ἀλλήλους καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν σκηνήν (lxx) Exo 18:7 Qui egressus in occursum cognati sui, adoravit, et osculatus est eum: salutaveruntque se mutuo verbis pacificis. Cumque intrasset tabernaculum,(vulgate) Exodus 18:7 And Moses went out to meete his father in law, and did obeisance and kissed him, and eche asked other of his welfare: and they came into the tent.(Geneva) Exo 18:7 Da ging Mose hinaus ihm entgegen und neigte sich vor ihm und küßte ihn. Und da sie sich untereinander gegrüßt hatten, gingen sie in die Hütte.(dhs) Exo 18:7 So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their well-being, and they went into the tent.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:8 ============ Exo 18:8 Moses told his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the hardship that had befallen them on the journey, and how the Lord had delivered them.(nas) Exo 18:8 καὶ διηγήσατο Μωυσῆς τῷ γαμβρῷ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος τῷ Φαραω καὶ τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις ἕνεκεν τοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ πάντα τὸν μόχθον τὸν γενόμενον αὐτοῖς ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ καὶ ὅτι ἐξείλατο αὐτοὺς κύριος ἐκ χειρὸς Φαραω καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν Αἰγυπτίων (lxx) Exo 18:8 narravit Moyses cognato suo cuncta quæ fecerat Dominus Pharaoni et Ægyptiis propter Israël: universumque laborem, qui accidisset eis in itinere, et quod liberaverat eos Dominus.(vulgate) Exodus 18:8 Then Moses told his father in law all that the Lorde had done vnto Pharaoh, and to the Egyptians for Israels sake, and all the trauaile that had come vnto them by the way, and howe the Lord deliuered them.(Geneva) Exo 18:8 Da erzählte Mose seinem Schwiegervater alles, was der HERR dem Pharao und den Ägyptern getan hatte Israels halben, und alle die Mühsal, die ihnen auf den Wege begegnet war, und daß sie der HERR errettet hätte.(dhs) Exo 18:8 And Moses told his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how the Lord had delivered them.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:9 ============ Exo 18:9 Jethro rejoiced over all the goodness which the Lord had done to Israel, in delivering them from the hand of the Egyptians.(nas) Exo 18:9 ἐξέστη δὲ Ιοθορ ἐπὶ πᾶσι τοῖς ἀγαθοῖς οἷς ἐποίησεν αὐτοῖς κύριος ὅτι ἐξείλατο αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς Αἰγυπτίων καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς Φαραω (lxx) Exo 18:9 Lætatusque est Jethro super omnibus bonis, quæ fecerat Dominus Israëli, eo quod eruisset eum de manu Ægyptiorum.(vulgate) Exodus 18:9 And Iethro reioyced at all the goodnesse, which the Lord had shewed to Israel, and because he had deliuered them out of the hande of the Egyptians.(Geneva) Exo 18:9 Jethro aber freute sich all des Guten, das der HERR Israel getan hatte, daß er sie errettet hatte von der Ägypter Hand.(dhs) Exo 18:9 Then Jethro rejoiced for all the good which the Lord had done for Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:10 ============ Exo 18:10 So Jethro said, "Blessed be the Lord who delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh, and who delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.(nas) Exo 18:10 καὶ εἶπεν Ιοθορ εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὅτι ἐξείλατο τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἐκ χειρὸς Αἰγυπτίων καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς Φαραω (lxx) Exo 18:10 Et ait: Benedictus Dominus, qui liberavit vos de manu Ægyptiorum, et de manu Pharaonis; qui eruit populum suum de manu Ægypti.(vulgate) Exodus 18:10 Therfore Iethro sayd, Blessed be the Lord who hath deliuered you out of the hande of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh: who hath also deliuered the people from vnder the hand of the Egyptians.(Geneva) Exo 18:10 Und Jethro sprach: Gelobt sei der HERR, der euch errettet hat von der Ägypter und Pharaos Hand, der weiß sein Volk von der Ägypter Hand zu erretten.(dhs) Exo 18:10 And Jethro said, "Blessed be the Lord, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:11 ============ Exo 18:11 Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; indeed, it was proven when they dealt proudly against the people."(nas) Exo 18:11 νῦν ἔγνων ὅτι μέγας κύριος παρὰ πάντας τοὺς θεούς ἕνεκεν τούτου ὅτι ἐπέθεντο αὐτοῖς (lxx) Exo 18:11 Nunc cognovi, quia magnus Dominus super omnes deos: eo quod superbe egerint contra illos.(vulgate) Exodus 18:11 Now I know that the Lord is greater then all the gods: for as they haue dealt proudly with them, so are they recompensed.(Geneva) Exo 18:11 Nun weiß ich, daß der HERR größer ist denn alle Götter, darum daß sie Hochmut an ihnen geübt haben.(dhs) Exo 18:11 Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:12 ============ Exo 18:12 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God, and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat a meal with Moses' father-in-law before God.(nas) Exo 18:12 καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιοθορ ὁ γαμβρὸς Μωυσῆ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ θυσίας τῷ θεῷ παρεγένετο δὲ Ααρων καὶ πάντες οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ισραηλ συμφαγεῖν ἄρτον μετὰ τοῦ γαμβροῦ Μωυσῆ ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ (lxx) Exo 18:12 Obtulit ergo Jethro cognatus Moysi holocausta et hostias Deo: veneruntque Aaron et omnes seniores Israël, ut comederent panem cum eo coram Deo.~(vulgate) Exodus 18:12 Then Iethro Moses father in lawe tooke burnt offerings and sacrifices to offer vnto God; Aaron & all the Elders of Israel came to eat bread with Moses father in law before God.(Geneva) Exo 18:12 Und Jethro, Mose's Schwiegervater, brachte Gott ein Brandopfer mit Dankopfern. Da kamen Aaron und alle Ältesten in Israel, mit Mose's Schwiegervater das Brot zu essen vor Gott.(dhs) Exo 18:12 Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and other sacrifices to offer to God. And Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:13 ============ Exo 18:13 It came about the next day that Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood about Moses from the morning until the evening.(nas) Exo 18:13 καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὴν ἐπαύριον συνεκάθισεν Μωυσῆς κρίνειν τὸν λαόν παρειστήκει δὲ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς Μωυσεῖ ἀπὸ πρωίθεν ἕως ἑσπέρας (lxx) Exo 18:13 Altera autem die sedit Moyses ut judicaret populum, qui assistebat Moysi a mane usque ad vesperam.(vulgate) Exodus 18:13 Now on the morow, when Moses sate to iudge the people, the people stoode about Moses from morning vnto euen.(Geneva) Exo 18:13 Des andern Morgens setzte sich Mose, das Volk zu richten; und das Volk stand um Mose her von Morgen an bis zu Abend.(dhs) Exo 18:13 And so it was, on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people; and the people stood before Moses from morning until evening.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:14 ============ Exo 18:14 Now when Moses' father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, he said, "What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge and all the people stand about you from morning until evening?"(nas) Exo 18:14 καὶ ἰδὼν Ιοθορ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίει τῷ λαῷ λέγει τί τοῦτο ὃ σὺ ποιεῖς τῷ λαῷ διὰ τί σὺ κάθησαι μόνος πᾶς δὲ ὁ λαὸς παρέστηκέν σοι ἀπὸ πρωίθεν ἕως δείλης (lxx) Exo 18:14 Quod cum vidisset cognatus ejus, omnia scilicet quæ agebat in populo, ait: Quid est hoc quod facis in plebe? cur solus sedes, et omnis populus præstolatur de mane usque ad vesperam?(vulgate) Exodus 18:14 And when Moses father in law saw all that he did to the people, he sayde, What is this that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thy selfe alone, and all the people stande about thee from morning vnto euen?(Geneva) Exo 18:14 Da aber sein Schwiegervater sah alles, was er dem Volke tat, sprach er: Was ist's, das du tust mit dem Volk? Warum sitzt du allein, und alles Volk steht um dich her von Morgen an bis zu Abend?(dhs) Exo 18:14 So when Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said, "What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?"(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:15 ============ Exo 18:15 Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God.(nas) Exo 18:15 καὶ λέγει Μωυσῆς τῷ γαμβρῷ ὅτι παραγίνεται πρός με ὁ λαὸς ἐκζητῆσαι κρίσιν παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ (lxx) Exo 18:15 Cui respondit Moyses: Venit ad me populus quærens sententiam Dei:(vulgate) Exodus 18:15 And Moses sayd vnto his father in law, Because the people come vnto me to seeke God.(Geneva) Exo 18:15 Mose antwortete ihm: Das Volk kommt zu mir, Gott um Rat zu fragen.(dhs) Exo 18:15 And Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of God.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:16 ============ Exo 18:16 When they have a dispute, it comes to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor and make known the statutes of God and His laws." (nas) Exo 18:16 ὅταν γὰρ γένηται αὐτοῖς ἀντιλογία καὶ ἔλθωσι πρός με διακρίνω ἕκαστον καὶ συμβιβάζω αὐτοὺς τὰ προστάγματα τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τὸν νόμον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Exo 18:16 cumque acciderit eis aliqua disceptatio, veniunt ad me ut judicem inter eos, et ostendam præcepta Dei, et leges ejus.(vulgate) Exodus 18:16 When they haue a matter, they come vnto me, and I iudge betweene one and another, and declare the ordinances of God, and his lawes.(Geneva) Exo 18:16 Denn wo sie was zu schaffen haben, kommen sie zu mir, daß ich richte zwischen einem jeglichen und seinem Nächsten und zeige ihnen Gottes Rechte und seine Gesetze.(dhs) Exo 18:16 When they have a difficulty, they come to me, and I judge between one and another; and I make known the statutes of God and His laws."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:17 ============ Exo 18:17 Moses' father-in-law said to him, "The thing that you are doing is not good.(nas) Exo 18:17 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ γαμβρὸς Μωυσῆ πρὸς αὐτόν οὐκ ὀρθῶς σὺ ποιεῖς τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο (lxx) Exo 18:17 At ille: Non bonam, inquit, rem facis.(vulgate) Exodus 18:17 But Moses father in law said vnto him, The thing which thou doest, is not well.(Geneva) Exo 18:17 Sein Schwiegervater sprach zu ihm: Es ist nicht gut, was du tust.(dhs) Exo 18:17 So Moses' father-in-law said to him, "The thing that you do is not good.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:18 ============ Exo 18:18 You will surely wear out, both yourself and these people who are with you, for the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.(nas) Exo 18:18 φθορᾷ καταφθαρήσῃ ἀνυπομονήτῳ καὶ σὺ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς οὗτος ὅς ἐστιν μετὰ σοῦ βαρύ σοι τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο οὐ δυνήσῃ ποιεῖν μόνος (lxx) Exo 18:18 Stulto labore consumeris et tu, et populus iste qui tecum est: ultra vires tuas est negotium; solus illud non poteris sustinere.(vulgate) Exodus 18:18 Thou both weariest thy selfe greatly, & this people that is with thee: for the thing is too heauie for thee: thou art not able to doe it thy selfe alone.(Geneva) Exo 18:18 Du machst dich zu müde, dazu das Volk auch, das mit dir ist. Das Geschäft ist dir zu schwer; du kannst's allein nicht ausrichten.(dhs) Exo 18:18 Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 18:19 ============ Exo 18:19 Now listen to me: I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You be the people's representative before God, and you bring the disputes to God,(nas) Exo 18:19 νῦν οὖν ἄκουσόν μου καὶ συμβουλεύσω σοι καὶ ἔσται ὁ θεὸς μετὰ σοῦ γίνου σὺ τῷ λαῷ τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεὸν καὶ ἀνοίσεις τοὺς λόγους αὐτῶν πρὸς τὸν θεὸν (lxx) Exo 18:19 Sed audi verba mea atque consilia, et erit Deus tecum. Esto tu populo in his quæ ad Deum pertinent, ut referas quæ dicuntur ad eum:(vulgate) Exodus 18:19 Heare nowe my voyce, (I will giue thee counsell, and God shalbe with thee) be thou for the people to Godwarde, and report thou the causes vnto God,(Geneva) Exo 18:19 Aber gehorche meiner Stimme; ich will dir raten, und Gott wird mit dir sein.
