerstehen dein Leben lang. Wie ich mit Mose gewesen bin, also will ich auch mit dir sein. Ich will dich nicht verlassen noch von dir weichen.(dhs) Jos 1:5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:6 ============ Jos 1:6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.(nasb) Jos 1:6 ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου σὺ γὰρ ἀποδιαστελεῖς τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν δοῦναι αὐτοῖς (lxx) Jos 1:6 Confortare, et esto robustus: tu enim sorte divides populo huic terram, pro qua juravi patribus suis, ut traderem eam illis.(vulgate) Jos 1:6 Sei getrost und unverzagt; denn du sollst diesem Volk das Land austeilen, das ich ihren Vätern geschworen habe, daß ich's ihnen geben wollte.(dhs) Jos 1:6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:7 ============ Jos 1:7 Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.(nasb) Jos 1:7 ἴσχυε οὖν καὶ ἀνδρίζου φυλάσσεσθαι καὶ ποιεῖν καθότι ἐνετείλατό σοι Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς μου καὶ οὐκ ἐκκλινεῖς ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν εἰς δεξιὰ οὐδὲ εἰς ἀριστερά ἵνα συνῇς ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν πράσσῃς (lxx) Jos 1:7 Confortare igitur, et esto robustus valde, ut custodias, et facias omnem legem, quam præcepit tibi Moyses servus meus: ne declines ab ea ad dexteram vel ad sinistram, ut intelligas cuncta quæ agis.(vulgate) Jos 1:7 Sei nur getrost und sehr freudig, daß du haltest und tust allerdinge nach dem Gesetz, das dir Mose, mein Knecht, geboten hat. Weiche nicht davon, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken, auf daß du weise handeln mögest in allem, was du tun sollst.(dhs) Jos 1:7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:8 ============ Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.(nasb) Jos 1:8 καὶ οὐκ ἀποστήσεται ἡ βίβλος τοῦ νόμου τούτου ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου καὶ μελετήσεις ἐν αὐτῷ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός ἵνα συνῇς ποιεῖν πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα τότε εὐοδωθήσῃ καὶ εὐοδώσεις τὰς ὁδούς σου καὶ τότε συνήσεις (lxx) Jos 1:8 Non recedat volumen legis hujus ab ore tuo: sed meditaberis in eo diebus ac noctibus, ut custodias et facias omnia quæ scripta sunt in eo: tunc diriges viam tuam, et intelliges eam.(vulgate) Jos 1:8 Und laß dieses Buch des Gesetzes nicht von deinem Munde kommen, sondern betrachte es Tag und Nacht, auf daß du haltest und tust allerdinge nach dem, was darin geschrieben steht. Noli metuere, et noli timere: quoniam tecum est Dominus Deus tuus in omnibus ad quæcumque perrexeris.~(vulgate) Jos 1:9 Siehe, ich habe dir geboten, daß du getrost und freudig seist. Laß dir nicht grauen und entsetze dich nicht; denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist mit dir in allem, was du tun wirst.(dhs) Jos 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:10 ============ Jos 1:10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,(nasb) Jos 1:10 καὶ ἐνετείλατο Ἰησοῦς τοῖς γραμματεῦσιν τοῦ λαοῦ λέγων (lxx) Jos 1:10 Præcepitque Josue principibus populi, dicens: Transite per medium castrorum, et imperate populo, ac dicite:(vulgate) Jos 1:10 Da gebot Josua den Hauptleuten des Volks und sprach:(dhs) Jos 1:10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:11 ============ Jos 1:11 "Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, 'Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you are to cross this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you, to possess it.'"(nasb) Jos 1:11 εἰσέλθατε κατὰ μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἐντείλασθε τῷ λαῷ λέγοντες ἑτοιμάζεσθε ἐπισιτισμόν ὅτι ἔτι τρεῖς ἡμέραι καὶ ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην τοῦτον εἰσελθόντες κατασχεῖν τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν (lxx) Jos 1:11 Præparate vobis cibaria: quoniam post diem tertium transibitis Jordanem, et intrabitis ad possidendam terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis.(vulgate) Jos 1:11 Geht durch das Lager und gebietet dem Volk und sprecht: Schafft euch Vorrat; denn über drei Tage werdet ihr über diesen Jordan gehen, daß ihr hineinkommt und das Land einnehmt, daß euch der HERR, euer Gott, geben wird.(dhs) Jos 1:11 "Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, 'Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.' "(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:12 ============ Jos 1:12 To the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said,(nasb) Jos 1:12 καὶ τῷ Ρουβην καὶ τῷ Γαδ καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση εἶπεν Ἰησοῦς (lxx) Jos 1:12 Rubenitis quoque et Gaditis, et dimidiæ tribui Manasse, ait:(vulgate) Jos 1:12 Und zu den Rubenitern, Gaditern und dem halben Stamm Manasse sprach Josua:(dhs) Jos 1:12 And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh Joshua spoke, saying,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:13 ============ Jos 1:13 "Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, 'The Lord your God gives you rest and will give you this land.'(nasb) Jos 1:13 μνήσθητε τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ὃ ἐνετείλατο ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς κυρίου λέγων κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν κατέπαυσεν ὑμᾶς καὶ ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν γῆν ταύτην (lxx) Jos 1:13 Mementote sermonis, quem præcepit vobis Moyses famulus Domini, dicens: Dominus Deus vester dedit vobis requiem, et omnem terram.(vulgate) Jos 1:13 Gedenket an das Wort, das euch Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, sagte und sprach: Der HERR, euer Gott, hat euch zur Ruhe gebracht und dies Land gegeben.(dhs) Jos 1:13 "Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, 'The Lord your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.'(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:14 ============ Jos 1:14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan, but you shall cross before your brothers in battle array, all your valiant warriors, and shall help them,(nasb) Jos 1:14 αἱ γυναῖκες ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ παιδία ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη ὑμῶν κατοικείτωσαν ἐν τῇ γῇ ᾗ ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν ὑμεῖς δὲ διαβήσεσθε εὔζωνοι πρότεροι τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν πᾶς ὁ ἰσχύων καὶ συμμαχήσετε αὐτοῖς (lxx) Jos 1:14 Uxores vestræ, et filii, ac jumenta manebunt in terra, quam tradidit vobis Moyses trans Jordanem: vos autem transite armati ante fratres vestros, omnes fortes manu, et pugnate pro eis,(vulgate) Jos 1:14 Eure Weiber und Kinder und Vieh laßt in dem Lande bleiben, das euch Mose gegeben hat, diesseit des Jordans; ihr aber sollt vor euren Brüdern her ziehen gerüstet, was streitbare Männer sind, und ihnen helfen,(dhs) Jos 1:14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:15 ============ Jos 1:15 until the Lord gives your brothers rest, as He gives you, and they also possess the land which the Lord your God is giving them. Then you shall return to your own land, and possess that which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise."(nasb) Jos 1:15 ἕως ἂν καταπαύσῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ὥσπερ καὶ ὑμᾶς καὶ κληρονομήσωσιν καὶ οὗτοι τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἀπελεύσεσθε ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ ἣν δέδωκεν ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς εἰς τὸ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἀπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου (lxx) Jos 1:15 donec det Dominus requiem fratribus vestris sicut et vobis dedit, et possideant ipsi quoque terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est eis: et sic revertimini in terram possessionis vestræ, et habitabitis in ea, quam vobis dedit Moyses famulus Domini trans Jordanem contra solis ortum.~(vulgate) Jos 1:15 bis daß der HERR eure Brüder auch zur Ruhe bringt wie euch, daß sie auch einnehmen das Land, das ihnen der HERR, euer Gott, geben wird. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord's servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrise."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:16 ============ Jos 1:16 They answered Joshua, saying, "All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.(nasb) Jos 1:16 καὶ ἀποκριθέντες τῷ Ἰησοῖ εἶπαν πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλῃ ἡμῖν ποιήσομεν καὶ εἰς πάντα τόπον οὗ ἐὰν ἀποστείλῃς ἡμᾶς πορευσόμεθα (lxx) Jos 1:16 Responderuntque ad Josue, atque dixerunt: Omnia quæ præcepisti nobis, faciemus: et quocumque miseris, ibimus.(vulgate) Jos 1:16 Und sie antworteten Josua und sprachen: Alles, was du uns geboten hast, das wollen wir tun; und wo du uns hinsendest, da wollen wir hin gehen.(dhs) Jos 1:16 So they answered Joshua, saying, "All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:17 ============ Jos 1:17 Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you; only may the Lord your God be with you as He was with Moses.(nasb) Jos 1:17 κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἠκούσαμεν Μωυσῆ ἀκουσόμεθα σοῦ πλὴν ἔστω κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν μετὰ σοῦ ὃν τρόπον ἦν μετὰ Μωυσῆ (lxx) Jos 1:17 Sicut obedivimus in cunctis Moysi, ita obediemus et tibi: tantum sit Dominus Deus tuus tecum, sicut fuit cum Moyse.(vulgate) Jos 1:17 Wie wir Mose gehorsam sind gewesen, so wollen wir dir auch gehorsam sein; allein, daß der HERR, dein Gott, nur mit dir sei, wie er mit Mose war.(dhs) Jos 1:17 Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 1:18 ============ Jos 1:18 Anyone who rebels against your command and does not obey your words in all that you command him, shall be put to death; only be strong and courageous."(nasb) Jos 1:18 ὁ δὲ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἐὰν ἀπειθήσῃ σοι καὶ ὅστις μὴ ἀκούσῃ τῶν ῥημάτων σου καθότι ἂν αὐτῷ ἐντείλῃ ἀποθανέτω ἀλλὰ ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου (lxx) Jos 1:18 Qui contradixerit ori tuo, et non obedierit cunctis sermonibus, quos præceperis ei, moriatur. Tu tantum confortare, et viriliter age.(vulgate) Jos 1:18 Wer deinem Mund ungehorsam ist und nicht gehorcht deinen Worten in allem, was du uns gebietest, der soll sterben. Sei nur getrost und unverzagt!(dhs) Jos 1:18 Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death.
