Today's Date: ======= 2 Chronicles 2:1 ============ 2Ch 2:1 Now Solomon decided to build a house for the name of the Lord and a royal palace for himself.(nasb) 2Ch 2:1 καὶ συνήγαγεν Σαλωμων ἑβδομήκοντα χιλιάδας ἀνδρῶν καὶ ὀγδοήκοντα χιλιάδας λατόμων ἐν τῷ ὄρει καὶ οἱ ἐπιστάται ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν τρισχίλιοι ἑξακόσιοι (lxx) 2Ch 2:1 Decrevit autem Salomon ædificare domum nomini Domini, et palatium sibi.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:1 Und Salomo gedachte zu bauen ein Haus dem Namen des HERRN und ein Haus seines Königreichs.(dhs) 2Ch 2:1 Then Solomon determined to build a temple for the name of the Lord, and a royal house for himself.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:2 ============ 2Ch 2:2 So Solomon assigned 70,000 men to carry loads and 80,000 men to quarry stone in the mountains and 3,600 to supervise them.(nasb) 2Ch 2:2 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Σαλωμων πρὸς Χιραμ βασιλέα Τύρου λέγων ὡς ἐποίησας μετὰ τοῦ πατρός μου Δαυιδ καὶ ἀπέστειλας αὐτῷ κέδρους τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι ἑαυτῷ οἶκον κατοικῆσαι ἐν αὐτῷ (lxx) 2Ch 2:2 Et numeravit septuaginta millia virorum portantium humeris, et octoginta millia qui cæderent lapides in montibus, præpositosque eorum tria millia sexcentos.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:2 Und Salomo zählte ab siebzigtausend, die da Last trugen, und achtzigtausend, die da Steine hieben auf dem Berge, und dreitausend und sechshundert Aufseher über sie.(dhs) 2Ch 2:2 Solomon selected seventy thousand men to bear burdens, eighty thousand to quarry stone in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred to oversee them.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:3 ============ 2Ch 2:3 Then Solomon sent word to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, "As you dealt with David my father and sent him cedars to build him a house to dwell in, so do for me.(nasb) 2Ch 2:3 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ οἰκοδομῶ οἶκον τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου θεοῦ μου ἁγιάσαι αὐτὸν αὐτῷ τοῦ θυμιᾶν ἀπέναντι αὐτοῦ θυμίαμα καὶ πρόθεσιν διὰ παντὸς καὶ τοῦ ἀναφέρειν ὁλοκαυτώματα διὰ παντὸς τὸ πρωὶ καὶ τὸ δείλης καὶ ἐν τοῖς σαββάτοις καὶ ἐν ταῖς νουμηνίαις καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἑορταῖς τοῦ κυρίου θεοῦ ἡμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦτο ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Ch 2:3 Misit quoque ad Hiram regem Tyri, dicens: Sicut egisti cum David patre meo, et misisti ei ligna cedrina ut ædificaret sibi domum, in qua et habitavit:(vulgate) 2Ch 2:3 Und Salomo sandte zu Huram, dem König zu Tyrus, und ließ ihm sagen: Wie du mit meinem Vater David tatest und ihm sandtest Zedern, daß er sich ein Haus baute, darin er wohnte.(dhs) 2Ch 2:3 Then Solomon sent to Hiram king of Tyre, saying: As you have dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build himself a house to dwell in, so deal with me.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:4 ============ 2Ch 2:4 Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, dedicating it to Him, to burn fragrant incense before Him and to set out the showbread continually, and to offer burnt offerings morning and evening, on sabbaths and on new moons and on the appointed feasts of the Lord our God, this being required forever in Israel.(nasb) 2Ch 2:4 καὶ ὁ οἶκος ὃν ἐγὼ οἰκοδομῶ μέγας ὅτι μέγας ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν παρὰ πάντας τοὺς θεούς (lxx) 2Ch 2:4 sic fac mecum ut ædificem domum nomini Domini Dei mei, ut consecrem eam ad adolendum incensum coram illo, et fumiganda aromata, et ad propositionem panum sempiternam, et ad holocautomata mane, et vespere, sabbatis quoque, et neomeniis, et solemnitatibus Domini Dei nostri in sempiternum, quæ mandata sunt Israëli.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:4 Siehe, ich will dem Namen des HERRN, meines Gottes, ein Haus bauen, das ihm geheiligt werde, gutes Räuchwerk vor ihm zu räuchern und Schaubrote allewege zuzurichten und Brandopfer des Morgens und des Abends auf die Sabbate und Neumonde und auf die Feste des HERRN, unsers Gottes, ewiglich für Israel.(dhs) 2Ch 2:4 Behold, I am building a temple for the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to Him, to burn before Him sweet incense, for the continual showbread, for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, on the New Moons, and on the set feasts of the Lord our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:5 ============ 2Ch 2:5 The house which I am about to build will be great, for greater is our God than all the gods.(nasb) 2Ch 2:5 καὶ τίς ἰσχύσει οἰκοδομῆσαι αὐτῷ οἶκον ὅτι ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ὁ οὐρανὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οὐ φέρουσιν αὐτοῦ τὴν δόξαν καὶ τίς ἐγὼ οἰκοδομῶν αὐτῷ οἶκον ὅτι ἀλλ᾽ ἢ τοῦ θυμιᾶν κατέναντι αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 2:5 Domus enim quam ædificare cupio, magna est: magnus est enim Deus noster super omnes deos.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:5 Und das Haus, das ich bauen will soll groß sein; denn unser Gott ist größer als alle Götter.(dhs) 2Ch 2:5 And the temple which I build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:6 ============ 2Ch 2:6 But who is able to build a house for Him, for the heavens and the highest heavens cannot contain Him? So who am I, that I should build a house for Him, except to burn incense before Him?(nasb) 2Ch 2:6 καὶ νῦν ἀπόστειλόν μοι ἄνδρα σοφὸν καὶ εἰδότα τοῦ ποιῆσαι ἐν τῷ χρυσίῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ ἀργυρίῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ χαλκῷ καὶ ἐν τῷ σιδήρῳ καὶ ἐν τῇ πορφύρᾳ καὶ ἐν τῷ κοκκίνῳ καὶ ἐν τῇ ὑακίνθῳ καὶ ἐπιστάμενον γλύψαι γλυφὴν μετὰ τῶν σοφῶν τῶν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐν Ιουδα καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ὧν ἡτοίμασεν Δαυιδ ὁ πατήρ μου (lxx) 2Ch 2:6 Quis ergo poterit prævalere, ut ædificet ei dignam domum? si cælum, et cæli cælorum, capere eum nequeunt, quantus ego sum, ut possim ædificare ei domum? sed ad hoc tantum, ut adoleatur incensum coram illo.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:6 Aber wer vermag's, daß er ihm ein Haus baue? denn der Himmel und aller Himmel Himmel können ihn nicht fassen. Wer sollte ich denn sein, daß ich ihm ein Haus baute? es sei denn um vor ihm zu räuchern.(dhs) 2Ch 2:6 But who is able to build Him a temple, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple, except to burn sacrifice before Him?(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:7 ============ 2Ch 2:7 Now send me a skilled man to work in gold, silver, brass and iron, and in purple, crimson and violet fabrics, and who knows how to make engravings, to work with the skilled men whom I have in Judah and Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.(nasb) 2Ch 2:7 καὶ ἀπόστειλόν μοι ξύλα κέδρινα καὶ ἀρκεύθινα καὶ πεύκινα ἐκ τοῦ Λιβάνου ὅτι ἐγὼ οἶδα ὡς οἱ δοῦλοί σου οἴδασιν κόπτειν ξύλα ἐκ τοῦ Λιβάνου καὶ ἰδοὺ οἱ παῖδές σου μετὰ τῶν παίδων μου (lxx) 2Ch 2:7 Mitte ergo mihi virum eruditum, qui noverit operari in auro, et argento, ære, et ferro, purpura, coccino, et hyacintho: et qui sciat sculpere cælaturas cum his artificibus quos mecum habeo in Judæa, et Jerusalem, quos præparavit David pater meus.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:7 So sende mir nun einen weisen Mann, zu arbeiten mit Gold, Silber, Erz, Eisen, rotem Purpur, Scharlach und blauem Purpur und der da wisse einzugraben mit den Weisen, die bei mir sind in Juda und Jerusalem, welche mein Vater David bestellt hat.(dhs) 2Ch 2:7 Therefore send me at once a man skillful to work in gold and silver, in bronze and iron, in purple and crimson and blue, who has skill to engrave with the skillful men who are with me in Judah and Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:8 ============ 2Ch 2:8 Send me also cedar, cypress and algum timber from Lebanon, for I know that your servants know how to cut timber of Lebanon; and indeed my servants will work with your servants,(nasb) 2Ch 2:8 πορεύσονται ἑτοιμάσαι μοι ξύλα εἰς πλῆθος ὅτι ὁ οἶκος ὃν ἐγὼ οἰκοδομῶ μέγας καὶ ἔνδοξος (lxx) 2Ch 2:8 Sed et ligna cedrina mitte mihi, et arceuthina, et pinea de Libano: scio enim quod servi tui noverint cædere ligna de Libano: et erunt servi mei cum servis tuis,(vulgate) 2Ch 2:8 Und sende mir Zedern-,Tannen-und Sandelholz vom Libanon; denn ich weiß, daß deine Knechte das Holz zu hauen wissen auf dem Libanon. Und siehe, meine Knechte sollen mit deinen Knechten sein,(dhs) 2Ch 2:8 Also send me cedar and cypress and algum logs from Lebanon, for I know that your servants have skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and indeed my servants will be with your servants,(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:9 ============ 2Ch 2:9 to prepare timber in abundance for me, for the house which I am about to build will be great and wonderful.(nasb) 2Ch 2:9 καὶ ἰδοὺ τοῖς ἐργαζομένοις τοῖς κόπτουσιν ξύλα εἰς βρώματα δέδωκα σῖτον εἰς δόματα τοῖς παισίν σου κόρων εἴκοσι χιλιάδας καὶ κριθῶν κόρων εἴκοσι χιλιάδας καὶ οἴνου μέτρων εἴκοσι χιλιάδας καὶ ἐλαίου μέτρων εἴκοσι χιλιάδας (lxx) 2Ch 2:9 ut parentur mihi ligna plurima. Domus enim quam cupio ædificare, magna est nimis, et inclyta.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:9 daß man mir viel Holz zubereite; denn das Haus, das ich bauen will, soll groß und sonderlich sein.(dhs) 2Ch 2:9 to prepare timber for me in abundance, for the temple which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:10 ============ 2Ch 2:10 Now behold, I will give to your servants, the woodsmen who cut the timber, 20,000 kors of crushed wheat and 20,000 kors of barley, and 20,000 baths of wine and 20,000 baths of oil."(nasb) 2Ch 2:10 καὶ εἶπεν Χιραμ βασιλεὺς Τύρου ἐν γραφῇ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς Σαλωμων ἐν τῷ ἀγαπῆσαι κύριον τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἔδωκέν σε ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς εἰς βασιλέα (lxx) 2Ch 2:10 Præterea operariis qui cæsuri sunt ligna, servis tuis, dabo in cibaria tritici coros viginti millia, et hordei coros totidem, et vini viginti millia metretas, olei quoque sata viginti millia.~(vulgate) 2Ch 2:10 Und siehe, ich will den Zimmerleuten, deinen Knechten, die das Holz hauen, zwanzigtausend Kor Gerste und zwanzigtausend Kor Weizen und zwanzigtausend Bath Wein und zwanzigtausend Bath Öl geben.(dhs) 2Ch 2:10 And indeed I will give to your servants, the woodsmen who cut timber, twenty thousand kors of ground wheat, twenty thousand kors of barley, twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:11 ============ 2Ch 2:11 Then Huram, king of Tyre, answered in a letter sent to Solomon: "Because the Lord loves His people, He has made you king over them."(nasb) 2Ch 2:11 καὶ εἶπεν Χιραμ εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ὃς ἐποίησεν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν ὃς ἔδωκεν τῷ Δαυιδ τῷ βασιλεῖ υἱὸν σοφὸν καὶ ἐπιστάμενον σύνεσιν καὶ ἐπιστήμην ὃς οἰκοδομήσει οἶκον τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ οἶκον τῇ βασιλείᾳ αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 2:11 Dixit autem Hiram rex Tyri per litteras quas miserat Salomoni: Quia dilexit Dominus populum suum, idcirco te regnare fecit super eum.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:11 Da sprach Huram, der König zu Tyrus, durch Schrift und sandte zu Salomo: Darum daß der HERR sein Volk liebt, hat er dich über sie zum König gemacht.(dhs) 2Ch 2:11 Then Hiram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: Because the Lord loves His people, He has made you king over them.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:12 ============ 2Ch 2:12 Then Huram continued, "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who has made heaven and earth, who has given King David a wise son, endowed with discretion and understanding, who will build a house for the Lord and a royal palace for himself.(nasb) 2Ch 2:12 καὶ νῦν ἀπέσταλκά σοι ἄνδρα σοφὸν καὶ εἰδότα σύνεσιν τὸν Χιραμ τὸν πατέρα μου (lxx) 2Ch 2:12 Et addidit, dicens: Benedictus Dominus Deus Israël, qui fecit cælum et terram: qui dedit David regi filium sapientem et eruditum et sensatum atque prudentem, ut ædificaret domum Domino, et palatium sibi.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:12 Und Huram sprach weiter: Gelobt sei der HERR, der Gott Israels, der da Himmel und Erde gemacht hat, daß er dem König David hat einen weisen, klugen und verständigen Sohn gegeben, der dem HERRN ein Haus baue und ein Haus seines Königreichs.(dhs) 2Ch 2:12 Hiram also said: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, for He has given King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, who will build a temple for the Lord and a royal house for himself!(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:13 ἐν ἀργυρίῳ καὶ ἐν χαλκῷ καὶ ἐν σιδήρῳ ἐν λίθοις καὶ ξύλοις καὶ ὑφαίνειν ἐν τῇ πορφύρᾳ καὶ ἐν τῇ ὑακίνθῳ καὶ ἐν τῇ βύσσῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ κοκκίνῳ καὶ γλύψαι γλυφὰς καὶ διανοεῖσθαι πᾶσαν διανόησιν ὅσα ἂν δῷς the son of a Danite woman and a Tyrian father, who knows how to work in gold, silver, bronze, iron, stone and wood, and in purple, violet, linen and crimson fabrics, and who knows how to make all kinds of engravings and to execute any design which may be assigned to him, to work with your skilled men and with those of my lord David your father.(nasb) 2Ch 2:14 καὶ νῦν τὸν σῖτον καὶ τὴν κριθὴν καὶ τὸ ἔλαιον καὶ τὸν οἶνον ἃ εἶπεν ὁ κύριός μου ἀποστειλάτω τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 2:14 filium mulieris de filiabus Dan, cujus pater fuit Tyrius, qui novit operari in auro, et argento, ære, et ferro, et marmore, et lignis, in purpura quoque, et hyacintho, et bysso, et coccino: et qui scit cælare omnem sculpturam, et adinvenire prudenter quodcumque in opere necessarium est cum artificibus 2:15 καὶ ἡμεῖς κόψομεν ξύλα ἐκ τοῦ Λιβάνου κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν χρείαν σου καὶ ἄξομεν αὐτὰ σχεδίαις ἐπὶ θάλασσαν Ιόππης καὶ σὺ ἄξεις αὐτὰ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Ch 2:15 Triticum ergo, et hordeum, et oleum, et vinum, quæ pollicitus es, domine mi, mitte servis tuis.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:15 So sende nun mein Herr Weizen, Gerste, Öl und Wein seinen Knechten, wie er geredet hat;(dhs) 2Ch 2:15 Now therefore, the wheat, the barley, the oil, and the wine which my lord has spoken of, let him send to his servants.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:16 ============ 2Ch 2:16 We will cut whatever timber you need from Lebanon and bring it to you on rafts by sea to Joppa, so that you may carry it up to Jerusalem."(nasb) 2Ch 2:16 καὶ συνήγαγεν Σαλωμων πάντας τοὺς ἄνδρας τοὺς προσηλύτους ἐν γῇ Ισραηλ μετὰ τὸν ἀριθμόν ὃν ἠρίθμησεν αὐτοὺς Δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ καὶ εὑρέθησαν ἑκατὸν πεντήκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ τρισχίλιοι ἑξακόσιοι (lxx) 2Ch 2:16 Nos autem cædemus ligna de Libano, quot necessaria habueris, et applicabimus ea ratibus per mare in Joppe: tuum autem erit transferre ea in Jerusalem.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:16 so wollen wir das Holz hauen auf dem Libanon, wieviel es not ist, und wollen's auf Flößen bringen im Meer gen Japho; von da magst du es hinauf gen Jerusalem bringen.(dhs) 2Ch 2:16 And we will cut wood from Lebanon, as much as you need; we will bring it to you in rafts by sea to Joppa, and you will carry it up to Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 2:17 ============ 2Ch 2:17 Solomon numbered all the aliens who were in the land of Israel, following the census which his father David had taken; and 153,600 were found.(nasb) 2Ch 2:17 καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐξ αὐτῶν ἑβδομήκοντα χιλιάδας νωτοφόρων καὶ ὀγδοήκοντα χιλιάδας λατόμων καὶ τρισχιλίους ἑξακοσίους ἐργοδιώκτας ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν (lxx) 2Ch 2:17 Numeravit igitur Salomon omnes viros proselytos qui erant in terra Israël, post dinumerationem quam dinumeravit David pater ejus, et inventi sunt centum quinquaginta millia, et tria millia sexcenti.(vulgate) 2Ch 2:17 Und Salomo zählte alle Fremdlinge im Lande Israel nach dem, daß David, sein Vater, sie gezählt hatte; und wurden gefunden hundert und fünfzigtausend dreitausend und sechshundert.(dhs) 2Ch 2:17 Then
