Today's Date: ======= Mark 9:1 ============ Mar 9:1 And Jesus was saying to them," Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power."(nas) Mar 9:1 καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἰσίν τινες ὧδε τῶν ἑστηκότων οἵτινες οὐ μὴ γεύσωνται θανάτου ἕως ἂν ἴδωσιν τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐληλυθυῖαν ἐν δυνάμει. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:1 Et dicebat illis: Amen dico vobis, quia sunt quidam de hic stantibus, qui non gustabunt mortem donec videant regnum Dei veniens in virtute.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם אָמֵן אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם יֵשׁ מִן־הַנִּצָּבִים פֹּה אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יִטְעֲמוּ מָוֶת עַד כִּי־יִרְאוּ צֵאת מַלְכוּת אֱלֹהִים בִּגְבוּרָה׃ א Mark Mar 9:1 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich ich sage euch: Es stehen etliche hier, die werden den Tod nicht schmecken, bis daß sie sehen das Reich Gottes mit seiner Kraft kommen.(dhs) Mar 9:1 And He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power."(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:2 ============ Mar 9:2 Six days later, Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John, and brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them;(nas) Mar 9:2 καὶ μετὰ ἡμέρας ἓξ παραλαμβάνει ὁ ἰησοῦς τὸν πέτρον καὶ τὸν ἰάκωβον καὶ τὸν ἰωάννην, καὶ ἀναφέρει αὐτοὺς εἰς ὄρος ὑψηλὸν κατ᾽ ἰδίαν μόνους. καὶ μετεμορφώθη ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν, (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:2 Et post dies sex assumit Jesus Petrum, et Jacobum, et Joannem, et ducit illos in montem excelsum seorsum solos, et transfiguratus est coram ipsis.(vulgate) וְאַחֲרֵי שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים לָקַח יֵשׁוּעַ אֶת־פֶּטְרוֹס וְאֶת־יַעֲקֹב וְאֶת־יוֹחָנָן אִתּוֹ וַיְבִיאֵם אֶל־הַר גָּבֹהַּ לְבַדָּם וַיִּשְׁתַּנֶּה לְעֵינֵיהֶם׃ ב Mark Mar 9:2 Und nach sechs Tagen nahm Jesus zu sich Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes und führte sie auf einen hohen Berg besonders allein und verklärte sich vor ihnen.(dhs) Mar 9:2 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:3 ============ Mar 9:3 and His garments became radiant and exceedingly white, as no launderer on earth can whiten them.(nas) Mar 9:3 καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο στίλβοντα λευκὰ λίαν οἷα γναφεὺς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς οὐ δύναται οὕτως λευκᾶναι. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:3 Et vestimenta ejus facta sunt splendentia, et candida nimis velut nix, qualia fullo non potest super terram candida facere.(vulgate) וּבְגָדָיו נוֹצְצוּ וְהִלְבִּינוּ אֵין כּוֹבֵס בָּאָרֶץ יוּכַל לְכַבֵּס בְּגָדִים לְבָנִים כְּמוֹהֶם׃ ג Mark Mar 9:3 Und seine Kleider wurden hell und sehr weiß wie der Schnee, daß sie kein Färber auf Erden kann so weiß machen.(dhs) Mar 9:3 His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:4 ============ Mar 9:4 Elijah appeared to them along with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.(nas) Mar 9:4 καὶ ὤφθη αὐτοῖς ἠλίας σὺν μωϊσεῖ, καὶ ἦσαν συλλαλοῦντες τῶ ἰησοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:4 Et apparuit illis Elias cum Moyse: et erant loquentes cum Jesu.(vulgate) וְהִנֵּה אֵלִיָּהוּ וּמשֶׁה נִרְאוּ אֲלֵיהֶם מִדַּבְּרִים עִם־יֵשׁוּעַ׃ ד Mark Mar 9:4 Und es erschien ihnen Elia mit Mose und hatten eine Rede mit Jesu.(dhs) Mar 9:4 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:5 ============ Mar 9:5 Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah."(nas) Mar 9:5 καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ πέτρος λέγει τῶ ἰησοῦ, ῥαββί, καλόν ἐστιν ἡμᾶς ὧδε εἶναι, καὶ ποιήσωμεν τρεῖς σκηνάς, σοὶ μίαν καὶ μωϊσεῖ μίαν καὶ ἠλίᾳ μίαν. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:5 Et respondens Petrus, ait Jesu: Rabbi, bonum est nos hic esse: et faciamus tria tabernacula, tibi unum, et Moysi unum, et Eliæ unum.(vulgate) וַיַּעַן פֶּטְרוֹס וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־יֵשׁוּעַ רַבִּי טוֹב לָנוּ לָשֶׁבֶת פֹּה נַעֲשֶׂה־נָּא שָׁלֹשׁ סֻכּוֹת אַחַת לְךָ אַחַת לְמֹשֶׁה וְאַחַת לְאֵלִיָּהוּ׃ ה Mark Mar 9:5 Und Petrus antwortete und sprach zu Jesu: Rabbi, hier ist gut sein. Lasset uns drei Hütten machen: dir eine, Mose eine und Elia eine.(dhs) Mar 9:5 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah"--(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:6 ============ Mar 9:6 For he did not know what to answer; for they became terrified.(nas) Mar 9:6 οὐ γὰρ ᾔδει τί ἀποκριθῇ, ἔκφοβοι γὰρ ἐγένοντο. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:6 Non enim sciebat quid diceret: erant enim timore exterriti.(vulgate) כִּי הוּא לֹא־יָדַע מַה־לְּדַבֵּר כִּי נָפְלָה עֲלֵיהֶם אֵימָתָה וָפָחַד׃ ו Mark Mar 9:6 Er wußte aber nicht, was er redete; denn sie waren bestürzt.(dhs) Mar 9:6 because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:7 ============ Mar 9:7 Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is My beloved Son, listen to Him!"(nas) Mar 9:7 καὶ ἐγένετο νεφέλη ἐπισκιάζουσα αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἐγένετο φωνὴ ἐκ τῆς νεφέλης, οὖτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱός μου ὁ ἀγαπητός, ἀκούετε αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:7 Et facta est nubes obumbrans eos: et venit vox de nube, dicens: Hic est Filius meus carissimus: audite illum.(vulgate) וְהִנֵּה עָנָן סָכַךְ עֲלֵיהֶם וְקוֹל יֹצֵא מִן־הֶעָנָן לֵאמֹר זֶה בְּנִי יְדִידִי אֵלָיו תִּשְׁמָעוּן׃ ז Mark Mar 9:7 Und es kam eine Wolke, die überschattete sie. Und eine Stimme fiel aus der Wolke und sprach: Das ist mein lieber Sohn; den sollt ihr hören!(dhs) Mar 9:7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:8 ============ Mar 9:8 All at once they looked around and saw no one with them anymore, except Jesus alone.(nas) Mar 9:8 καὶ ἐξάπινα περιβλεψάμενοι οὐκέτι οὐδένα εἶδον ἀλλὰ τὸν ἰησοῦν μόνον μεθ᾽ ἑαυτῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:8 Et statim circumspicientes, neminem amplius viderunt, nisi Jesum tantum secum.(vulgate) וּפִתְאֹם הִבִּיטוּ מִסָּבִיב וְלֹא־רָאוּ עוֹד אִישׁ זוּלָתִי יֵשׁוּעַ לְבַדּוֹ אִתָּם׃ ח Mark Mar 9:8 Und bald darnach sahen sie um sich und sahen niemand mehr denn allein Jesum bei ihnen.(dhs) Mar 9:8 Suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no one anymore, but only Jesus with themselves.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:9 ============ Mar 9:9 As they were coming down from the mountain, He gave them orders not to relate to anyone what they had seen, until the Son of Man rose from the dead.(nas) Mar 9:9 καὶ καταβαινόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους διεστείλατο αὐτοῖς ἵνα μηδενὶ ἃ εἶδον διηγήσωνται, εἰ μὴ ὅταν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστῇ. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:9 Et descendentibus illis de monte, præcepit illis ne cuiquam quæ vidissent, narrarent: nisi cum Filius hominis a mortuis resurrexerit.(vulgate) וַיְהִי בְּרִדְתָּם מִן־הָהָר וַיְצַו אֹתָם לְבִלְתִּי הַגֵּד לְאִישׁ אֶת־אֲשֶׁר רָאוּ עַד כִּי־יָקוּם בֶּן־הָאָדָם מִן־הַמֵּתִים׃ ט Mark Mar 9:9 Da sie aber vom Berge herabgingen, verbot ihnen Jesus, daß sie niemand sagen sollten, was sie gesehen hatten, bis des Menschen Sohn auferstünde von den Toten.(dhs) Mar 9:9 Now as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things they had seen, till the Son of Man had risen from the dead.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:10 ============ Mar 9:10 They seized upon that statement, discussing with one another what rising from the dead meant.(nas) Mar 9:10 καὶ τὸν λόγον ἐκράτησαν πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς συζητοῦντες τί ἐστιν τὸ ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναστῆναι. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:10 Et verbum continuerunt apud se: conquirentes quid esset, cum a mortuis resurrexerit.(vulgate) וְהֵם שָׁמְרוּ אֶת־הַדָּבָר בְּלִבָּם וַיַּחְקְרוּ בֵינֵיהֶם מַה־הִיא הַתְּקוּמָה מִן־הַמֵּתִים׃ י Mark Mar 9:10 Und sie behielten das Wort bei sich und befragten sich untereinander: Was ist doch das Auferstehen von den Toten?(dhs) Mar 9:10 So they kept this word to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:11 ============ Mar 9:11 They asked Him, saying, "Why is it that the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"(nas) Mar 9:11 καὶ ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν λέγοντες, ὅτι λέγουσιν οἱ γραμματεῖς ὅτι ἠλίαν δεῖ ἐλθεῖν πρῶτον; (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:11 Et interrogabant eum, dicentes: Quid ergo dicunt pharisæi et scribæ, quia Eliam oportet venire primum?(vulgate) וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ אֹתוֹ לֵאמֹר לָמָּה־זֶּה יֹאמְרוּ הַסּוֹפְרִים כִּי אֵלִיָּהוּ בֹּא יָבֹא רִאשׁוֹנָה׃ יא Mark Mar 9:11 Und sie fragten ihn und sprachen: Sagen doch die Schriftgelehrten, daß Elia muß zuvor kommen.(dhs) Mar 9:11 And they asked Him, saying, "Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:12 ============ Mar 9:12 And He said to them, "Elijah does first come and restore all things. And yet how is it written of the Son of Man that He will suffer many things and be treated with contempt?(nas) Mar 9:12 ὁ δὲ ἔφη αὐτοῖς, ἠλίας μὲν ἐλθὼν πρῶτον ἀποκαθιστάνει πάντα, καὶ πῶς γέγραπται ἐπὶ τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἵνα πολλὰ πάθῃ καὶ ἐξουδενηθῇ; (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:12 Qui respondens, ait illis: Elias cum venerit primo, restituet omnia: et quomodo scriptum est in Filium hominis, ut multa patiatur et contemnatur.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם אָכֵן אֵלִיָּהוּ יָבֹא רִאשׁוֹנָה וְהֵשִׁיב אֶת־הַכֹּל וּכְמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב עַל בֶּן־הָאָדָם כֵּן גַּם־הוּא נָכוֹן לִהְיוֹת מְעֻנֶּה וּמְדֻכָּא וְנִגְזָר מֵאֶרֶץ חַיִּים׃ יב Mark Mar 9:12 Er antwortete aber und sprach zu ihnen: Elia soll ja zuvor kommen und alles wieder zurechtbringen; dazu soll des Menschen Sohn viel leiden und verachtet werden, wie denn geschrieben steht.(dhs) Mar 9:12 Then He answered and told them, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:13 ============ Mar 9:13 But I say to you that Elijah has indeed come, and they did to him whatever they wished, just as it is written of him."(nas) Mar 9:13 ἀλλὰ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι καὶ ἠλίας ἐλήλυθεν, καὶ ἐποίησαν αὐτῶ ὅσα ἤθελον, καθὼς γέγραπται ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:13 Sed dico vobis quia et Elias venit (et fecerunt illi quæcumque voluerunt) sicut scriptum est de eo.~(vulgate) אֶפֶס אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם כִּי גַּם־אֵלִיָּהוּ כְּבָר בָּא וַיַּעֲשׂוּ־בוֹ כִּרְצוֹנָם כַּכָּתוּב עָלָיו׃ יג Mark Mar 9:13 Aber ich sage euch: Elia ist gekommen, und sie haben an ihm getan, was sie wollten, nach dem von ihm geschrieben steht.(dhs) Mar 9:13 But I say to you that Elijah has also come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him."(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:14 ============ Mar 9:14 When they came back to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them, and some scribes arguing with them.(nas) Mar 9:14 καὶ ἐλθόντες πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς εἶδον ὄχλον πολὺν περὶ αὐτοὺς καὶ γραμματεῖς συζητοῦντας πρὸς αὐτούς. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:14 Et veniens ad discipulos suos, vidit turbam magnam circa eos, et scribas conquirentes cum illis.(vulgate) וַיְהִי כְּבֹאָם אֶל־שְׁאָר הַתַּלְמִידִים וַיִּרְאוּ עַם־רָב סְבִיבוֹתָם וְסוֹפְרִים מִתְוַכְּחִים עִמָּהֶם׃ יד Mark Mar 9:14 Und er kam zu seinen Jüngern und sah viel Volks um sie und Schriftgelehrte, die sich mit ihnen befragten.(dhs) Mar 9:14 And when He came to the disciples, He saw a great multitude around them, and scribes disputing with them.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:15 ============ Mar 9:15 Immediately, when the entire crowd saw Him, they were amazed and began running up to greet Him.(nas) Mar 9:15 καὶ εὐθὺς πᾶς ὁ ὄχλος ἰδόντες αὐτὸν ἐξεθαμβήθησαν, καὶ προστρέχοντες ἠσπάζοντο αὐτόν. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:15 Et confestim omnis populus videns Jesum, stupefactus est, et expaverunt, et accurrentes salutabant eum.(vulgate) וְכָל־הָעָם כִּרְאוֹתָם אֹתוֹ הִשְׁתָּאוּ תָּמָהוּ וַיָּרֻצוּ וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ־לוֹ לְשָׁלוֹם׃ טו Mark Mar 9:15 Und alsbald, da alles Volk ihn sah, entsetzten sie sich, liefen zu und grüßten ihn.(dhs) Mar 9:15 Immediately, when they saw Him, all the people were greatly amazed, and running to Him, greeted Him.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:16 ============ Mar 9:16 And He asked them, "What are you discussing with them?"(nas) Mar 9:16 καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτούς, τί συζητεῖτε πρὸς αὐτούς; (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:16 Et interrogavit eos: Quid inter vos conquiritis?(vulgate) וְהוּא שָׁאַל אוֹתָם מָה־אַתֶּם מִתְוַכְּחִים עִמָּהֶם׃ טז Mark Mar 9:16 Und er fragte die Schriftgelehrten: Was befragt ihr euch mit ihnen?(dhs) Mar 9:16 And He asked the scribes, "What are you discussing with them?"(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:17 ============ Mar 9:17 And one of the crowd answered Him, "Teacher, I brought You my son, possessed with a spirit which makes him mute;(nas) Mar 9:17 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῶ εἷς ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου, διδάσκαλε, ἤνεγκα τὸν υἱόν μου πρὸς σέ, ἔχοντα πνεῦμα ἄλαλον· (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:17 Et respondens unus de turba, dixit: Magister, attuli filium meum ad te habentem spiritum mutum:(vulgate) וַיַּעַן אֹתוֹ אֶחָד מִן־הָעָם רַבִּי הֵבֵאתִי לְךָ בָּזֶה אֶת־בְּנִי אֲשֶׁר־רוּחַ אִלֵּם מְבַעֲתוֹ׃ יז Mark Mar 9:17 Einer aber aus dem Volk antwortete und sprach: Meister, ich habe meinen Sohn hergebracht zu dir, der hat einen sprachlosen Geist.(dhs) Mar 9:17 Then one of the crowd answered and said, "Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:18 ============ Mar 9:18 and whenever it seizes him, it slams him to the ground and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth and stiffens out. I told Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not do it."(nas) Mar 9:18 καὶ ὅπου ἐὰν αὐτὸν καταλάβῃ ῥήσσει αὐτόν, καὶ ἀφρίζει καὶ τρίζει τοὺς ὀδόντας καὶ ξηραίνεται· καὶ εἶπα τοῖς μαθηταῖς σου ἵνα αὐτὸ ἐκβάλωσιν, καὶ οὐκ ἴσχυσαν. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:18 qui ubicumque eum apprehenderit, allidit illum, et spumat, et stridet dentibus, et arescit: et dixi discipulis tuis ut ejicerent illum, et non potuerunt.(vulgate) וּלְעֵת יַחֲזִיק בּוֹ יִטְרְפֶנּוּ יוֹרִיד רִירוֹ וְשִׁנָּיו יַחֲרֹק עַד־אֲשֶׁר יָבֵשׁ כֹּחוֹ וָאֹמַר אֶל־תַּלְמִידֶיךָ לְגָרְשׁוֹ וְלֹא יָכֹלוּ׃ יח Mark Mar 9:18 Und wo er ihn erwischt, da reißt er ihn; und er schäumt und knirscht mit den Zähnen und verdorrt. Ich habe mit deinen Jüngern geredet, daß sie ihn austrieben, und sie können's nicht.(dhs) Mar 9:18 And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not."(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:19 ============ Mar 9:19 And He answered them and said, "O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!"(nas) Mar 9:19 ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτοῖς λέγει, ὦ γενεὰ ἄπιστος, ἕως πότε πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἔσομαι; ἕως πότε ἀνέξομαι ὑμῶν; φέρετε αὐτὸν πρός με. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:19 Qui respondens eis, dixit: O generatio incredula, quamdiu apud vos ero? quamdiu vos patiar? afferte illum ad me.(vulgate) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם הוֹי דּוֹר לֹא אֵמֻן בּוֹ עַד־מָתַי אֶהְיֶה עִמָּכֶם עַד־מָתַי אֶשָּׂא אֶתְכֶם הֲבִיאֻהוּ אֵלַי הֵנָּה׃ יט Mark Mar 9:19 Er antwortete ihm aber und sprach: O du ungläubiges Geschlecht, wie lange soll ich bei euch sein? wie lange soll ich euch tragen? Bringet ihn her zu mir!(dhs) Mar 9:19 He answered him and said, "O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me."(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:20 ============ Mar 9:20 They brought the boy to Him. When he saw Him, immediately the spirit threw him into a convulsion, and falling to the ground, he began rolling around and foaming at the mouth.(nas) Mar 9:20 καὶ ἤνεγκαν αὐτὸν πρὸς αὐτόν. καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὸν τὸ πνεῦμα εὐθὺς συνεσπάραξεν αὐτόν, καὶ πεσὼν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐκυλίετο ἀφρίζων. (Nestle-Aland) Mar 9:20 Et attulerunt eum. Et cum vidisset eum, statim spiritus conturbavit illum: et elisus in terram, volutabatur spumans.(vulgate) וַיְבִיאֻהוּ לְפָנָיו וְכַאֲשֶׁר רָאָהוּ הָרוּחַ וַיַּחְתֹּף אֹתוֹ חָתֹף וְטָרֹף וַיִּפֹּל אַרְצָה וַיִּתְגֹּלֵל בְּרִירוֹ׃ כ Mark Mar 9:20 Und sie brachten ihn her zu ihm. Und alsbald, da ihn der Geist sah, riß er ihn; und er fiel auf die Erde und wälzte sich und schäumte.(dhs) Mar 9:20 Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.(nkjv) ======= Mark 9:21 ============ Mar 9:21 And He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?"
