Today's Date: ======= 2 Kings 9:1 ============ 2Ki 9:1 Now Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, "Gird up your loins, and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramoth-gilead.(nasb) 2Ki 9:1 καὶ Ελισαιε ὁ προφήτης ἐκάλεσεν ἕνα τῶν υἱῶν τῶν προφητῶν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ζῶσαι τὴν ὀσφύν σου καὶ λαβὲ τὸν φακὸν τοῦ ἐλαίου τούτου ἐν τῇ χειρί σου καὶ δεῦρο εἰς Ρεμμωθ Γαλααδ (lxx) 2Ki 9:1 Eliseus autem prophetes vocavit unum de filiis prophetarum, et ait illi: Accinge lumbos tuos, et tolle lenticulam olei hanc in manu tua, et vade in Ramoth Galaad.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:1 Elisa aber, der Prophet, rief der Propheten Kinder einen und sprach zu ihm: Gürte deine Lenden und nimm diesen Ölkrug mit dir und gehe hin gen Ramoth in Gilead.(dhs) 2Ki 9:1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, "Get yourself ready, take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:2 ============ 2Ki 9:2 When you arrive there, search out Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and bid him arise from among his brothers, and bring him to an inner room.(nasb) 2Ki 9:2 καὶ εἰσελεύσῃ ἐκεῖ καὶ ὄψῃ ἐκεῖ Ιου υἱὸν Ιωσαφατ υἱοῦ Ναμεσσι καὶ εἰσελεύσῃ καὶ ἀναστήσεις αὐτὸν ἐκ μέσου τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰσάξεις αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ ταμίειον ἐν τῷ ταμιείῳ (lxx) 2Ki 9:2 Cumque veneris illuc, videbis Jehu filium Josaphat filii Namsi: et ingressus suscitabis eum de medio fratrum suorum, et introduces in interius cubiculum.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:2 Und wenn du dahin kommst, wirst du daselbst sehen Jehu, den Sohn Josaphats, des Sohnes Nimsis. Und gehe hinein und heiß ihn aufstehen unter seinen Brüdern und führe ihn in die innerste Kammer(dhs) 2Ki 9:2 Now when you arrive at that place, look there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from among his associates, and take him to an inner room.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:3 ============ 2Ki 9:3 Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, 'Thus says the Lord, "I have anointed you king over Israel."' Then open the door and flee and do not wait."(nasb) 2Ki 9:3 καὶ λήμψῃ τὸν φακὸν τοῦ ἐλαίου καὶ ἐπιχεεῖς ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος κέχρικά σε εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀνοίξεις τὴν θύραν καὶ φεύξῃ καὶ οὐ μενεῖς (lxx) 2Ki 9:3 Tenensque lenticulam olei, fundes super caput ejus, et dices: Hæc dicit Dominus: Unxi te regem super Israël. Aperiesque ostium, et fugies, et non ibi subsistes.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:3 und nimm den Ölkrug und schütte es auf sein Haupt und sprich: So sagt der HERR: Ich habe dich zum König über Israel gesalbt. Und sollst die Tür auftun und fliehen und nicht verziehen.(dhs) 2Ki 9:3 Then take the flask of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, 'Thus says the Lord: "I have anointed you king over Israel." And Jehu said, "For which one of us?" And he said, "For you, O captain."(nasb) 2Ki 9:5 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν καὶ ἰδοὺ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς δυνάμεως ἐκάθηντο καὶ εἶπεν λόγος μοι πρὸς σέ ὁ ἄρχων καὶ εἶπεν Ιου πρὸς τίνα ἐκ πάντων ἡμῶν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς σέ ὁ ἄρχων (lxx) 2Ki 9:5 et ingressus est illuc: ecce autem principes exercitus sedebant: et ait: Verbum mihi ad te, o princeps. Er aber schüttete das Öl auf sein Haupt und sprach zu ihm: So sagt der HERR, der Gott Israels: Ich habe dich zum König gesalbt über das Volk Israel.(dhs) 2Ki 9:6 Then he arose and went into the house. Then he opened the door and fled.(nasb) 2Ki 9:10 καὶ τὴν Ιεζαβελ καταφάγονται οἱ κύνες ἐν τῇ μερίδι Ιεζραελ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ θάπτων καὶ ἤνοιξεν τὴν θύραν καὶ ἔφυγεν (lxx) 2Ki 9:10 Jezabel quoque comedent canes in agro Jezrahel, nec erit qui sepeliat eam. Aperuitque ostium, et fugit.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:10 Und die Hunde sollen Isebel fressen auf dem Acker zu Jesreel, und soll sie niemand begraben. Und er tat die Tür auf und floh.(dhs) 2Ki 9:10 The dogs shall eat Jezebel on the plot of ground at Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.' " And he opened the door and fled.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:11 ============ 2Ki 9:11 Now Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, "Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?" And he said to them, "You know very well the man and his talk."(nasb) 2Ki 9:11 καὶ Ιου ἐξῆλθεν πρὸς τοὺς παῖδας τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ εἰ εἰρήνη τί ὅτι εἰσῆλθεν ὁ ἐπίλημπτος οὗτος πρὸς σέ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς οἴδατε τὸν ἄνδρα καὶ τὴν ἀδολεσχίαν αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ki 9:11 Jehu autem egressus est ad servos domini sui: qui dixerunt ei: Rectene sunt omnia? quid venit insanus iste ad te? Qui ait eis: Nostis hominem, et quid locutus sit.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:11 Und da Jehu herausging zu den Knechten seines Herrn, sprach man zu ihm: Steht es wohl? Warum ist dieser Rasende zu dir gekommen? Er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr kennt doch den Mann wohl und was er sagt.(dhs) 2Ki 9:11 Then Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, "Is all well? Why did this madman come to you?" And he said to them, "You know the man and his babble."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:12 ============ 2Ki 9:12 They said, "It is a lie, tell us now." And he said, "Thus and thus he said to me, 'Thus says the Lord, "I have anointed you king over Israel."'"(nasb) 2Ki 9:12 καὶ εἶπον ἄδικον ἀπάγγειλον δὴ ἡμῖν καὶ εἶπεν Ιου πρὸς αὐτούς οὕτως καὶ οὕτως ἐλάλησεν πρός με λέγων τάδε λέγει κύριος κέχρικά σε εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Ki 9:12 At ille responderunt: Falsum est, sed magis narra nobis. Qui ait eis: Hæc et hæc locutus est mihi, et ait: Hæc dicit Dominus: Unxi te regem super Israël.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:12 Sie sprachen: Das ist nicht wahr; sage es uns aber an! So he said, "Thus and thus he spoke to me, saying, 'Thus says the Lord: "I have anointed you king over Israel." ' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:13 ============ 2Ki 9:13 Then they hurried and each man took his garment and placed it under him on the bare steps, and blew the trumpet, saying, "Jehu is king!"(nasb) 2Ki 9:13 καὶ ἀκούσαντες ἔσπευσαν καὶ ἔλαβον ἕκαστος τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθηκαν ὑποκάτω αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ γαρεμ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν καὶ ἐσάλπισαν ἐν κερατίνῃ καὶ εἶπον ἐβασίλευσεν Ιου (lxx) 2Ki 9:13 Festinaverunt itaque, et unusquisque tollens pallium suum posuerunt sub pedibus ejus in similitudinem tribunalis, et cecinerunt tuba, atque dixerunt: Regnavit Jehu.~(vulgate) 2Ki 9:13 Da eilten sie und nahm ein jeglicher sein Kleid und legte unter ihn auf die hohen Stufen und bliesen mit der Posaune und sprachen: Jehu ist König geworden!(dhs) 2Ki 9:13 Then each man hastened to take his garment and put it under him on the top of the steps; and they blew trumpets, saying, "Jehu is king!"(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:14 ============ 2Ki 9:14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram with all Israel was defending Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Aram,(nasb) 2Ki 9:14 καὶ συνεστράφη Ιου υἱὸς Ιωσαφατ υἱοῦ Ναμεσσι πρὸς Ιωραμ καὶ Ιωραμ αὐτὸς ἐφύλασσεν ἐν Ρεμμωθ Γαλααδ αὐτὸς καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἀπὸ προσώπου Αζαηλ βασιλέως Συρίας (lxx) 2Ki 9:14 Conjuravit ergo Jehu filius Josaphat filii Namsi contra Joram: porro Joram obsederat Ramoth Galaad, ipse et omnis Israël contra Hazaël regem Syriæ:(vulgate) 2Ki 9:14 Also machte Jehu, der Sohn Nimsis, einen Bund wider Joram. Joram aber hatte mit ganz Israel vor Ramoth in Gilead gelegen wider Hasael, den König von Syrien.(dhs) 2Ki 9:14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had been defending Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, against Hazael king of Syria.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:15 ============ 2Ki 9:15 but King Joram had returned to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him when he fought with Hazael king of Aram. So Jehu said, "If this is your mind, then let no one escape or leave the city to go tell it in Jezreel."(nasb) 2Ki 9:15 καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Ιωραμ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἰατρευθῆναι ἐν Ιεζραελ ἀπὸ τῶν πληγῶν ὧν ἔπαισαν αὐτὸν οἱ Σύροι ἐν τῷ πολεμεῖν αὐτὸν μετὰ Αζαηλ βασιλέως Συρίας καὶ εἶπεν Ιου εἰ ἔστιν ἡ ψυχὴ ὑμῶν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ μὴ ἐξελθέτω ἐκ τῆς πόλεως διαπεφευγὼς τοῦ πορευθῆναι καὶ ἀπαγγεῖλαι ἐν Ιεζραελ (lxx) 2Ki 9:15 et reversus fuerat ut curaretur in Jezrahel propter vulnera, quia percusserant eum Syri præliantem contra Hazaël regem Syriæ. Dixitque Jehu: Si placet vobis, nemo egrediatur profugus de civitate, ne vadat, et nuntiet in Jezrahel.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:15 Und Joram der König war wiedergekommen, daß er sich heilen ließ zu Jesreel von den Wunden, die ihm die Syrer geschlagen hatten, da er stritt mit Hasael, dem König von Syrien. Und Jehu sprach: Ist's euer Wille, so soll niemand entrinnen aus der Stadt, daß er hingehe und es ansage zu Jesreel.(dhs) 2Ki 9:15 But King Joram had returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which the Syrians had inflicted on him when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, "If you are so minded, let no one leave or escape from the city to go and tell it in Jezreel."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:16 ============ 2Ki 9:16 Then Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram was lying there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.(nasb) 2Ki 9:16 καὶ ἵππευσεν καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ιου καὶ κατέβη εἰς Ιεζραελ ὅτι Ιωραμ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ἐθεραπεύετο ἐν Ιεζραελ ἀπὸ τῶν τοξευμάτων ὧν κατετόξευσαν αὐτὸν οἱ Αραμιν ἐν τῇ Ραμμαθ ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ μετὰ Αζαηλ βασιλέως Συρίας ὅτι αὐτὸς δυνατὸς καὶ ἀνὴρ δυνάμεως καὶ Οχοζιας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα κατέβη ἰδεῖν τὸν Ιωραμ (lxx) 2Ki 9:16 Et ascendit, et profectus est in Jezrahel: Joram enim ægrotabat ibi, et Ochozias rex Juda descenderat ad visitandum Joram.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:16 Und er fuhr und zog gen Jesreel, denn Joram lag daselbst; so war Ahasja, der König Juda's, hinabgezogen, Joram zu besuchen.(dhs) 2Ki 9:16 So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram was laid up there; and Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:17 ============ 2Ki 9:17 Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel and he saw the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company." And Joram said, "Take a horseman and send him to meet them and let him say, 'Is it peace?'"(nasb) 2Ki 9:17 καὶ ὁ σκοπὸς ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὸν πύργον ἐν Ιεζραελ καὶ εἶδεν τὸν κονιορτὸν Ιου ἐν τῷ παραγίνεσθαι αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν Κονιορτὸν ἐγὼ βλέπω καὶ εἶπεν Ιωραμ λαβὲ ἐπιβάτην καὶ ἀπόστειλον ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν καὶ εἰπάτω εἰ εἰρήνη (lxx) 2Ki 9:17 Igitur speculator qui stabat super turrim Jezrahel, vidit globum Jehu venientis, et ait: Video ego globum. Dixitque Joram: Tolle currum, et mitte in occursum eorum, et dicat vadens: Rectene sunt omnia?(vulgate) 2Ki 9:17 Der Wächter aber, der auf dem Turm zu Jesreel stand, sah den Haufen Jehus kommen und sprach: Ich sehe einen Haufen. And Joram said, "Get a horseman and send him to meet them, and let him say, 'Is it peace?' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:18 ============ 2Ki 9:18 So a horseman went to meet him and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu said, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me." And the watchman reported, "The messenger came to them, but he did not return."(nasb) 2Ki 9:18 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐπιβάτης ἵππου εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ εἰρήνη καὶ εἶπεν Ιου τί σοι καὶ εἰρήνῃ ἐπίστρεφε εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω μου καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν ὁ σκοπὸς λέγων ἦλθεν ὁ ἄγγελος ἕως αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστρεψεν (lxx) 2Ki 9:18 Abiit ergo qui ascenderat currum, in occursum ejus, et ait: Hæc dicit rex: Pacatane sunt omnia? Dixitque Jehu: Quid tibi et paci? transi, et sequere me. Nuntiavit quoque speculator, dicens: Venit nuntius ad eos, et non revertitur.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:18 Und der Reiter ritt hin ihm entgegen und sprach: So sagt der König: Ist's Friede? Jehu sprach: Was geht dich der Friede an? Wende dich hinter mich! Der Wächter verkündigte und sprach: Der Bote ist zu ihnen gekommen und kommt nicht wieder.(dhs) 2Ki 9:18 So the horseman went to meet him, and said, "Thus says the king: 'Is it peace?' " And Jehu said, "What have you to do with peace? Turn around and follow me." So the watchman reported, saying, "The messenger went to them, but is not coming back."(nkjv) ======= 2 Kings 9:19 ============ 2Ki 9:19 Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu answered, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me."(nasb) 2Ki 9:19 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἐπιβάτην ἵππου δεύτερον καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ εἰρήνη καὶ εἶπεν Ιου τί σοι καὶ εἰρήνῃ ἐπιστρέφου εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω μου (lxx) 2Ki 9:19 Misit etiam currum equorum secundum: venitque ad eos, et ait: Hæc dicit rex: Numquid pax est? Et ait Jehu: Quid tibi et paci? transi, et sequere me.(vulgate) 2Ki 9:19 Da sandte er einen andern Reiter. Da der zu ihnen kam, sprach er: So spricht der König: Ist's Friede?
