Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 50:1 ============ Jer 50:1 The word which the Lord spoke concerning Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, through Jeremiah the prophet:(nas) Jer 50:1 καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς ἐπαύσατο Ιερεμιας λέγων πρὸς τὸν λαὸν πάντας τοὺς λόγους κυρίου οὓς ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὸν κύριος πρὸς αὐτούς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους (lxx) Jer 50:1 Verbum quod locutus est Dominus de Babylone et de terra Chaldæorum, in manu Jeremiæ prophetæ.(vulgate) 1 ׃50 הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־בָּבֶ֖ל אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים בְּיַ֖ד יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִֽיא׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:1 Dies ist das Wort, welches der HERR durch den Propheten Jeremia geredet hat wider Babel und das Land der Chaldäer:(dhs) Jer 50:1 The word that the Lord spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:2 ============ Jer 50:2 "Declare and proclaim among the nations. Proclaim it and lift up a standard. Do not conceal it but say, 'Babylon has been captured, Bel has been put to shame, Marduk has been shattered; Her images have been put to shame, her idols have been shattered.'(nas) Jer 50:2 καὶ εἶπεν Αζαριας υἱὸς Μαασαιου καὶ Ιωαναν υἱὸς Καρηε καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ εἴπαντες τῷ Ιερεμια λέγοντες ψεύδη οὐκ ἀπέστειλέν σε κύριος πρὸς ἡμᾶς λέγων μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς Αἴγυπτον οἰκεῖν ἐκεῖ (lxx) Jer 50:2 [Annuntiate in gentibus, et auditum facite: levate signum, prædicate, et nolite celare: dicite: Capta est Babylon, confusus est Bel, victus est Merodach, confusa sunt sculptilia ejus, superata sunt idola eorum.(vulgate) 2 ׃50 הַגִּ֨ידוּ בַגּוֹיִ֤ם וְהַשְׁמִ֙יעוּ֙ וּֽשְׂאוּ־נֵ֔ס הַשְׁמִ֖יעוּ אַל־תְּכַחֵ֑דוּ אִמְרוּ֩ נִלְכְּדָ֨ה בָבֶ֜ל הֹבִ֥ישׁ בֵּל֙ חַ֣ת מְרֹדָ֔ךְ הֹבִ֣ישׁוּ עֲצַבֶּ֔יהָ חַ֖תּוּ גִּלּוּלֶֽיהָ׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:2 Verkündiget unter den Heiden und laßt erschallen, werfet ein Panier auf; laßt erschallen, und verberget's nicht und sprecht: Babel ist gewonnen, Bel steht mit Schanden, Merodach ist zerschmettert; ihre Götzen stehen mit Schanden, und ihre Götter sind zerschmettert!(dhs) Jer 50:2 "Declare among the nations, Proclaim, and set up a standard; Proclaim--do not conceal it-- Say, 'Babylon is taken, Bel is shamed. Merodach is broken in pieces; Her idols are humiliated, Her images are broken in pieces.'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:3 ============ Jer 50:3 For a nation has come up against her out of the north; it will make her land an object of horror, and there will be no inhabitant in it. Both man and beast have wandered off, they have gone away!(nas) Jer 50:3 ἀλλ᾽ ἢ Βαρουχ υἱὸς Νηριου συμβάλλει σε πρὸς ἡμᾶς ἵνα δῷς ἡμᾶς εἰς χεῖρας τῶν Χαλδαίων τοῦ θανατῶσαι ἡμᾶς καὶ ἀποικισθῆναι ἡμᾶς εἰς Βαβυλῶνα (lxx) Jer 50:3 Quoniam ascendit contra eam gens ab aquilone, quæ ponet terram ejus in solitudinem, et non erit qui habitet in ea ab homine usque ad pecus: et moti sunt, et abierunt.(vulgate) 3 ׃50 כִּ֣י עָלָה֩ עָלֶ֨יהָ גּ֜וֹי מִצָּפ֗וֹן הֽוּא־יָשִׁ֤ית אֶת־אַרְצָהּ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה וְלֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֥ה יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בָּ֑הּ מֵאָדָ֥ם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֖ה נָ֥דוּ הָלָֽכוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:3 Denn es zieht von Mitternacht ein Volk herauf wider sie, welches wird ihr Land zur Wüste machen, daß niemand darin wohnen wird, sondern beide, Leute und Vieh, davonfliehen werden.(dhs) Jer 50:3 For out of the north a nation comes up against her, Which shall make her land desolate, And no one shall dwell therein. They shall move, they shall depart, Both man and beast.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:4 ============ Jer 50:4 "In those days and at that time," declares the Lord, "the sons of Israel will come, both they and the sons of Judah as well; they will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the Lord their God they will seek.(nas) Jer 50:4 καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν Ιωαναν καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου κατοικῆσαι ἐν γῇ Ιουδα (lxx) Jer 50:4 In diebus illis, et in tempore illo, ait Dominus, venient filii Israël ipsi et filii Juda simul: ambulantes et flentes properabunt, et Dominum Deum suum quærent:(vulgate) 4 ׃50 בַּיָּמִ֨ים הָהֵ֜מָּה וּבָעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה יָבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הֵ֥מָּה וּבְנֵֽי־יְהוּדָ֖ה יַחְדָּ֑ו הָל֤וֹךְ וּבָכוֹ֙ יֵלֵ֔כוּ וְאֶת־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם יְבַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:4 In denselben Tagen und zur selben Zeit, spricht der HERR, werden kommen die Kinder Israel samt den Kindern Juda und weinend daherziehen und den HERRN, ihren Gott, suchen.(dhs) Jer 50:4 "In those days and in that time," says the Lord, "The children of Israel shall come, They and the children of Judah together; With continual weeping they shall come, And seek the Lord their God.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:5 ============ Jer 50:5 They will ask for the way to Zion, turning their faces in its direction; they will come that they may join themselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.(nas) Jer 50:5 καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωαναν καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως πάντας τοὺς καταλοίπους Ιουδα τοὺς ἀποστρέψαντας κατοικεῖν ἐν τῇ γῇ (lxx) Jer 50:5 in Sion interrogabunt viam, huc facies eorum: venient, et apponentur ad Dominum fœdere sempiterno, quod nulla oblivione delebitur.(vulgate) 5 ׃50 צִיּ֣וֹן יִשְׁאָ֔לוּ דֶּ֖רֶךְ הֵ֣נָּה פְנֵיהֶ֑ם בֹּ֚אוּ וְנִלְו֣וּ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה בְּרִ֥ית עוֹלָ֖ם לֹ֥א תִשָּׁכֵֽחַ׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 50:5 Sie werden forschen nach dem Wege gen Zion, dahin sich kehren: Kommt, wir wollen uns zum HERRN fügen mit einem ewigen Bunde, des nimmermehr vergessen werden soll!(dhs) Jer 50:5 They shall ask the way to Zion, With their faces toward it, saying, 'Come and let us join ourselves to the Lord In a perpetual covenant That will not be forgotten.'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:6 ============ Jer 50:6 "My people have become lost sheep; Their shepherds have led them astray. They have made them turn aside on the mountains; They have gone along from mountain to hill And have forgotten their resting place.(nas) Jer 50:6 τοὺς δυνατοὺς ἄνδρας καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὰ νήπια καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τὰς ψυχάς ἃς κατέλιπεν Ναβουζαρδαν μετὰ Γοδολιου υἱοῦ Αχικαμ καὶ Ιερεμιαν τὸν προφήτην καὶ Βαρουχ υἱὸν Νηριου (lxx) Jer 50:6 Grex perditus factus est populus meus: pastores eorum seduxerunt eos, feceruntque vagari in montibus: de monte in collem transierunt; obliti sunt cubilis sui.(vulgate) 6 ׃50 צֹ֤אן אֹֽבְדוֹת֙ *היה **הָי֣וּ עַמִּ֔י רֹעֵיהֶ֣ם הִתְע֔וּם הָרִ֖ים *שובבים **שֽׁוֹבְב֑וּם מֵהַ֤ר אֶל־גִּבְעָה֙ הָלָ֔כוּ שָׁכְח֖וּ רִבְצָֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:6 Denn mein Volk ist wie eine verlorene Herde; ihre Hirten haben sie verführt und auf den Bergen in der Irre gehen lassen, daß sie von den Bergen auf die Hügel gegangen sind und ihre Hürden vergessen haben.(dhs) Jer 50:6 "My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray; They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill; They have forgotten their resting place.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:7 ============ Jer 50:7 "All who came upon them have devoured them; And their adversaries have said, 'We are not guilty, Inasmuch as they have sinned against the Lord who is the habitation of righteousness, Even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.'(nas) Jer 50:7 καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον ὅτι οὐκ ἤκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Ταφνας (lxx) Jer 50:7 Omnes qui invenerunt comederunt eos, et hostes eorum dixerunt: Non peccavimus: pro eo quod peccaverunt Domino decori justitiæ, et exspectationi patrum eorum Domino.(vulgate) 7 ׃50 כָּל־מוֹצְאֵיהֶ֣ם אֲכָל֔וּם וְצָרֵיהֶ֥ם אָמְר֖וּ לֹ֣א נֶאְשָׁ֑ם תַּ֗חַת אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָטְא֤וּ לַֽיהוָה֙ נְוֵה־צֶ֔דֶק וּמִקְוֵ֥ה אֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃ ס Jeremiah Jer 50:7 Es fraßen sie alle, die sie antrafen; und ihre Feinde sprachen: Wir tun nicht unrecht! darum daß sie sich haben versündigt an dem HERRN in der Wohnung der Gerechtigkeit und an dem HERRN, der ihrer Väter Hoffnung ist.(dhs) Jer 50:7 All who found them have devoured them; And their adversaries said, 'We have not offended, Because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, The Lord, the hope of their fathers.'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:8 ============ Jer 50:8 "Wander away from the midst of Babylon And go forth from the land of the Chaldeans; Be also like male goats at the head of the flock.(nas) Jer 50:8 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ἐν Ταφνας λέγων (lxx) Jer 50:8 Recedite de medio Babylonis, et de terra Chaldæorum egredimini, et estote quasi hædi ante gregem.(vulgate) 8 ׃50 נֻ֚דוּ מִתּ֣וֹךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וּמֵאֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים *יצאו **צֵ֑אוּ וִהְי֕וּ כְּעַתּוּדִ֖ים לִפְנֵי־צֹֽאן׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:8 Fliehet aus Babel und ziehet aus der Chaldäer Lande und stellt euch als Böcke vor der Herde her.(dhs) Jer 50:8 "Move from the midst of Babylon, Go out of the land of the Chaldeans; And be like the rams before the flocks.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:9 ============ Jer 50:9 "For behold, I am going to arouse and bring up against Babylon A horde of great nations from the land of the north, And they will draw up their battle lines against her; From there she will be taken captive. Their arrows will be like an expert warrior Who does not return empty-handed.(nas) Jer 50:9 λαβὲ σεαυτῷ λίθους μεγάλους καὶ κατάκρυψον αὐτοὺς ἐν προθύροις ἐν πύλῃ τῆς οἰκίας Φαραω ἐν Ταφνας κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς ἀνδρῶν Ιουδα (lxx) Jer 50:9 Quoniam ecce ego suscito, et adducam in Babylonem congregationem gentium magnarum de terra aquilonis, et præparabuntur adversus eam, et inde capietur: sagitta ejus quasi viri fortis interfectoris: non revertetur vacua.(vulgate) 9 ׃50 כִּ֣י הִנֵּ֣ה אָנֹכִ֡י מֵעִיר֩ וּמַעֲלֶ֨ה עַל־בָּבֶ֜ל קְהַל־גּוֹיִ֤ם גְּדֹלִים֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֔וֹן וְעָ֣רְכוּ לָ֔הּ מִשָּׁ֖ם תִּלָּכֵ֑ד חִצָּיו֙ כְּגִבּ֣וֹר מַשְׁכִּ֔יל לֹ֥א יָשׁ֖וּב רֵיקָֽם׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:9 Denn siehe, ich will große Völker in Haufen aus dem Lande gegen Mitternacht erwecken und wider Babel heraufbringen, die sich wider sie sollen rüsten, welche sie sollen auch gewinnen; ihre Pfeile sind wie die eines guten Kriegers, der nicht fehlt.(dhs) Jer 50:9 For behold, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon An assembly of great nations from the north country, And they shall array themselves against her; From there she shall be captured. Their arrows shall be like those of an expert warrior; None shall return in vain.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:10 ============ Jer 50:10 "Chaldea will become plunder; All who plunder her will have enough," declares the Lord.(nas) Jer 50:10 καὶ ἐρεῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω καὶ ἄξω Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος καὶ θήσει αὐτοῦ τὸν θρόνον ἐπάνω τῶν λίθων τούτων ὧν κατέκρυψας καὶ ἀρεῖ τὰ ὅπλα αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς (lxx) Jer 50:10 Et erit Chaldæa in prædam: omnes vastantes eam replebuntur, ait Dominus.(vulgate) 10 ׃50 וְהָיְתָ֥ה כַשְׂדִּ֖ים לְשָׁלָ֑ל כָּל־שֹׁלְלֶ֥יהָ יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:10 Und das Chaldäerland soll ein Raub werden, daß alle, die sie berauben, sollen genug davon haben, spricht der HERR;(dhs) Jer 50:10 And Chaldea shall become plunder; All who plunder her shall be satisfied," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:11 ============ Jer 50:11 "Because you are glad, because you are jubilant, O you who pillage My heritage, Because you skip about like a threshing heifer And neigh like stallions,(nas) Jer 50:11 καὶ εἰσελεύσεται καὶ πατάξει γῆν Αἰγύπτου οὓς εἰς θάνατον εἰς θάνατον καὶ οὓς εἰς ἀποικισμόν εἰς ἀποικισμόν καὶ οὕς εἰς ῥομφαίαν εἰς ῥομφαίαν (lxx) Jer 50:11 Quoniam exsultatis, et magna loquimini, diripientes hæreditatem meam: quoniam effusi estis sicut vituli super herbam, et mugistis sicut tauri:(vulgate) 11 ׃50 כִּ֤י *תשמחי **תִשְׂמְחוּ֙ כִּ֣י *תעלזי **תַֽעֲלְז֔וּ שֹׁסֵ֖י נַחֲלָתִ֑י כִּ֤י *תפושי **תָפ֙וּשׁוּ֙ כְּעֶגְלָ֣ה דָשָׁ֔ה *ותצהלי **וְתִצְהֲל֖וּ כָּאֲבִּרִֽים׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:11 darum daß ihr euch des freut und rühmt, daß ihr mein Erbteil geplündert habt, und hüpft wie die jungen Kälber und wiehert wie die starken Gäule.(dhs) Jer 50:11 "Because you were glad, because you rejoiced, You destroyers of My heritage, Because you have grown fat like a heifer threshing grain, And you bellow like bulls,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:12 ============ Jer 50:12 Your mother will be greatly ashamed, She who gave you birth will be humiliated. Behold, she will be the least of the nations, A wilderness, a parched land and a desert.(nas) Jer 50:12 καὶ καύσει πῦρ ἐν οἰκίαις θεῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐμπυριεῖ αὐτὰς καὶ ἀποικιεῖ αὐτοὺς καὶ φθειριεῖ γῆν Αἰγύπτου ὥσπερ φθειρίζει ποιμὴν τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξελεύσεται ἐν εἰρήνῃ (lxx) Jer 50:12 confusa est mater vestra nimis, et adæquata pulveri, quæ genuit vos: ecce novissima erit in gentibus, deserta, invia, et arens.(vulgate) 12 ׃50 בּ֤וֹשָׁה אִמְּכֶם֙ מְאֹ֔ד חָפְרָ֖ה יֽוֹלַדְתְּכֶ֑ם הִנֵּה֙ אַחֲרִ֣ית גּוֹיִ֔ם מִדְבָּ֖ר צִיָּ֥ה וַעֲרָבָֽה׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:12 Eure Mutter besteht mit großer Schande, und die euch geboren hat, ist zum Spott geworden; siehe, unter den Heiden ist sie die geringste, wüst, dürr und öde.(dhs) Jer 50:12 Your mother shall be deeply ashamed; She who bore you shall be ashamed. Behold, the least of the nations shall be a wilderness, A dry land and a desert.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:13 ============ Jer 50:13 "Because of the indignation of the Lord she will not be inhabited, But she will be completely desolate; Everyone who passes by Babylon will be horrified And will hiss because of all her wounds.(nas) Jer 50:13 καὶ συντρίψει τοὺς στύλους ἡλίου πόλεως τοὺς ἐν Ων καὶ τὰς οἰκίας αὐτῶν κατακαύσει ἐν πυρί (lxx) Jer 50:13 Ab ira Domini non habitabitur, sed redigetur tota in solitudinem: omnis qui transibit per Babylonem stupebit, et sibilabit super universis plagis ejus.(vulgate) 13 ׃50 מִקֶּ֤צֶף יְהוָה֙ לֹ֣א תֵשֵׁ֔ב וְהָיְתָ֥ה שְׁמָמָ֖ה כֻּלָּ֑הּ כֹּ֚ל עֹבֵ֣ר עַל־בָּבֶ֔ל יִשֹּׁ֥ם וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק עַל־כָּל־מַכּוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:13 Denn vor dem Zorn des HERRN muß sie unbewohnt und ganz wüst bleiben, daß alle, so bei Babel vorübergehen, werden sich verwundern und pfeifen über all ihr Plage.(dhs) Jer 50:13 Because of the wrath of the Lord She shall not be inhabited, But she shall be wholly desolate. Everyone who goes by Babylon shall be horrified And hiss at all her plagues.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:14 ============ Jer 50:14 "Draw up your battle lines against Babylon on every side, All you who bend the bow; Shoot at her, do not be sparing with your arrows, For she has sinned against the Lord.(nas) Jer 50:14 -- (lxx) Jer 50:14 Præparamini contra Babylonem per circuitum, omnes qui tenditis arcum: debellate eam, non parcatis jaculis, quia Domino peccavit.(vulgate) 14 ׃50 עִרְכ֨וּ עַל־בָּבֶ֤ל ׀ סָבִיב֙ כָּל־דֹּ֣רְכֵי קֶ֔שֶׁת יְד֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יהָ אַֽל־תַּחְמְל֖וּ אֶל־חֵ֑ץ כִּ֥י לַֽיהוָ֖ה חָטָֽאָה׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:14 Rüstet euch wider Babel umher, alle Schützen, schießt in sie, spart die Pfeile nicht; denn sie hat wider den HERRN gesündigt.(dhs) Jer 50:14 "Put yourselves in array against Babylon all around, All you who bend the bow; Shoot at her, spare no arrows, For she has sinned against the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 50:15 ============ Jer 50:15 "Raise your battle cry against her on every side! She has given herself up, her pillars have fallen, Her walls have been torn down. For this is the vengeance of the Lord: Take vengeance on her; As she has done to others, so do to her.(nas) Jer 50:15 -- (lxx) Jer 50:15 Clamate adversus eam, ubique dedit manum: ceciderunt fundamenta ejus, destructi sunt muri ejus, quoniam ultio Domini est: ultionem accipite de ea: sicut fecit, facite ei.(vulgate) 15 ׃50 הָרִ֨יעוּ עָלֶ֤יהָ סָבִיב֙ נָתְנָ֣ה יָדָ֔הּ נָֽפְלוּ֙ *אשויתיה **אָשְׁיוֹתֶ֔יהָ נֶהֶרְס֖וּ חֽוֹמוֹתֶ֑יהָ כִּי֩ נִקְמַ֨ת יְהוָ֥ה הִיא֙ הִנָּ֣קְמוּ בָ֔הּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשְׂתָ֖ה עֲשׂוּ־לָֽהּ׃ Jeremiah Jer 50:15 Jauchzt über sie um und um! Sie muß sich ergeben, ihr Grundfesten sind zerfallen, ihre Mauern sind abgebrochen; denn das ist des HERRN Rache. Rächt euch an ihr, tut ihr, wie sie getan hat.(dhs) Jer 50:15 Shout against her all around; She has given her hand, Her foundations have fallen, Her walls are thrown down; For it is the vengeance of the Lord. Take vengeance on her.
