Today's Date: ======= Genesis 13:1 ============ Gen 13:1 So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, he and his wife and all that belonged to him, and Lot with him.(nas) Gen 13:1 ἀνέβη δὲ Αβραμ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου αὐτὸς καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ καὶ Λωτ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ἔρημον (lxx) Gen 13:1 Ascendit ergo Abram de Ægypto, ipse et uxor ejus, et omnia quæ habebat, et Lot cum eo, ad australem plagam.(vulgate) 1 ׃13 וַיַּעַל֩ אַבְרָ֨ם מִמִּצְרַ֜יִם ה֠וּא וְאִשְׁתּ֧וֹ וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר־ל֛וֹ וְל֥וֹט עִמּ֖וֹ הַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃ Genesis Gen 13:1 Also zog Abram herauf aus Ägypten mit seinem Weibe und mit allem, was er hatte, und Lot auch mit ihm, ins Mittagsland.(dhs) Gen 13:1 Then Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, to the South.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:2 ============ Gen 13:2 Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver and in gold.(nas) Gen 13:2 Αβραμ δὲ ἦν πλούσιος σφόδρα κτήνεσιν καὶ ἀργυρίῳ καὶ χρυσίῳ (lxx) Gen 13:2 Erat autem dives valde in possessione auri et argenti.(vulgate) 2 ׃13 וְאַבְרָ֖ם כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֑ד בַּמִּקְנֶ֕ה בַּכֶּ֖סֶף וּבַזָּהָֽב׃ Genesis Gen 13:2 Abram aber war sehr reich an Vieh, Silber und Gold.(dhs) Gen 13:2 Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:3 ============ Gen 13:3 He went on his journeys from the Negev as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,(nas) Gen 13:3 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὅθεν ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ἕως Βαιθηλ ἕως τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἦν ἡ σκηνὴ αὐτοῦ τὸ πρότερον ἀνὰ μέσον Βαιθηλ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Αγγαι (lxx) Gen 13:3 Reversusque est per iter, quo venerat, a meridie in Bethel, usque ad locum ubi prius fixerat tabernaculum inter Bethel et Hai,(vulgate) 3 ׃13 וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ לְמַסָּעָ֔יו מִנֶּ֖גֶב וְעַד־בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל עַד־הַמָּק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁר־הָ֨יָה שָׁ֤ם *אהלה **אֽ͏ָהֳלוֹ֙ בַּתְּחִלָּ֔ה בֵּ֥ין בֵּֽית־אֵ֖ל וּבֵ֥ין הָעָֽי׃ Genesis Gen 13:3 Und er zog immer fort von Mittag bis gen Beth-El, an die Stätte, da am ersten seine Hütte war, zwischen Beth-El und Ai,(dhs) Gen 13:3 And he went on his journey from the South as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:4 ============ Gen 13:4 to the place of the altar which he had made there formerly; and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.(nas) Gen 13:4 εἰς τὸν τόπον τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου οὗ ἐποίησεν ἐκεῖ τὴν ἀρχήν καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐκεῖ Αβραμ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου (lxx) Gen 13:4 in loco altaris quod fecerat prius: et invocavit ibi nomen Domini.(vulgate) 4 ׃13 אֶל־מְקוֹם֙ הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ אֲשֶׁר־עָ֥שָׂה שָׁ֖ם בָּרִאשֹׁנָ֑ה וַיִּקְרָ֥א שָׁ֛ם אַבְרָ֖ם בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהוָֽה׃ Genesis Gen 13:4 eben an den Ort, da er zuvor den Altar gemacht hatte. Und er predigte allda den Namen des HERRN.(dhs) Gen 13:4 to the place of the altar which he had made there at first. And there Abram called on the name of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:5 ============ Gen 13:5 Now Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.(nas) Gen 13:5 καὶ Λωτ τῷ συμπορευομένῳ μετὰ Αβραμ ἦν πρόβατα καὶ βόες καὶ σκηναί (lxx) Gen 13:5 Sed et Lot qui erat cum Abram, fuerunt greges ovium, et armenta, et tabernacula.(vulgate) 5 ׃13 וְגַם־לְל֔וֹט הַהֹלֵ֖ךְ אֶת־אַבְרָ֑ם הָיָ֥ה צֹאן־וּבָקָ֖ר וְאֹהָלִֽים׃ Genesis Gen 13:5 Lot aber, der mit Abram zog, der hatte auch Schafe und Rinder und Hütten.(dhs) Gen 13:5 Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:6 ============ Gen 13:6 And the land could not sustain them while dwelling together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to remain together.(nas) Gen 13:6 καὶ οὐκ ἐχώρει αὐτοὺς ἡ γῆ κατοικεῖν ἅμα ὅτι ἦν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτῶν πολλά καὶ οὐκ ἐδύναντο κατοικεῖν ἅμα (lxx) Gen 13:6 Nec poterat eos capere terra, ut habitarent simul: erat quippe substantia eorum multa, et nequibant habitare communiter.(vulgate) 6 ׃13 וְלֹא־נָשָׂ֥א אֹתָ֛ם הָאָ֖רֶץ לָשֶׁ֣בֶת יַחְדָּ֑ו כִּֽי־הָיָ֤ה רְכוּשָׁם֙ רָ֔ב וְלֹ֥א יָֽכְל֖וּ לָשֶׁ֥בֶת יַחְדָּֽו׃ Genesis Gen 13:6 Und das Land konnte es nicht ertragen, daß sie beieinander wohnten; denn ihre Habe war groß, und konnten nicht beieinander wohnen.(dhs) Gen 13:6 Now the land was not able to support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:7 ============ Gen 13:7 And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. Now the Canaanite and the Perizzite were dwelling then in the land.(nas) Gen 13:7 καὶ ἐγένετο μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν τοῦ Αβραμ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν τοῦ Λωτ οἱ δὲ Χαναναῖοι καὶ οἱ Φερεζαῖοι τότε κατῴκουν τὴν γῆν (lxx) Gen 13:7 Unde et facta est rixa inter pastores gregum Abram et Lot. Eo autem tempore Chananæus et Pherezæus habitabant in terra illa.(vulgate) 7 ׃13 וֽ͏ַיְהִי־רִ֗יב בֵּ֚ין רֹעֵ֣י מִקְנֵֽה־אַבְרָ֔ם וּבֵ֖ין רֹעֵ֣י מִקְנֵה־ל֑וֹט וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י אָ֖ז יֹשֵׁ֥ב בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ Genesis Gen 13:7 Und es war immer Zank zwischen den Hirten über Abrams Vieh und zwischen den Hirten über Lots Vieh. So wohnten auch zu der Zeit die Kanaaniter und Pheresiter im Lande.(dhs) Gen 13:7 And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. The Canaanites and the Perizzites then dwelt in the land.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:8 ============ Gen 13:8 So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers.(nas) Gen 13:8 εἶπεν δὲ Αβραμ τῷ Λωτ μὴ ἔστω μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων μου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων σου ὅτι ἄνθρωποι ἀδελφοὶ ἡμεῖς ἐσμεν (lxx) Gen 13:8 Dixit ergo Abram ad Lot: Ne quæso sit jurgium inter me et te, et inter pastores meos et pastores tuos: fratres enim sumus.(vulgate) 8 ׃13 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אַבְרָ֜ם אֶל־ל֗וֹט אַל־נָ֨א תְהִ֤י מְרִיבָה֙ בֵּינִ֣י וּבֵינֶ֔יךָ וּבֵ֥ין רֹעַ֖י וּבֵ֣ין רֹעֶ֑יךָ כִּֽי־אֲנָשִׁ֥ים אַחִ֖ים אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ Genesis Gen 13:8 Da sprach Abram zu Lot: Laß doch nicht Zank sein zwischen mir und dir und zwischen meinen und deinen Hirten; denn wir sind Gebrüder.(dhs) Gen 13:8 So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:9 ============ Gen 13:9 Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me; if to the left, then I will go to the right; or if to the right, then I will go to the left."(nas) Gen 13:9 οὐκ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ἐναντίον σού ἐστιν διαχωρίσθητι ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ εἰ σὺ εἰς ἀριστερά ἐγὼ εἰς δεξιά εἰ δὲ σὺ εἰς δεξιά ἐγὼ εἰς ἀριστερά (lxx) Gen 13:9 Ecce universa terra coram te est: recede a me, obsecro: si ad sinistram ieris, ego dexteram tenebo: si tu dexteram elegeris, ego ad sinistram pergam.(vulgate) 9 ׃13 הֲלֹ֤א כָל־הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ הִפָּ֥רֶד נָ֖א מֵעָלָ֑י אִם־הַשְּׂמֹ֣אל וְאֵימִ֔נָה וְאִם־הַיָּמִ֖ין וְאַשְׂמְאִֽילָה׃ Genesis Gen 13:9 Steht dir nicht alles Land offen? Scheide dich doch von mir. Willst du zur Linken, so will ich zur Rechten; oder willst du zur Rechten, so will ich zur Linken.(dhs) Gen 13:9 Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:10 ============ Gen 13:10 Lot lifted up his eyes and saw all the valley of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere"this was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah"like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go to Zoar.(nas) Gen 13:10 καὶ ἐπάρας Λωτ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ εἶδεν πᾶσαν τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ιορδάνου ὅτι πᾶσα ἦν ποτιζομένη πρὸ τοῦ καταστρέψαι τὸν θεὸν Σοδομα καὶ Γομορρα ὡς ὁ παράδεισος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ὡς ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου ἕως ἐλθεῖν εἰς Ζογορα (lxx) Gen 13:10 Elevatis itaque Lot oculis, vidit omnem circa regionem Jordanis, quæ universa irrigabatur antequam subverteret Dominus Sodomam et Gomorrham, sicut paradisus Domini, et sicut Ægyptus venientibus in Segor.(vulgate) 10 ׃13 וַיִּשָּׂא־ל֣וֹט אֶת־עֵינָ֗יו וַיַּרְא֙ אֶת־כָּל־כִּכַּ֣ר הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן כִּ֥י כֻלָּ֖הּ מַשְׁקֶ֑ה לִפְנֵ֣י ׀ שַׁחֵ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה אֶת־סְדֹם֙ וְאֶת־עֲמֹרָ֔ה כְּגַן־יְהוָה֙ כְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם בֹּאֲכָ֖ה צֹֽעַר׃ Genesis Gen 13:10 Da hob Lot sein Augen auf und besah die ganze Gegend am Jordan. Denn ehe der HERR Sodom und Gomorra verderbte, war sie wasserreich, bis man gen Zoar kommt, als ein Garten des HERRN, gleichwie Ägyptenland.(dhs) Gen 13:10 And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:11 ============ Gen 13:11 So Lot chose for himself all the valley of the Jordan, and Lot journeyed eastward. Thus they separated from each other.(nas) Gen 13:11 καὶ ἐξελέξατο ἑαυτῷ Λωτ πᾶσαν τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἀπῆρεν Λωτ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν καὶ διεχωρίσθησαν ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Gen 13:11 Elegitque sibi Lot regionem circa Jordanem, et recessit ab oriente: divisique sunt alterutrum a fratre suo.(vulgate) 11 ׃13 וַיִּבְחַר־ל֣וֹ ל֗וֹט אֵ֚ת כָּל־כִּכַּ֣ר הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וַיִּסַּ֥ע ל֖וֹט מִקֶּ֑דֶם וַיִּפָּ֣רְד֔וּ אִ֖ישׁ מֵעַ֥ל אָחִֽיו׃ Genesis Gen 13:11 Da erwählte sich Lot die ganze Gegend am Jordan und zog gegen Morgen. Also schied sich ein Bruder von dem andern,(dhs) Gen 13:11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:12 ============ Gen 13:12 Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled in the cities of the valley, and moved his tents as far as Sodom.(nas) Gen 13:12 Αβραμ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν γῇ Χανααν Λωτ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν πόλει τῶν περιχώρων καὶ ἐσκήνωσεν ἐν Σοδομοις (lxx) Gen 13:12 Abram habitavit in terra Chanaan; Lot vero moratus est in oppidis, quæ erant circa Jordanem, et habitavit in Sodomis.(vulgate) 12 ׃13 אַבְרָ֖ם יָשַׁ֣ב בְּאֶֽרֶץ־כְּנָ֑עַן וְל֗וֹט יָשַׁב֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י הַכִּכָּ֔ר וַיֶּאֱהַ֖ל עַד־סְדֹֽם׃ Genesis Gen 13:12 daß Abram wohnte im Lande Kanaan und Lot in den Städten der Jordangegend und setzte seine Hütte gen Sodom.(dhs) Gen 13:12 Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:13 ============ Gen 13:13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the Lord.(nas) Gen 13:13 οἱ δὲ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ἐν Σοδομοις πονηροὶ καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ σφόδρα (lxx) Gen 13:13 Homines autem Sodomitæ pessimi erant, et peccatores coram Domino nimis.~(vulgate) 13 ׃13 וְאַנְשֵׁ֣י סְדֹ֔ם רָעִ֖ים וְחַטָּאִ֑ים לַיהוָ֖ה מְאֹֽד׃ Genesis Gen 13:13 Aber die Leute zu Sodom waren böse und sündigten sehr wider den HERRN.(dhs) Gen 13:13 But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:14 ============ Gen 13:14 The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, "Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward;(nas) Gen 13:14 ὁ δὲ θεὸς εἶπεν τῷ Αβραμ μετὰ τὸ διαχωρισθῆναι τὸν Λωτ ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἀναβλέψας τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου ἰδὲ ἀπὸ τοῦ τόπου οὗ νῦν σὺ εἶ πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ λίβα καὶ ἀνατολὰς καὶ θάλασσαν (lxx) Gen 13:14 Dixitque Dominus ad Abram, postquam divisus est ab eo Lot: Leva oculos tuos et vide a loco, in quo nunc es, ad aquilonem et meridiem, ad orientem et occidentem.(vulgate) 14 ׃13 וֽ͏ַיהוָ֞ה אָמַ֣ר אֶל־אַבְרָ֗ם אַחֲרֵי֙ הִפָּֽרֶד־ל֣וֹט מֽ͏ֵעִמּ֔וֹ שָׂ֣א נָ֤א עֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ וּרְאֵ֔ה מִן־הַמָּק֖וֹם אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֣ה שָׁ֑ם צָפֹ֥נָה וָנֶ֖גְבָּה וָקֵ֥דְמָה וָיָֽמָּה׃ Genesis Gen 13:14 Da nun Lot sich von Abram geschieden hatte, sprach der HERR zu Abram: Hebe dein Augen auf und siehe von der Stätte an, da du wohnst, gegen Mittag, gegen Morgen und gegen Abend.(dhs) Gen 13:14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are--northward, southward, eastward, and westward;(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:15 ============ Gen 13:15 for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever.(nas) Gen 13:15 ὅτι πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἣν σὺ ὁρᾷς σοὶ δώσω αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος (lxx) Gen 13:15 Omnem terram, quam conspicis, tibi dabo, et semini tuo usque in sempiternum.(vulgate) 15 ׃13 כִּ֧י אֶת־כָּל־הָאָ֛רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֥ה רֹאֶ֖ה לְךָ֣ אֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה וּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֖ עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ Genesis Gen 13:15 Denn alles Land, das du siehst, will ich dir geben und deinem Samen ewiglich;(dhs) Gen 13:15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:16 ============ Gen 13:16 I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone can number the dust of the earth, then your descendants can also be numbered.(nas) Gen 13:16 καὶ ποιήσω τὸ σπέρμα σου ὡς τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς εἰ δύναταί τις ἐξαριθμῆσαι τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου ἐξαριθμηθήσεται (lxx) Gen 13:16 Faciamque semen tuum sicut pulverem terræ: si quis potest hominum numerare pulverem terræ, semen quoque tuum numerare poterit.(vulgate) 16 ׃13 וְשַׂמְתִּ֥י אֶֽת־זַרְעֲךָ֖ כַּעֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֑רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ אִם־יוּכַ֣ל אִ֗ישׁ לִמְנוֹת֙ אֶת־עֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֔רֶץ גַּֽם־זַרְעֲךָ֖ יִמָּנֶֽה׃ Genesis Gen 13:16 und ich will deinen Samen machen wie den Staub auf Erden. Kann ein Mensch den Staub auf Erden zählen, der wird auch deinen Samen zählen.(dhs) Gen 13:16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:17 ============ Gen 13:17 Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you."(nas) Gen 13:17 ἀναστὰς διόδευσον τὴν γῆν εἴς τε τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς καὶ εἰς τὸ πλάτος ὅτι σοὶ δώσω αὐτήν (lxx) Gen 13:17 Surge, et perambula terram in longitudine et in latitudine sua: quia tibi daturus sum eam.(vulgate) 17 ׃13 ק֚וּם הִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ בָּאָ֔רֶץ לְאָרְכָּ֖הּ וּלְרָחְבָּ֑הּ כִּ֥י לְךָ֖ אֶתְּנֶֽנָּה׃ Genesis Gen 13:17 Darum so mache dich auf und ziehe durch das Land in die Länge und Breite; denn dir will ich's geben.(dhs) Gen 13:17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 13:18 ============ Gen 13:18 Then Abram moved his tent and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.(nas) Gen 13:18 καὶ ἀποσκηνώσας Αβραμ ἐλθὼν κατῴκησεν παρὰ τὴν δρῦν τὴν Μαμβρη ἣ ἦν ἐν Χεβρων καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον κυρίῳ (lxx) Gen 13:18 Movens igitur tabernaculum suum Abram, venit, et habitavit juxta convallem Mambre, quæ est in Hebron: ædificavitque ibi altare Domino.(vulgate) 18 ׃13 וַיֶּאֱהַ֣ל אַבְרָ֗ם וַיָּבֹ֛א וַיֵּ֛שֶׁב בְּאֵלֹנֵ֥י מַמְרֵ֖א אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּחֶבְר֑וֹן וַיִּֽבֶן־שָׁ֥ם מִזְבֵּ֖חַ לֽ͏ַיהוָֽה׃ פ Genesis Gen 13:18 Also erhob Abram sein Hütte, kam und wohnte im Hain Mamre, der zu Hebron ist, und baute daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar.(dhs) Gen 13:18 Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 14:1 ============ top of the page
