Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 11:1 ============ Jer 11:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, (nas) Jer 11:1 ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος παρὰ κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν λέγων (lxx) Jer 11:1 Verbum quod factum est a Domino ad Jeremiam, dicens:(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:1 The worde that came to Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,(Geneva) Jer 11:1 Dies ist das Wort, das zu Jeremia geschah vom HERRN, und sprach:(dhs) Jer 11:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:2 ============ Jer 11:2 "Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem; (nas) Jer 11:2 ἀκούσατε τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης καὶ λαλήσεις πρὸς ἄνδρας Ιουδα καὶ πρὸς τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) Jer 11:2 [Audite verba pacti hujus, et loquimini ad viros Juda, et ad habitatores Jerusalem,(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:2 Heare ye the wordes of this couenant, and speake vnto the men of Iudah, and to the inhabitants of Ierusalem,(Geneva) Jer 11:2 Höret die Worte dieses Bundes, daß ihr sie denen in Juda und den Bürgern zu Jerusalem saget.(dhs) Jer 11:2 "Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:3 ============ Jer 11:3 and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel," Cursed is the man who does not heed the words of this covenant(nas) Jer 11:3 καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐπικατάρατος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς οὐκ ἀκούσεται τῶν λόγων τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης (lxx) Jer 11:3 et dices ad eos: Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël: Maledictus vir qui non audierit verba pacti hujus(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:3 And say thou vnto them, Thus sayeth the Lorde God of Israel, Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the wordes of this couenant,(Geneva) Jer 11:3 Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Verflucht sei, wer nicht gehorcht den Worten dieses Bundes,(dhs) Jer 11:3 and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord God of Israel: "Cursed is the man who does not obey the words of this covenant(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:4 ============ Jer 11:4 which I commanded your forefathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, 'Listen to My voice, and do according to all which I command you; so you shall be My people, and I will be your God, '(nas) Jer 11:4 ἧς ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἀνήγαγον αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐκ καμίνου τῆς σιδηρᾶς λέγων ἀκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου καὶ ποιήσατε πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν ἐντείλωμαι ὑμῖν καὶ ἔσεσθέ μοι εἰς λαόν καὶ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς θεόν (lxx) Jer 11:4 quod præcepi patribus vestris, in die qua eduxi eos de terra Ægypti, de fornace ferrea, dicens: Audite vocem meam, et facite omnia quæ præcipio vobis, et eritis mihi in populum, et ego ero vobis in Deum:(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:4 Which I commaunded vnto your fathers, when I brought them out of the lande of Egypt, from the yron fornace, saying, Obey my voyce, and doe according to all these things, which I commande you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God,(Geneva) Jer 11:4 den ich euren Vätern gebot des Tages, da ich sie aus Ägyptenland führte, aus einem eisernen Ofen, und sprach: Gehorchet meiner Stimme und tut, wie ich euch geboten habe, so sollt ihr mein Volk sein, und ich will euer Gott sein,(dhs) Jer 11:4 which I commanded your fathers in the day I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, 'Obey My voice, and do according to all that I command you; so shall you be My people, and I will be your God,'(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:5 ============ Jer 11:5 in order to confirm the oath which I swore to your forefathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day."'" Then I said, "Amen, O Lord."(nas) Jer 11:5 ὅπως στήσω τὸν ὅρκον μου ὃν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν τοῦ δοῦναι αὐτοῖς γῆν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι καθὼς ἡ ἡμέρα αὕτη καὶ ἀπεκρίθην καὶ εἶπα γένοιτο κύριε (lxx) Jer 11:5 ut suscitem juramentum quod juravi patribus vestris, daturum me eis terram fluentem lacte et melle, sicut est dies hæc.] Et respondi, et dixi: Amen, Domine.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:5 That I may confirme the othe, that I haue sworne vnto your fathers, to giue them a lande, which floweth with milke and hony, as appeareth this day. Then answered I and sayde, So be it, O Lord.(Geneva) Jer 11:5 auf daß ich den Eid halten möge, den ich euren Vätern geschworen habe, ihnen zu geben ein Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt, wie es denn heutigestages steht. Ich antwortete und sprach: HERR, ja, es sei also!(dhs) Jer 11:5 that I may establish the oath which I have sworn to your fathers, to give them 'a land flowing with milk and honey,' as it is this day." ' " And I answered and said, "So be it, Lord."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:6 ============ Jer 11:6 And the Lord said to me, "Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, 'Hear the words of this covenant and do them. (nas) Jer 11:6 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με ἀνάγνωθι τοὺς λόγους τούτους ἐν πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ ἔξωθεν Ιερουσαλημ λέγων ἀκούσατε τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης καὶ ποιήσατε αὐτούς (lxx) Jer 11:6 Et dixit Dominus ad me: [Vociferare omnia verba hæc in civitatibus Juda, et foris Jerusalem, dicens: Audite verba pacti hujus, et facite illa,(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:6 Then the Lord saide vnto me, Cry all these words in the cities of Iudah, and in the streetes of Ierusalem, saying, Heare yee the words of this couenant, and doe them.(Geneva) Jer 11:6 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Predige alle diese Worte in den Städten Juda's und auf allen Gassen zu Jerusalem und sprich: Höret die Worte dieses Bundes und tut darnach!(dhs) Jer 11:6 Then the Lord said to me, "Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: 'Hear the words of this covenant and do them.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:7 ============ Jer 11:7 For I solemnly warned your fathers in the day that I brought them up from the land of Egypt, even to this day, warning persistently, saying, "Listen to My voice."(nas) Jer 11:7 -- (lxx) Jer 11:7 quia contestans contestatus sum patres vestros, in die qua eduxi eos de terra Ægypti, usque ad diem hanc: mane consurgens contestatus sum, et dixi: Audite vocem meam.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:7 For I haue protested vnto your fathers, whe I brought them vp out of the land of Egypt vnto this day, rising earely and protesting, saying, Obey my voyce.(Geneva) Jer 11:7 Denn ich habe euren Vätern gezeugt von dem Tage an, da ich sie aus Ägyptenland führte, bis auf den heutigen Tag und zeugte stets und sprach: Gehorchet meiner Stimme!(dhs) Jer 11:7 For I earnestly exhorted your fathers in the day I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, until this day, rising early and exhorting, saying, "Obey My voice."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:8 ============ Jer 11:8 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked, each one, in the stubbornness of his evil heart; therefore I brought on them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did not.'"(nas) Jer 11:8 καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησαν (lxx) Jer 11:8 Et non audierunt, nec inclinaverunt aurem suam, sed abierunt, unusquisque in pravitate cordis sui mali: et induxi super eos omnia verba pacti hujus quod præcepi ut facerent, et non fecerunt.](vulgate) Jeremiah 11:8 Neuerthelesse they would not obey, nor encline their eare: but euery one walked in the stubbernesse of his wicked heart: therefore I will bring vpon them all the wordes of this couenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did it not.(Geneva) Jer 11:8 Aber sie gehorchten nicht, neigten auch ihre Ohren nicht; sondern ein jeglicher ging nach seines bösen Herzens Gedünken. Darum habe ich auch über sie kommen lassen alle Worte dieses Bundes, den ich geboten habe zu tun, und nach dem sie doch nicht getan haben.(dhs) Jer 11:8 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but everyone followed the dictates of his evil heart; therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but which they have not done.' "(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:9 ============ Jer 11:9 Then the Lord said to me, "A conspiracy has been found among the men of Judah and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. (nas) Jer 11:9 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με εὑρέθη σύνδεσμος ἐν ἀνδράσιν Ιουδα καὶ ἐν τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) Jer 11:9 Et dixit Dominus ad me: [Inventa est conjuratio in viris Juda et in habitatoribus Jerusalem.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:9 And the Lord sayd vnto me, A conspiracie is found among the men of Iudah, and among the inhabitants of Ierusalem.(Geneva) Jer 11:9 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Ich weiß wohl, wie sie in Juda und zu Jerusalem sich rotten.(dhs) Jer 11:9 And the Lord said to me, "A conspiracy has been found among the men of Judah and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:10 ============ Jer 11:10 They have turned back to the iniquities of their ancestors who refused to hear My words, and they have gone after other gods to serve them; the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken My covenant which I made with their fathers."(nas) Jer 11:10 ἐπεστράφησαν ἐπὶ τὰς ἀδικίας τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν τῶν πρότερον οἳ οὐκ ἤθελον εἰσακοῦσαι τῶν λόγων μου καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτοὶ βαδίζουσιν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἀλλοτρίων τοῦ δουλεύειν αὐτοῖς καὶ διεσκέδασαν οἶκος Ισραηλ καὶ οἶκος Ιουδα τὴν διαθήκην μου ἣν διεθέμην πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 11:10 Reversi sunt ad iniquitates patrum suorum priores, qui noluerunt audire verba mea: et hi ergo abierunt post deos alienos, ut servirent eis: irritum fecerunt domus Israël et domus Juda pactum meum quod pepigi cum patribus eorum.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:10 They are turned backe to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to heare my wordes: and they went after other gods to serue them: thus the house of Israel, & the house of Iudah haue broken my couenant, which I made with their fathers.(Geneva) Jer 11:10 Sie kehren sich eben zu den Sünden ihrer Väter, die vormals waren, welche auch nicht gehorchen wollten meinen Worten und folgten auch andern Göttern nach und dienten ihnen. Also hat das Haus Israel und das Haus Juda meinen Bund gebrochen, den ich mit ihren Vätern gemacht habe.(dhs) Jer 11:10 They have turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers who refused to hear My words, and they have gone after other gods to serve them; the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken My covenant which I made with their fathers."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:11 ============ Jer 11:11 Therefore thus says the Lord, "Behold I am bringing disaster on them which they will not be able to escape; though they will cry to Me, yet I will not listen to them. (nas) Jer 11:11 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον κακά ἐξ ὧν οὐ δυνήσονται ἐξελθεῖν ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ κεκράξονται πρός με καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούσομαι αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 11:11 Quam ob rem hæc dicit Dominus: Ecce ego inducam super eos mala de quibus exire non poterunt: et clamabunt ad me, et non exaudiam eos.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:11 Therefore thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, I will bring a plague vpon them, which they shall not be able to escape, and though they crye vnto me, I will not heare them.(Geneva) Jer 11:11 Darum siehe, spricht der HERR, ich will ein Unglück über sie gehen lassen, dem sie nicht sollen entgehen können; und wenn sie zu mir Schreien, will ich sie nicht hören.(dhs) Jer 11:11 Therefore thus says the Lord: "Behold, I will surely bring calamity on them which they will not be able to escape; and though they cry out to Me, I will not listen to them.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:12 ============ Jer 11:12 Then the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and cry to the gods to whom they burn incense, but they surely will not save them in the time of their disaster. (nas) Jer 11:12 καὶ πορεύσονται πόλεις Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ καὶ κεκράξονται πρὸς τοὺς θεούς οἷς αὐτοὶ θυμιῶσιν αὐτοῖς μὴ σώσουσιν αὐτοὺς ἐν καιρῷ τῶν κακῶν αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 11:12 Et ibunt civitates Juda et habitatores Jerusalem, et clamabunt ad deos quibus libant, et non salvabunt eos in tempore afflictionis eorum.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:12 Then shall the cities of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem goe, and crie vnto the gods vnto whome they offer incense, but they shall not bee able to helpe them in time of their trouble.(Geneva) Jer 11:12 So laß denn die Städte Juda's und die Bürger zu Jerusalem hingehen und zu ihren Göttern schreien, denen sie geräuchert haben; aber sie werden ihnen nicht helfen in ihrer Not.(dhs) Jer 11:12 Then the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they offer incense, but they will not save them at all in the time of their trouble.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:13 ============ Jer 11:13 For your gods are as many as your cities, O Judah; and as many as the streets of Jerusalem are the altars you have set up to the shameful thing, altars to burn incense to Baal. (nas) Jer 11:13 ὅτι κατ᾽ ἀριθμὸν τῶν πόλεών σου ἦσαν θεοί σου Ιουδα καὶ κατ᾽ ἀριθμὸν ἐξόδων τῆς Ιερουσαλημ ἐτάξατε βωμοὺς θυμιᾶν τῇ Βααλ (lxx) Jer 11:13 Secundum numerum enim civitatum tuarum erant dii tui, Juda: et secundum numerum viarum Jerusalem, posuisti aras confusionis, aras ad libandum Baalim.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Iudah, and according to the number of the streetes of Ierusalem haue yee set vp altars of confusion, euen altars to burne incense vnto Baal.(Geneva) Jer 11:13 Denn so manche Stadt, so manche Götter hast du, Juda; und so manche Gassen zu Jerusalem sind, so manchen Schandaltar habt ihr aufgerichtet, dem Baal zu räuchern.(dhs) Jer 11:13 For according to the number of your cities were your gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem you have set up altars to that shameful thing, altars to burn incense to Baal.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:14 ============ Jer 11:14 "Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not listen when they call to Me because of their disaster. (nas) Jer 11:14 καὶ σὺ μὴ προσεύχου περὶ τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου καὶ μὴ ἀξίου περὶ αὐτῶν ἐν δεήσει καὶ προσευχῇ ὅτι οὐκ εἰσακούσομαι ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐν ᾧ ἐπικαλοῦνταί με ἐν καιρῷ κακώσεως αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 11:14 Tu ergo noli orare pro populo hoc, et ne assumas pro eis laudem et orationem, quia non exaudiam in tempore clamoris eorum ad me, in tempore afflictionis eorum.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:14 Therfore thou shalt not pray for this people, neither lift vp a crie, or prayer for them: for when they cry vnto mee in their trouble, I will not heare them.(Geneva) Jer 11:14 So bitte du nun nicht für dieses Volk und tue kein Flehen noch Gebet für sie; denn ich will sie nicht hören, wenn sie zu mir schreien in ihrer Not.(dhs) Jer 11:14 "So do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:15 ============ Jer 11:15 "What right has My beloved in My house When she has done many vile deeds? Can the sacrificial flesh take away from you your disaster, So that you can rejoice?"(nas) Jer 11:15 τί ἡ ἠγαπημένη ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ μου ἐποίησεν βδέλυγμα μὴ εὐχαὶ καὶ κρέα ἅγια ἀφελοῦσιν ἀπὸ σοῦ τὰς κακίας σου ἢ τούτοις διαφεύξῃ (lxx) Jer 11:15 Quid est, quod dilectus meus in domo mea fecit scelera multa? numquid carnes sanctæ auferent a te malitias tuas, in quibus gloriata es?(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:15 What shoulde my beloued tarie in mine house, seeing they haue committed abomination with manie? and the holy flesh goeth away from thee: yet when thou doest euill, thou reioycest.(Geneva) Jer 11:15 Was haben meine Freunde in meinem Haus zu schaffen? Sie treiben alle Schalkheit und meinen, das heilige Fleisch soll es von ihnen nehmen; und wenn sie übeltun, sind sie guter Dinge darüber.(dhs) Jer 11:15 "What has My beloved to do in My house, Having done lewd deeds with many? And the holy flesh has passed from you. When you do evil, then you rejoice.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:16 ============ Jer 11:16 The Lord called your name," A green olive tree, beautiful in fruit and form"; With the noise of a great tumult He has kindled fire on it, And its branches are worthless. (nas) Jer 11:16 ἐλαίαν ὡραίαν εὔσκιον τῷ εἴδει ἐκάλεσεν κύριος τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς φωνὴν περιτομῆς αὐτῆς ἀνήφθη πῦρ ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν μεγάλη ἡ θλῖψις ἐπὶ σέ ἠχρεώθησαν οἱ κλάδοι αὐτῆς (lxx) Jer 11:16 Olivam uberem, pulchram, fructiferam, speciosam, vocavit Dominus nomen tuum: ad vocem loquelæ, grandis exarsit ignis in ea, et combusta sunt fruteta ejus.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:16 The Lord called thy name, A greene oliue tree, faire, and of goodly fruite: but with noyse and great tumult he hath set fyre vpon it, and the branches of it are broken.(Geneva) Jer 11:16 Der HERR nannte dich einen grünen, schönen, fruchtbaren Ölbaum; aber nun hat er mit einem Mordgeschrei ein Feuer um ihn lassen anzünden, daß seine Äste verderben müssen.(dhs) Jer 11:16 The Lord called your name, Green Olive Tree, Lovely and of Good Fruit. With the noise of a great tumult He has kindled fire on it, And its branches are broken.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:17 ============ Jer 11:17 The Lord of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done to provoke Me by offering up sacrifices to Baal. (nas) Jer 11:17 καὶ κύριος ὁ καταφυτεύσας σε ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ σὲ κακὰ ἀντὶ τῆς κακίας οἴκου Ισραηλ καὶ οἴκου Ιουδα ὅτι ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοῖς τοῦ παροργίσαι με ἐν τῷ θυμιᾶν αὐτοὺς τῇ Βααλ (lxx) Jer 11:17 Et Dominus exercituum, qui plantavit te, locutus est super te malum, pro malis domus Israël, et domus Juda, quæ fecerunt sibi ad irritandum me, libantes Baalim.]~(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:17 For the Lorde of hostes that planted thee, hath pronounced a plague against thee, for the wickednes of the house of Israel, and of the house of Iudah, which they haue done against themselues to prouoke me to anger in offering incense vnto Baal.(Geneva) Jer 11:17 Denn der HERR Zebaoth, der dich gepflanzt hat, hat dir ein Unglück gedroht um der Bosheit willen des Hauses Israel und des Hauses Juda, welche sie treiben, daß sie mich erzürnen mit ihrem Räuchern, das sie dem Baal tun.(dhs) Jer 11:17 "For the Lord of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced doom against you for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke Me to anger in offering incense to Baal."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:18 ============ Jer 11:18 Moreover, the Lord made it known to me and I knew it; Then You showed me their deeds. (nas) Jer 11:18 κύριε γνώρισόν μοι καὶ γνώσομαι τότε εἶδον τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα αὐτῶν (lxx) Jer 11:18 [Tu autem, Domine, demonstrasti mihi, et cognovi: tunc ostendisti mihi studia eorum.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:18 And the Lorde hath taught me, and I knowe it, euen then thou shewedst mee their practises.(Geneva) Jer 11:18 Der HERR hat mir's offenbart, daß ich's weiß, und zeigte mir ihr Vornehmen,(dhs) Jer 11:18 Now the Lord gave me knowledge of it, and I know it; for You showed me their doings.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 11:19 ============ Jer 11:19 But I was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; And I did not know that they had devised plots against me, saying, "Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, And let us cut him off from the land of the living, That his name be remembered no more."(nas) Jer 11:19 ἐγὼ δὲ ὡς ἀρνίον ἄκακον ἀγόμενον τοῦ θύεσθαι οὐκ ἔγνων ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ ἐλογίσαντο λογισμὸν πονηρὸν λέγοντες δεῦτε καὶ ἐμβάλωμεν ξύλον εἰς τὸν ἄρτον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκτρίψωμεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ γῆς ζώντων καὶ τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ μνησθῇ ἔτι (lxx) Jer 11:19 Et ego quasi agnus mansuetus, qui portatur ad victimam: et non cognovi quia cogitaverunt super me consilia, dicentes: Mittamus lignum in panem ejus, et eradamus eum de terra viventium, et nomen ejus non memoretur amplius.(vulgate) Jeremiah 11:19 But I was like a lambe, or a bullocke, that is brought to the slaughter, and I knewe not that they had deuised thus against me, saying, Let vs destroy the tree with the fruite thereof, and cut him out of the lande of the liuing, that his name may be no more in memory.(Geneva) Jer 11:19 nämlich, daß sie mich wie ein armes Schaf zur Schlachtbank führen wollen.
