Today's Date: ======= Jeremiah 49:1 ============ Jer 49:1 Concerning the sons of Ammon. Thus says the Lord: "Does Israel have no sons? Or has he no heirs? Why then has Malcam taken possession of Gad And his people settled in its cities? (nas) Jer 49:1 καὶ προσῆλθον πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ Ιωαναν καὶ Αζαριας υἱὸς Μαασαιου καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου (lxx) Jer 49:1 Ad filios Ammon. [Hæc dicit Dominus: Numquid non filii sunt Israël, aut hæres non est ei? cur igitur hæreditate possedit Melchom Gad, et populus ejus in urbibus ejus habitavit?(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:1 Vnto the children of Ammon thus saith the Lord, Hath Israel no sonnes? or hath he none heire? Why then hath their king possessed God? and his people dwelt in his cities?(Geneva) Jer 49:1 Wider die Kinder Ammon spricht der HERR also: Hat denn Israel nicht Kinder, oder hat es keinen Erben? Why then does Milcom inherit Gad, And his people dwell in its cities?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:2 ============ Jer 49:2 "Therefore behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord, "That I will cause a trumpet blast of war to be heard Against Rabbah of the sons of Ammon; And it will become a desolate heap, And her towns will be set on fire. Then Israel will take possession of his possessors," Says the Lord. (nas) Jer 49:2 πρὸς Ιερεμιαν τὸν προφήτην καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ πεσέτω δὴ τὸ ἔλεος ἡμῶν κατὰ πρόσωπόν σου καὶ πρόσευξαι πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου περὶ τῶν καταλοίπων τούτων ὅτι κατελείφθημεν ὀλίγοι ἀπὸ πολλῶν καθὼς οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου βλέπουσιν (lxx) Jer 49:2 Ideo dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et auditum faciam super Rabbath filiorum Ammon fremitum prælii, et erit in tumultum dissipata, filiæque ejus igni succendentur, et possidebit Israël possessores suos, ait Dominus.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:2 Therefore beholde the dayes come, sayeth the Lorde, that I will cause a noyse of warre to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites, and it shall be a desolate heape, and her daughters shall be burnt with fire: then shall Israel possesse those that possessed him, sayeth the Lord.(Geneva) Jer 49:2 Darum siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich will ein Kriegsgeschrei erschallen lassen über Rabba der Kinder Ammon, daß sie soll auf einem Haufen wüst liegen und ihre Töchter mit Feuer angesteckt werden; aber Israel soll besitzen die, von denen sie besessen waren, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Jer 49:2 Therefore behold, the days are coming," says the Lord, "That I will cause to be heard an alarm of war In Rabbah of the Ammonites; It shall be a desolate mound, And her villages shall be burned with fire. Cry out, O daughters of Rabbah, Gird yourselves with sackcloth and lament, And rush back and forth inside the walls; For Malcam will go into exile Together with his priests and his princes. (nas) Jer 49:3 καὶ ἀναγγειλάτω ἡμῖν κύριος ὁ θεός σου τὴν ὁδόν ᾗ πορευσόμεθα ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ λόγον ὃν ποιήσομεν (lxx) Jer 49:3 Ulula, Hesebon, quoniam vastata est Hai; clamate, filiæ Rabbath: accingite vos ciliciis, plangite et circuite per sepes, quoniam Melchom in transmigrationem ducetur, sacerdotes ejus et principes ejus simul.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:3 Howle, O Heshbon, for Ai is wasted: crie ye daughters of Rabbah: girde you with sackecloth: mourne and runne to and fro by the hedges: for their King shall goe into captiuitie; and his Priestes, and his princes likewise.(Geneva) Jer 49:3 Heule, o Hesbon! denn Ai ist verstört. Your valley is flowing away, O backsliding daughter Who trusts in her treasures, saying, 'Who will come against me?'(nas) Jer 49:4 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ιερεμιας ἤκουσα ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ προσεύξομαι πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν ἡμῶν κατὰ τοὺς λόγους ὑμῶν καὶ ἔσται ὁ λόγος ὃν ἂν ἀποκριθήσεται κύριος ἀναγγελῶ ὑμῖν οὐ μὴ κρύψω ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν ῥῆμα (lxx) Jer 49:4 Quid gloriaris in vallibus? defluxit vallis tua, filia delicata, quæ confidebas in thesauris tuis, et dicebas: Quis veniet ad me?(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:4 Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleis? thy valley floweth away, O rebellious daughter: she trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come vnto me?(Geneva) Jer 49:4 Was trotzest du auf deine Auen? (nas) Jer 49:5 καὶ αὐτοὶ εἶπαν τῷ Ιερεμια ἔστω κύριος ἐν ἡμῖν εἰς μάρτυρα δίκαιον καὶ πιστόν εἰ μὴ κατὰ πάντα τὸν λόγον ὃν ἂν ἀποστείλῃ σε κύριος πρὸς ἡμᾶς οὕτως ποιήσομεν (lxx) Jer 49:5 Ecce ego inducam super te terrorem, ait Dominus Deus exercituum, ab omnibus qui sunt in circuitu tuo: et dispergemini singuli a conspectu vestro, nec erit qui congreget fugientes.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:5 Beholde, I will bring a feare vpon thee, sayth the Lorde God of hostes, of all those that be about thee, & ye shalbe scattered euery man right foorth, and none shall gather him that fleeth.(Geneva) Jer 49:5 Siehe, spricht der HERR HERR Zebaoth: Ich will Furcht über dich kommen lassen von allen, die um dich her wohnen, daß ein jeglicher seines Weges vor sich hinaus verstoßen werde und niemand sei, der die Flüchtigen sammle.(dhs) Jer 49:5 Behold, I will bring fear upon you," Says the Lord God of hosts, "From all those who are around you; You shall be driven out, everyone headlong, And no one will gather those who wander off.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:6 ============ Jer 49:6 "But afterward I will restore The fortunes of the sons of Ammon," Declares the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts, "Is there no longer any wisdom in Teman? Has good counsel been lost to the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed? (nas) Jer 49:7 καὶ ἐγενήθη μετὰ δέκα ἡμέρας ἐγενήθη λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν (lxx) Jer 49:7 Ad Idumæam. [Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Numquid non ultra est sapientia in Theman? periit consilium a filiis; inutilis facta est sapientia eorum.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:7 To Edom thus sayeth the Lord of hostes: Is wisdome no more in Teman? is counsel perished fro their children? is their wisdome vanished?(Geneva) Jer 49:7 Wider Edom. So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Ist denn keine Weisheit mehr zu Theman? ist denn kein Rat mehr bei den Klugen? ist ihre Weisheit so leer geworden?(dhs) Jer 49:7 Against Edom. (nas) Jer 49:8 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν Ιωαναν καὶ τοὺς ἡγεμόνας τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου (lxx) Jer 49:8 Fugite, et terga vertite; descendite in voraginem, habitatores Dedan: quoniam perditionem Esau adduxi super eum, tempus visitationis ejus.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:8 Flee, ye inhabitants of Dedan ( they are turned backe, and haue consulted to dwell) for I haue brought the destruction of Esau vpon him, and the time of his visitation.(Geneva) Jer 49:8 Fliehet, wendet euch und verkriecht euch tief, ihr Bürger zu Dedan! denn ich lasse einen Unfall über Esau kommen, die Zeit seiner Heimsuchung.(dhs) Jer 49:8 Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan! For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, The time that I will punish him.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:9 ============ Jer 49:9 "If grape gatherers came to you, Would they not leave gleanings? If thieves came by night, They would destroy only until they had enough. (nas) Jer 49:9 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος (lxx) Jer 49:9 Si vindemiatores venissent super te, non reliquissent racemum: si fures in nocte rapuissent quod sufficeret sibi.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:9 If the grape gatherers come to thee, would they not leaue some grapes? if theeues come by night, they will destroy till they haue ynough.(Geneva) Jer 49:9 Es sollen Weinleser über dich kommen, die dir kein Nachlesen lassen; und die Diebe des Nachts sollen über dich kommen, die sollen ihnen genug verderben.(dhs) Jer 49:9 If grape-gatherers came to you, Would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves by night, Would they not destroy until they have enough?(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:10 ============ Jer 49:10 "But I have stripped Esau bare, I have uncovered his hiding places So that he will not be able to conceal himself; His offspring has been destroyed along with his relatives And his neighbors, and he is no more. (nas) Jer 49:10 ἐὰν καθίσαντες καθίσητε ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ οἰκοδομήσω ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐ μὴ καθέλω καὶ φυτεύσω ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκτίλω ὅτι ἀναπέπαυμαι ἐπὶ τοῖς κακοῖς οἷς ἐποίησα ὑμῖν (lxx) Jer 49:10 Ego vero discooperui Esau: revelavi abscondita ejus, et celari non poterit: vastatum est semen ejus, et fratres ejus, et vicini ejus, et non erit.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:10 For I haue discouered Esau: I haue vncouered his secrets, and he shall not be able to hide himselfe: his seede is wasted, and his brethren and his neighbours, and there shall be none to say,(Geneva) Jer 49:10 Denn ich habe Esau entblößt und seine verborgenen Orte geöffnet, daß er sich nicht verstecken kann; sein Same, seine Brüder und seine Nachbarn sind verstört, daß ihrer keiner mehr da ist.(dhs) Jer 49:10 But I have made Esau bare; I have uncovered his secret places, And he shall not be able to hide himself. (nas) Jer 49:12 καὶ δώσω ὑμῖν ἔλεος καὶ ἐλεήσω ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐπιστρέψω ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν (lxx) Jer 49:12 Quia hæc dicit Dominus: Ecce quibus non erat judicium ut biberent calicem, bibentes bibent: et tu, quasi innocens relinqueris? non eris innocens, sed bibens bibes.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:12 For thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, they whose iudgement was not to drinke of the cuppe, haue assuredly drunken, and art thou he that shall escape free? thou shalt not goe free, but thou shalt surely drinke of it.(Geneva) Jer 49:12 Denn so spricht der HERR: Siehe, die, so es nicht verschuldet hatten, den Kelch zu trinken, müssen trinken; und du solltest ungestraft bleiben? And are you the one who will altogether go unpunished? And all its cities shall be perpetual wastes."(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:14 ============ Jer 49:14 I have heard a message from the Lord, And an envoy is sent among the nations, saying, "Gather yourselves together and come against her, And rise up for battle!"(nas) Jer 49:14 ὅτι εἰς γῆν Αἰγύπτου εἰσελευσόμεθα καὶ οὐ μὴ ἴδωμεν πόλεμον καὶ φωνὴν σάλπιγγος οὐ μὴ ἀκούσωμεν καὶ ἐν ἄρτοις οὐ μὴ πεινάσωμεν καὶ ἐκεῖ οἰκήσομεν (lxx) Jer 49:14 Auditum audivi a Domino, et legatus ad gentes missus est: Congregamini, et venite contra eam, et consurgamus in prælium.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:14 I haue heard a rumour from the Lord, & an ambassadour is sent vnto the heathen, saying, Gather you together, & come against her, and rise vp to the battell.(Geneva) Jer 49:14 Ich habe gehört vom HERRN, daß eine Botschaft unter die Heiden gesandt sei: Sammelt euch und kommt her wider sie, macht euch auf zum Streit!(dhs) Jer 49:14 I have heard a message from the Lord, And an ambassador has been sent to the nations: "Gather together, come against her, And rise up to battle!(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:15 ============ Jer 49:15 "For behold, I have made you small among the nations, Despised among men. (nas) Jer 49:15 διὰ τοῦτο ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἐὰν ὑμεῖς δῶτε τὸ πρόσωπον ὑμῶν εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ εἰσέλθητε ἐκεῖ κατοικεῖν (lxx) Jer 49:15 Ecce enim parvulum dedi te in gentibus, contemptibilem inter homines.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:15 For loe, I will make thee but small among the heathen, and despised among men.(Geneva) Jer 49:15 Denn siehe, ich habe dich gering gemacht unter den Heiden und verachtet unter den Menschen.(dhs) Jer 49:15 "For indeed, I will make you small among nations, Despised among men.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:16 ============ Jer 49:16 "As for the terror of you, The arrogance of your heart has deceived you, O you who live in the clefts of the rock, Who occupy the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as an eagle's, I will bring you down from there," declares the Lord. (nas) Jer 49:16 καὶ ἔσται ἡ ῥομφαία ἣν ὑμεῖς φοβεῖσθε ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῆς εὑρήσει ὑμᾶς ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ὁ λιμός οὗ ὑμεῖς λόγον ἔχετε ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ καταλήμψεται ὑμᾶς ὀπίσω ὑμῶν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀποθανεῖσθε (lxx) Jer 49:16 Arrogantia tua decepit te, et superbia cordis tui, qui habitas in cavernis petræ, et apprehendere niteris altitudinem collis: cum exaltaveris quasi aquila nidum tuum, inde detraham te, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:16 Thy feare, and ye pride of thine heart hath deceiued thee, thou that dwellest in the cleftes of the rocke, and keepest the height of ye hil: though thou shouldest make thy nest as hie as the egle, I wil bring thee downe from thece, sayth the Lord.(Geneva) Jer 49:16 Dein Trotz und dein Hochmut hat dich betrogen, weil du in Felsenklüften wohnst und hohe Gebirge innehast. Wenn du denn gleich dein Nest so hoch machtest wie der Adler, dennoch will ich dich von dort herunterstürzen, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Jer 49:16 Your fierceness has deceived you, The pride of your heart, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, Who hold the height of the hill! Though you make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:17 ============ Jer 49:17 "Edom will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss at all its wounds. (nas) Jer 49:17 καὶ ἔσονται πάντες οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ πάντες οἱ ἀλλογενεῖς οἱ θέντες τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν εἰς γῆν Αἰγύπτου ἐνοικεῖν ἐκεῖ ἐκλείψουσιν ἐν τῇ ῥομφαίᾳ καὶ ἐν τῷ λιμῷ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται αὐτῶν οὐθεὶς σῳζόμενος ἀπὸ τῶν κακῶν ὧν ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς (lxx) Jer 49:17 Et erit Idumæa deserta: omnis qui transibit per eam stupebit, et sibilabit super omnes plagas ejus.(vulgate) Jeremiah 49:17 Also Edom shall be desolate: euery one that goeth by it, shall be astonished, and shal hisse at all the plagues thereof,(Geneva) Jer 49:17 Also soll Edom wüst werden, daß alle die, so vorübergehen, sich wundern und pfeifen werden über alle ihre Plage;(dhs) Jer 49:17 "Edom also shall be an astonishment; Everyone who goes by it will be astonished And will hiss at all its plagues.(nkjv) ======= Jeremiah 49:18 ============ Jer 49:18 Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors," says the Lord, "no one will live there, nor will a son of man reside in it.
