Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (nas) Jas 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. "He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us"? (nas) Jas 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE." (nas) Jas 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." (nkjv) Jas 4:6 Er gibt aber desto reichlicher Gnade. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. (nas) Jas 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life?
