Today's Date: ======= Genesis 6:1 ============ Gen 6:1 Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them,(nas) Gen 6:1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἤρξαντο οἱ ἄνθρωποι πολλοὶ γίνεσθαι ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ θυγατέρες ἐγενήθησαν αὐτοῖς (lxx) Gen 6:1 Cumque cœpissent homines multiplicari super terram, et filias procreassent,(vulgate) 1 ׃6 וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּֽי־הֵחֵ֣ל הֽ͏ָאָדָ֔ם לָרֹ֖ב עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הֽ͏ָאֲדָמָ֑ה וּבָנ֖וֹת יֻלְּד֥וּ לָהֶֽם׃ Genesis Gen 6:1 Da sich aber die Menschen begannen zu mehren auf Erden und ihnen Töchter geboren wurden,(dhs) Gen 6:1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:2 ============ Gen 6:2 that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.(nas) Gen 6:2 ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ θεοῦ τὰς θυγατέρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὅτι καλαί εἰσιν ἔλαβον ἑαυτοῖς γυναῖκας ἀπὸ πασῶν ὧν ἐξελέξαντο (lxx) Gen 6:2 videntes filii Dei filias hominum quod essent pulchræ, acceperunt sibi uxores ex omnibus, quas elegerant.(vulgate) 2 ׃6 וַיִּרְא֤וּ בְנֵי־הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת־בְּנ֣וֹת הָֽאָדָ֔ם כִּ֥י טֹבֹ֖ת הֵ֑נָּה וַיִּקְח֤וּ לָהֶם֙ נָשִׁ֔ים מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּחָֽרוּ׃ Genesis Gen 6:2 da sahen die Kinder Gottes nach den Töchtern der Menschen, wie sie schön waren, und nahmen zu Weibern, welche sie wollten.(dhs) Gen 6:2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:3 ============ Gen 6:3 Then the Lord said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."(nas) Gen 6:3 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεός οὐ μὴ καταμείνῃ τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τούτοις εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα διὰ τὸ εἶναι αὐτοὺς σάρκας ἔσονται δὲ αἱ ἡμέραι αὐτῶν ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ἔτη (lxx) Gen 6:3 Dixitque Deus: Non permanebit spiritus meus in homine in æternum, quia caro est: eruntque dies illius centum viginti annorum.(vulgate) 3 ׃6 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה לֹֽא־יָד֨וֹן רוּחִ֤י בָֽאָדָם֙ לְעֹלָ֔ם בְּשַׁגַּ֖ם ה֣וּא בָשָׂ֑ר וְהָי֣וּ יָמָ֔יו מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃ Genesis Gen 6:3 Da sprach der HERR: Die Menschen wollen sich von meinem Geist nicht mehr strafen lassen; denn sie sind Fleisch. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.(nas) Gen 6:4 οἱ δὲ γίγαντες ἦσαν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ μετ᾽ ἐκεῖνο ὡς ἂν εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ θεοῦ πρὸς τὰς θυγατέρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ἐγεννῶσαν ἑαυτοῖς ἐκεῖνοι ἦσαν οἱ γίγαντες οἱ ἀπ᾽ αἰῶνος οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ὀνομαστοί (lxx) Gen 6:4 Gigantes autem erant super terram in diebus illis: postquam enim ingressi sunt filii Dei ad filias hominum, illæque genuerunt, isti sunt potentes a sæculo viri famosi.(vulgate) 4 ׃6 הַנְּפִלִ֞ים הָי֣וּ בָאָרֶץ֮ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵם֒ וְגַ֣ם אַֽחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָבֹ֜אוּ בְּנֵ֤י הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־בְּנ֣וֹת הֽ͏ָאָדָ֔ם וְיָלְד֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם הֵ֧מָּה הַגִּבֹּרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר מֵעוֹלָ֖ם אַנְשֵׁ֥י הַשֵּֽׁם׃ פ Genesis Gen 6:4 Es waren auch zu den Zeiten Tyrannen auf Erden; denn da die Kinder Gottes zu den Töchtern der Menschen eingingen und sie ihnen Kinder gebaren, wurden daraus Gewaltige in der Welt und berühmte Männer.(dhs) Gen 6:4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:5 ============ Gen 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.(nas) Gen 6:5 ἰδὼν δὲ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐπληθύνθησαν αἱ κακίαι τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ πᾶς τις διανοεῖται ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἐπιμελῶς ἐπὶ τὰ πονηρὰ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας (lxx) Gen 6:5 Videns autem Deus quod multa malitia hominum esset in terra, et cuncta cogitatio cordis intenta esset ad malum omni tempore,(vulgate) 5 ׃6 וַיַּ֣רְא יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י רַבָּ֛ה רָעַ֥ת הָאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְכָל־יֵ֙צֶר֙ מַחְשְׁבֹ֣ת לִבּ֔וֹ רַ֥ק רַ֖ע כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃ Genesis Gen 6:5 Da aber der HERR sah, daß der Menschen Bosheit groß war auf Erden und alles Dichten und Trachten ihres Herzens nur böse war immerdar,(dhs) Gen 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:6 ============ Gen 6:6 The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.(nas) Gen 6:6 καὶ ἐνεθυμήθη ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ διενοήθη (lxx) Gen 6:6 pœnituit eum quod hominum fecisset in terra. Et tactus dolore cordis intrinsecus,(vulgate) 6 ׃6 וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם יְהוָ֔ה כִּֽי־עָשָׂ֥ה אֶת־הֽ͏ָאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וַיִּתְעַצֵּ֖ב אֶל־לִבּֽוֹ׃ Genesis Gen 6:6 da reute es ihn, daß er die Menschen gemacht hatte auf Erden, und es bekümmerte ihn in seinem Herzen,(dhs) Gen 6:6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:7 ============ Gen 6:7 The Lord said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them."(nas) Gen 6:7 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός ἀπαλείψω τὸν ἄνθρωπον ὃν ἐποίησα ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους καὶ ἀπὸ ἑρπετῶν ἕως τῶν πετεινῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὅτι ἐθυμώθην ὅτι ἐποίησα αὐτούς (lxx) Gen 6:7 Delebo, inquit, hominem, quem creavi, a facie terræ, ab homine usque ad animantia, a reptili usque ad volucres cæli: pœnitet enim me fecisse eos.~(vulgate) 7 ׃6 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה אֶמְחֶ֨ה אֶת־הָאָדָ֤ם אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָ֙אתִי֙ מֵעַל֙ פְּנֵ֣י הֽ͏ָאֲדָמָ֔ה מֽ͏ֵאָדָם֙ עַד־בְּהֵמָ֔ה עַד־רֶ֖מֶשׂ וְעַד־ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם כִּ֥י נִחַ֖מְתִּי כִּ֥י עֲשִׂיתִֽם׃ Genesis Gen 6:7 und er sprach: Ich will die Menschen, die ich gemacht habe, vertilgen von der Erde, vom Menschen an bis auf das Vieh und bis auf das Gewürm und bis auf die Vögel unter dem Himmel; denn es reut mich, daß ich sie gemacht habe.(dhs) Gen 6:7 So the Lord said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:8 ============ Gen 6:8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.(nas) Gen 6:8 Νωε δὲ εὗρεν χάριν ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ (lxx) Gen 6:8 Noë vero invenit gratiam coram Domino.(vulgate) 8 ׃6 וְנֹ֕חַ מָ֥צָא חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ פ Genesis Gen 6:8 Aber Noah fand Gnade vor dem HERRN.(dhs) Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:9 ============ Gen 6:9 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.(nas) Gen 6:9 αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Νωε Νωε ἄνθρωπος δίκαιος τέλειος ὢν ἐν τῇ γενεᾷ αὐτοῦ τῷ θεῷ εὐηρέστησεν Νωε (lxx) Gen 6:9 Hæ sunt generationes Noë: Noë vir justus atque perfectus fuit in generationibus suis; cum Deo ambulavit.(vulgate) 9 ׃6 אֵ֚לֶּה תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת נֹ֔חַ נֹ֗חַ אִ֥ישׁ צַדִּ֛יק תָּמִ֥ים הָיָ֖ה בְּדֹֽרֹתָ֑יו אֶת־הֽ͏ָאֱלֹהִ֖ים הִֽתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹֽחַ׃ Genesis Gen 6:9 Dies ist das Geschlecht Noahs. Noah war ein frommer Mann und ohne Tadel und führte ein göttliches Leben zu seinen Zeiten.(dhs) Gen 6:9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:10 ============ Gen 6:10 Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.(nas) Gen 6:10 ἐγέννησεν δὲ Νωε τρεῖς υἱούς τὸν Σημ τὸν Χαμ τὸν Ιαφεθ (lxx) Gen 6:10 Et genuit tres filios, Sem, Cham et Japheth.(vulgate) 10 ׃6 וַיּ֥וֹלֶד נֹ֖חַ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים אֶת־שֵׁ֖ם אֶת־חָ֥ם וְאֶת־יָֽפֶת׃ Genesis Gen 6:10 und zeugte drei Söhne Sem, Ham und Japheth.(dhs) Gen 6:10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:11 ============ Gen 6:11 Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence.(nas) Gen 6:11 ἐφθάρη δὲ ἡ γῆ ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ἀδικίας (lxx) Gen 6:11 Corrupta est autem terra coram Deo, et repleta est iniquitate.(vulgate) 11 ׃6 וַתִּשָּׁחֵ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ לִפְנֵ֣י הֽ͏ָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַתִּמָּלֵ֥א הָאָ֖רֶץ חָמָֽס׃ Genesis Gen 6:11 Aber die Erde war verderbt vor Gottes Augen und voll Frevels.(dhs) Gen 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:12 ============ Gen 6:12 God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.(nas) Gen 6:12 καὶ εἶδεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τὴν γῆν καὶ ἦν κατεφθαρμένη ὅτι κατέφθειρεν πᾶσα σὰρξ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Gen 6:12 Cumque vidisset Deus terram esse corruptam (omnis quippe caro corruperat viam suam super terram),(vulgate) 12 ׃6 וַיַּ֧רְא אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ וְהִנֵּ֣ה נִשְׁחָ֑תָה כִּֽי־הִשְׁחִ֧ית כָּל־בָּשָׂ֛ר אֶת־דַּרְכּ֖וֹ עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ ס Genesis Gen 6:12 Da sah Gott auf die Erde, und siehe, sie war verderbt; denn alles Fleisch hatte seinen Weg verderbt auf Erden.(dhs) Gen 6:12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:13 ============ Gen 6:13 Then God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.(nas) Gen 6:13 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Νωε καιρὸς παντὸς ἀνθρώπου ἥκει ἐναντίον μου ὅτι ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ἀδικίας ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καταφθείρω αὐτοὺς καὶ τὴν γῆν (lxx) Gen 6:13 dixit ad Noë: Finis universæ carnis venit coram me: repleta est terra iniquitate a facie eorum, et ego disperdam eos cum terra.(vulgate) 13 ׃6 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֜ים לְנֹ֗חַ קֵ֤ץ כָּל־בָּשָׂר֙ בָּ֣א לְפָנַ֔י כִּֽי־מָלְאָ֥ה הָאָ֛רֶץ חָמָ֖ס מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם וְהִנְנִ֥י מַשְׁחִיתָ֖ם אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Genesis Gen 6:13 Da sprach Gott zu Noah: Alles Fleisches Ende ist vor mich gekommen; denn die Erde ist voll Frevels von ihnen; und siehe da, ich will sie verderben mit der Erde.(dhs) Gen 6:13 And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:14 ============ Gen 6:14 Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and shall cover it inside and out with pitch.(nas) Gen 6:14 ποίησον οὖν σεαυτῷ κιβωτὸν ἐκ ξύλων τετραγώνων νοσσιὰς ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ ἀσφαλτώσεις αὐτὴν ἔσωθεν καὶ ἔξωθεν τῇ ἀσφάλτῳ (lxx) Gen 6:14 Fac tibi arcam de lignis lævigatis; mansiunculas in arca facies, et bitumine linies intrinsecus et extrinsecus.(vulgate) 14 ׃6 עֲשֵׂ֤ה לְךָ֙ תֵּבַ֣ת עֲצֵי־גֹ֔פֶר קִנִּ֖ים תּֽ͏ַעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֶת־הַתֵּבָ֑ה וְכָֽפַרְתָּ֥ אֹתָ֛הּ מִבַּ֥יִת וּמִח֖וּץ בַּכֹּֽפֶר׃ Genesis Gen 6:14 Mache dir einen Kasten von Tannenholz und mache Kammern darin und verpiche ihn mit Pech inwendig und auswendig.(dhs) Gen 6:14 "Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:15 ============ Gen 6:15 This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.(nas) Gen 6:15 καὶ οὕτως ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτόν τριακοσίων πήχεων τὸ μῆκος τῆς κιβωτοῦ καὶ πεντήκοντα πήχεων τὸ πλάτος καὶ τριάκοντα πήχεων τὸ ὕψος αὐτῆς (lxx) Gen 6:15 Et sic facies eam: trecentorum cubitorum erit longitudo arcæ, quinquaginta cubitorum latitudo, et triginta cubitorum altitudo illius.(vulgate) 15 ׃6 וְזֶ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֖ה אֹתָ֑הּ שְׁלֹ֧שׁ מֵא֣וֹת אַמָּ֗ה אֹ֚רֶךְ הַתֵּבָ֔ה חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ רָחְבָּ֔הּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אַמָּ֖ה קוֹמָתָֽהּ׃ Genesis Gen 6:15 Und mache ihn also: Dreihundert Ellen sei die Länge, fünfzig Ellen die Weite und dreißig Ellen die Höhe.(dhs) Gen 6:15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:16 ============ Gen 6:16 You shall make a window for the ark, and finish it to a cubit from the top; and set the door of the ark in the side of it; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.(nas) Gen 6:16 ἐπισυνάγων ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ εἰς πῆχυν συντελέσεις αὐτὴν ἄνωθεν τὴν δὲ θύραν τῆς κιβωτοῦ ποιήσεις ἐκ πλαγίων κατάγαια διώροφα καὶ τριώροφα ποιήσεις αὐτήν (lxx) Gen 6:16 Fenestram in arca facies, et in cubito consummabis summitatem ejus: ostium autem arcæ pones ex latere; deorsum, cœnacula et tristega facies in ea.(vulgate) 16 ׃6 צֹ֣הַר ׀ תּֽ͏ַעֲשֶׂ֣ה לַתֵּבָ֗ה וְאֶל־אַמָּה֙ תְּכַלֶ֣נָּה מִלְמַ֔עְלָה וּפֶ֥תַח הַתֵּבָ֖ה בְּצִדָּ֣הּ תָּשִׂ֑ים תַּחְתִּיִּ֛ם שְׁנִיִּ֥ם וּשְׁלִשִׁ֖ים תּֽ͏ַעֲשֶֽׂהָ׃ Genesis Gen 6:16 Ein Fenster sollst du daran machen obenan, eine Elle groß. Die Tür sollst du mitten in seine Seite setzen. Und er soll drei Boden haben: einen unten, den andern in der Mitte, den dritten in der Höhe.(dhs) Gen 6:16 You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 6:17 ============ Gen 6:17 Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish.(nas) Gen 6:17 ἐγὼ δὲ ἰδοὺ ἐπάγω τὸν κατακλυσμὸν ὕδωρ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καταφθεῖραι πᾶσαν σάρκα ἐν ᾗ ἐστιν πνεῦμα ζωῆς ὑποκάτω τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν ᾖ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς τελευτήσει (lxx) Gen 6:17 Ecce ego adducam aquas diluvii super terram, ut interficiam omnem carnem, in qua spiritus vitæ est subter cælum: universa quæ in terra sunt, consumentur.(vulgate) 17 ׃6 וַאֲנִ֗י הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אֶת־הַמַּבּ֥וּל מַ֙יִם֙ עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ לְשַׁחֵ֣ת כָּל־בָּשָׂ֗ר אֲשֶׁר־בּוֹ֙ ר֣וּחַ חַיִּ֔ים מִתַּ֖חַת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָ֖רֶץ יִגְוָֽע׃ Genesis Gen 6:17 Denn siehe, ich will eine Sintflut mit Wasser kommen lassen auf Erden, zu verderben alles Fleisch, darin ein lebendiger Odem ist, unter dem Himmel.
