Today's Date: ======= Deuteronomy 13:1 ============ Deu 13:1 "If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,(nas) Deu 13:1 ἐὰν δὲ ἀναστῇ ἐν σοὶ προφήτης ἢ ἐνυπνιαζόμενος ἐνύπνιον καὶ δῷ σοι σημεῖον ἢ τέρας (lxx) Deu 13:1 Si surrexerit in medio tui prophetes, aut qui somnium vidisse se dicat, et prædixerit signum atque portentum,(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:1 If there arise amog you a prophet or a dreamer of dreames, (and giue thee a signe or wonder,(Geneva) Deu 13:1 Wenn ein Prophet oder Träumer unter euch wird aufstehen und gibt dir ein Zeichen oder Wunder,(dhs) Deu 13:1 "If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:2 ============ Deu 13:2 and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,'(nas) Deu 13:2 καὶ ἔλθῃ τὸ σημεῖον ἢ τὸ τέρας ὃ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς σὲ λέγων πορευθῶμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις οὓς οὐκ οἴδατε (lxx) Deu 13:2 et evenerit quod locutus est, et dixerit tibi: Eamus, et sequamur deos alienos quos ignoras, et serviamus eis:(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:2 And the signe and the wonder, which hee hath tolde thee, come to passe) saying, Let vs go after other gods, which thou hast not knowen, and let vs serue them,(Geneva) Deu 13:2 und das Zeichen oder Wunder kommt, davon er dir gesagt hat, und er spricht: Laß uns andern Göttern folgen, die ihr nicht kennt, und ihnen dienen;(dhs) Deu 13:2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods'--which you have not known--'and let us serve them,'(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:3 ============ Deu 13:3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the Lord your God is testing you to find out if you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.(nas) Deu 13:3 οὐκ ἀκούσεσθε τῶν λόγων τοῦ προφήτου ἐκείνου ἢ τοῦ ἐνυπνιαζομένου τὸ ἐνύπνιον ἐκεῖνο ὅτι πειράζει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμᾶς εἰδέναι εἰ ἀγαπᾶτε κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς ὑμῶν (lxx) Deu 13:3 non audies verba prophetæ illius aut somniatoris: quia tentat vos Dominus Deus vester, ut palam fiat utrum diligatis eum an non, in toto corde, et in tota anima vestra.(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken vnto the wordes of the prophet, or vnto that dreamer of dreames: for the Lord your God prooueth you, to knowe whether ye loue the Lord your God with al your heart, and with all your soule.(Geneva) Deu 13:3 so sollst du nicht gehorchen den Worten des Propheten oder Träumers; denn der HERR, euer Gott, versucht euch, daß er erfahre, ob ihr ihn von ganzem Herzen liebhabt.(dhs) Deu 13:3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:4 ============ Deu 13:4 You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.(nas) Deu 13:4 ὀπίσω κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν πορεύεσθε καὶ αὐτὸν φοβηθήσεσθε καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ φυλάξεσθε καὶ τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσεσθε καὶ αὐτῷ προστεθήσεσθε (lxx) Deu 13:4 Dominum Deum vestrum sequimini, et ipsum timete, et mandata illius custodite, et audite vocem ejus: ipsi servietis, et ipsi adhærebitis.(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:4 Yee shall walke after the Lorde your God and feare him, and shall keepe his commaundements, and hearken vnto his voyce, and yee shall serue him, and cleaue vnto him.(Geneva) Deu 13:4 Denn ihr sollt dem HERRN, eurem Gott, folgen und ihn fürchten und seine Gebote halten und seiner Stimme gehorchen und ihm dienen und ihm anhangen.(dhs) Deu 13:4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:5 ============ Deu 13:5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has counseled rebellion against the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to seduce you from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from among you.(nas) Deu 13:5 καὶ ὁ προφήτης ἐκεῖνος ἢ ὁ τὸ ἐνύπνιον ἐνυπνιαζόμενος ἐκεῖνος ἀποθανεῖται ἐλάλησεν γὰρ πλανῆσαί σε ἀπὸ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ ἐξαγαγόντος σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου τοῦ λυτρωσαμένου σε ἐκ τῆς δουλείας ἐξῶσαί σε ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἧς ἐνετείλατό σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου πορεύεσθαι ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ ἀφανιεῖς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν (lxx) Deu 13:5 Propheta autem ille aut fictor somniorum interficietur: quia locutus est ut vos averteret a Domino Deo vestro, qui eduxit vos de terra Ægypti, et redemit vos de domo servitutis: ut errare te faceret de via, quam tibi præcepit Dominus Deus tuus: et auferes malum de medio tui.(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:5 But that prophet, or that dreamer of dreames, he shall be slaine, because hee hath spoken to turne you away from the Lord your God (which brought you out of the lande of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the house of bodage) to thrust thee out of the way, wherein the Lorde thy God commanded thee to walke: so shalt thou take the euill away foorth of the middes of thee.(Geneva) Deu 13:5 Der Prophet aber oder der Träumer soll sterben, darum daß er euch von dem HERRN, eurem Gott, der euch aus Ägyptenland geführt und dich von dem Diensthause erlöst hat, abzufallen gelehrt und dich aus dem Wege verführt hat, den der HERR, dein Gott, geboten hat, darin zu wandeln, auf daß du das Böse von dir tust.(dhs) Deu 13:5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:6 ============ Deu 13:6 "If your brother, your mother's son, or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your friend who is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods' (whom neither you nor your fathers have known,(nas) Deu 13:6 ἐὰν δὲ παρακαλέσῃ σε ὁ ἀδελφός σου ἐκ πατρός σου ἢ ἐκ μητρός σου ἢ ὁ υἱός σου ἢ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ἢ ἡ γυνὴ ἡ ἐν κόλπῳ σου ἢ ὁ φίλος ὁ ἴσος τῆς ψυχῆς σου λάθρᾳ λέγων βαδίσωμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις οὓς οὐκ ᾔδεις σὺ καὶ οἱ πατέρες σου (lxx) Deu 13:6 Si tibi voluerit persuadere frater tuus filius matris tuæ, aut filius tuus vel filia, sive uxor quæ est in sinu tuo, aut amicus, quem diligis ut animam tuam, clam dicens: Eamus, et serviamus diis alienis, quos ignoras tu, et patres tui,(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:6 If thy brother, the sonne of thy mother, or thine owne sonne, or thy daughter, or the wife, that lyeth in thy bosome, or thy friend, which is as thine owne soule, intice thee secretly, saying, Let vs goe and serue other gods, (which thou hast not knowen, thou, I say, nor thy fathers)(Geneva) Deu 13:6 Wenn dich dein Bruder, deiner Mutter Sohn, oder dein Sohn oder deine Tochter oder das Weib in deinen Armen oder dein Freund, der dir ist wie dein Herz, heimlich überreden würde und sagen: Laß uns gehen und andern Göttern dienen! -die du nicht kennst noch deine Väter,(dhs) Deu 13:6 "If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods,' which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:7 ============ Deu 13:7 of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near you or far from you, from one end of the earth to the other end),(nas) Deu 13:7 ἀπὸ τῶν θεῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν τῶν περικύκλῳ ὑμῶν τῶν ἐγγιζόντων σοι ἢ τῶν μακρὰν ἀπὸ σοῦ ἀπ᾽ ἄκρου τῆς γῆς ἕως ἄκρου τῆς γῆς (lxx) Deu 13:7 cunctarum in circuitu gentium, quæ juxta vel procul sunt, ab initio usque ad finem terræ,(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:7 Any of the gods of the people which are round about you, neere vnto thee or farre off from thee, from the one ende of the earth vnto ye other:(Geneva) Deu 13:7 von den Göttern der Völker, die um euch her sind, sie seien dir nahe oder ferne, von einem Ende der Erde bis an das andere,(dhs) Deu 13:7 of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:8 ============ Deu 13:8 you shall not yield to him or listen to him; and your eye shall not pity him, nor shall you spare or conceal him.(nas) Deu 13:8 οὐ συνθελήσεις αὐτῷ καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούσῃ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ φείσεται ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ οὐκ ἐπιποθήσεις ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ οὐδ᾽ οὐ μὴ σκεπάσῃς αὐτόν (lxx) Deu 13:8 non acquiescas ei, nec audias, neque parcat ei oculus tuus ut miserearis et occultes eum,(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:8 Thou shalt not cosent vnto him, nor heare him, neither shall thine eye pitie him, nor shewe mercie, nor keepe him secret:(Geneva) Deu 13:8 so willige nicht darein und gehorche ihm nicht. Auch soll dein Auge seiner nicht schonen, und sollst dich seiner nicht erbarmen noch ihn verbergen,(dhs) Deu 13:8 you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him;(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:9 ============ Deu 13:9 But you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.(nas) Deu 13:9 ἀναγγέλλων ἀναγγελεῖς περὶ αὐτοῦ αἱ χεῖρές σου ἔσονται ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἐν πρώτοις ἀποκτεῖναι αὐτόν καὶ αἱ χεῖρες παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτῳ (lxx) Deu 13:9 sed statim interficies: sit primum manus tua super eum, et postea omnis populus mittat manum.(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:9 But thou shalt euen kill him: thine hand shall be first vpon him to put him to death, and then the handes of all the people.(Geneva) Deu 13:9 sondern sollst ihn erwürgen. Deine Hand soll die erste über ihm sein, daß man ihn töte, und darnach die Hand des ganzen Volks.(dhs) Deu 13:9 but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:10 ============ Deu 13:10 So you shall stone him to death because he has sought to seduce you from the Lord your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.(nas) Deu 13:10 καὶ λιθοβολήσουσιν αὐτὸν ἐν λίθοις καὶ ἀποθανεῖται ὅτι ἐζήτησεν ἀποστῆσαί σε ἀπὸ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ ἐξαγαγόντος σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας (lxx) Deu 13:10 Lapidibus obrutus necabitur: quia voluit te abstrahere a Domino Deo tuo, qui eduxit te de terra Ægypti, de domo servitutis:(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he dye (because he hath gone about to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of ye land of Egypt, from ye house of bondage)(Geneva) Deu 13:10 Man soll ihn zu Tode steinigen, denn er hat dich wollen verführen von dem HERRN, deinem Gott, der dich aus Ägyptenland, aus dem Diensthaus, geführt hat,(dhs) Deu 13:10 And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:11 ============ Deu 13:11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such a wicked thing among you.(nas) Deu 13:11 καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἀκούσας φοβηθήσεται καὶ οὐ προσθήσουσιν ἔτι ποιῆσαι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ πονηρὸν τοῦτο ἐν ὑμῖν (lxx) Deu 13:11 ut omnis Israël audiens timeat, et nequaquam ultra faciat quippiam hujus rei simile.~(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:11 That all Israel may heare and feare, and doe no more any such wickednesse as this among you.(Geneva) Deu 13:11 auf daß ganz Israel höre und fürchte sich und man nicht mehr solch Übel vornehme unter euch.(dhs) Deu 13:11 So all Israel shall hear and fear, and not again do such wickedness as this among you.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:12 ============ Deu 13:12 "If you hear in one of your cities, which the Lord your God is giving you to live in, anyone saying that(nas) Deu 13:12 ἐὰν δὲ ἀκούσῃς ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεών σου ὧν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι κατοικεῖν σε ἐκεῖ λεγόντων (lxx) Deu 13:12 Si audieris in una urbium tuarum, quas Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi ad habitandum, dicentes aliquos:(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:12 If thou shalt heare say (concerning any of thy cities which the Lord thy God hath giuen thee to dwell in)(Geneva) Deu 13:12 Wenn du hörst von irgend einer Stadt, die dir der HERR, dein Gott, gegeben hat, darin zu wohnen, daß man sagt:(dhs) Deu 13:12 "If you hear someone in one of your cities, which the Lord your God gives you to dwell in, saying,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:13 ============ Deu 13:13 some worthless men have gone out from among you and have seduced the inhabitants of their city, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods' (whom you have not known),(nas) Deu 13:13 ἐξήλθοσαν ἄνδρες παράνομοι ἐξ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀπέστησαν πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν πόλιν αὐτῶν λέγοντες πορευθῶμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις οὓς οὐκ ᾔδειτε (lxx) Deu 13:13 Egressi sunt filii Belial de medio tui, et averterunt habitatores urbis suæ, atque dixerunt: Eamus, et serviamus diis alienis quos ignoratis:(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:13 Wicked men are gone out from among you, & haue drawen away the inhabitants of their citie, saying, Let vs go and serue other gods, which ye haue not knowen,(Geneva) Deu 13:13 Es sind etliche heillose Leute ausgegangen unter dir und haben die Bürger ihrer Stadt verführt und gesagt: Laßt uns gehen und andern Göttern dienen! -die ihr nicht kennt-(dhs) Deu 13:13 'Corrupt men have gone out from among you and enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, "Let us go and serve other gods" '--which you have not known--(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:14 ============ Deu 13:14 then you shall investigate and search out and inquire thoroughly. If it is true and the matter established that this abomination has been done among you,(nas) Deu 13:14 καὶ ἐρωτήσεις καὶ ἐραυνήσεις σφόδρα καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀληθὴς σαφῶς ὁ λόγος γεγένηται τὸ βδέλυγμα τοῦτο ἐν ὑμῖν (lxx) Deu 13:14 quare sollicite et diligenter, rei veritate perspecta, si inveneris certum esse quod dicitur, et abominationem hanc opere perpetratam,(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:14 Then thou shalt seeke, and make searche and enquire diligently: and if it be true, and the thing certaine, that such abomination is wrought among you,(Geneva) Deu 13:14 so sollst du sie fleißig suchen, forschen und fragen. Und so sich findet die Wahrheit, daß es gewiß also ist, daß der Greuel unter euch geschehen ist,(dhs) Deu 13:14 then you shall inquire, search out, and ask diligently. And if it is indeed true and certain that such an abomination was committed among you,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:15 ============ Deu 13:15 you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying it and all that is in it and its cattle with the edge of the sword.(nas) Deu 13:15 ἀναιρῶν ἀνελεῖς πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ ἐν φόνῳ μαχαίρας ἀναθέματι ἀναθεματιεῖτε αὐτὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ (lxx) Deu 13:15 statim percuties habitatores urbis illius in ore gladii, et delebis eam ac omnia quæ in illa sunt, usque ad pecora.(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:15 Thou shalt euen slay the inhabitants of that citie with the edge of the sworde: destroy it vtterly, and all that is therein, and the cattel thereof with the edge of the sworde.(Geneva) Deu 13:15 so sollst du die Bürger derselben Stadt schlagen mit des Schwertes Schärfe und sie verbannen mit allem, was darin ist, und ihr Vieh mit der Schärfe des Schwerts.(dhs) Deu 13:15 you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword--utterly destroying it, all that is in it and its livestock, with the edge of the sword.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:16 ============ Deu 13:16 Then you shall gather all its booty into the middle of its open square and burn the city and all its booty with fire as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God; and it shall be a ruin forever. It shall never be rebuilt.(nas) Deu 13:16 καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς συνάξεις εἰς τὰς διόδους αὐτῆς καὶ ἐμπρήσεις τὴν πόλιν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς πανδημεὶ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου καὶ ἔσται ἀοίκητος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα οὐκ ἀνοικοδομηθήσεται ἔτι (lxx) Deu 13:16 Quidquid etiam supellectilis fuerit, congregabis in medio platearum ejus, et cum ipsa civitate succendes, ita ut universa consumas Domino Deo tuo, et sit tumulus sempiternus. Non ædificabitur amplius,(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:16 And thou shalt gather all the spoyle of it into the middes of the streete thereof, and burne with fire the citie and all the spoyle thereof euery whit, vnto the Lorde thy God: and it shall be an heape for euer: it shall not be built againe.(Geneva) Deu 13:16 Und allen ihren Raub sollst du sammeln mitten auf die Gasse und mit Feuer verbrennen, die Stadt und allen ihren Raub miteinander, dem HERRN, deinem Gott, daß sie auf einem Haufen liege ewiglich und nie wieder gebaut werde.(dhs) Deu 13:16 And you shall gather all its plunder into the middle of the street, and completely burn with fire the city and all its plunder, for the Lord your God. It shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again.(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:17 ============ Deu 13:17 Nothing from that which is put under the ban shall cling to your hand, in order that the Lord may turn from His burning anger and show mercy to you, and have compassion on you and make you increase, just as He has sworn to your fathers,(nas) Deu 13:17 οὐ προσκολληθήσεται ἐν τῇ χειρί σου οὐδὲν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀναθέματος ἵνα ἀποστραφῇ κύριος ἀπὸ θυμοῦ τῆς ὀργῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ δώσει σοι ἔλεος καὶ ἐλεήσει σε καὶ πληθυνεῖ σε ὃν τρόπον ὤμοσεν κύριος τοῖς πατράσιν σου (lxx) Deu 13:17 et non adhærebit de illo anathemate quidquam in manu tua: ut avertatur Dominus ab ira furoris sui, et misereatur tui, multiplicetque te sicut juravit patribus tuis,(vulgate) Deuteronomy 13:17 And there shall cleaue nothing of ye damned thing to thine hand, that the Lord may turne from the fiercenes of his wrath, and shewe thee mercie, and haue compassion on thee and multiplie thee, as he hath sworne vnto thy fathers:(Geneva) Deu 13:17 Und laß nichts von dem Bann an deiner Hand hangen, auf daß der HERR von dem Grimm seines Zorns abgewendet werde und gebe dir Barmherzigkeit und erbarme sich deiner und mehre dich, wie er den Vätern geschworen hat;(dhs) Deu 13:17 So none of the accursed things shall remain in your hand, that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of His anger and show you mercy, have compassion on you and multiply you, just as He swore to your fathers,(nkjv) ======= Deuteronomy 13:18 ============ Deu 13:18 if you will listen to the voice of the Lord your God, keeping all His commandments which I am commanding you today, and doing what is right in the sight of the Lord your God.
