Today's Date: ======= Matthew 21:1 ============ Mat 21:1 When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,(nas) Mat 21:1 καὶ ὅτε ἤγγισαν εἰς ἱεροσόλυμα καὶ ἦλθον εἰς βηθφαγὴ εἰς τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἐλαιῶν, τότε ἰησοῦς ἀπέστειλεν δύο μαθητὰς (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:1 Et cum appropinquassent Jerosolymis, et venissent Bethphage ad montem Oliveti: tunc Jesus misit duos discipulos,(vulgate) וַיְהִי כַּאֲשֶׁר בָּאוּ מִקָּרוֹב לִירוּשָׁלַיִם אֶל־בֵּית־פַּגַּי אֶל־הַר הַזֵּיתִים וַיִּשְׁלַח יֵשׁוּעַ שְׁנַיִם מִתַּלְמִידָיו׃ א Matthew Mat 21:1 Da sie nun nahe an Jerusalem kamen, gen Bethphage an den Ölberg, sandte Jesus seiner Jünger zwei(dhs) Mat 21:1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:2 ============ Mat 21:2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me.(nas) Mat 21:2 λέγων αὐτοῖς, πορεύεσθε εἰς τὴν κώμην τὴν κατέναντι ὑμῶν, καὶ εὐθέως εὑρήσετε ὄνον δεδεμένην καὶ πῶλον μετ᾽ αὐτῆς· λύσαντες ἀγάγετέ μοι. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:2 dicens eis: Ite in castellum, quod contra vos est, et statim invenietis asinam alligatam, et pullum cum ea: solvite, et adducite mihi:(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם לְכוּ אֶל־הַכְּפָר אֲשֶׁר מִנֶּגֶד וּמְצָאתֶם שָׁם אָתוֹן אֲסוּרָה וְעַיִר אֶצְלָהּ הַתִּירוּם וַהֲבִיאוּם אֵלָי׃ ב Matthew Mat 21:2 und sprach zu ihnen: Gehet hin in den Flecken, der vor euch liegt, und alsbald werdet ihr eine Eselin finden angebunden und ihr Füllen bei ihr; löset sie auf und führet sie zu mir!(dhs) Mat 21:2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:3 ============ Mat 21:3 If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will send them."(nas) Mat 21:3 καὶ ἐάν τις ὑμῖν εἴπῃ τι, ἐρεῖτε ὅτι ὁ κύριος αὐτῶν χρείαν ἔχει· εὐθὺς δὲ ἀποστελεῖ αὐτούς. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:3 et si quis vobis aliquid dixerit, dicite quia Dominus his opus habet: et confestim dimittet eos.(vulgate) וְכִי־יֹאמַר אִישׁ אֲלֵיכֶם דָּבָר וַאֲמַרְתֶּם הָאָדוֹן יֶשׁ־לוֹ חֵפֶץ בָּם וְעַד מְהֵרָה יְשַׁלְּחֵם׃ ג Matthew Mat 21:3 Und so euch jemand etwas wird sagen, so sprecht: Der HERR bedarf ihrer; sobald wird er sie euch lassen.(dhs) Mat 21:3 And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will send them."(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:4 ============ Mat 21:4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:(nas) Mat 21:4 τοῦτο δὲ γέγονεν ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος, (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:4 Hoc autem totum factum est, ut adimpleretur quod dictum est per prophetam dicentem:(vulgate) וְכָל־זֹאת הָיָה לְמַלֹּאת אֵת אֲשֶׁר נֶאֱמַר בְּיַד־הַנָּבִיא לֵאמֹר׃ ד Matthew Mat 21:4 Das geschah aber alles, auf daß erfüllt würde, was gesagt ist durch den Propheten, der da spricht:(dhs) Mat 21:4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:5 ============ Mat 21:5 "Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Behold your King is coming to you, Gentle, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.'"(nas) Mat 21:5 εἴπατε τῇ θυγατρὶ σιών, ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεύς σου ἔρχεταί σοι, πραῢς καὶ ἐπιβεβηκὼς ἐπὶ ὄνον, καὶ ἐπὶ πῶλον υἱὸν ὑποζυγίου. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:5 [Dicite filiæ Sion: Ecce rex tuus venit tibi mansuetus, sedens super asinam, et pullum filium subjugalis.](vulgate) אִמְרוּ לְבַת־צִיּוֹן הִנֵּה מַלְכֵּךְ יָבוֹא לָךְ עָנִי וְרֹכֵב עַל־חֲמוֹר וְעַל־עַיִר בֶּן־אֲתֹנוֹת׃ ה Matthew Mat 21:5 "Saget der Tochter Zion: Siehe, dein König kommt zu dir sanftmütig und reitet auf einem Esel und auf einem Füllen der lastbaren Eselin."(dhs) Mat 21:5 "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.' "(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:6 ============ Mat 21:6 The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them,(nas) Mat 21:6 πορευθέντες δὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ καὶ ποιήσαντες καθὼς συνέταξεν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:6 Euntes autem discipuli fecerunt sicut præcepit illis Jesus.(vulgate) וַיֵּלְכוּ הַתַּלְמִידִים וַיַּעֲשׂוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֹתָם יֵשׁוּעַ׃ ו Matthew Mat 21:6 Die Jünger gingen hin und taten, wie ihnen Jesus befohlen hatte,(dhs) Mat 21:6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:7 ============ Mat 21:7 and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on the coats.(nas) Mat 21:7 ἤγαγον τὴν ὄνον καὶ τὸν πῶλον, καὶ ἐπέθηκαν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν τὰ ἱμάτια, καὶ ἐπεκάθισεν ἐπάνω αὐτῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:7 Et adduxerunt asinam, et pullum: et imposuerunt super eos vestimenta sua, et eum desuper sedere fecerunt.(vulgate) וַיָּבִיאוּ אֶת־הָאָתוֹן וְאֶת־הָעַיִר וַיָּשִׂימוּ עַל־גַּבָּם אֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶם וְהוּא יָשַׁב עֲלֵיהֶם׃ ז Matthew Mat 21:7 und brachten die Eselin und das Füllen und legten ihre Kleider darauf und setzten ihn darauf.(dhs) Mat 21:7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:8 ============ Mat 21:8 Most of the crowd spread their coats in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road.(nas) Mat 21:8 ὁ δὲ πλεῖστος ὄχλος ἔστρωσαν ἑαυτῶν τὰ ἱμάτια ἐν τῇ ὁδῶ, ἄλλοι δὲ ἔκοπτον κλάδους ἀπὸ τῶν δένδρων καὶ ἐστρώννυον ἐν τῇ ὁδῶ. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:8 Plurima autem turba straverunt vestimenta sua in via: alii autem cædebant ramos de arboribus, et sternebant in via:(vulgate) וְרַבִּים מִן־הָעָם פָּרְשׂוּ אֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶם עַל־פְּנֵי הַדָּרֶךְ וְיֵשׁ מֵהֶם אֲשֶׁר כָּרְתוּ זְמֹרוֹת מִן־הָעֵצִים וַיִּשְׁטְחוּ אֹתָן שָׁמָּה׃ ח Matthew Mat 21:8 Aber viel Volks breitete die Kleider auf den Weg; die andern hieben Zweige von den Bäumen und streuten sie auf den Weg.(dhs) Mat 21:8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:9 ============ Mat 21:9 The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David; BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Hosanna in the highest!"(nas) Mat 21:9 οἱ δὲ ὄχλοι οἱ προάγοντες αὐτὸν καὶ οἱ ἀκολουθοῦντες ἔκραζον λέγοντες, ὡσαννὰ τῶ υἱῶ δαυίδ· εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου· ὡσαννὰ ἐν τοῖς ὑψίστοις. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:9 turbæ autem, quæ præcedebant, et quæ sequebantur, clamabant, dicentes: Hosanna filio David: benedictus, qui venit in nomine Domini: hosanna in altissimis.(vulgate) וַהֲמוֹן הָעָם הַהֹלֵךְ מִלְּפָנָיו וּמֵאַחֲרָיו עָנוּ לֵאמֹר הוֹשַׁע־נָא לְבֶן־דָּוִד בָּרוּךְ הַבָּא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָֹה הוֹשַׁע־נָא בִּשְׁמֵי מָרוֹם׃ ט Matthew Mat 21:9 Das Volk aber, das vorging und nachfolgte, schrie und sprach: Hosianna dem Sohn Davids! Gelobt sei, der da kommt in dem Namen des HERRN! Hosianna in der Höhe!(dhs) Mat 21:9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!' Hosanna in the highest!"(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:10 ============ Mat 21:10 When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?"(nas) Mat 21:10 καὶ εἰσελθόντος αὐτοῦ εἰς ἱεροσόλυμα ἐσείσθη πᾶσα ἡ πόλις λέγουσα, τίς ἐστιν οὖτος; (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:10 Et cum intrasset Jerosolymam, commota est universa civitas, dicens: Quis est hic?(vulgate) וּבְבֹאוֹ יְרוּשָׁלָיִם וַתֵּהוֹם כָּל־הָעִיר לֵאמֹר מִי הוּא זֶה׃ י Matthew Mat 21:10 Und als er zu Jerusalem einzog, erregte sich die ganze Stadt und sprach: Wer ist der?(dhs) Mat 21:10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:11 ============ Mat 21:11 And the crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee."(nas) Mat 21:11 οἱ δὲ ὄχλοι ἔλεγον, οὖτός ἐστιν ὁ προφήτης ἰησοῦς ὁ ἀπὸ ναζαρὲθ τῆς γαλιλαίας. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:11 Populi autem dicebant: Hic est Jesus propheta a Nazareth Galilææ.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמְרוּ הֲמוֹן הָעָם זֶה הוּא הַנָּבִיא יֵשׁוּעַ מִנְּצֶרֶת אֲשֶׁר בַּגָּלִיל׃ יא Matthew Mat 21:11 Das Volk aber sprach: Das ist der Jesus, der Prophet von Nazareth aus Galiläa.(dhs) Mat 21:11 So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee."(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:12 ============ Mat 21:12 And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.(nas) Mat 21:12 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ ἱερόν, καὶ ἐξέβαλεν πάντας τοὺς πωλοῦντας καὶ ἀγοράζοντας ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ, καὶ τὰς τραπέζας τῶν κολλυβιστῶν κατέστρεψεν καὶ τὰς καθέδρας τῶν πωλούντων τὰς περιστεράς, (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:12 Et intravit Jesus in templum Dei, et ejiciebat omnes vendentes et ementes in templo, et mensas numulariorum, et cathedras vendentium columbas evertit:(vulgate) וַיָּבוֹא יֵשׁוּעַ אֶל־מִקְדַּשׁ הָאֱלֹהִים וַיְגָרֶשׁ מִשָּׁם כָּל־הַמּוֹכְרִים וְהַקּוֹנִים בַּמִּקְדָּשׁ וַיַּהֲפֹךְ אֶת־שֻׁלְחֲנוֹת מַחֲלִפֵי הַכֶּסֶף וְאֶת־מוֹשְׁבוֹת מֹכְרֵי הַיּוֹנִים׃ יב Matthew Mat 21:12 Und Jesus ging zum Tempel Gottes hinein und trieb heraus alle Verkäufer und Käufer im Tempel und stieß um der Wechsler Tische und die Stühle der Taubenkrämer(dhs) Mat 21:12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:13 ============ Mat 21:13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer'; but you are making it a robbers' den."(nas) Mat 21:13 καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, γέγραπται, ὁ οἶκός μου οἶκος προσευχῆς κληθήσεται, ὑμεῖς δὲ αὐτὸν ποιεῖτε σπήλαιον λῃστῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:13 et dicit eis: Scriptum est: Domus mea domus orationis vocabitur: vos autem fecistis illam speluncam latronum.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם הֵן כָּתוּב כִּי בֵיתִי בֵּית־תְּפִלָּה יִקָּרֵא וְאַתֶּם עֲשִׂיתֶם אֹתוֹ לִמְעָרַת פָּרִיצִים׃ יג Matthew Mat 21:13 und sprach zu ihnen: Es steht geschrieben: "Mein Haus soll ein Bethaus heißen"; ihr aber habt eine Mördergrube daraus gemacht.(dhs) Mat 21:13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.' "(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:14 ============ Mat 21:14 And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.(nas) Mat 21:14 καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῶ τυφλοὶ καὶ χωλοὶ ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτούς. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:14 Et accesserunt ad eum cæci, et claudi in templo: et sanavit eos.(vulgate) וַיִּגְּשׁוּ אֵלָיו עִוְרִים וּפִסְחִים בְּבֵית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ וַיִּרְפָּאֵם׃ יד Matthew Mat 21:14 Und es gingen zu ihm Blinde und Lahme im Tempel, und er heilte sie.(dhs) Mat 21:14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:15 ============ Mat 21:15 But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they became indignant(nas) Mat 21:15 ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς τὰ θαυμάσια ἃ ἐποίησεν καὶ τοὺς παῖδας τοὺς κράζοντας ἐν τῶ ἱερῶ καὶ λέγοντας, ὡσαννὰ τῶ υἱῶ δαυίδ, ἠγανάκτησαν (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:15 Videntes autem principes sacerdotum et scribæ mirabilia quæ fecit, et pueros clamantes in templo, et dicentes: Hosanna filio David: indignati sunt,(vulgate) וַיִּרְאוּ רָאשֵׁי הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַסּוֹפְרִים אֵת הַנִּפְלָאוֹת אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה וְאֵת הַיְלָדִים קֹרְאִים וְעֹנִים בַּמִּקְדָּשׁ הוֹשַׁע־נָא לְבֶן־דָּוִד וַיִּחַר לָהֶם׃ טו Matthew Mat 21:15 Da aber die Hohenpriester und Schriftgelehrten sahen die Wunder, die er tat, und die Kinder, die im Tempel schrieen und sagten: Hosianna dem Sohn Davids! wurden sie entrüstet(dhs) Mat 21:15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were indignant(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:16 ============ Mat 21:16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these children are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies You have prepared praise for Yourself'?"(nas) Mat 21:16 καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῶ, ἀκούεις τί οὖτοι λέγουσιν; ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς λέγει αὐτοῖς, ναί· οὐδέποτε ἀνέγνωτε ὅτι ἐκ στόματος νηπίων καὶ θηλαζόντων κατηρτίσω αἶνον; (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:16 et dixerunt ei: Audis quid isti dicunt? Jesus autem dixit eis: Utique. Numquam legistis: Quia ex ore infantium et lactentium perfecisti laudem?(vulgate) וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו הֲכִי שָׁמַעְתָּ מָה אֵלֶּה אֹמְרִים וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם יֵשׁוּעַ הֵן הֲלֹא קְרָאתֶם מִפִּי עוֹלְלִים וְיוֹנְקִים יִסַּדְתָּ עֹז׃ טז Matthew Mat 21:16 und sprachen zu ihm: Hörst du auch, was diese sagen? Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Ja! Habt ihr nie gelesen: "Aus dem Munde der Unmündigen und Säuglinge hast du Lob zugerichtet"?(dhs) Mat 21:16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:17 ============ Mat 21:17 And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there.(nas) Mat 21:17 καὶ καταλιπὼν αὐτοὺς ἐξῆλθεν ἔξω τῆς πόλεως εἰς βηθανίαν, καὶ ηὐλίσθη ἐκεῖ. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:17 Et relictis illis, abiit foras extra civitatem in Bethaniam: ibique mansit.~(vulgate) וַיַּעַזְבֵם וַיֵּצֵא אֶל־מִחוּץ לָעִיר אֶל־בֵּית־עַנְיָה וַיָּלֶן שָׁם׃ יז Matthew Mat 21:17 Und er ließ sie da und ging zur Stadt hinaus gen Bethanien und blieb daselbst.(dhs) Mat 21:17 Then He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and He lodged there.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:18 ============ Mat 21:18 Now in the morning, when He was returning to the city, He became hungry.(nas) Mat 21:18 πρωῒ δὲ ἐπανάγων εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἐπείνασεν. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:18 Mane autem revertens in civitatem, esuriit.(vulgate) וַיָּשָׁב הָעִירָה בַּבֹּקֶר וְהוּא רָעֵב׃ יח Matthew Mat 21:18 Als er aber des Morgens wieder in die Stadt ging, hungerte ihn;(dhs) Mat 21:18 Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry.(nkjv) ======= Matthew 21:19 ============ Mat 21:19 Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He said to it, "No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you." And at once the fig tree withered.(nas) Mat 21:19 καὶ ἰδὼν συκῆν μίαν ἐπὶ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἦλθεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν, καὶ οὐδὲν εὖρεν ἐν αὐτῇ εἰ μὴ φύλλα μόνον, καὶ λέγει αὐτῇ, μηκέτι ἐκ σοῦ καρπὸς γένηται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. καὶ ἐξηράνθη παραχρῆμα ἡ συκῆ. (Nestle-Aland) Mat 21:19 Et videns fici arborem unam secus viam, venit ad eam: et nihil invenit in ea nisi folia tantum, et ait illi: Numquam ex te fructus nascatur in sempiternum. Et arefacta est continuo ficulnea.(vulgate) וַיַּרְא תְּאֵנָה אַחַת בַּדָּרֶךְ וַיִּקְרַב אֵלֶיהָ וְלֹא־מְצָא בָהּ מְאוּמָה זוּלָתִי עָלִים לְבַדָּם וַיֹּאמֶר לָהּ לֹא־תַעֲשִׂי עוֹד פְּרִי מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָם וַתִּיבַשׁ הַתְּאֵנָה פִּתְאֹם׃ יט Matthew Mat 21:19 und er sah einen Feigenbaum am Wege und ging hinzu und fand nichts daran denn allein Blätter und sprach zu ihm: Nun wachse auf dir hinfort nimmermehr eine Frucht! Und der Feigenbaum verdorrte alsbald.(dhs) Mat 21:19 And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you ever again."
