Today's Date: ======= 2 Samuel 19:1 ============ 2Sa 19:1 Then it was told Joab, "Behold, the king is weeping and mourns for Absalom."(nas) 2Sa 19:1 καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τῷ Ιωαβ λέγοντες ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεὺς κλαίει καὶ πενθεῖ ἐπὶ Αβεσσαλωμ (lxx) 2Sa 19:1 Nuntiatum est autem Joab quod rex fleret et lugeret filium suum,(vulgate) 2 ׃19 וַיֻּגַּ֖ד לְיוֹאָ֑ב הִנֵּ֨ה הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ בֹּכֶ֛ה וַיִּתְאַבֵּ֖ל עַל־אַבְשָׁלֹֽם׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:1 Und es ward Joab angesagt: Siehe, der König weint und trägt Leid um Absalom.(dhs) 2Sa 19:1 And Joab was told, "Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:2 ============ 2Sa 19:2 The victory that day was turned to mourning for all the people, for the people heard it said that day, "The king is grieved for his son."(nas) 2Sa 19:2 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ σωτηρία ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ εἰς πένθος παντὶ τῷ λαῷ ὅτι ἤκουσεν ὁ λαὸς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ λέγων ὅτι λυπεῖται ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ τῷ υἱῷ αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Sa 19:2 et versa est victoria in luctum in die illa omni populo: audivit enim populus in die illa dici: Dolet rex super filio suo.(vulgate) 3 ׃19 וַתְּהִ֨י הַתְּשֻׁעָ֜ה בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֛וּא לְאֵ֖בֶל לְכָל־הָעָ֑ם כִּֽי־שָׁמַ֣ע הָעָ֗ם בַּיּ֤וֹם הַהוּא֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר נֶעֱצַ֥ב הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ עַל־בְּנֽוֹ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:2 Und es ward aus dem Sieg des Tages ein Leid unter dem ganzen Volk; denn das Volk hatte gehört des Tages, daß sich der König um seinen Sohn bekümmerte.(dhs) 2Sa 19:2 So the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people. For the people heard it said that day, "The king is grieved for his son."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:3 ============ 2Sa 19:3 So the people went by stealth into the city that day, as people who are humiliated steal away when they flee in battle.(nas) 2Sa 19:3 καὶ διεκλέπτετο ὁ λαὸς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν πόλιν καθὼς διακλέπτεται ὁ λαὸς οἱ αἰσχυνόμενοι ἐν τῷ αὐτοὺς φεύγειν ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ (lxx) 2Sa 19:3 Et declinavit populus in die illa ingredi civitatem, quomodo declinare solet populus versus et fugiens de prælio.(vulgate) 4 ׃19 וַיִּתְגַּנֵּ֥ב הָעָ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא לָב֣וֹא הָעִ֑יר כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יִתְגַּנֵּ֗ב הָעָם֙ הַנִּכְלָמִ֔ים בְּנוּסָ֖ם בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:3 Und das Volk stahl sich weg an dem Tage in die Stadt, wie sich ein Volk wegstiehlt, das zu Schanden geworden ist, wenn's im Streit geflohen ist.(dhs) 2Sa 19:3 And the people stole back into the city that day, as people who are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:4 ============ 2Sa 19:4 The king covered his face and cried out with a loud voice, "O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!"(nas) 2Sa 19:4 καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἔκρυψεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔκραξεν ὁ βασιλεὺς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων υἱέ μου Αβεσσαλωμ Αβεσσαλωμ υἱέ μου (lxx) 2Sa 19:4 Porro rex operuit caput suum, et clamabat voce magna: Fili mi Absalom, Absalom fili mi, fili mi.(vulgate) 5 ׃19 וְהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ לָאַ֣ט אֶת־פָּנָ֔יו וַיִּזְעַ֥ק הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ ק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל בְּנִי֙ אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם בְּנִ֥י בְנִֽי׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 19:4 Der König aber hatte sein Angesicht verhüllt und schrie laut: Ach, mein Sohn Absalom! Absalom, mein Sohn, mein Sohn!(dhs) 2Sa 19:4 But the king covered his face, and the king cried out with a loud voice, "O my son Absalom! O Absalom, my son, my son!"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:5 ============ 2Sa 19:5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "Today you have covered with shame the faces of all your servants, who today have saved your life and the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines,(nas) 2Sa 19:5 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ιωαβ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα εἰς τὸν οἶκον καὶ εἶπεν κατῄσχυνας σήμερον τὸ πρόσωπον πάντων τῶν δούλων σου τῶν ἐξαιρουμένων σε σήμερον καὶ τὴν ψυχὴν τῶν υἱῶν σου καὶ τῶν θυγατέρων σου καὶ τὴν ψυχὴν τῶν γυναικῶν σου καὶ τῶν παλλακῶν σου (lxx) 2Sa 19:5 Ingressus ergo Joab ad regem in domum, dixit: Confudisti hodie vultus omnium servorum tuorum, qui salvam fecerunt animam tuam, et animam filiorum tuorum et filiarum tuarum, et animam uxorum tuarum, et animam concubinarum tuarum.(vulgate) 6 ׃19 וַיָּבֹ֥א יוֹאָ֛ב אֶל־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ הַבָּ֑יִת וַיֹּאמֶר֩ הֹבַ֨שְׁתָּ הַיּ֜וֹם אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י כָל־עֲבָדֶ֗יךָ הַֽמְמַלְּטִ֤ים אֶֽת־נַפְשְׁךָ֙ הַיּ֔וֹם וְאֵ֨ת נֶ֤פֶשׁ בָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ וּבְנֹתֶ֔יךָ וְנֶ֣פֶשׁ נָשֶׁ֔יךָ וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ פִּלַגְשֶֽׁיךָ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:5 Joab aber kam zum König ins Haus und sprach: Du hast heute schamrot gemacht alle deine Knechte, die heute deine, deiner Söhne, deiner Töchter, deiner Weiber und deiner Kebsweiber Seele errettet haben,(dhs) 2Sa 19:5 Then Joab came into the house to the king, and said, "Today you have disgraced all your servants who today have saved your life, the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives and the lives of your concubines,(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:6 ============ 2Sa 19:6 by loving those who hate you, and by hating those who love you. For you have shown today that princes and servants are nothing to you; for I know this day that if Absalom were alive and all of us were dead today, then you would be pleased.(nas) 2Sa 19:6 τοῦ ἀγαπᾶν τοὺς μισοῦντάς σε καὶ μισεῖν τοὺς ἀγαπῶντάς σε καὶ ἀνήγγειλας σήμερον ὅτι οὔκ εἰσιν οἱ ἄρχοντές σου οὐδὲ παῖδες ὅτι ἔγνωκα σήμερον ὅτι εἰ Αβεσσαλωμ ἔζη πάντες ἡμεῖς σήμερον νεκροί ὅτι τότε τὸ εὐθὲς ἦν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου (lxx) 2Sa 19:6 Diligis odientes te, et odio habes diligentes te: et ostendisti hodie quia non curas de ducibus tuis et de servis tuis: et vere cognovi modo, quia si Absalom viveret, et omnes nos occubuissemus, tunc placeret tibi.(vulgate) 7 ׃19 לְאַֽהֲבָה֙ אֶת־שֹׂ֣נְאֶ֔יךָ וְלִשְׂנֹ֖א אֶת־אֹהֲבֶ֑יךָ כִּ֣י ׀ הִגַּ֣דְתָּ הַיּ֗וֹם כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין לְךָ֙ שָׂרִ֣ים וַעֲבָדִ֔ים כִּ֣י ׀ יָדַ֣עְתִּי הַיּ֗וֹם כִּ֠י *לא **ל֣וּ אַבְשָׁל֥וֹם חַי֙ וְכֻלָּ֤נוּ הַיּוֹם֙ מֵתִ֔ים כִּי־אָ֖ז יָשָׁ֥ר בְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:6 daß du liebhast, die dich hassen, und haßt, die dich liebhaben. Denn du läßt heute merken, daß dir's nicht gelegen ist an den Hauptleuten und Knechten. Denn ich merke heute wohl: wenn dir nur Absalom lebte und wir heute alle tot wären, das wäre dir recht.(dhs) 2Sa 19:6 in that you love your enemies and hate your friends. For you have declared today that you regard neither princes nor servants; for today I perceive that if Absalom had lived and all of us had died today, then it would have pleased you well.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:7 ============ 2Sa 19:7 Now therefore arise, go out and speak kindly to your servants, for I swear by the Lord, if you do not go out, surely not a man will pass the night with you, and this will be worse for you than all the evil that has come upon you from your youth until now."(nas) 2Sa 19:7 καὶ νῦν ἀναστὰς ἔξελθε καὶ λάλησον εἰς τὴν καρδίαν τῶν δούλων σου ὅτι ἐν κυρίῳ ὤμοσα ὅτι εἰ μὴ ἐκπορεύσῃ σήμερον εἰ αὐλισθήσεται ἀνὴρ μετὰ σοῦ τὴν νύκτα ταύτην καὶ ἐπίγνωθι σεαυτῷ καὶ κακόν σοι τοῦτο ὑπὲρ πᾶν τὸ κακὸν τὸ ἐπελθόν σοι ἐκ νεότητός σου ἕως τοῦ νῦν (lxx) 2Sa 19:7 Nunc igitur surge, et procede, et alloquens satisfac servis tuis: juro enim tibi per Dominum quod si non exieris, ne unus quidem remansurus sit tecum nocte hac: et pejus erit hoc tibi quam omnia mala quæ venerunt super te ab adolescentia tua usque in præsens.~(vulgate) 8 ׃19 וְעַתָּה֙ ק֣וּם צֵ֔א וְדַבֵּ֖ר עַל־לֵ֣ב עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ כִּי֩ בַיהוָ֨ה נִשְׁבַּ֜עְתִּי כִּי־אֵינְךָ֣ יוֹצֵ֗א אִם־יָלִ֨ין אִ֤ישׁ אִתְּךָ֙ הַלַּ֔יְלָה וְרָעָ֧ה לְךָ֣ זֹ֗את מִכָּל־הָרָעָה֙ אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אָה עָלֶ֔יךָ מִנְּעֻרֶ֖יךָ עַד־עָֽתָּה׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 19:7 So mache dich nun auf und gehe heraus und rede mit deinen Knechten freundlich. Denn ich schwöre dir bei dem HERRN: Wirst du nicht herausgehen, es wird kein Mann bei dir bleiben diese Nacht über. Das wird dir ärger sein denn alles Übel, das über dich gekommen ist von deiner Jugend auf bis hierher.(dhs) 2Sa 19:7 Now therefore, arise, go out and speak comfort to your servants. For I swear by the Lord, if you do not go out, not one will stay with you this night. And that will be worse for you than all the evil that has befallen you from your youth until now."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:8 ============ 2Sa 19:8 So the king arose and sat in the gate. When they told all the people, saying, "Behold, the king is sitting in the gate," then all the people came before the king. Now Israel had fled, each to his tent.(nas) 2Sa 19:8 καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν τῇ πύλῃ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀνήγγειλαν λέγοντες ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεὺς κάθηται ἐν τῇ πύλῃ καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ Ισραηλ ἔφυγεν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὰ σκηνώματα αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Sa 19:8 Surrexit ergo rex et sedit in porta: et omni populo nuntiatum est quod rex sederet in porta. Venitque universa multitudo coram rege: Israël autem fugit in tabernacula sua.(vulgate) 9 ׃19 וַיָּ֥קָם הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב בַּשָּׁ֑עַר וּֽלְכָל־הָעָ֞ם הִגִּ֣ידוּ לֵאמֹ֗ר הִנֵּ֤ה הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בַּשַּׁ֔עַר וַיָּבֹ֤א כָל־הָעָם֙ לִפְנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נָ֖ס אִ֥ישׁ לְאֹהָלָֽיו׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 19:8 Da machte sich der König auf und setzte sich ins Tor. Und man sagte es allem Volk: Siehe, der König sitzt im Tor. Da kam alles Volk vor den König. Aber Israel war geflohen, ein jeglicher in seine Hütte.(dhs) 2Sa 19:8 Then the king arose and sat in the gate. And they told all the people, saying, "There is the king, sitting in the gate." So all the people came before the king. For everyone of Israel had fled to his tent.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:9 ============ 2Sa 19:9 All the people were quarreling throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, "The king delivered us from the hand of our enemies and saved us from the hand of the Philistines, but now he has fled out of the land from Absalom.(nas) 2Sa 19:9 καὶ ἦν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς κρινόμενος ἐν πάσαις φυλαῖς Ισραηλ λέγοντες ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυιδ ἐρρύσατο ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν ἡμῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξείλατο ἡμᾶς ἐκ χειρὸς ἀλλοφύλων καὶ νῦν πέφευγεν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Αβεσσαλωμ (lxx) 2Sa 19:9 Omnis quoque populus certabat in cunctis tribubus Israël, dicens: Rex liberavit nos de manu inimicorum nostrorum; ipse salvavit nos de manu Philisthinorum: et nunc fugit de terra propter Absalom.(vulgate) 10 ׃19 וַיְהִ֤י כָל־הָעָם֙ נָד֔וֹן בְּכָל־שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ הִצִּילָ֣נוּ ׀ מִכַּ֣ף אֹיְבֵ֗ינוּ וְה֤וּא מִלְּטָ֙נוּ֙ מִכַּ֣ף פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וְעַתָּ֛ה בָּרַ֥ח מִן־הָאָ֖רֶץ מֵעַ֥ל אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:9 Und es zankte sich alles Volk in allen Stämmen Israels und sprachen: Der König hat uns errettet von der Hand unsrer Feinde und erlöste uns von der Philister Hand und hat müssen aus dem Lande fliehen vor Absalom.(dhs) 2Sa 19:9 Now all the people were in a dispute throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, "The king saved us from the hand of our enemies, he delivered us from the hand of the Philistines, and now he has fled from the land because of Absalom.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:10 ============ 2Sa 19:10 However, Absalom, whom we anointed over us, has died in battle. Now then, why are you silent about bringing the king back?"(nas) 2Sa 19:10 καὶ Αβεσσαλωμ ὃν ἐχρίσαμεν ἐφ᾽ ἡμῶν ἀπέθανεν ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ καὶ νῦν ἵνα τί ὑμεῖς κωφεύετε τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι τὸν βασιλέα καὶ τὸ ῥῆμα παντὸς Ισραηλ ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα (lxx) 2Sa 19:10 Absalom autem, quem unximus super nos, mortuus est in bello: usquequo siletis, et non reducitis regem?(vulgate) 11 ׃19 וְאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר מָשַׁ֣חְנוּ עָלֵ֔ינוּ מֵ֖ת בַּמִּלְחָמָ֑ה וְעַתָּ֗ה לָמָ֥ה אַתֶּ֛ם מַחֲרִשִׁ֖ים לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֶת־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 19:10 So ist Absalom, den wir über uns gesalbt hatten, gestorben im Streit. Warum seid ihr so nun still, daß ihr den König nicht wieder holet?(dhs) 2Sa 19:10 But Absalom, whom we anointed over us, has died in battle. Now therefore, why do you say nothing about bringing back the king?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:11 ============ 2Sa 19:11 Then King David sent to Zadok and Abiathar the priests, saying, "Speak to the elders of Judah, saying, 'Why are you the last to bring the king back to his house, since the word of all Israel has come to the king, even to his house?(nas) 2Sa 19:11 καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυιδ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς Σαδωκ καὶ πρὸς Αβιαθαρ τοὺς ἱερεῖς λέγων λαλήσατε πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Ιουδα λέγοντες ἵνα τί γίνεσθε ἔσχατοι τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι τὸν βασιλέα εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ καὶ λόγος παντὸς Ισραηλ ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα (lxx) 2Sa 19:11 Rex vero David misit ad Sadoc et Abiathar sacerdotes, dicens: Loquimini ad majores natu Juda, dicentes: Cur venitis novissimi ad reducendum regem in domum suam? (Sermo autem omnis Israël pervenerat ad regem in domo ejus.)(vulgate) 12 ׃19 וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ דָּוִ֗ד שָׁ֠לַח אֶל־צָד֨וֹק וְאֶל־אֶבְיָתָ֥ר הַכֹּהֲנִים֮ לֵאמֹר֒ דַּבְּר֞וּ אֶל־זִקְנֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לָ֤מָּה תִֽהְיוּ֙ אַֽחֲרֹנִ֔ים לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֶת־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶל־בֵּית֑וֹ וּדְבַר֙ כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בָּ֥א אֶל־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶל־בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:11 Der König aber sandte zu Zadok und Abjathar, den Priestern, und ließ ihnen sagen: Redet mit den Ältesten in Juda und sprecht: Warum wollt ihr die letzten sein, den König wieder zu holen in sein Haus? (Denn die Rede des ganzen Israel war vor den König gekommen in sein Haus.)(dhs) 2Sa 19:11 So King David sent to Zadok and Abiathar the priests, saying, "Speak to the elders of Judah, saying, 'Why are you the last to bring the king back to his house, since the words of all Israel have come to the king, to his very house?(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:12 ============ 2Sa 19:12 You are my brothers; you are my bone and my flesh. Why then should you be the last to bring back the king?'(nas) 2Sa 19:12 ἀδελφοί μου ὑμεῖς ὀστᾶ μου καὶ σάρκες μου ὑμεῖς καὶ ἵνα τί γίνεσθε ἔσχατοι τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι τὸν βασιλέα εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Sa 19:12 Fratres mei vos, os meum, et caro mea vos, quare novissimi reducitis regem?(vulgate) 13 ׃19 אַחַ֣י אַתֶּ֔ם עַצְמִ֥י וּבְשָׂרִ֖י אַתֶּ֑ם וְלָ֧מָּה תִהְי֛וּ אַחֲרֹנִ֖ים לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֶת־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:12 Ihr seid meine Brüder, mein Bein und mein Fleisch; warum wollt ihr denn die letzten sein, den König wieder zu holen?(dhs) 2Sa 19:12 You are my brethren, you are my bone and my flesh. Why then are you the last to bring back the king?'(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:13 ============ 2Sa 19:13 Say to Amasa, 'Are you not my bone and my flesh? May God do so to me, and more also, if you will not be commander of the army before me continually in place of Joab.'"(nas) 2Sa 19:13 καὶ τῷ Αμεσσαϊ ἐρεῖτε οὐχὶ ὀστοῦν μου καὶ σάρξ μου σύ καὶ νῦν τάδε ποιήσαι μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τάδε προσθείη εἰ μὴ ἄρχων δυνάμεως ἔσῃ ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἀντὶ Ιωαβ (lxx) 2Sa 19:13 Et Amasæ dicite: Nonne os meum, et caro mea es? hæc faciat mihi Deus, et hæc addat, si non magister militiæ fueris coram me omni tempore pro Joab.~(vulgate) 14 ׃19 וְלַֽעֲמָשָׂא֙ תֹּֽמְר֔וּ הֲל֛וֹא עַצְמִ֥י וּבְשָׂרִ֖י אָ֑תָּה כֹּ֣ה יַֽעֲשֶׂה־לִּ֤י אֱלֹהִים֙ וְכֹ֣ה יוֹסִ֔יף אִם־לֹ֠א שַׂר־צָבָ֞א תִּהְיֶ֧ה לְפָנַ֛י כָּל־הַיָּמִ֖ים תַּ֥חַת יוֹאָֽב׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:13 Und zu Amasa sprecht: Bist du nicht mein Bein und mein Fleisch? Gott tue mir dies und das, wo du nicht sollst sein Feldhauptmann vor mir dein Leben lang an Joabs Statt.(dhs) 2Sa 19:13 And say to Amasa, 'Are you not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if you are not commander of the army before me continually in place of Joab.' And Judah came to Gilgal in order to go to meet the king, to bring the king across the Jordan.(nas) 2Sa 19:15 καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἄνδρες Ιουδα ἦλθαν εἰς Γαλγαλα τοῦ πορεύεσθαι εἰς ἀπαντὴν τοῦ βασιλέως διαβιβάσαι τὸν βασιλέα τὸν Ιορδάνην (lxx) 2Sa 19:15 Et reversus est rex, et venit usque ad Jordanem: et omnis Juda venit usque in Galgalam ut occurreret regi, et traduceret eum Jordanem.(vulgate) 16 ׃19 וַיָּ֣שָׁב הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיָּבֹ֖א עַד־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וִיהוּדָ֞ה בָּ֣א הַגִּלְגָּ֗לָה לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ לִקְרַ֣את הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לְהַעֲבִ֥יר אֶת־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:15 Also kam der König wieder. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king as he was about to cross the Jordan.(nas) 2Sa 19:18 καὶ ἐλειτούργησαν τὴν λειτουργίαν τοῦ διαβιβάσαι τὸν βασιλέα καὶ διέβη ἡ διάβασις ἐξεγεῖραι τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ καὶ Σεμεϊ υἱὸς Γηρα ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως διαβαίνοντος αὐτοῦ τὸν Ιορδάνην (lxx) 2Sa 19:18 transierunt vada, ut traducerent domum regis, et facerent juxta jussionem ejus: Semei autem filius Gera prostratus coram rege, cum jam transisset Jordanem,(vulgate) 19 ׃19 וְעָבְרָ֣ה הָעֲבָרָ֗ה לַֽעֲבִיר֙ אֶת־בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְלַעֲשׂ֥וֹת הַטּ֖וֹב *בעינו **בְּעֵינָ֑יו וְשִׁמְעִ֣י בֶן־גֵּרָ֗א נָפַל֙ לִפְנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ בְּעָבְר֖וֹ בַּיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:18 und die Fähre war hinübergegangen, daß sie das Gesinde des Königs hinüberführten und täten, was ihm gefiel. Simei aber, der Sohn Geras, fiel vor dem König nieder, da er über den Jordan fuhr,(dhs) 2Sa 19:18 Then a ferryboat went across to carry over the king's household, and to do what he thought good.Now Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king when he had crossed the Jordan.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:19 ============ 2Sa 19:19 So he said to the king, "Let not my lord consider me guilty, nor remember what your servant did wrong on the day when my lord the king came out from Jerusalem, so that the king would take it to heart.(nas) 2Sa 19:19 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα μὴ διαλογισάσθω ὁ κύριός μου ἀνομίαν καὶ μὴ μνησθῇς ὅσα ἠδίκησεν ὁ παῖς σου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ὁ κύριός μου ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐξεπορεύετο ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ τοῦ θέσθαι τὸν βασιλέα εἰς τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Sa 19:19 dixit ad eum: Ne reputes mihi, domine mi, iniquitatem, neque memineris injuriarum servi tui in die qua egressus es, domine mi rex, de Jerusalem, neque ponas, rex, in corde tuo.(vulgate) 20 ׃19 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ אַל־יַחֲשָׁב־לִ֣י אֲדֹנִי֮ עָוֺן֒ וְאַל־תִּזְכֹּ֗ר אֵ֚ת אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֶעֱוָ֣ה עַבְדְּךָ֔ בַּיּ֕וֹם אֲשֶׁר־יָׄצָ֥ׄאׄ[4] אֲדֹנִֽי־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מִירֽוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם לָשׂ֥וּם הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶל־לִבּֽוֹ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:19 und sprach zum König: Mein Herr, rechne mir nicht zu die Missetat und gedenke nicht, daß dein Knecht dich beleidigte des Tages, da mein Herr, der König, aus Jerusalem ging, und der König nehme es nicht zu Herzen.(dhs) 2Sa 19:19 Then he said to the king, "Do not let my lord impute iniquity to me, or remember what wrong your servant did on the day that my lord the king left Jerusalem, that the king should take it to heart.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:20 ============ 2Sa 19:20 For your servant knows that I have sinned; therefore behold, I have come today, the first of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king."(nas) 2Sa 19:20 ὅτι ἔγνω ὁ δοῦλός σου ὅτι ἐγὼ ἥμαρτον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἦλθον σήμερον πρότερος παντὸς οἴκου Ιωσηφ τοῦ καταβῆναι εἰς ἀπαντὴν τοῦ κυρίου μου τοῦ βασιλέως (lxx) 2Sa 19:20 Agnosco enim servus tuus peccatum meum: et idcirco hodie primus veni de omni domo Joseph, descendique in occursum domini mei regis.(vulgate) 21 ׃19 כִּ֚י יָדַ֣ע עַבְדְּךָ֔ כִּ֖י אֲנִ֣י חָטָ֑אתִי וְהִנֵּֽה־בָ֣אתִי הַיּ֗וֹם רִאשׁוֹן֙ לְכָל־בֵּ֣ית יוֹסֵ֔ף לָרֶ֕דֶת לִקְרַ֖את אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 19:20 Denn dein Knecht erkennt, daß ich gesündigt habe. Und siehe, ich bin heute zuerst gekommen unter dem ganzen Hause Joseph, daß ich meinen Herrn, dem König, entgegen herabzöge.(dhs) 2Sa 19:20 For I, your servant, know that I have sinned. Therefore here I am, the first to come today of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:21 ============ 2Sa 19:21 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah said, "Should not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the Lord's anointed?"(nas) 2Sa 19:21 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Αβεσσα υἱὸς Σαρουιας καὶ εἶπεν μὴ ἀντὶ τούτου οὐ θανατωθήσεται Σεμεϊ ὅτι κατηράσατο τὸν χριστὸν κυρίου (lxx) 2Sa 19:21 Respondens vero Abisai filius Sarviæ, dixit: Numquid pro his verbis non occidetur Semei, quia maledixit christo Domini?(vulgate) 22 ׃19 וַיַּ֨עַן אֲבִישַׁ֤י בֶּן־צְרוּיָה֙ וַיֹּ֔אמֶר הֲתַ֣חַת זֹ֔את לֹ֥א יוּמַ֖ת שִׁמְעִ֑י כִּ֥י קִלֵּ֖ל אֶת־מְשִׁ֥יחַ יְהוָֽה׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 19:21 Aber Abisai, der Zeruja Sohn, antwortete und sprach: Und Simei sollte darum nicht sterben, so er doch dem Gesalbten des HERRN geflucht hat?(dhs) 2Sa 19:21 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, "Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the Lord's anointed?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:22 ============ 2Sa 19:22 David then said, "What have I to do with you, O sons of Zeruiah, that you should this day be an adversary to me? Should any man be put to death in Israel today? For do I not know that I am king over Israel today?"(nas) 2Sa 19:22 καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ τί ἐμοὶ καὶ ὑμῖν υἱοὶ Σαρουιας ὅτι γίνεσθέ μοι σήμερον εἰς ἐπίβουλον σήμερον οὐ θανατωθήσεταί τις ἀνὴρ ἐξ Ισραηλ ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα εἰ σήμερον βασιλεύω ἐγὼ ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Sa 19:22 Et ait David: Quid mihi et vobis, filii Sarviæ? cur efficimini mihi hodie in satan? ergone hodie interficietur vir in Israël? an ignoro hodie me factum regem super Israël?(vulgate) 23 ׃19 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֗ד מַה־לִּ֤י וְלָכֶם֙ בְּנֵ֣י צְרוּיָ֔ה כִּי־תִֽהְיוּ־לִ֥י הַיּ֖וֹם לְשָׂטָ֑ן הַיּ֗וֹם י֤וּמַת אִישׁ֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֚י הֲל֣וֹא יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּ֥י הַיּ֖וֹם אֲנִי־מֶ֥לֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:22 David aber sprach: Was habe ich mit euch zu schaffen, ihr Kinder der Zeruja, daß ihr mir heute wollt zum Satan werden? Sollte heute jemand sterben in Israel? Meinst du, ich wisse nicht, daß ich heute bin König geworden über Israel?(dhs) 2Sa 19:22 And David said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should be adversaries to me today? And the king swore to him.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:24 ============ 2Sa 19:24 Then Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king; and he had neither cared for his feet, nor trimmed his mustache, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace.(nas) 2Sa 19:24 καὶ Μεμφιβοσθε υἱὸς Ιωναθαν υἱοῦ Σαουλ κατέβη εἰς ἀπαντὴν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ οὐκ ἐθεράπευσεν τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ὠνυχίσατο οὐδὲ ἐποίησεν τὸν μύστακα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἔπλυνεν ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς ἀπῆλθεν ὁ βασιλεύς ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς αὐτὸς παρεγένετο ἐν εἰρήνῃ (lxx) 2Sa 19:24 Miphiboseth quoque filius Saul descendit in occursum regis, illotis pedibus et intonsa barba: vestesque suas non laverat a die qua egressus fuerat rex, usque ad diem reversionis ejus in pace.(vulgate) 25 ׃19 וּמְפִבֹ֙שֶׁת֙ בֶּן־שָׁא֔וּל יָרַ֖ד לִקְרַ֣את הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְלֹא־עָשָׂ֨ה רַגְלָ֜יו וְלֹא־עָשָׂ֣ה שְׂפָמ֗וֹ וְאֶת־בְּגָדָיו֙ לֹ֣א כִבֵּ֔ס לְמִן־הַיּוֹם֙ לֶ֣כֶת הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ עַד־הַיּ֖וֹם אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֥א בְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:24 Mephiboseth, der Sohn Sauls, kam auch herab, dem König entgegen. Und er hatte seine Füße und seinen Bart nicht gereinigt und seine Kleider nicht gewaschen von dem Tage an, da der König weggegangen war, bis an den Tag, da er mit Frieden kam.(dhs) 2Sa 19:24 Now Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king. And he had not cared for his feet, nor trimmed his mustache, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he returned in peace.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:25 ============ 2Sa 19:25 It was when he came from Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said to him, "Why did you not go with me, Mephibosheth?"(nas) 2Sa 19:25 καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε εἰσῆλθεν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ εἰς ἀπάντησιν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ βασιλεύς τί ὅτι οὐκ ἐπορεύθης μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ Μεμφιβοσθε (lxx) 2Sa 19:25 Cumque Jerusalem occurrisset regi, dixit ei rex: Quare non venisti mecum, Miphiboseth?(vulgate) 26 ׃19 וַיְהִ֛י כִּי־בָ֥א יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם לִקְרַ֣את הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לָ֛מָּה לֹא־הָלַ֥כְתָּ עִמִּ֖י מְפִיבֹֽשֶׁת׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:25 Da er nun von Jerusalem kam, dem König zu begegnen, sprach der König zu ihm: Warum bist du nicht mit mir gezogen, Mephiboseth?(dhs) 2Sa 19:25 So it was, when he had come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said to him, "Why did you not go with me, Mephibosheth?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:26 ============ 2Sa 19:26 So he answered, "O my lord, the king, my servant deceived me; for your servant said, 'I will saddle a donkey for myself that I may ride on it and go with the king,' because your servant is lame.(nas) 2Sa 19:26 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Μεμφιβοσθε κύριέ μου βασιλεῦ ὁ δοῦλός μου παρελογίσατό με ὅτι εἶπεν ὁ παῖς σου αὐτῷ ἐπίσαξόν μοι τὴν ὄνον καὶ ἐπιβῶ ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν καὶ πορεύσομαι μετὰ τοῦ βασιλέως ὅτι χωλὸς ὁ δοῦλός σου (lxx) 2Sa 19:26 Et respondens ait: Domine mi rex, servus meus contempsit me: dixique ei ego famulus tuus ut sterneret mihi asinum, et ascendens abirem cum rege: claudus enim sum servus tuus.(vulgate) 27 ׃19 וַיֹּאמַ֕ר אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ עַבְדִּ֣י רִמָּ֑נִי כִּֽי־אָמַ֨ר עַבְדְּךָ֜ אֶחְבְּשָׁה־לִּי֩ הַחֲמ֨וֹר וְאֶרְכַּ֤ב עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ וְאֵלֵ֣ךְ אֶת־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ כִּ֥י פִסֵּ֖חַ עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:26 Und er sprach: Mein Herr König, mein Knecht hat mich betrogen. For your servant said, 'I will saddle a donkey for myself, that I may ride on it and go to the king,' because your servant is lame.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 19:27 ============ 2Sa 19:27 Moreover, he has slandered your servant to my lord the king; but my lord the king is like the angel of God, therefore do what is good in your sight.(nas) 2Sa 19:27 καὶ μεθώδευσεν ἐν τῷ δούλῳ σου πρὸς τὸν κύριόν μου τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ὁ κύριός μου ὁ βασιλεὺς ὡς ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ποίησον τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου (lxx) 2Sa 19:27 Insuper et accusavit me servum tuum ad te dominum meum regem: tu autem, domine mi rex, sicut angelus Dei es: fac quod placitum est tibi.(vulgate) 28 ׃19 וַיְרַגֵּ֣ל בְּעַבְדְּךָ֔ אֶל־אֲדֹנִ֖י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַאדֹנִ֤י הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ כְּמַלְאַ֣ךְ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וַעֲשֵׂ֥ה הַטּ֖וֹב בְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 19:27 Dazu hat er deinen Knecht angegeben vor meinem Herrn, dem König. Why then are you angry about this matter? Why then are you angry over this matter? Have we ever eaten at the king's expense? Yet the words of the men of Judah were harsher than the words of the men of Israel.(nas) 2Sa 19:43 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ τῷ ἀνδρὶ Ιουδα καὶ εἶπεν δέκα χεῖρές μοι ἐν τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ πρωτότοκος ἐγὼ ἢ σύ καί γε ἐν τῷ Δαυιδ εἰμὶ ὑπὲρ σέ καὶ ἵνα τί τοῦτο ὕβρισάς με καὶ οὐκ ἐλογίσθη ὁ λόγος μου πρῶτός μοι τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι τὸν βασιλέα ἐμοί καὶ ἐσκληρύνθη ὁ λόγος ἀνδρὸς Ιουδα ὑπὲρ τὸν λόγον ἀνδρὸς Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Sa 19:43 Et respondit vir Israël ad viros Juda, et ait: Decem partibus major ego sum apud regem, magisque ad me pertinet David quam ad te: cur fecisti mihi injuriam, et non mihi nuntiatum est priori, ut reducerem regem meum? Durius autem responderunt viri Juda viris Israël.(vulgate) 44 ׃19 וַיַּ֣עַן אִֽישׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֩ אֶת־אִ֨ישׁ יְהוּדָ֜ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר עֶֽשֶׂר־יָד֨וֹת לִ֣י בַמֶּלֶךְ֮ וְגַם־בְּדָוִד֮ אֲנִ֣י מִמְּךָ֒ וּמַדּ֙וּעַ֙ הֱקִלֹּתַ֔נִי וְלֹא־הָיָ֨ה דְבָרִ֥י רִאשׁ֛וֹן לִ֖י לְהָשִׁ֣יב אֶת־מַלְכִּ֑י וַיִּ֙קֶשׁ֙ דְּבַר־אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִדְּבַ֖ר אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 19:43 So antworteten dann die von Israel denen von Juda und sprachen: Wir haben zehnmal mehr beim König, dazu auch bei David, denn ihr. Warum hast du mich denn so gering geachtet? Und haben wir nicht zuerst davon geredet, uns unsern König zu holen?
