(Nestle-Aland) Act 12:1 Eodem autem tempore misit Herodes rex manus, ut affligeret quosdam de ecclesia.(vulgate) בָּעֵת הַהִיא שָׁלַח הוֹרְדוֹס הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶת־יָדוֹ בְּאַנְשֵׁי הָעֵדָה לְעַנּוֹתָם׃ א Acts Act 12:1 Um diese Zeit legte der König Herodes die Hände an etliche von der Gemeinde, sie zu peinigen.(dhs) Act 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:2 ============ Act 12:2 And he had James the brother of John put to death with a sword.(nas) Act 12:2 ἀνεῖλεν δὲ ἰάκωβον τὸν ἀδελφὸν ἰωάννου μαχαίρῃ. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:2 Occidit autem Jacobum fratrem Joannis gladio.(vulgate) וַיַּהֲרֹג אֶת־יַעֲקֹב אֲחִי יוֹחָנָן בֶּחָרֶב׃ ב Acts Act 12:2 Er tötete aber Jakobus, den Bruder des Johannes, mit dem Schwert.(dhs) Act 12:2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:3 ============ Act 12:3 When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. Now it was during the days of Unleavened Bread.(nas) Act 12:3 ἰδὼν δὲ ὅτι ἀρεστόν ἐστιν τοῖς ἰουδαίοις προσέθετο συλλαβεῖν καὶ πέτρον ἦσαν δὲ [αἱ] ἡμέραι τῶν ἀζύμων, (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:3 Videns autem quia placeret Judæis, apposuit ut apprehenderet et Petrum. Erant autem dies Azymorum.(vulgate) וַיַּרְא כִּי־טוֹב הַדָּבָר בְּעֵינֵי הַיְּהוּדִים וַיּוֹסֶף וַיִּתְפֹּשׂ גַּם־אֶת־פֶּטְרוֹס וְהַיָּמִים יְמֵי חַג־הַמַּצּוֹת׃ ג Acts Act 12:3 Und da er sah, daß es den Juden gefiel, fuhr er fort und fing Petrus auch. Es waren aber eben die Tage der süßen Brote.(dhs) Act 12:3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:4 ============ Act 12:4 When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out before the people.(nas) Act 12:4 ὃν καὶ πιάσας ἔθετο εἰς φυλακήν, παραδοὺς τέσσαρσιν τετραδίοις στρατιωτῶν φυλάσσειν αὐτόν, βουλόμενος μετὰ τὸ πάσχα ἀναγαγεῖν αὐτὸν τῶ λαῶ. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:4 Quem cum apprehendisset, misit in carcerem, tradens quatuor quaternionibus militum custodiendum, volens post Pascha producere eum populo.(vulgate) וַיַּחֲזֶק־בּוֹ וַיִּתְּנֵהוּ בְּבֵית הַכֶּלֶא וַיִּשְׁמְרֻהוּ אַרְבַּע מַחְלְקוֹת אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא אַרְבָּעָה אַרְבָּעָה כָּל־מַחְלְקָה כִּי אָמַר לְהַעֲמִידוֹ לִפְנֵי הָעָם אַחֲרֵי הַפָּסַח׃ ד Acts Act 12:4 Da er ihn nun griff, legte er ihn ins Gefängnis und überantwortete ihn vier Rotten, je von vier Kriegsknechten, ihn zu bewahren, und gedachte, ihn nach Ostern dem Volk vorzustellen.(dhs) Act 12:4 So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:5 ============ Act 12:5 So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God.(nas) Act 12:5 ὁ μὲν οὗν πέτρος ἐτηρεῖτο ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ· προσευχὴ δὲ ἦν ἐκτενῶς γινομένη ὑπὸ τῆς ἐκκλησίας πρὸς τὸν θεὸν περὶ αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:5 Et Petrus quidem servabatur in carcere. Oratio autem fiebant sine intermissione ab ecclesia ad Deum pro eo.~(vulgate) וַיְהִי פֶּטְרוֹס עָצוּר בְּבֵית כִּלְאוֹ אַךְ הָעֵדָה הֶעְתִּירָה בַעֲדוֹ אֶל־אֱלֹהִים בְּחָזְקָה׃ ה Acts Act 12:5 Und Petrus ward zwar im Gefängnis gehalten; aber die Gemeinde betete ohne Aufhören für ihn zu Gott.(dhs) Act 12:5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:6 ============ Act 12:6 On the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison.(nas) Act 12:6 ὅτε δὲ ἤμελλεν προαγαγεῖν αὐτὸν ὁ ἡρῴδης, τῇ νυκτὶ ἐκείνῃ ἦν ὁ πέτρος κοιμώμενος μεταξὺ δύο στρατιωτῶν δεδεμένος ἁλύσεσιν δυσίν, φύλακές τε πρὸ τῆς θύρας ἐτήρουν τὴν φυλακήν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:6 Cum autem producturus eum esset Herodes, in ipsa nocte erat Petrus dormiens inter duos milites, vinctus catenis duabus: et custodes ante ostium custodiebant carcerem.(vulgate) וְאַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר חָפֵץ הוֹרְדוֹס לַהֲבִיאוֹ לַמִּשְׁפָּט בַּלַּיְלָה הַהוּא שָׁכַב פֶּטְרוֹס עַל־מִשְׁכָּבוֹ בֵּין שְׁנֵי אֲנָשִׁים חֲמֻשִּׁים אָסוּר בִּשְׁנַיִם כְּבָלִים וְשֹׁמְרֵי בֵית הַכֶּלֶא נִצָּבִים עַל־הַסָּף׃ ו Acts Act 12:6 Und da ihn Herodes wollte vorstellen, in derselben Nacht schlief Petrus zwischen zwei Kriegsknechten, gebunden mit zwei Ketten, und die Hüter vor der Tür hüteten das Gefängnis.(dhs) Act 12:6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:7 ============ Act 12:7 And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter's side and woke him up, saying, "Get up quickly." And his chains fell off his hands.(nas) Act 12:7 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄγγελος κυρίου ἐπέστη, καὶ φῶς ἔλαμψεν ἐν τῶ οἰκήματι· πατάξας δὲ τὴν πλευρὰν τοῦ πέτρου ἤγειρεν αὐτὸν λέγων, ἀνάστα ἐν τάχει. καὶ ἐξέπεσαν αὐτοῦ αἱ ἁλύσεις ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:7 Et ecce angelus Domini astitit, et lumen refulsit in habitaculo: percussoque latere Petri, excitavit eum, dicens: Surge velociter. Et ceciderunt catenæ de manibus ejus.(vulgate) וְהִנֵּה מַלְאַךְ יְהוָֹה נִצָּב עָלָיו וְאוֹר נָגַהּ בְּלִשְׁכָּתוֹ וַיִּגַּע בְּכַף יֶרֶךְ פֶּטְרוֹס וַיְעִירֵהוּ לֵאמֹר קוּם מַהֵר וַיִּמַּסּוּ אֲסוּרָיו מֵעַל יָדָיו׃ ז Acts Act 12:7 Und siehe, der Engel des HERRN kam daher, und ein Licht schien in dem Gemach; und er schlug Petrus an die Seite und weckte ihn und sprach: Stehe behende auf! Und die Ketten fielen ihm von seinen Händen.(dhs) Act 12:7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off his hands.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:8 ============ Act 12:8 And the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and put on your sandals." And he did so. And he said to him, "Wrap your cloak around you and follow me."(nas) Act 12:8 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ ἄγγελος πρὸς αὐτόν, ζῶσαι καὶ ὑπόδησαι τὰ σανδάλιά σου. ἐποίησεν δὲ οὕτως. καὶ λέγει αὐτῶ, περιβαλοῦ τὸ ἱμάτιόν σου καὶ ἀκολούθει μοι. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:8 Dixit autem angelus ad eum: Præcingere, et calcea te caligas tuas. Et fecit sic. Et dixit illi: Circumda tibi vestimentum tuum, et sequere me.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו הַמַּלְאָךְ חֲגֹר מָתְנֶיךָ וּנְעָלֶיךָ שִׂים בְּרַגְלֶיךָ וַיַּעַשׂ כֵּן וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו וְאֶת־מְעִילְךָ עֲטֵה וְלֵךְ אַחֲרָי׃ ח Acts Act 12:8 Und der Engel sprach zu ihm: Gürte dich und tu deine Schuhe an! Und er tat also. Und er sprach zu ihm: Wirf deinen Mantel um dich und folge mir nach!(dhs) Act 12:8 Then the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and tie on your sandals"; and so he did. And he said to him, "Put on your garment and follow me."(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:9 ============ Act 12:9 And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.(nas) Act 12:9 καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἠκολούθει, καὶ οὐκ ᾔδει ὅτι ἀληθές ἐστιν τὸ γινόμενον διὰ τοῦ ἀγγέλου, ἐδόκει δὲ ὅραμα βλέπειν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:9 Et exiens sequebatur eum, et nesciebat quia verum est, quod fiebat per angelum: existimabat autem se visum videre.(vulgate) וַיֵּצֵא וַיֵּלֶךְ אַחֲרָיו וְנַפְשׁוֹ לֹא יָדְעָה אִם־אֱמֶת הוּא אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה לּוֹ בְּיַד הַמַּלְאָךְ כִּי כְּחִזָּיוֹן נִרְאָה בְעֵינָיו׃ ט Acts Act 12:9 Und er ging hinaus und folgte ihm und wußte nicht, daß ihm wahrhaftig solches geschähe durch den Engel; sondern es deuchte ihn, er sähe ein Gesicht.(dhs) Act 12:9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:10 ============ Act 12:10 When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.(nas) Act 12:10 διελθόντες δὲ πρώτην φυλακὴν καὶ δευτέραν ἦλθαν ἐπὶ τὴν πύλην τὴν σιδηρᾶν τὴν φέρουσαν εἰς τὴν πόλιν, ἥτις αὐτομάτη ἠνοίγη αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἐξελθόντες προῆλθον ῥύμην μίαν, καὶ εὐθέως ἀπέστη ὁ ἄγγελος ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:10 Transeuntes autem primam et secundam custodiam, venerunt ad portam ferream, quæ ducit ad civitatem: quæ ultro aperta est eis. Et exeuntes processerunt vicum unum: et continuo discessit angelus ab eo.~(vulgate) וַיַּעַבְרוּ אֶת־טוּר הַשֹּׁמְרִים הָרִאשׁוֹנִים וְאֶת־טוּר הַשְּׁנִיִּים וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־שַׁעַר הַבַּרְזֶל הַיֹּצֵא הָעִירָה אֲשֶׁר נִפְתַּח לִפְנֵיהֶם מֵאֵלָיו וַיֵּצְאוּ בוֹ וַיַּעַבְרוּ רְחוֹב אֶחָד וַיַּעַל הַמַּלְאָךְ מֵעָלָיו פִּתְאֹם׃ י Acts Act 12:10 Sie gingen aber durch die erste und andere Hut und kamen zu der eisernen Tür, welche zur Stadt führt; die tat sich ihnen von selber auf. Und sie traten hinaus und gingen hin eine Gasse lang; und alsobald schied der Engel von ihm.(dhs) Act 12:10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:11 ============ Act 12:11 When Peter came to himself, he said, "Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting."(nas) Act 12:11 καὶ ὁ πέτρος ἐν ἑαυτῶ γενόμενος εἶπεν, νῦν οἶδα ἀληθῶς ὅτι ἐξαπέστειλεν [ὁ] κύριος τὸν ἄγγελον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξείλατό με ἐκ χειρὸς ἡρῴδου καὶ πάσης τῆς προσδοκίας τοῦ λαοῦ τῶν ἰουδαίων. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:11 Et Petrus ad se reversus, dixit: Nunc scio vere quia misit Dominus angelum suum, et eripuit me de manu Herodis, et de omni exspectatione plebis Judæorum.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר פֶּטְרוֹס כְּשׁוּב דַּעְתּוֹ אֵלָיו עַתָּה יָדַעְתִּי אֶל־נָכוֹן כִּי שָׁלַח יְהוָֹה אֶת־מַלְאָכוֹ וַיַּצִּילֵנִי מִכַּף הוֹרְדוֹס וּמִכָּל־צְדִיַּת עַם־הַיְּהוּדִים׃ יא Acts Act 12:11 Und da Petrus zu sich selber kam, sprach er: Nun weiß ich wahrhaftig, daß der HERR seinen Engel gesandt hat und mich errettet aus der Hand des Herodes und von allen Warten des jüdischen Volkes.(dhs) Act 12:11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people."(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:12 ============ Act 12:12 And when he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who was also called Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.(nas) Act 12:12 συνιδών τε ἦλθεν ἐπὶ τὴν οἰκίαν τῆς μαρίας τῆς μητρὸς ἰωάννου τοῦ ἐπικαλουμένου μάρκου, οὖ ἦσαν ἱκανοὶ συνηθροισμένοι καὶ προσευχόμενοι. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:12 Consideransque venit ad domum Mariæ matris Joannis, qui cognominatus est Marcus, ubi erant multi congregati, et orantes.(vulgate) עוֹדֶנּוּ מְדַבֵּר אֶל־לִבּוֹ וַיָּבֹא אֶל־בֵּית מִרְיָם אֵם יוֹחָנָן הַמְכֻנֶּה מַרְקוֹס וְשָׁם רַבִּים נִקְהָלִים וּמִתְפַּלְּלִים׃ יב Acts Act 12:12 Und als er sich besann, kam er vor das Haus Marias, der Mutter des Johannes, der mit dem Zunamen Markus hieß, da viele beieinander waren und beteten.(dhs) Act 12:12 So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:13 ============ Act 12:13 When he knocked at the door of the gate, a servant-girl named Rhoda came to answer.(nas) Act 12:13 κρούσαντος δὲ αὐτοῦ τὴν θύραν τοῦ πυλῶνος προσῆλθεν παιδίσκη ὑπακοῦσαι ὀνόματι ῥόδη· (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:13 Pulsante autem eo ostium januæ, processit puella ad audiendum, nomine Rhode.(vulgate) וַיִּדְפֹּק עַל־דֶּלֶת הַשָּׁעַר וַתָּבֹא נַעֲרָה אַחַת לְקוֹל הַדֹּפֵק וּשְׁמָהּ רוֹדִי׃ יג Acts Act 12:13 Als aber Petrus an die Tür des Tores klopfte, trat hervor eine Magd, zu horchen, mit Namen Rhode.(dhs) Act 12:13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:14 ============ Act 12:14 When she recognized Peter's voice, because of her joy she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter was standing in front of the gate.(nas) Act 12:14 καὶ ἐπιγνοῦσα τὴν φωνὴν τοῦ πέτρου ἀπὸ τῆς χαρᾶς οὐκ ἤνοιξεν τὸν πυλῶνα, εἰσδραμοῦσα δὲ ἀπήγγειλεν ἑστάναι τὸν πέτρον πρὸ τοῦ πυλῶνος. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:14 Et ut cognovit vocem Petri, præ gaudio non aperuit januam, sed intro currens nuntiavit stare Petrum ante januam.(vulgate) וַתַּכֵּר אֶת־קוֹל פֶּטְרוֹס ומִשִּׂמְחָתָהּ לֹא־פָתְחָה לּוֹ אֶת־הַדָּלֶת כִּי אִם־רָצָה הַבַּיְתָה וַתַּגֵּד לָהֶם כִּי־פֶטְרוֹס עֹמֵד עַל־הַפָּתַח׃ יד Acts Act 12:14 Und als sie des Petrus Stimme erkannte, tat sie das Tor nicht auf vor Freuden, lief aber hinein und verkündigte es ihnen, Petrus stünde vor dem Tor.(dhs) Act 12:14 When she recognized Peter's voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:15 ============ Act 12:15 They said to her, "You are out of your mind!" But she kept insisting that it was so. They kept saying, "It is his angel."(nas) Act 12:15 οἱ δὲ πρὸς αὐτὴν εἶπαν, μαίνῃ. ἡ δὲ διϊσχυρίζετο οὕτως ἔχειν. οἱ δὲ ἔλεγον, ὁ ἄγγελός ἐστιν αὐτοῦ. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:15 At illi dixerunt ad eam: Insanis. Illa autem affirmabat sic se habere. Illi autem dicebant: Angelus ejus est.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלֶיהָ מִשְׁתַּגֵּעָה אָתְּ וְהִיא אָמְרָה לֹא כִּי־כֵן הַדָּבָר אָז אָמְרוּ כִּי־מַלְאָכוֹ הוּא׃ טו Acts Act 12:15 Sie aber sprachen zu ihr: Du bist unsinnig. Sie aber bestand darauf, es wäre also. Sie sprachen: Es ist sein Engel.(dhs) Act 12:15 But they said to her, "You are beside yourself!" Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, "It is his angel."(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:16 ============ Act 12:16 But Peter continued knocking; and when they had opened the door, they saw him and were amazed.(nas) Act 12:16 ὁ δὲ πέτρος ἐπέμενεν κρούων· ἀνοίξαντες δὲ εἶδαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξέστησαν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:16 Petrus autem perseverabat pulsans. Cum autem aperuissent, viderunt eum, et obstupuerunt.(vulgate) וּפֶטְרוֹס הוֹסִיף לִדְפֹּק וַיִּפְתְּחוּ וַיִּרְאוּ אֹתוֹ וַיְהִי לְפֶלֶא בְּעֵינֵיהֶם׃ טז Acts Act 12:16 Petrus klopfte weiter an. Da sie aber auftaten, sahen sie ihn und entsetzten sich.(dhs) Act 12:16 Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:17 ============ Act 12:17 But motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison. And he said, "Report these things to James and the brethren." Then he left and went to another place.(nas) Act 12:17 κατασείσας δὲ αὐτοῖς τῇ χειρὶ σιγᾶν διηγήσατο [αὐτοῖς] πῶς ὁ κύριος αὐτὸν ἐξήγαγεν ἐκ τῆς φυλακῆς, εἶπέν τε, ἀπαγγείλατε ἰακώβῳ καὶ τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ταῦτα. καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἐπορεύθη εἰς ἕτερον τόπον. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:17 Annuens autem eis manu ut tacerent, narravit quomodo Dominus eduxisset eum de carcere, dixitque: Nuntiate Jacobo et fratribus hæc. Et egressus abiit in alium locum.~(vulgate) וַיָּנֶף יָדוֹ לָהֶם לַחְשׁוֹת וַיְסַפֵּר לָהֶם אֵת אֲשֶׁר־הוֹצִיאוֹ הָאָדוֹן מִבֵּית הַכֶּלֶא וַיֹּאמֶר הַגִּידוּ זֹאת לְיַעֲקֹב וְלָאַחִים וַיֵּצֵא וַיֵּלֶךְ־לוֹ לְמָקוֹם אַחֵר׃ יז Acts Act 12:17 Er aber winkte ihnen mit der Hand, zu schweigen, und erzählte ihnen, wie ihn der HERR hatte aus dem Gefängnis geführt, und sprach: Verkündiget dies Jakobus und den Brüdern. Und ging hinaus und zog an einen andern Ort.(dhs) Act 12:17 But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, "Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren." And he departed and went to another place.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:18 ============ Act 12:18 Now when day came, there was no small disturbance among the soldiers as to what could have become of Peter.(nas) Act 12:18 γενομένης δὲ ἡμέρας ἦν τάραχος οὐκ ὀλίγος ἐν τοῖς στρατιώταις, τί ἄρα ὁ πέτρος ἐγένετο. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:18 Facta autem die, erat non parva turbatio inter milites, quidnam factum esset de Petro.(vulgate) הַבֹּקֶר אוֹר וּמְהוּמָה רַבָּה הָיְתָה בֵּין אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא לֵאמֹר מֶה־הָיָה לְפֶטְרוֹס׃ יח Acts Act 12:18 Da es aber Tag ward, war eine nicht kleine Bekümmernis unter den Kriegsknechten, wie es doch mit Petrus gegangen wäre.(dhs) Act 12:18 Then, as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter.(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:19 ============ Act 12:19 When Herod had searched for him and had not found him, he examined the guards and ordered that they be led away to execution. At illi unanimes venerunt ad eum, et persuaso Blasto, qui erat super cubiculum regis, postulabant pacem, eo quod alerentur regiones eorum ab illo.(vulgate) אָז חָרָה אַפּוֹ בַּצֹּרִים וּבַצִּדֹנִים וְהֵם בָּאוּ אֵלָיו בְּלֵב אֶחָד וַיְדַבְּרוּ עַל־לֵב בְּלַסְטוֹס אֲשֶׁר עַל־חֲדַר הַמֶּלֶךְ לְהַפְגִּיעַ בַּעֲדָם וְלַעֲשׂוֹת שָׁלוֹם לָהֶם כִּי מֵאֶרֶץ הַמֶּלֶךְ הוֹצִיאוּ לָהֶם אֶת־שֶׁבֶר רַעֲבוֹן אַרְצוֹתָם׃ כ Acts Act 12:20 Denn er gedachte, wider die von Tyrus und Sidon zu kriegen. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:22 Populus autem acclamabat: Dei voces, et non hominis.(vulgate) וַיָּרִיעוּ הָאָם לֵאמֹר קוֹל אֱלֹהִים הוּא וְלֹא קוֹל אָדָם׃ כב Acts Act 12:22 Das Volk aber rief zu: Das ist Gottes Stimme und nicht eines Menschen!(dhs) Act 12:22 And the people kept shouting, "The voice of a god and not of a man!"(nkjv) ======= Acts 12:23 ============ Act 12:23 And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.(nas) Act 12:23 παραχρῆμα δὲ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν ἄγγελος κυρίου ἀνθ᾽ ὧν οὐκ ἔδωκεν τὴν δόξαν τῶ θεῶ, καὶ γενόμενος σκωληκόβρωτος ἐξέψυξεν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 12:23 Confestim autem percussit eum angelus Domini, eo quod non dedisset honorem Deo: et consumptus a vermibus, expiravit.(vulgate) וַיַּכֵּהוּ מַלְאַךְ־יְהוָֹה כְּרֶגַע כִּי לֹא־נָתַן כָּבוֹד לֵאלֹהִים וַיֹּאכְלֻהוּ תוֹלָעִים וַיָּמֹת׃ כג Acts Act 12:23 Alsbald schlug ihn der Engel des HERRN, darum daß er die Ehre nicht Gott gab; und ward gefressen von den Würmern und gab den Geist auf.(dhs) Act 12:23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God.
