Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 44:1 ============ Isa 44:1 "But now listen, O Jacob, My servant, And Israel, whom I have chosen:(nas) Isa 44:1 νῦν δὲ ἄκουσον παῖς μου Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ ὃν ἐξελεξάμην (lxx) Isa 44:1 [Et nunc audi, Jacob, serve meus, et Israël, quem elegi.(vulgate) 1 ׃44 וְעַתָּ֥ה שְׁמַ֖ע יַעֲקֹ֣ב עַבְדִּ֑י וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בָּחַ֥רְתִּי בֽוֹ׃ Isaiah Isa 44:1 So höre nun, mein Knecht Jakob, und Israel, den ich erwählt habe!(dhs) Isa 44:1 "Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant, And Israel whom I have chosen.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:2 ============ Isa 44:2 Thus says the Lord who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you, 'Do not fear, O Jacob My servant; And you Jeshurun whom I have chosen.(nas) Isa 44:2 οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας σε καὶ ὁ πλάσας σε ἐκ κοιλίας ἔτι βοηθηθήσῃ μὴ φοβοῦ παῖς μου Ιακωβ καὶ ὁ ἠγαπημένος Ισραηλ ὃν ἐξελεξάμην (lxx) Isa 44:2 Hæc dicit Dominus faciens et formans te, ab utero auxiliator tuus: Noli timere, serve meus Jacob, et rectissime, quem elegi.(vulgate) 2 ׃44 כֹּה־אָמַ֨ר יְהוָ֥ה עֹשֶׂ֛ךָ וְיֹצֶרְךָ֥ מִבֶּ֖טֶן יַעְזְרֶ֑ךָּ אַל־תִּירָא֙ עַבְדִּ֣י יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וִישֻׁר֖וּן בָּחַ֥רְתִּי בֽוֹ׃ Isaiah Isa 44:2 So spricht der HERR, der dich gemacht und bereitet hat und der dir beisteht von Mutterleibe an: Fürchte dich nicht, mein Knecht Jakob, und du, Jesurun, den ich erwählt habe!(dhs) Isa 44:2 Thus says the Lord who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you: 'Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:3 ============ Isa 44:3 'For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring And My blessing on your descendants;(nas) Isa 44:3 ὅτι ἐγὼ δώσω ὕδωρ ἐν δίψει τοῖς πορευομένοις ἐν ἀνύδρῳ ἐπιθήσω τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐπὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὰς εὐλογίας μου ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα σου (lxx) Isa 44:3 Effundam enim aquas super sitientem, et fluenta super aridam; effundam spiritum meum super semen tuum, et benedictionem meam super stirpem tuam:(vulgate) 3 ׃44 כִּ֤י אֶצָּק־מַ֙יִם֙ עַל־צָמֵ֔א וְנֹזְלִ֖ים עַל־יַבָּשָׁ֑ה אֶצֹּ֤ק רוּחִי֙ עַל־זַרְעֶ֔ךָ וּבִרְכָתִ֖י עַל־צֶאֱצָאֶֽיךָ׃ Isaiah Isa 44:3 Denn ich will Wasser gießen auf das Durstige und Ströme auf das Dürre: ich will meinen Geist auf deinen Samen gießen und meinen Segen auf deine Nachkommen,(dhs) Isa 44:3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:4 ============ Isa 44:4 And they will spring up among the grass Like poplars by streams of water.'(nas) Isa 44:4 καὶ ἀνατελοῦσιν ὡσεὶ χόρτος ἀνὰ μέσον ὕδατος καὶ ὡς ἰτέα ἐπὶ παραρρέον ὕδωρ (lxx) Isa 44:4 et germinabunt inter herbas, quasi salices juxta præterfluentes aquas.(vulgate) 4 ׃44 וְצָמְח֖וּ בְּבֵ֣ין חָצִ֑יר כַּעֲרָבִ֖ים עַל־יִבְלֵי־מָֽיִם׃ Isaiah Isa 44:4 daß sie wachsen sollen wie Gras, wie Weiden an den Wasserbächen.(dhs) Isa 44:4 They will spring up among the grass Like willows by the watercourses.'(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:5 ============ Isa 44:5 "This one will say, 'I am the Lord's'; And that one will call on the name of Jacob; And another will write on his hand, 'Belonging to the Lord, 'And will name Israel's name with honor.(nas) Isa 44:5 οὗτος ἐρεῖ τοῦ θεοῦ εἰμι καὶ οὗτος βοήσεται ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Ιακωβ καὶ ἕτερος ἐπιγράψει τοῦ θεοῦ εἰμι ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Ισραηλ (lxx) Isa 44:5 Iste dicet: Domini ego sum; et ille vocabit in nomine Jacob; et hic scribet manu sua: Domino, et in nomine Israël assimilabitur.]~(vulgate) 5 ׃44 זֶ֤ה יֹאמַר֙ לַֽיהוָ֣ה אָ֔נִי וְזֶ֖ה יִקְרָ֣א בְשֵֽׁם־יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְזֶ֗ה יִכְתֹּ֤ב יָדוֹ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה וּבְשֵׁ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יְכַנֶּֽה׃ פ Isaiah Isa 44:5 Dieser wird sagen: Ich bin des HERRN! und jener wird genannt werden mit dem Namen Jakob; und dieser wird sich mit seiner Hand dem HERRN zuschreiben und wird mit dem Namen Israel genannt werden.(dhs) Isa 44:5 One will say, 'I am the Lord's'; Another will call himself by the name of Jacob; Another will write with his hand, 'The Lord's,' And name himself by the name of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:6 ============ Isa 44:6 "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.(nas) Isa 44:6 οὕτως λέγει ὁ θεὸς ὁ βασιλεὺς τοῦ Ισραηλ ὁ ῥυσάμενος αὐτὸν θεὸς σαβαωθ ἐγὼ πρῶτος καὶ ἐγὼ μετὰ ταῦτα πλὴν ἐμοῦ οὐκ ἔστιν θεός (lxx) Isa 44:6 [Hæc dicit Dominus, rex Israël, et redemptor ejus, Dominus exercituum: Ego primus, et ego novissimus, et absque me non est deus.(vulgate) 6 ׃44 כֹּֽה־אָמַ֨ר יְהוָ֧ה מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וְגֹאֲל֖וֹ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת אֲנִ֤י רִאשׁוֹן֙ וַאֲנִ֣י אַחֲר֔וֹן וּמִבַּלְעָדַ֖י אֵ֥ין אֱלֹהִֽים׃ Isaiah Isa 44:6 So spricht der HERR, der König Israels, und sein Erlöser, der HERR Zebaoth: Ich bin der Erste, und ich bin der Letzte, und außer mir ist kein Gott.(dhs) Isa 44:6 "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:7 ============ Isa 44:7 'Who is like Me? Let him proclaim and declare it; Yes, let him recount it to Me in order, From the time that I established the ancient nation. And let them declare to them the things that are coming And the events that are going to take place.(nas) Isa 44:7 τίς ὥσπερ ἐγώ στήτω καλεσάτω καὶ ἑτοιμασάτω μοι ἀφ᾽ οὗ ἐποίησα ἄνθρωπον εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ τὰ ἐπερχόμενα πρὸ τοῦ ἐλθεῖν ἀναγγειλάτωσαν ὑμῖν (lxx) Isa 44:7 Quis similis mei? vocet, et annuntiet: et ordinem exponat mihi, ex quo constitui populum antiquum; ventura et quæ futura sunt annuntient eis.(vulgate) 7 ׃44 וּמִֽי־כָמ֣וֹנִי יִקְרָ֗א וְיַגִּידֶ֤הָ וְיַעְרְכֶ֙הָ֙ לִ֔י מִשּׂוּמִ֖י עַם־עוֹלָ֑ם וְאֹתִיּ֛וֹת וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּבֹ֖אנָה יַגִּ֥ידוּ לָֽמוֹ׃ Isaiah Isa 44:7 Und wer ist mir gleich, der da rufe und verkündige und mir's zurichte, der ich von der Welt her die Völker setze? Lasset sie ihnen das Künftige und was kommen soll, verkündigen.(dhs) Isa 44:7 And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, Since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, Let them show these to them.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:8 ============ Isa 44:8 'Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.'"(nas) Isa 44:8 μὴ παρακαλύπτεσθε οὐκ ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς ἠνωτίσασθε καὶ ἀπήγγειλα ὑμῖν μάρτυρες ὑμεῖς ἐστε εἰ ἔστιν θεὸς πλὴν ἐμοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν τότε (lxx) Isa 44:8 Nolite timere, neque conturbemini: ex tunc audire te feci, et annuntiavi; vos estis testes mei. Numquid est Deus absque me, et formator quem ego non noverim?(vulgate) 8 ׃44 אַֽל־תִּפְחֲדוּ֙ וְאַל־תִּרְה֔וּ הֲלֹ֥א מֵאָ֛ז הִשְׁמַעְתִּ֥יךָ וְהִגַּ֖דְתִּי וְאַתֶּ֣ם עֵדָ֑י הֲיֵ֤שׁ אֱל֙וֹהַּ֙ מִבַּלְעָדַ֔י וְאֵ֥ין צ֖וּר בַּל־יָדָֽעְתִּי׃ Isaiah Isa 44:8 Fürchtet euch nicht und erschrecket nicht. Habe ich's nicht vorlängst dich hören lassen und verkündigt? denn ihr seid meine Zeugen. Ist auch ein Gott außer mir? Es ist kein Hort, ich weiß ja keinen.(dhs) Isa 44:8 Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.' "(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:9 ============ Isa 44:9 Those who fashion a graven image are all of them futile, and their precious things are of no profit; even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they will be put to shame.(nas) Isa 44:9 οἱ πλάσσοντες καὶ γλύφοντες πάντες μάταιοι οἱ ποιοῦντες τὰ καταθύμια αὐτῶν ἃ οὐκ ὠφελήσει αὐτούς ἀλλὰ αἰσχυνθήσονται (lxx) Isa 44:9 Plastæ idoli omnes nihil sunt, et amantissima eorum non proderunt eis. Ipsi sunt testes eorum, quia non vident, neque intelligunt, ut confundantur.(vulgate) 9 ׃44 יֹֽצְרֵי־פֶ֤סֶל כֻּלָּם֙ תֹּ֔הוּ וַחֲמוּדֵיהֶ֖ם בַּל־יוֹעִ֑ילוּ וְעֵדֵיהֶ֣ם הֵׄ֗מָּׄהׄ[4] בַּל־יִרְא֛וּ וּבַל־יֵדְע֖וּ לְמַ֥עַן יֵבֹֽשׁוּ׃ Isaiah Isa 44:9 Die Götzenmacher sind allzumal eitel, und ihr Köstliches ist nichts nütze. Sie sind ihre Zeugen und sehen nichts; darum müssen sie zu Schanden werden.(dhs) Isa 44:9 Those who make an image, all of them are useless, And their precious things shall not profit; They are their own witnesses; They neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:10 ============ Isa 44:10 Who has fashioned a god or cast an idol to no profit?(nas) Isa 44:10 πάντες οἱ πλάσσοντες θεὸν καὶ γλύφοντες ἀνωφελῆ (lxx) Isa 44:10 Quis formavit deum, et sculptile conflavit ad nihil utile?(vulgate) 10 ׃44 מִֽי־יָצַ֥ר אֵ֖ל וּפֶ֣סֶל נָסָ֑ךְ לְבִלְתִּ֖י הוֹעִֽיל׃ Isaiah Isa 44:10 Wer sind sie, die einen Gott machen und einen Götzen gießen, der nichts nütze ist?(dhs) Isa 44:10 Who would form a god or mold an image That profits him nothing?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:11 ============ Isa 44:11 Behold, all his companions will be put to shame, for the craftsmen themselves are mere men. Let them all assemble themselves, let them stand up, let them tremble, let them together be put to shame.(nas) Isa 44:11 καὶ πάντες ὅθεν ἐγένοντο ἐξηράνθησαν καὶ κωφοὶ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπων συναχθήτωσαν πάντες καὶ στήτωσαν ἅμα ἐντραπήτωσαν καὶ αἰσχυνθήτωσαν ἅμα (lxx) Isa 44:11 Ecce omnes participes ejus confundentur, fabri enim sunt ex hominibus; convenient omnes, stabunt et pavebunt, et confundentur simul.(vulgate) 11 ׃44 הֵ֤ן כָּל־חֲבֵרָיו֙ יֵבֹ֔שׁוּ וְחָרָשִׁ֥ים הֵ֖מָּה מֵֽאָדָ֑ם יִֽתְקַבְּצ֤וּ כֻלָּם֙ יַֽעֲמֹ֔דוּ יִפְחֲד֖וּ יֵבֹ֥שׁוּ יָֽחַד׃ Isaiah Isa 44:11 Siehe, alle ihre Genossen werden zu Schanden; denn es sind Meister aus Menschen. Wenn sie gleich alle zusammentreten, müssen sie dennoch sich fürchten und zu Schanden werden.(dhs) Isa 44:11 Surely all his companions would be ashamed; And the workmen, they are mere men. Let them all be gathered together, Let them stand up; Yet they shall fear, They shall be ashamed together.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:12 ============ Isa 44:12 The man shapes iron into a cutting tool and does his work over the coals, fashioning it with hammers and working it with his strong arm. He also gets hungry and his strength fails; he drinks no water and becomes weary.(nas) Isa 44:12 ὅτι ὤξυνεν τέκτων σίδηρον σκεπάρνῳ εἰργάσατο αὐτὸ καὶ ἐν τερέτρῳ ἔτρησεν αὐτό εἰργάσατο αὐτὸ ἐν τῷ βραχίονι τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ καὶ πεινάσει καὶ ἀσθενήσει καὶ οὐ μὴ πίῃ ὕδωρ ἐκλεξάμενος (lxx) Isa 44:12 Faber ferrarius lima operatus est, in prunis et in malleis formavit illud, et operatus est in brachio fortitudinis suæ; esuriet et deficiet, non bibet aquam et lassescet.(vulgate) 12 ׃44 חָרַ֤שׁ בַּרְזֶל֙ מַֽעֲצָ֔ד וּפָעַל֙ בַּפֶּחָ֔ם וּבַמַּקָּב֖וֹת יִצְּרֵ֑הוּ וַיִּפְעָלֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּזְר֣וֹעַ כֹּח֔וֹ גַּם־רָעֵב֙ וְאֵ֣ין כֹּ֔חַ לֹא־שָׁ֥תָה מַ֖יִם וַיִּיעָֽף׃ Isaiah Isa 44:12 Es schmiedet einer das Eisen in der Zange, arbeitet in der Glut und bereitet's mit Hämmern und arbeitet daran mit ganzer Kraft seines Arms, leidet auch Hunger, bis er nimmer kann, trinkt auch nicht Wasser, bis er matt wird.(dhs) Isa 44:12 The blacksmith with the tongs works one in the coals, Fashions it with hammers, And works it with the strength of his arms. Even so, he is hungry, and his strength fails; He drinks no water and is faint.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:13 ============ Isa 44:13 Another shapes wood, he extends a measuring line; he outlines it with red chalk. He works it with planes and outlines it with a compass, and makes it like the form of a man, like the beauty of man, so that it may sit in a house.(nas) Isa 44:13 τέκτων ξύλον ἔστησεν αὐτὸ ἐν μέτρῳ καὶ ἐν κόλλῃ ἐρρύθμισεν αὐτό ἐποίησεν αὐτὸ ὡς μορφὴν ἀνδρὸς καὶ ὡς ὡραιότητα ἀνθρώπου στῆσαι αὐτὸ ἐν οἴκῳ (lxx) Isa 44:13 Artifex lignarius extendit normam, formavit illud in runcina, fecit illud in angularibus, et in circino tornavit illud, et fecit imaginem viri quasi speciosum hominem habitantem in domo;(vulgate) 13 ׃44 חָרַ֣שׁ עֵצִים֮ נָ֣טָה קָו֒ יְתָאֲרֵ֣הוּ בַשֶּׂ֔רֶד יַעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ בַּמַּקְצֻע֔וֹת וּבַמְּחוּגָ֖ה יְתָאֳרֵ֑הוּ וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ כְּתַבְנִ֣ית אִ֔ישׁ כְּתִפְאֶ֥רֶת אָדָ֖ם לָשֶׁ֥בֶת בָּֽיִת׃ Isaiah Isa 44:13 Der andere zimmert Holz, und mißt es mit der Schnur und zeichnet's mit Rötelstein und behaut es und zirkelt's ab und macht's ein Mannsbild, wie einen schönen Menschen, der im Hause wohne.(dhs) Isa 44:13 The craftsman stretches out his rule, He marks one out with chalk; He fashions it with a plane, He marks it out with the compass, And makes it like the figure of a man, According to the beauty of a man, that it may remain in the house.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:14 ============ Isa 44:14 Surely he cuts cedars for himself, and takes a cypress or an oak and raises it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir, and the rain makes it grow.(nas) Isa 44:14 ὃ ἔκοψεν ξύλον ἐκ τοῦ δρυμοῦ ὃ ἐφύτευσεν κύριος καὶ ὑετὸς ἐμήκυνεν (lxx) Isa 44:14 succidit cedros, tulit ilicem, et quercum, quæ steterat inter ligna saltus; plantavit pinum, quam pluvia nutrivit:(vulgate) 14 ׃44 לִכְרָת־ל֣וֹ אֲרָזִ֔ים וַיִּקַּ֤ח תִּרְזָה֙ וְאַלּ֔וֹן וַיְאַמֶּץ־ל֖וֹ בַּעֲצֵי־יָ֑עַר נָטַ֥ע אֹ֖רֶן[6] וְגֶ֥שֶׁם יְגַדֵּֽל׃ Isaiah Isa 44:14 Er geht frisch daran unter den Bäumen im Walde, daß er Zedern abhaue und nehme Buchen und Eichen; ja, eine Zeder, die gepflanzt und die vom Regen erwachsen ist(dhs) Isa 44:14 He cuts down cedars for himself, And takes the cypress and the oak; He secures it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a pine, and the rain nourishes it.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:15 ============ Isa 44:15 Then it becomes something for a man to burn, so he takes one of them and warms himself; he also makes a fire to bake bread. He also makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image and falls down before it.(nas) Isa 44:15 ἵνα ᾖ ἀνθρώποις εἰς καῦσιν καὶ λαβὼν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐθερμάνθη καὶ καύσαντες ἔπεψαν ἄρτους ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν τὸ δὲ λοιπὸν εἰργάσαντο εἰς θεούς καὶ προσκυνοῦσιν αὐτούς (lxx) Isa 44:15 et facta est hominibus in focum; sumpsit ex eis, et calefactus est; et succendit et coxit panes; de reliquo autem operatus est deum et adoravit; fecit sculptile, et curvatus est ante illud.(vulgate) 15 ׃44 וְהָיָ֤ה לְאָדָם֙ לְבָעֵ֔ר וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֵהֶם֙ וַיָּ֔חָם אַף־יַשִּׂ֖יק וְאָ֣פָה לָ֑חֶם אַף־יִפְעַל־אֵל֙ וַיִּשְׁתָּ֔חוּ עָשָׂ֥הוּ פֶ֖סֶל וַיִּסְגָּד־לָֽמוֹ׃ Isaiah Isa 44:15 und die den Leuten Brennholz gibt, davon man nimmt, daß man sich dabei wärme, und die man anzündet und Brot dabei bäckt. Davon macht er einen Gott und betet's an; er macht einen Götzen daraus und kniet davor nieder.(dhs) Isa 44:15 Then it shall be for a man to burn, For he will take some of it and warm himself; Yes, he kindles it and bakes bread; Indeed he makes a god and worships it; He makes it a carved image, and falls down to it.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:16 ============ Isa 44:16 Half of it he burns in the fire; over this half he eats meat as he roasts a roast and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, "Aha! I am warm, I have seen the fire."(nas) Isa 44:16 οὗ τὸ ἥμισυ αὐτοῦ κατέκαυσαν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ καύσαντες ἔπεψαν ἄρτους ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ κρέας ὀπτήσας ἔφαγεν καὶ ἐνεπλήσθη καὶ θερμανθεὶς εἶπεν ἡδύ μοι ὅτι ἐθερμάνθην καὶ εἶδον πῦρ (lxx) Isa 44:16 Medium ejus combussit igni, et de medio ejus carnes comedit; coxit pulmentum, et saturatus est, et calefactus est, et dixit: Vah! calefactus sum, vidi focum;(vulgate) 16 ׃44 חֶצְיוֹ֙ שָׂרַ֣ף בְּמוֹ־אֵ֔שׁ עַל־חֶצְיוֹ֙ בָּשָׂ֣ר יֹאכֵ֔ל יִצְלֶ֥ה צָלִ֖י וְיִשְׂבָּ֑ע אַף־יָחֹם֙ וְיֹאמַ֣ר הֶאָ֔ח חַמּוֹתִ֖י רָאִ֥יתִי אֽוּר׃ Isaiah Isa 44:16 Die Hälfte verbrennt er im Feuer, über der Hälfte ißt er Fleisch; er brät einen Braten und sättigt sich, wärmt sich auch und spricht: Hoja! ich bin warm geworden, ich sehe meine Lust am Feuer.(dhs) Isa 44:16 He burns half of it in the fire; With this half he eats meat; He roasts a roast, and is satisfied. He even warms himself and says, "Ah! I am warm, I have seen the fire."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 44:17 ============ Isa 44:17 But the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image.
