Today's Date: ======= 1 Samuel 10:1 ============ 1Sa 10:1 Then Samuel took the flask of oil, poured it on his head, kissed him and said, "Has not the Lord anointed you a ruler over His inheritance?(nas) 1Sa 10:1 καὶ ἔλαβεν Σαμουηλ τὸν φακὸν τοῦ ἐλαίου καὶ ἐπέχεεν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐφίλησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ οὐχὶ κέχρικέν σε κύριος εἰς ἄρχοντα ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ σὺ ἄρξεις ἐν λαῷ κυρίου καὶ σὺ σώσεις αὐτὸν ἐκ χειρὸς ἐχθρῶν αὐτοῦ κυκλόθεν καὶ τοῦτό σοι τὸ σημεῖον ὅτι ἔχρισέν σε κύριος ἐπὶ κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ εἰς ἄρχοντα (lxx) 1Sa 10:1 Tulit autem Samuel lenticulam olei, et effudit super caput ejus: et deosculatus est eum, et ait: Ecce unxit te Dominus super hæreditatem suam in principem, et liberabis populum suum de manibus inimicorum ejus qui in circuitu ejus sunt. Et hoc tibi signum, quia unxit te Deus in principem.~(vulgate) 1 ׃10 וַיִּקַּ֨ח שְׁמוּאֵ֜ל אֶת־פַּ֥ךְ הַשֶּׁ֛מֶן וַיִּצֹ֥ק עַל־רֹאשׁ֖וֹ וַיִּשָּׁקֵ֑הוּ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הֲל֗וֹא כִּֽי־מְשָׁחֲךָ֧ יְהוָ֛ה עַל־נַחֲלָת֖וֹ לְנָגִֽיד׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:1 Da nahm Samuel ein Ölglas und goß auf sein Haupt und küßte ihn und sprach: Siehst du, daß dich der HERR zum Fürsten über sein Erbteil gesalbt hat?(dhs) 1Sa 10:1 Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head, and kissed him and said: "Is it not because the Lord has anointed you commander over His inheritance?(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:2 ============ 1Sa 10:2 When you go from me today, then you will find two men close to Rachel's tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, 'The donkeys which you went to look for have been found. Now behold, your father has ceased to be concerned about the donkeys and is anxious for you, saying, "What shall I do about my son?"'(nas) 1Sa 10:2 ὡς ἂν ἀπέλθῃς σήμερον ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ εὑρήσεις δύο ἄνδρας πρὸς τοῖς τάφοις Ραχηλ ἐν τῷ ὁρίῳ Βενιαμιν ἁλλομένους μεγάλα καὶ ἐροῦσίν σοι εὕρηνται αἱ ὄνοι ἃς ἐπορεύθητε ζητεῖν καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ πατήρ σου ἀποτετίνακται τὸ ῥῆμα τῶν ὄνων καὶ ἐδαψιλεύσατο δι᾽ ὑμᾶς λέγων τί ποιήσω ὑπὲρ τοῦ υἱοῦ μου (lxx) 1Sa 10:2 Cum abieris hodie a me, invenies duos viros juxta sepulchrum Rachel in finibus Benjamin, in meridie: dicentque tibi: Inventæ sunt asinæ ad quas ieras perquirendas: et intermissis pater tuus asinis, sollicitus est pro vobis, et dicit: Quid faciam de filio meo?(vulgate) 2 ׃10 בְּלֶכְתְּךָ֤ הַיּוֹם֙ מֵעִמָּדִ֔י וּמָצָאתָ֩ שְׁנֵ֨י אֲנָשִׁ֜ים עִם־קְבֻרַ֥ת רָחֵ֛ל בִּגְב֥וּל בִּנְיָמִ֖ן בְּצֶלְצַ֑ח וְאָמְר֣וּ אֵלֶ֗יךָ נִמְצְא֤וּ הָאֲתֹנוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָלַ֣כְתָּ לְבַקֵּ֔שׁ וְהִנֵּ֨ה נָטַ֤שׁ אָבִ֙יךָ֙ אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֣י הָאֲתֹנ֔וֹת וְדָאַ֤ג לָכֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר מָ֥ה אֶעֱשֶׂ֖ה לִבְנִֽי׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:2 Wenn du jetzt von mir gehst, so wirst du zwei Männer finden bei dem Grabe Rahels, in der Grenze Benjamins, zu Zelzah; die werden dir sagen: Die Eselinnen sind gefunden, die du zu suchen bist gegangen; und siehe, dein Vater hat die Esel aus der Acht gelassen und sorgt um euch und spricht: Was soll ich um meinen Sohn tun?(dhs) 1Sa 10:2 When you have departed from me today, you will find two men by Rachel's tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, 'The donkeys which you went to look for have been found. And now your father has ceased caring about the donkeys and is worrying about you, saying, "What shall I do about my son?" '(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:3 ============ 1Sa 10:3 Then you will go on further from there, and you will come as far as the oak of Tabor, and there three men going up to God at Bethel will meet you, one carrying three young goats, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a jug of wine;(nas) 1Sa 10:3 καὶ ἀπελεύσει ἐκεῖθεν καὶ ἐπέκεινα ἥξεις ἕως τῆς δρυὸς Θαβωρ καὶ εὑρήσεις ἐκεῖ τρεῖς ἄνδρας ἀναβαίνοντας πρὸς τὸν θεὸν εἰς Βαιθηλ ἕνα αἴροντα τρία αἰγίδια καὶ ἕνα αἴροντα τρία ἀγγεῖα ἄρτων καὶ ἕνα αἴροντα ἀσκὸν οἴνου (lxx) 1Sa 10:3 Cumque abieris inde, et ultra transieris, et veneris ad quercum Thabor, invenient te ibi tres viri ascendentes ad Deum in Bethel, unus portans tres hædos, et alius tres tortas panis, et alius portans lagenam vini.(vulgate) 3 ׃10 וְחָלַפְתָּ֨ מִשָּׁ֜ם וָהָ֗לְאָה וּבָ֙אתָ֙ עַד־אֵל֣וֹן תָּב֔וֹר וּמְצָא֤וּךָ שָּׁם֙ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה אֲנָשִׁ֔ים עֹלִ֥ים אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל אֶחָ֞ד נֹשֵׂ֣א ׀ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה גְדָיִ֗ים וְאֶחָד֙ נֹשֵׂ֗א שְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙ כִּכְּר֣וֹת לֶ֔חֶם וְאֶחָ֖[t]ד נֹשֵֽׂ[m]א נֵֽבֶל־יָֽיִן׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:3 Und wenn du dich von da weiter wendest, so wirst du kommen zu der Eiche Thabor; daselbst werden dich antreffen drei Männer, die hinaufgehen zu Gott gen Beth-El. Einer trägt drei Böcklein, der andere drei Laibe Brot, der dritte einen Krug mit Wein.(dhs) 1Sa 10:3 Then you shall go on forward from there and come to the terebinth tree of Tabor. There three men going up to God at Bethel will meet you, one carrying three young goats, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a skin of wine.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:4 ============ 1Sa 10:4 and they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you will accept from their hand.(nas) 1Sa 10:4 καὶ ἐρωτήσουσίν σε τὰ εἰς εἰρήνην καὶ δώσουσίν σοι δύο ἀπαρχὰς ἄρτων καὶ λήμψῃ ἐκ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν (lxx) 1Sa 10:4 Cumque te salutaverint, dabunt tibi duos panes, et accipies de manu eorum.(vulgate) 4 ׃10 וְשָׁאֲל֥וּ לְךָ֖ לְשָׁל֑וֹם וְנָתְנ֤וּ לְךָ֙ שְׁתֵּי־לֶ֔חֶם וְלָקַחְתָּ֖ מִיָּדָֽם׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:4 Und sie werden dich freundlich grüßen und dir zwei Brote geben. Die sollst du von ihren Händen nehmen.(dhs) 1Sa 10:4 And they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall receive from their hands.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:5 ============ 1Sa 10:5 Afterward you will come to the hill of God where the Philistine garrison is; and it shall be as soon as you have come there to the city, that you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and a lyre before them, and they will be prophesying.(nas) 1Sa 10:5 καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσῃ εἰς τὸν βουνὸν τοῦ θεοῦ οὗ ἐστιν ἐκεῖ τὸ ἀνάστημα τῶν ἀλλοφύλων ἐκεῖ Νασιβ ὁ ἀλλόφυλος καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἂν εἰσέλθητε ἐκεῖ εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἀπαντήσεις χορῷ προφητῶν καταβαινόντων ἐκ τῆς Βαμα καὶ ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν νάβλα καὶ τύμπανον καὶ αὐλὸς καὶ κινύρα καὶ αὐτοὶ προφητεύοντες (lxx) 1Sa 10:5 Post hæc venies in collem Dei, ubi est statio Philisthinorum: et cum ingressus fueris ibi urbem, obvium habebis gregem prophetarum descendentium de excelso, et ante eos psalterium, et tympanum, et tibiam, et citharam, ipsosque prophetantes.(vulgate) 5 ׃10 אַ֣חַר כֵּ֗ן תָּבוֹא֙ גִּבְעַ֣ת הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־שָׁ֖ם נְצִבֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וִיהִי֩ כְבֹאֲךָ֨ שָׁ֜ם הָעִ֗יר וּפָגַעְתָּ֞ חֶ֤בֶל נְבִיאִים֙ יֹרְדִ֣ים מֵֽהַבָּמָ֔ה וְלִפְנֵיהֶ֞ם נֵ֤בֶל וְתֹף֙ וְחָלִ֣יל וְכִנּ֔וֹר וְהֵ֖מָּה מִֽתְנַבְּאִֽים׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:5 Darnach wirst du kommen zu dem Hügel Gottes, da der Philister Schildwacht ist; und wenn du daselbst in die Stadt kommst, wird dir begegnen ein Haufe Propheten, von der Hütte herabkommend, und vor ihnen her Psalter und Pauke und Flöte und Harfe, und sie werden weissagen.(dhs) 1Sa 10:5 After that you shall come to the hill of God where the Philistine garrison is. And it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with a stringed instrument, a tambourine, a flute, and a harp before them; and they will be prophesying.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:6 ============ 1Sa 10:6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man.(nas) 1Sa 10:6 καὶ ἐφαλεῖται ἐπὶ σὲ πνεῦμα κυρίου καὶ προφητεύσεις μετ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ στραφήσῃ εἰς ἄνδρα ἄλλον (lxx) 1Sa 10:6 Et insiliet in te spiritus Domini, et prophetabis cum eis, et mutaberis in virum alium.(vulgate) 6 ׃10 וְצָלְחָ֤ה עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֔ה וְהִתְנַבִּ֖יתָ עִמָּ֑ם וְנֶהְפַּכְתָּ֖ לְאִ֥ישׁ אַחֵֽר׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:6 Und der Geist des HERRN wird über dich geraten, daß du mit ihnen weissagst; da wirst du ein anderer Mann werden.(dhs) 1Sa 10:6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:7 ============ 1Sa 10:7 It shall be when these signs come to you, do for yourself what the occasion requires, for God is with you.(nas) 1Sa 10:7 καὶ ἔσται ὅταν ἥξει τὰ σημεῖα ταῦτα ἐπὶ σέ ποίει πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν εὕρῃ ἡ χείρ σου ὅτι θεὸς μετὰ σοῦ (lxx) 1Sa 10:7 Quando ergo evenerint signa hæc omnia tibi, fac quæcumque invenerit manus tua, quia Dominus tecum est.(vulgate) 7 ׃10 וְהָיָ֗ה כִּ֥י *תבאינה **תָבֹ֛אנָה הָאֹת֥וֹת הָאֵ֖לֶּה לָ֑ךְ עֲשֵׂ֤ה לְךָ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּמְצָ֣א יָדֶ֔ךָ כִּ֥י הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים עִמָּֽךְ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:7 Wenn dir nun diese Zeichen kommen, so tue, was dir unter die Hand kommt; denn Gott ist mit dir.(dhs) 1Sa 10:7 And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:8 ============ 1Sa 10:8 And you shall go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice peace offerings. You shall wait seven days until I come to you and show you what you should do."(nas) 1Sa 10:8 καὶ καταβήσῃ ἔμπροσθεν τῆς Γαλγαλα καὶ ἰδοὺ καταβαίνω πρὸς σὲ ἀνενεγκεῖν ὁλοκαύτωσιν καὶ θυσίας εἰρηνικάς ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας διαλείψεις ἕως τοῦ ἐλθεῖν με πρὸς σέ καὶ γνωρίσω σοι ἃ ποιήσεις (lxx) 1Sa 10:8 Et descendes ante me in Galgala (ego quippe descendam ad te), ut offeras oblationem, et immoles victimas pacificas: septem diebus expectabis, donec veniam ad te, et ostendam tibi quid facias.(vulgate) 8 ׃10 וְיָרַדְתָּ֣ לְפָנַי֮ הַגִּלְגָּל֒ וְהִנֵּ֤ה אָֽנֹכִי֙ יֹרֵ֣ד אֵלֶ֔יךָ לְהַעֲל֣וֹת עֹל֔וֹת לִזְבֹּ֖חַ זִבְחֵ֣י שְׁלָמִ֑ים שִׁבְעַ֨ת יָמִ֤ים תּוֹחֵל֙ עַד־בּוֹאִ֣י אֵלֶ֔יךָ וְהוֹדַעְתִּ֣י לְךָ֔ אֵ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֶֽׂה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:8 Du sollst aber vor mir hinabgehen gen Gilgal; siehe, da will ich zu dir hinabkommen, zu opfern Brandopfer und Dankopfer. Sieben Tage sollst du harren, bis ich zu dir komme und dir kundtue, was du tun sollst.(dhs) 1Sa 10:8 You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and surely I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and make sacrifices of peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, till I come to you and show you what you should do."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:9 ============ 1Sa 10:9 Then it happened when he turned his back to leave Samuel, God changed his heart; and all those signs came about on that day.(nas) 1Sa 10:9 καὶ ἐγενήθη ὥστε ἐπιστραφῆναι τῷ ὤμῳ αὐτοῦ ἀπελθεῖν ἀπὸ Σαμουηλ μετέστρεψεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεὸς καρδίαν ἄλλην καὶ ἦλθεν πάντα τὰ σημεῖα ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ (lxx) 1Sa 10:9 Itaque cum avertisset humerum suum ut abiret a Samuele, immutavit ei Deus cor aliud, et venerunt omnia signa hæc in die illa.(vulgate) 9 ׃10 וְהָיָ֗ה כְּהַפְנֹת֤וֹ שִׁכְמוֹ֙ לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ מֵעִ֣ם שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וַיַּהֲפָךְ־ל֥וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים לֵ֣ב אַחֵ֑ר וַיָּבֹ֛אוּ כָּל־הָאֹת֥וֹת הָאֵ֖לֶּה בַּיּ֥וֹם הַהֽוּא׃ ס Samuel1 1Sa 10:9 Und da er seine Schultern wandte, daß er von Samuel ginge, gab Gott ihm ein anderes Herz, und alle diese Zeichen kamen auf denselben Tag.(dhs) 1Sa 10:9 So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:10 ============ 1Sa 10:10 When they came to the hill there, behold, a group of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him mightily, so that he prophesied among them.(nas) 1Sa 10:10 καὶ ἔρχεται ἐκεῖθεν εἰς τὸν βουνόν καὶ ἰδοὺ χορὸς προφητῶν ἐξ ἐναντίας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἥλατο ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα θεοῦ καὶ ἐπροφήτευσεν ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν (lxx) 1Sa 10:10 Veneruntque ad prædictum collem, et ecce cuneus prophetarum obvius ei: et insiluit super eum spiritus Domini, et prophetavit in medio eorum.(vulgate) 10 ׃10 וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ שָׁם֙ הַגִּבְעָ֔תָה וְהִנֵּ֥ה חֶֽבֶל־נְבִאִ֖ים לִקְרָאת֑וֹ וַתִּצְלַ֤ח עָלָיו֙ ר֣וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיִּתְנַבֵּ֖א בְּתוֹכָֽם׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:10 Und da sie kamen an den Hügel, siehe, da kam ihm ein Prophetenhaufe entgegen; und der Geist Gottes geriet über ihn, daß er unter ihnen weissagte.(dhs) 1Sa 10:10 When they came there to the hill, there was a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:11 ============ 1Sa 10:11 It came about, when all who knew him previously saw that he prophesied now with the prophets, that the people said to one another, "What has happened to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?"(nas) 1Sa 10:11 καὶ ἐγενήθησαν πάντες οἱ εἰδότες αὐτὸν ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτην καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς ἐν μέσῳ τῶν προφητῶν καὶ εἶπεν ὁ λαὸς ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ τί τοῦτο τὸ γεγονὸς τῷ υἱῷ Κις ἦ καὶ Σαουλ ἐν προφήταις (lxx) 1Sa 10:11 Videntes autem omnes qui noverant eum heri et nudiustertius quod esset cum prophetis, et prophetaret, dixerunt ad invicem: Quænam res accidit filio Cis? num et Saul inter prophetas?(vulgate) 11 ׃10 וַיְהִ֗י כָּל־יֽוֹדְעוֹ֙ מֵאִתְּמ֣וֹל שִׁלְשׁ֔וֹם וַיִּרְא֕וּ וְהִנֵּ֥ה עִם־נְבִאִ֖ים נִבָּ֑א וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הָעָ֜ם אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֗הוּ מַה־זֶּה֙ הָיָ֣ה לְבֶן־קִ֔ישׁ הֲגַ֥ם שָׁא֖וּל בַּנְּבִיאִֽים׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:11 Da ihn aber sahen alle, die ihn vormals gekannt hatten, daß er mit den Propheten weissagte, sprachen sie alle untereinander: Was ist dem Sohn des Kis geschehen? Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten?(dhs) 1Sa 10:11 And it happened, when all who knew him formerly saw that he indeed prophesied among the prophets, that the people said to one another, "What is this that has come upon the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?"(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:12 ============ 1Sa 10:12 A man there said, "Now, who is their father?" Therefore it became a proverb: "Is Saul also among the prophets?"(nas) 1Sa 10:12 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη τις αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν καὶ τίς πατὴρ αὐτοῦ διὰ τοῦτο ἐγενήθη εἰς παραβολήν ἦ καὶ Σαουλ ἐν προφήταις (lxx) 1Sa 10:12 Responditque alius ad alterum, dicens: Et quis pater eorum? Propterea versum est in proverbium: Num et Saul inter prophetas?(vulgate) 12 ׃10 וַיַּ֨עַן אִ֥ישׁ מִשָּׁ֛ם וַיֹּ֖אמֶר וּמִ֣י אֲבִיהֶ֑ם עַל־כֵּן֙ הָיְתָ֣ה לְמָשָׁ֔ל הֲגַ֥ם שָׁא֖וּל בַּנְּבִאִֽים׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:12 Und einer daselbst antwortete und sprach: Wer ist ihr Vater? Daher ist das Sprichwort gekommen: Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten?(dhs) 1Sa 10:12 Then a man from there answered and said, "But who is their father?" Therefore it became a proverb: "Is Saul also among the prophets?"(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:13 ============ 1Sa 10:13 When he had finished prophesying, he came to the high place.(nas) 1Sa 10:13 καὶ συνετέλεσεν προφητεύων καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς τὸν βουνόν (lxx) 1Sa 10:13 Cessavit autem prophetare, et venit ad excelsum.(vulgate) 13 ׃10 וַיְכַל֙ מֵֽהִתְנַבּ֔וֹת וַיָּבֹ֖א הַבָּמָֽה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:13 Und da er ausgeweisagt hatte, kam er auf die Höhe.(dhs) 1Sa 10:13 And when he had finished prophesying, he went to the high place.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:14 ============ 1Sa 10:14 Now Saul's uncle said to him and his servant, "Where did you go?" And he said, "To look for the donkeys. When we saw that they could not be found, we went to Samuel."(nas) 1Sa 10:14 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ οἰκεῖος αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ πρὸς τὸ παιδάριον αὐτοῦ ποῦ ἐπορεύθητε καὶ εἶπαν ζητεῖν τὰς ὄνους καὶ εἴδαμεν ὅτι οὐκ εἰσίν καὶ εἰσήλθομεν πρὸς Σαμουηλ (lxx) 1Sa 10:14 Dixitque patruus Saul ad eum, et ad puerum ejus: Quo abistis? Qui responderunt: Quærere asinas: quas cum non reperissemus, venimus ad Samuelem.(vulgate) 14 ׃10 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ דּ֨וֹד שָׁא֥וּל אֵלָ֛יו וְאֶֽל־נַעֲר֖וֹ אָ֣ן הֲלַכְתֶּ֑ם וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לְבַקֵּשׁ֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֲתֹנ֔וֹת וַנִּרְאֶ֣ה כִי־אַ֔יִן וַנָּב֖וֹא אֶל־שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:14 Es sprach aber Sauls Vetter zu ihm und zu seinem Knecht: Wo seid ihr hingegangen? Sie antworteten: Die Eselinnen zu suchen; und da wir sahen, daß sie nicht da waren kamen wir zu Samuel.(dhs) 1Sa 10:14 Then Saul's uncle said to him and his servant, "Where did you go?" So he said, "To look for the donkeys. When we saw that they were nowhere to be found, we went to Samuel."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:15 ============ 1Sa 10:15 Saul's uncle said, "Please tell me what Samuel said to you."(nas) 1Sa 10:15 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ οἰκεῖος πρὸς Σαουλ ἀπάγγειλον δή μοι τί εἶπέν σοι Σαμουηλ (lxx) 1Sa 10:15 Et dixit ei patruus suus: Indica mihi quid dixerit tibi Samuel.(vulgate) 15 ׃10 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר דּ֣וֹד שָׁא֑וּל הַגִּֽידָה־נָּ֣א לִ֔י מָֽה־אָמַ֥ר לָכֶ֖ם שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:15 Da sprach der Vetter Sauls: Sage mir, was sagte euch Samuel?(dhs) 1Sa 10:15 And Saul's uncle said, "Tell me, please, what Samuel said to you."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:16 ============ 1Sa 10:16 So Saul said to his uncle, "He told us plainly that the donkeys had been found." But he did not tell him about the matter of the kingdom which Samuel had mentioned.(nas) 1Sa 10:16 καὶ εἶπεν Σαουλ πρὸς τὸν οἰκεῖον αὐτοῦ ἀπήγγειλεν ἀπαγγέλλων μοι ὅτι εὕρηνται αἱ ὄνοι τὸ δὲ ῥῆμα τῆς βασιλείας οὐκ ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτῷ (lxx) 1Sa 10:16 Et ait Saul ad patruum suum: Indicavit nobis quia inventæ essent asinæ. De sermone autem regni non indicavit ei quem locutus fuerat ei Samuel.~(vulgate) 16 ׃10 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר שָׁאוּל֙ אֶל־דּוֹד֔וֹ הַגֵּ֤ד הִגִּיד֙ לָ֔נוּ כִּ֥י נִמְצְא֖וּ הָאֲתֹנ֑וֹת וְאֶת־דְּבַ֤ר הַמְּלוּכָה֙ לֹֽא־הִגִּ֣יד ל֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֖ר אָמַ֥ר שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃ פ Samuel1 1Sa 10:16 Saul antwortete seinem Vetter: Er sagte uns, daß die Eselinnen gefunden wären. Aber von dem Königreich sagte er ihm nicht, was Samuel gesagt hatte.(dhs) 1Sa 10:16 So Saul said to his uncle, "He told us plainly that the donkeys had been found." Now therefore, present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and by your clans."(nas) 1Sa 10:19 καὶ ὑμεῖς σήμερον ἐξουθενήκατε τὸν θεόν ὃς αὐτός ἐστιν ὑμῶν σωτὴρ ἐκ πάντων τῶν κακῶν ὑμῶν καὶ θλίψεων ὑμῶν καὶ εἴπατε οὐχί ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ὅτι βασιλέα στήσεις ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν καὶ νῦν κατάστητε ἐνώπιον κυρίου κατὰ τὰ σκῆπτρα ὑμῶν καὶ κατὰ τὰς φυλὰς ὑμῶν (lxx) 1Sa 10:19 Vos autem hodie projecistis Deum vestrum, qui solus salvavit vos de universis malis et tribulationibus vestris: et dixistis: Nequaquam: sed regem constitue super nos. Now therefore, present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and by your clans."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:20 ============ 1Sa 10:20 Thus Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was taken by lot.(nas) 1Sa 10:20 καὶ προσήγαγεν Σαμουηλ πάντα τὰ σκῆπτρα Ισραηλ καὶ κατακληροῦται σκῆπτρον Βενιαμιν (lxx) 1Sa 10:20 Et applicuit Samuel omnes tribus Israël, et cecidit sors tribus Benjamin.(vulgate) 20 ׃10 וַיַּקְרֵ֣ב שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל אֵ֖ת כָּל־שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּלָּכֵ֖ד שֵׁ֥בֶט בִּנְיָמִֽן׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:20 Da nun Samuel alle Stämme Israels herzubrachte, ward getroffen der Stamm Benjamin.(dhs) 1Sa 10:20 And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was chosen.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:21 ============ 1Sa 10:21 Then he brought the tribe of Benjamin near by its families, and the Matrite family was taken. And Saul the son of Kish was taken; but when they looked for him, he could not be found.(nas) 1Sa 10:21 καὶ προσάγει σκῆπτρον Βενιαμιν εἰς φυλάς καὶ κατακληροῦται φυλὴ Ματταρι καὶ προσάγουσιν τὴν φυλὴν Ματταρι εἰς ἄνδρας καὶ κατακληροῦται Σαουλ υἱὸς Κις καὶ ἐζήτει αὐτόν καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκετο (lxx) 1Sa 10:21 Et applicuit tribum Benjamin et cognationes ejus, et cecidit cognatio Metri: et pervenit usque ad Saul filium Cis. Quæsierunt ergo eum, et non est inventus.(vulgate) 21 ׃10 וַיַּקְרֵ֞ב אֶת־שֵׁ֤בֶט בִּנְיָמִן֙ *למשפחתו **לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֔יו וַתִּלָּכֵ֖ד מִשְׁפַּ֣חַת הַמַּטְרִ֑י וַיִּלָּכֵד֙ שָׁא֣וּל בֶּן־קִ֔ישׁ וַיְבַקְשֻׁ֖הוּ וְלֹ֥א נִמְצָֽא׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:21 Und da er den Stamm Benjamin herzubrachte mit seinen Geschlechtern, ward getroffen das Geschlecht Matris, und ward getroffen Saul, der Sohn des Kis. Und sie suchten ihn; aber sie fanden ihn nicht.(dhs) 1Sa 10:21 When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was chosen. And Saul the son of Kish was chosen. But when they sought him, he could not be found.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:22 ============ 1Sa 10:22 Therefore they inquired further of the Lord, "Has the man come here yet?" So the Lord said, "Behold, he is hiding himself by the baggage."(nas) 1Sa 10:22 καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν Σαμουηλ ἔτι ἐν κυρίῳ εἰ ἔρχεται ὁ ἀνὴρ ἐνταῦθα καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς κέκρυπται ἐν τοῖς σκεύεσιν (lxx) 1Sa 10:22 Et consuluerunt post hæc Dominum utrumnam venturus esset illuc. Responditque Dominus: Ecce absconditus est domi.(vulgate) 22 ׃10 וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ־עוֹד֙ בַּֽיהוָ֔ה הֲבָ֥א ע֖וֹד הֲלֹ֣ם אִ֑ישׁ ס וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֔ה הִנֵּה־ה֥וּא נֶחְבָּ֖א אֶל־הַכֵּלִֽים׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:22 Da fragten sie weiter den HERRN: Wird er auch noch kommen? Der HERR antwortete: Siehe, er hat sich bei dem Geräte versteckt.(dhs) 1Sa 10:22 Therefore they inquired of the Lord further, "Has the man come here yet?" And the Lord answered, "There he is, hidden among the equipment."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:23 ============ 1Sa 10:23 So they ran and took him from there, and when he stood among the people, he was taller than any of the people from his shoulders upward.(nas) 1Sa 10:23 καὶ ἔδραμεν καὶ λαμβάνει αὐτὸν ἐκεῖθεν καὶ κατέστησεν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ὑψώθη ὑπὲρ πάντα τὸν λαὸν ὑπὲρ ὠμίαν καὶ ἐπάνω (lxx) 1Sa 10:23 Cucurrerunt itaque et tulerunt eum inde: stetitque in medio populi, et altior fuit universo populo ab humero et sursum.(vulgate) 23 ׃10 וַיָּרֻ֙צוּ֙ וַיִּקָּחֻ֣הוּ מִשָּׁ֔ם וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֖ב בְּת֣וֹךְ הָעָ֑ם וַיִּגְבַּהּ֙ מִכָּל־הָעָ֔ם מִשִּׁכְמ֖וֹ וָמָֽעְלָה׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:23 Da liefen sie hin und holten ihn von dort. Und da er unter das Volk trat, war er eines Hauptes länger denn alles Volk.(dhs) 1Sa 10:23 So they ran and brought him from there; and when he stood among the people, he was taller than any of the people from his shoulders upward.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:24 ============ 1Sa 10:24 Samuel said to all the people, "Do you see him whom the Lord has chosen? Et clamavit omnis populus, et ait: Vivat rex.(vulgate) 24 ׃10 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֜ל אֶל־כָּל־הָעָ֗ם הַרְּאִיתֶם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּֽחַר־בּ֣וֹ יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֛י אֵ֥ין כָּמֹ֖הוּ בְּכָל־הָעָ֑ם וַיָּרִ֧עוּ כָל־הָעָ֛ם וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ יְחִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ פ Samuel1 1Sa 10:24 Und Samuel sprach zu allem Volk: Da seht ihr, welchen der HERR erwählt hat; denn ihm ist keiner gleich in allem Volk. And Samuel sent all the people away, each one to his house.(nas) 1Sa 10:25 καὶ εἶπεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς τὸν λαὸν τὸ δικαίωμα τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἔγραψεν ἐν βιβλίῳ καὶ ἔθηκεν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Σαμουηλ πάντα τὸν λαόν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Sa 10:25 Locutus est autem Samuel ad populum legem regni, et scripsit in libro, et reposuit coram Domino: et dimisit Samuel omnem populum, singulos in domum suam.(vulgate) 25 ׃10 וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר שְׁמוּאֵ֜ל אֶל־הָעָ֗ם אֵ֚ת מִשְׁפַּ֣ט הַמְּלֻכָ֔ה וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב בַּסֵּ֔פֶר וַיַּנַּ֖ח לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיְשַׁלַּ֧ח שְׁמוּאֵ֛ל אֶת־כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אִ֥ישׁ לְבֵיתֽוֹ׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:25 Samuel aber sagte dem Volk alle Rechte des Königreiches und schrieb es in ein Buch und legte es vor den HERRN. Und Samuel ließ alles Volk gehen, einen jeglichen in sein Haus.(dhs) 1Sa 10:25 Then Samuel explained to the people the behavior of royalty, and wrote it in a book and laid it up before the Lord. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:26 ============ 1Sa 10:26 Saul also went to his house at Gibeah; and the valiant men whose hearts God had touched went with him.(nas) 1Sa 10:26 καὶ Σαουλ ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ εἰς Γαβαα καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν υἱοὶ δυνάμεων ὧν ἥψατο κύριος καρδίας αὐτῶν μετὰ Σαουλ (lxx) 1Sa 10:26 Sed et Saul abiit in domum suam in Gabaa: et abiit cum eo pars exercitus, quorum tetigerat Deus corda.(vulgate) 26 ׃10 וְגַ֨ם־שָׁא֔וּל הָלַ֥ךְ לְבֵית֖וֹ גִּבְעָ֑תָה וַיֵּלְכ֣וּ עִמּ֔וֹ הַחַ֕יִל אֲשֶׁר־נָגַ֥ע אֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּלִבָּֽם׃ Samuel1 1Sa 10:26 Und Saul ging auch heim gen Gibea, und ging mit ihm des Heeres ein Teil, welcher Herz Gott rührte.(dhs) 1Sa 10:26 And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and valiant men went with him, whose hearts God had touched.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 10:27 ============ 1Sa 10:27 But certain worthless men said, "How can this one deliver us?" And they despised him and did not bring him any present. But he kept silent.(nas) 1Sa 10:27 καὶ υἱοὶ λοιμοὶ εἶπαν τί σώσει ἡμᾶς οὗτος καὶ ἠτίμασαν αὐτὸν καὶ οὐκ ἤνεγκαν αὐτῷ δῶρα (lxx) 1Sa 10:27 Filii vero Belial dixerunt: Num salvare nos poterit iste? Et despexerunt eum, et non attulerunt ei munera: ille vero dissimulabat se audire.(vulgate) 27 ׃10 וּבְנֵ֧י בְלִיַּ֣עַל אָמְר֗וּ מַה־יֹּשִׁעֵ֙נוּ֙ זֶ֔ה וַיִּבְזֻ֕הוּ וְלֹֽא־הֵבִ֥יאוּ ל֖וֹ מִנְחָ֑ה וַיְהִ֖י כְּמַחֲרִֽישׁ׃ פ Samuel1 1Sa 10:27 Aber etliche lose Leute sprachen: Was sollte uns dieser helfen? und verachteten ihn und brachten ihm kein Geschenk. Er aber tat, als hörte er's nicht.(dhs) 1Sa 10:27 But some rebels said, "How can this man save us?" So they despised him, and brought him no presents.
