sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:15 ============ Ezr 8:15 Now I assembled them at the river that runs to Ahava, where we camped for three days; and when I observed the people and the priests, I did not find any Levites there.(nasb) Ezr 8:15 καὶ συνῆξα αὐτοὺς πρὸς τὸν ποταμὸν τὸν ἐρχόμενον πρὸς τὸν Ευι καὶ παρενεβάλομεν ἐκεῖ ἡμέρας τρεῖς καὶ συνῆκα ἐν τῷ λαῷ καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν καὶ ἀπὸ υἱῶν Λευι οὐχ εὗρον ἐκεῖ (lxx) Ezr 8:15 Congregavi autem eos ad fluvium qui decurrit ad Ahava, et mansimus ibi tribus diebus: quæsivique in populo et in sacerdotibus de filiis Levi, et non inveni ibi.(vulgate) Ezr 8:15 Und ich versammelte sie ans Wasser, das gen Ahava kommt; und wir bleiben drei Tage daselbst. Und da ich achthatte aufs Volk und die Priester, fand ich keine Leviten daselbst.(dhs) Ezr 8:15 Now I gathered them by the river that flows to Ahava, and we camped there three days. And I looked among the people and the priests, and found none of the sons of Levi there.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:16 ============ Ezr 8:16 So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah and Meshullam, leading men, and for Joiarib and Elnathan, teachers.(nasb) Ezr 8:16 καὶ ἀπέστειλα τῷ Ελεαζαρ τῷ Αριηλ τῷ Σαμαια καὶ τῷ Αλωναμ καὶ τῷ Ιαριβ καὶ τῷ Ελναθαν καὶ τῷ Ναθαν καὶ τῷ Ζαχαρια καὶ τῷ Μεσουλαμ ἄνδρας καὶ τῷ Ιωαριβ καὶ τῷ Ελναθαν συνίοντας (lxx) Ezr 8:16 Itaque misi Eliezer, et Ariel, et Semeiam, et Elnathan, et Jarib, et alterum Elnathan, et Nathan, et Zachariam, et Mosollam principes: et Jojarib, et Elnathan sapientes.(vulgate) Ezr 8:16 Da sandte ich hin Elieser, Ariel, Semaja, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Sacharja und Mesullam, die Obersten, und Jojarib und Elnathan, die Lehrer,(dhs) Ezr 8:16 Then I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, leaders; also for Joiarib and Elnathan, men of understanding.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:17 ============ Ezr 8:17 I sent them to Iddo the leading man at the place Casiphia; and I told them what to say to Iddo and his brothers, the temple servants at the place Casiphia, that is, to bring ministers to us for the house of our God.(nasb) Ezr 8:17 καὶ ἐξήνεγκα αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ ἄρχοντος ἐν ἀργυρίῳ τοῦ τόπου καὶ ἔθηκα ἐν στόματι αὐτῶν λόγους λαλῆσαι πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτῶν τοὺς ναθινιμ ἐν ἀργυρίῳ τοῦ τόπου τοῦ ἐνέγκαι ἡμῖν ᾄδοντας εἰς οἶκον θεοῦ ἡμῶν (lxx) Ezr 8:17 Et misi eos ad Eddo, qui est primus in Chasphiæ loco, et posui in ore eorum verba, quæ loquerentur ad Eddo, et fratres ejus Nathinæos in loco Chasphiæ, ut adducerent nobis ministros domus Dei nostri.(vulgate) Ezr 8:17 und sandte sie aus zu Iddo, dem Obersten, gen Kasphia, daß sie uns holten Diener für das Haus unsers Gottes. Und ich gab ihnen ein, was sie reden sollten mit Iddo und seinen Brüdern, den Tempelknechten, zu Kasphia.(dhs) Ezr 8:17 And I gave them a command for Iddo the chief man at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say to Iddo and his brethren the Nethinim at the place Casiphia--that they should bring us servants for the house of our God.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:18 ============ Ezr 8:18 According to the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of insight of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, and his sons and brothers, 18 men;(nasb) Ezr 8:18 καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἡμῖν ὡς χεὶρ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἀγαθὴ ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς ἀνὴρ σαχωλ ἀπὸ υἱῶν Μοολι υἱοῦ Λευι υἱοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀρχὴν ἤλθοσαν υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ὀκτωκαίδεκα (lxx) Ezr 8:18 Et adduxerunt nobis per manum Dei nostri bonam super nos, virum doctissimum de filiis Moholi filii Levi, filii Israël, et Sarabiam et filios ejus et fratres ejus decem et octo,(vulgate) Ezr 8:18 Und sie brachten uns, nach der guten Hand unsres Gottes über uns, einen klugen Mann aus den Kindern Maheli, des Sohnes Levis, des Sohnes Israels, und Serebja mit seinen Söhnen und Brüdern, achtzehn,(dhs) Ezr 8:18 Then, by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, with his sons and brothers, eighteen men;(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:19 ============ Ezr 8:19 and Hashabiah and Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, with his brothers and their sons, 20 men;(nasb) Ezr 8:19 καὶ τὸν Ασεβια καὶ τὸν Ωσαιαν ἀπὸ υἱῶν Μεραρι ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν εἴκοσι (lxx) Ezr 8:19 et Hasabiam, et cum eo Isaiam de filiis Merari, fratresque ejus, et filios ejus viginti:(vulgate) Ezr 8:19 und Hasabja und mit ihm Jesaja von den Kindern Merari mit seinen Brüdern und ihren Söhnen, zwanzig,(dhs) Ezr 8:19 and Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brothers and their sons, twenty men;(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:20 ============ Ezr 8:20 and 220 of the temple servants, whom David and the princes had given for the service of the Levites, all of them designated by name.(nasb) Ezr 8:20 καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ναθινιμ ὧν ἔδωκεν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες εἰς δουλείαν τῶν Λευιτῶν ναθινιμ διακόσιοι καὶ εἴκοσι πάντες συνήχθησαν ἐν ὀνόμασιν (lxx) Ezr 8:20 et de Nathinæis, quos dederat David et principes ad ministeria Levitarum, Nathinæos ducentos viginti: omnes hi suis nominibus vocabantur.(vulgate) Ezr 8:20 und von den Tempelknechten, die David und die Fürsten gaben, zu dienen den Leviten, zweihundertundzwanzig, alle mit Namen genannt.(dhs) Ezr 8:20 also of the Nethinim, whom David and the leaders had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinim. All of them were designated by name.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:21 ============ Ezr 8:21 Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our little ones, and all our possessions.(nasb) Ezr 8:21 καὶ ἐκάλεσα ἐκεῖ νηστείαν ἐπὶ τὸν ποταμὸν Αουε τοῦ ταπεινωθῆναι ἐνώπιον θεοῦ ἡμῶν ζητῆσαι παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ὁδὸν εὐθεῖαν ἡμῖν καὶ τοῖς τέκνοις ἡμῶν καὶ πάσῃ τῇ κτήσει ἡμῶν (lxx) Ezr 8:21 Et prædicavi ibi jejunium juxta fluvium Ahava, ut affligeremur coram Domino Deo nostro, et peteremus ab eo viam rectam nobis et filiis nostris, universæque substantiæ nostræ.(vulgate) Ezr 8:21 Und ich ließ daselbst am Wasser bei Ahava ein Fasten ausrufen, daß wir uns demütigten vor unserm Gott, zu suchen von ihm einen richtigen Weg für uns und unsre Kinder und alle unsre Habe.(dhs) Ezr 8:21 Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:22 ============ Ezr 8:22 For I was ashamed to request from the king troops and horsemen to protect us from the enemy on the way, because we had said to the king, "The hand of our God is favorably disposed to all those who seek Him, but His power and His anger are against all those who forsake Him."(nasb) Ezr 8:22 ὅτι ᾐσχύνθην αἰτήσασθαι παρὰ τοῦ βασιλέως δύναμιν καὶ ἱππεῖς σῶσαι ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ ἐχθροῦ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ ὅτι εἴπαμεν τῷ βασιλεῖ λέγοντες χεὶρ τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ζητοῦντας αὐτὸν εἰς ἀγαθόν καὶ κράτος αὐτοῦ καὶ θυμὸς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πάντας ἐγκαταλείποντας αὐτόν (lxx) Ezr 8:22 Erubui enim petere a rege auxilium et equites, qui defenderent nos ab inimico in via: quia dixeramus regi: Manus Dei nostri est super omnes qui quærunt eum in bonitate: et imperium ejus, et fortitudo ejus, et furor, super omnes qui derelinquunt eum.(vulgate) Ezr 8:22 Denn ich schämte mich vom König Geleit und Reiter zu fordern, uns wider die Feinde zu helfen auf dem Wege. All the weight was written down at that time.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:35 ============ Ezr 8:35 The exiles who had come from the captivity offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel: 12 bulls for all Israel, 96 rams, 77 lambs, 12 male goats for a sin offering, all as a burnt offering to the Lord.(nasb) Ezr 8:35 οἱ ἐλθόντες ἀπὸ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας υἱοὶ τῆς παροικίας προσήνεγκαν ὁλοκαυτώσεις τῷ θεῷ Ισραηλ μόσχους δώδεκα περὶ παντὸς Ισραηλ κριοὺς ἐνενήκοντα ἕξ ἀμνοὺς ἑβδομήκοντα καὶ ἑπτά χιμάρους περὶ ἁμαρτίας δώδεκα τὰ πάντα ὁλοκαυτώματα τῷ κυρίῳ (lxx) Ezr 8:35 Sed et qui venerant de captivitate filii transmigrationis, obtulerunt holocautomata Deo Israël, vitulos duodecim pro omni populo Israël, arietes nonaginta sex, agnos septuaginta septem, hircos pro peccato duodecim: omnia in holocaustum Domino.(vulgate) Ezr 8:35 Und die Kinder der Gefangenschaft, die aus der Gefangenschaft gekommen waren, opferten Brandopfer dem Gott Israels: zwölf Farren für das ganze Israel, sechsundneunzig Widder, siebenundsiebzig Lämmer, zwölf Böcke zum Sündopfer, alles zum Brandopfer dem HERRN.(dhs) Ezr 8:35 The children of those who had been carried away captive, who had come from the captivity, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve male goats as a sin offering. All this was a burnt offering to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Ezra 8:36 ============ Ezr 8:36 Then they delivered the king's edicts to the king's satraps and to the governors in the provinces beyond the River, and they supported the people and the house of God.(nasb) Ezr 8:36 καὶ ἔδωκαν τὸ νόμισμα τοῦ βασιλέως τοῖς διοικηταῖς τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἐπάρχοις πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν λαὸν καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ (lxx) Ezr 8:36 Dederunt autem edicta regis satrapis qui erant de conspectu regis, et ducibus trans flumen, et elevaverunt populum et domum Dei.(vulgate) Ezr 8:36 Und sie überantworteten des Königs Befehle den Amtleuten des Königs und den Landpflegern diesseit des Wassers. Und diese halfen dem Volk und dem Hause Gottes.(dhs) Ezr 8:36 And they delivered the king's orders to the king's satraps and the governors in the region beyond the River.
